Server Basics 101
I just took on setting up my first small office network.We have four computers and a desktop that someone set up to run as a server. The 6 gig harddrive had long seen its time and needed to be replaced.I bought a Dell PowerEdge SC420, 4 Windows XP Professional upgrades (from Amazon at an amazing price and current rebate) and Windows Small Business Server 2003 (also at a great price).I've worked on PC's for years but never set up a office network with a server.I was very apprehensive and questioned my skill but this software honestly was ridiculously simple to install and deploy.

It guides you through the entire process step by step and I recommend it highly to anyone looking for their first server software.Of course it does have some very technical aspects that left me scratching my head but that's because I don't know what I'm doing.Setting up Sharepoint and Exchange will require some further reading on my part but shouldn't be that difficult to deploy.

I recommend this product very highly and didn't give it 5 stars because of my own inexperience and not being able to see what it can fully do.It also takes hours to install which is pretty typical for any Microsoft product.I did have the whole thing done in one Saturday though and it took about 8 hours altogether. ... SJ Namo WebEditor 6 Suite
This is such a great program and so easy to create beautiful web pages. I am glad that I purchased it. I am creating quite a large family history webpage and it is so easy to link pages together,insert pictures,insert web art and background music.

SJ Namo WebEditor 6 Suite
I have been using this software for nearly a year and have gotten it to work for me - for the most part. I had never heard of this software or company before and got it for free in a packaged deal from the company I use for web hosting (www.inmotionhosting.com).

Like most any piece of software, it takes some time to get used to using it and finding more features. I am now at a point with two web sites that I am comfortable with the software and how the web sites look and work - for the most part.

Like most any software, there are going to be limitations in what a user can do with it - even when knowing the product inside and out. SJ Namo 6 definitely has its short-comings and getting help from the parent company has been oh-for-23 in my case - they simply do not respond to my queries! When I ask inmotionhosting about the problems - I'm told this is not their software and that any questions should be directed to the parent company of the product.

I've stuck with this software because it really does work for me - for the most part. The alternatives are other "cheapy" software packages which I'm sure will have their own nuiances. Or learn more of Dreamweaver - NOT!

I've taken three courses in Dreamweaver, spent more than 100 hours on tutorials and practice sessions and even use it at work on an almost daily basis. Because I know Dreamweaver this well, and that it is rather difficult to do the simple things I want from a web design package, and because I don't have the time to go through a 500 page manual, spend countless hours on the help sites, etc., etc......I wouldn't even consider it for my own personal or business web site. Bottom line with Dreamweaver is that it is just to complex for the beginning and possibly intermediate web designer. You may say that it only takes some getting use to and that I'm contradicting my own earlier statement. NOT! Because I use Dreamweaver so much, I know the limitations and problems and the high cost of software that goes with it.

Another alternative is MS FrontPage. Like many people, I use less and less products from Microsoft because of the problems, attacks, viruses, etc., etc. FrontPage and its extensions and all the other "features" don't even make this a consideration for me.

So, back to the original review and SJ Namo - Amazon is selling it for $40 - not a bad deal in my opinion. I'd say that anyone who is starting out in web design or someone who requires less "bells & whistles" should consider this product as an option. Unless it has changed since I got the software - this product at least comes with the manual - unlike Dreamweaver or FrontPage (both have online help (so does Namo) and both require seperate purchases for the manual).

DON'T WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!
Where do I begin?

For starters, I had trouble loading this software on my brand new system with XP.All of the support is knowledge base and is useless.I finally got it loaded (after 3 attempts).The interface is NOT user friendly.I got error messages galore with no explanations either in the 'help' file or in the encyclopedia of a user manual.The FTP program would not upload files and would give unexplained error messages.I wrote to tech support.Six days later I got a response, with the wrong 'canned' information.I waited another week for someone to respond and ask me what the problem was...again!I finally contacted Namo for a refund, but do you think they've contacted me?Of course not!

Got $80 to waste?Buy this one!

Namo WebEditor 6 Suite
I purchased this software after reading fairly positive reviews.I have little experience with web page design so this looked like the right fit.Well, it's easy enough to use for the most part but forget it if you have a problem with the software.The customer service is non-existent.You can't call because their offices are in Korea and I am also unable to connect to their customer service to ask a question via email.I can not get the software to work and I can't use it.If you are considering this software, better think twice and buy something that has some support -- this is a huge waste of money.

A Major Bug!
Although it would be hard to match all of the "extras" you get with this program, I found a major problem that makes it impossible to use.The program puts in non-breaking spaces for regular spaces between words in table layouts which explodes the table beyond all margins. I'm not the only one that has complained about this (and the company has acknowledged the problem) but so far no upgrade fix.Until they address this problem (which would seem simple to fix) I wouldn't recommend this program. This problem was not evident in previous versions, all of which I've used and liked.

V7.5 not intuitive
I've designed some simple pages over the years from share and freeware programs, the last using Namo Webeditor V4. I thought I was beyond the noob position but this program put me right back at the beginning.

After importing an already existing site, it inserted a template format over all the pages. (Hand smacking forehead) While this option can probably be turned off or adjusted, I am forced to dive into help menus to understand the "characteristics" of this program.

Maybe version 7 was simple to use. I have tried working with V7.5 for the past couple months and have not been satisfied with the integration of the features. It does have some nice aspects but if I have difficulty doing simple stuff, the complex features don't matter.

To me this has a moderate learning curve. I'm tired of trying to figure out the thinking behind NetObjects Fusion V7.5 and will keep searching for another web page development program. :(

WoW, Nothing Like Front Page!
I learned to build web pages with FrontPage 2000.This is nothing like FrontPage. This is going to take some time to learn and get use to. I am a little discouraged, but will give it more time. Nothing what I expected. I'm seriously thinking I should have upgraded to Frontpage 2003. Maybe I will write a better review once I get to know what in the hell I'm doing.

A great program to put up a website easily and effectively
I was planning to put up a website in a few months or so. The problems I have in doing this are: 1) I don't know a HTML from a hole in the wall, 2) I don't want to get Frontpage or Dreamweaver and totally lose my sanity and cash, and 3) It was very hard finding a web design program that was user friendly and powerful as well.

I looked at many of the "standards" out there such as EasyWeb and a truckload of others until I stumbled upon NetObjects Fusion 7. This version was selling at a great price and I thought the gamble was worth it. It turns out it wasn't a gamble at all. I hit the jackpot.

NetObjects Fusion 7 sounds like a planet that Capt.Kirk might visit in Star Trek, ( "Ahead warp factor 4, Sulu. Set a course for NetObjects Fusion 7...") but in fact, it is a feature filled program that will get you up and running with your first web design in less than half an hour. They say 10 minutes, but I like to take my time with these sort of things. The instruction manual guides you through each step of developing your own web page with many hints and tips. The program also delves into the deeper aspects of HTLM and what not, so it is a program that you can develop your skills with. I've played around with it for about a week now and am thoroughly impressed with the ease in which a website can be developed. The program has many templates that are ready made to use. You can also customize these templates or start from scratch and make your own designs. I also purchased the SiteStyles Vol. 1 add on. This is an excellent source of literaly hundreds of different website designs that you can use straight out of the box or munipulate and change to your hearts content. NOF 7 allows you to import graphics and backgrounds which makes customization a breeze. Netobjects Fusion 7 is a great program. Check often for updates and fixes as the company is constantly trying to make their product better.

I can understand the angst of some of the professional website builders. When a program comes along that is this easy and inexpensive to use, I would probably feel a little uneasy as well if I were in their shoes. NOF 7 will never replace them, but it sure has done a remarkable job of getting people like me up to speed quickly and painlessly in designing websites. Beam me up Scotty, I've seen enough.

This is the worst program ever written for web authoring

I bought 2 3 4 5 and 7 and have recently updated with
the latest patches and STILL its got more bugs than an anthill
I've just trashed it

it totally refuses to even import single pages that that display fine in IE6 ... pages it created in the same version of itself !!!

It refuses to even import its own .nod project files created just 12 months ago

I've now lost 4 entire web sites because I assumed having backups of this things project files would keep them safe

they cant or wont provide fixes and despite 7 attempts to get them to stop they keep spamming my email address

avoid this company and its projects like the plague

try dreamweaver it may be more complicated but at least it doesnt keep trashing your work

Netobjects Fusion 8 - Just awesome!
This program has a short learning curve.The interface is intuitive to users at all levels.This software is much improved from the earlier releases.I'm not going to repeat the stuffs that are listed on the netobjects.com, but you should really checkout this product.The site wizard is not bad either.I give it a 5 stars rating.

Long Learning Curve
This is not an easy program to learn. I am a previous user of FrontPage, so I don't consider myself a beginner. You can build a great website with this program, but it will take you forever to do it. There also quite a few bugs with the software that haven't been worked out.

Long Time User of NetObjects
I've used NetObjects for web development projects since the first product launched back in the mid-1990s.It's come a long way and is a lot less expensive, much easier to use, provides leaner code, and development capabilities right up there with the gold standard (Dreamweaver).I've used several other products over the years including Dreamweaver MX, Go Live and Front Page, Nothing can compare to the production speed and flexibility provided for both novice and experienced web developers that NetObjects has consistently provided for a decade.

Still the fastest way to develop good Web sites
I tried Frontpage and DreamWeaver but found it easier to use html. I then discovered NOF for free with a magazine. No need for manuals or even bulletin boards. NOF gives you dead accurate placement of your site components utterly intuitively. Because of this ease of use NOF has the reputation of being a very limited root to Web site development. This is not the case, unless you choose to use the standard styles. But this argument also applies to any other WYSIWYG tool. With very little extra effort you can use NOF to give your site exactly the look you want, in a fraction of the time taken using any other method. This latest version is easily the best yet, with masses of extras such as support for developing e-commerce sites. The only caveat I have is that the support from a knowledgeable and extensive user base is being a little slow to catch up. For once the advertising hype is true - NOF 8 is the cheapest and fastest route to professional-looking Web sites.

Perfect for small business/personal use
Fast, easy and efficient, this is a sure winner for most people who do not make web sites for a living.

If you just want a pretty, well laid out and functional site and do not want to spend lot's of time learning a complex web authoring tool NOF cannot be beat by anything out there.

I can do it all from html directly in notepad to Macromedia Studio, but I just love the speed with which I can develop, set up and publish a site with NOF. Three years ago I did a small but quite nice site in only 24 hours - and it's still up(!).

NOF has it's limitations. You can make a site look like millions - but do not expect to be able to publish advanced and interactive content with ease. Here NOF quickly runs into trouble and you may as well grit your teeth for another more advanced package. But than again - if you want to splash Flash all over your site - then why even think of anything else than the original Macromedia package?

So, if you believe content is everything (and that's pretty much the case everywhere) NOF will allow you present your message very efficiently - so you can concentrate on your real work and expertise.

And by the way - don't forget that Fusion 7 is just out now.

Perfect for Business Professional Needing to Build Web Site
After playing around with Microsoft's Front Page and looking at many other options, I tried NetObjects Fusion MX and have been blown away by how easy it was to create a professional, highly functional Web site without having HTML knowledge/experience nor being a programmer nor a Web designer.

When I bought this program a month ago, I'd not had any HTML training or experience.I'm not a designer or graphic artist.And I'm not a programmer/techie.I'm a former corporate exec who recently started my own business and am working with a limited budget for the first time, so I decided to pull together my company's initial Web site on my own.

In just a couple of days of working with NetObjects Fusion, I produced what could be arguably called a decent Web site, with virtually no problems or challenges.It really was as easy as the promotional literature claims.

I used one of the styles that comes packaged with the software, inserted text, pictures and pages with simple dragging and dropping and ended up with a great site.I could customize the look/feel extensively using commands similar to Microsoft Word, not having to insert HTML tags.I even doubted that it would be easy to actually get the stuff I created "pushed" to the Web, but was pleasantly surprised when it worked beautifully on my first try, in only a minute and with only two clicks of the mouse.

One of the coolest features is the tightly integrated "components" available from third-party vendors.I've now used several of them to add a response form that sends an immediate response back to the submitter, a customer registration form that not only sends a response but also stores the data in an Excel file for me to download and import into my customer database, a form that enables a user to browse their computer and choose a file to send to me, pop-up windows, a scrolling window within the page for a user agreement and more.

As I've played around and bought an HTML reference book, I also found it easy to add more tricky things like HTML code inserted in my page for a newsletter sign up form and a "refer a friend" feature.A buddy who is a hard-core programmer tells me that the code generated by the program adds stuff that isn't necessary, but for me that hasn't caused any challenges or problems since I'm not a programmer and the resulting site is great.I haven't found anything not to like about this package and have been amazingly productive with it.

Because I had the benefit of playing with Front Page first, I can honestly say that if you're like me--a non-programmer, non-designer needing to build a professional, highly functional Web site quickly--THIS is the much better choice of program.And I have a powerful site, with real customers visiting and interacting everyday...

NetObjects is the ideal Web authoring tool
I start to learn HTML since HTML 2.0, and it makes me to be very familiar with HTML coding. Till now, I've experienced many tools including Notepad, Vi (Unix's editor, like window's Notepad), CMed, HotDog, Homesite, Netscape's composer, Frontpage, Dream weaver.
My first experience with NetObject starting from NetObject 4.0, then, I was impressive how productivity it is, although it's still not perfect at that time. I feel satisfied & comfortable with this kind of WYSIWYG tools since the NetObjects MX was born.
For NetObjects MX, I would like to share my opinions here,

1. NetObjects MX is not only the best tool for beginners, also inlcuding sophisticated guys. If you assume it is designed for beginners only, you are wrong.

NetObjects MX provide many flexible ways to access your HTML coding. If you do know what is HTML, and you are willing to spend time to learn NetObjects MX, you'll find there is no "limitation".

2. Yes, NetObjects produces large HTML files, however it won't sacrifice website download speed too much. The real problem to slow down your website download speed mostly come from the large graphics & multimedia files.

3. Compared with Frontpage & Dreamweaver, NetObjects provides a effective way to increase your productivity with much lower cost.

So, I have to say "thank you" to NetObjects, which is a ideal tool. and it's so happy to hear NetObjects Phoenix is coming soon.

I thought this was MY little secret!
NetObject Fusion (NOF) is a hugely productive tool in my arsenal. While the focus of a review might be all the great features in the software--and there are so many, I would focus on what it has done for me.

I've used NOF since version 3.0 after trying everything else out there, including DreamWeaver. NOF was simply the tool I needed to get the job done fast and make it look great. In fact, you can buy the program, and have a professional site in only minutes--if you type fast--using their templates.

As I've progressed through my career, I've relied on tools to give my work a really professional touch: NetObjects, PhotoShop, Quark XPress, and a few really good font and graphics packages. People are stunned at both my creativity and productivity. I wish it was all my doing, but in fact, it is the productivity and control these tools give me.

One of the questions I'm often asked by newer staffers is how to progress their career. One of the things I always mention is to buy the tools you need to make YOU look good. This goes for employees as well as consultants and small business folks.

I've designed dozens of websites with NOF, including LeadEater.com, MikeGrigsby.com, LindaChandler.com, SeminarLove.com, HeavenlySounds.com, just to name a few. Along the way I've converted a lot of people to NOF and the business owners have often bought the program so they can maintain the site for themselves. I don't mind because I enjoy the creative aspect that the program gives me, and I don't enjoy the maintenance as much. This is a must-have tool in your professional arsenal!

I think that NetObject did a great job in making a program that's easy handling, and very very good to make a nice website and to learn more and more from the program untill your a skilled webmaker. But there is one major problem i have with Netobject Fusion 4.0; i finally made a very nice site; and i desperatly want to get in on the net (for example a project for school)and i have a free webspaceprovider like geocities; fill in the user ID and my password (in the Publish Area) as remote host i fill in ftp.geocities.com; so everything must be correctly filled in; so i expect it to work but of cours it doesn't and that is why i'm disapointed in NetobjectsFusion Greetings from a also disapointed Dutch Boy !!!! ... Not Happy
I was looking forward to recieving this software, only to find out that you can only use the store you create with a Windows server.It would have been nice to know that before I bought it.

e-commerce review
I have found this program extremely hard to understand and use.I own frontpage, and think that it is much easier to navigate and get things accomplished.This program is not for begginers and I am in desperate need of help with it, but can't seem to find that either.Manual or not- I do not like this program.

Creating web or E-Commerce sites with E-Commerce const Kit
I've tried many applications, but frankly this new version 7 E-commerce contruction Kit from MacMillan publishing & Boomerang Software is absolutely great.
It was easy to isntall and use, the instructins were clear, it came with a printed user guide (which seems to be a luxury nowadays with software packs), and it did what it promised.
I can make regular web sites, but my real interest was to make E-Commerce sites, with a database using Access. It did this flawlessly. I could have used its internal Database to add my products, but I chose to directly import my Microsoft Access database of products and prices, which worked great.
Its Active Server Pages enable me to build and add more ASP code to create more dynamic and advanced features visually, which is very nice and powerful, I do not recall having seen such a thing anywhere else.

Interesting ebook, but not an ecommerce software
I ordered this product because I thought it might help me to get some experience on posting e-commerce web pages.And here is what I got.A box arrived in my mail that had a cd on it.I inserted the cd in my drive,went through installation and found I had bought a e-book on how variouspeople and companies carry out e-commerce--From the rascals who rip you offvia phone to the web page builders who want to build credit card processinginto their pages.I found that this book was too lengthy to read all, so Ijust scanned it and put it away.It was trying to tell me how to become asucessful marketer when all I needed was to post a web page with creditcard info on it.If you want to get the one program does all, try thatother one called E-Biz or something like that.The reviews are better andat least you won't be wasting your pocket change.Now if you want a surveyon every aspect of e-commerce known to a professional, and how to attemptto market your product, give this thing a try. ... eComm Store
I bought this software at a Fry's superstore. I previously read info about it on the Trellian website. After purchasing thisfor $39.99 plus tax I soon found out what a worthless piece of crap this software is. Furthermore you are forced to host it on their sight and pay extra monthly costs to recieve emails from your sales as well as a seperate monthly fee to have a simple product search engine on your site. Frankly if I buy a software for e-commerce I should not have to give a penny more to this company who made such a shabby software in the first place. Steer clear of this sucker.

"Like a Glove..."
Hmmm...I've been using this product for a couple of months now, and really like it. Got me set up quickly with it's templates, and is pretty simple to use. I bought it because I've used their Submit Wolf product to get other sites submitted fast, and used their other services for the "pay to play" engines. The checks for last month alone paid for everything...Works for me...

I purchased ecomm store and I don't like it. One thing is I didn't know that Trellian made this product until I received it. I thought it was made by trendmaster. I have a demo from Trellian it's one of there products and I don't like it either. Ecomm store freezes up, causing me to shut down many times when using it. A Nightmare.
If you are a startup e-biz I would steer clear of this offering from Macmillan. The product licensure was sold to Macmillan from its original developer "Boomerang Software" over two years ago and Boomerang no longer provides support for the product. Its hosting requirements are rather strict, and I found much of it complicated, particularly for the beginner. Dynamic pages were also VERY difficult to adapt from their pre-set templates. Boomerang designed this product to be used in conjunction with merchant handler "securepay.com". Once you design your e-commerce site using the software, a wizard directs you to apply for a merchant account setup with securepay which costs hundreds of dollars, leaving you with little or no choice to shop around for another, less costly payment gateway. I also found several curious programming errors in the product. The instructional documentation was frought with typos and poorly printed illustrations. My advice would be to save your money, and keep shopping.

Advertising not very truthful and very misleading
I purchased the program based on the information available on the box and the information I could find at the time on the internet.Nothing is stated that you have to use their service to host and you are stuck with monthly fees.This is only available when you open the box and discover you paid a lot for something you have to continue to pay for.Sort of like that gates fellow does only worse.lol.I was not happy with this mandatory hosting fee and consider it very misleading on the surface.I see that many people quote happiness with the easibility but I would not even venture further after discovering the additional money I must pay in order for the software to perform.Not a good advertising ploy but possibly effective if you figure in the statistics of it all.Looking at the reviews it does seem to work for some people.

eMerchantPro has terrible customer service
I've used eMerchantPro for about 18 months. The product is simple to use and quickly produces a professional looking website. The shopping cart works really well. The inventory and order notification works great. I have been pretty satisfied. However, THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL!!!If you have a technical problem or a question- you are on your own. They don't reply to emails and you will sit on hold until you give up. Don't try to copy any strange graphics or links (eg hit counters, links to Amazon, etc) into one of your webpages or it will lock up everything and you won't be able to edit your pages.

Great but...
This is a great product---I was really impressed with the ease with which one could customise it. The templates were superb. I was able to create a business site in an evening. The only downside to the product is that youare FORCED to host your site with the owners of the product. I had awebsite before I bought the product, and I wasn't ready to have twodifferent websites. If you don't have a business site and you are ready tohost your site with the owner of the program, this is probably the bestproduct there is. However, if you are trying to upgrade an existing sitewith ecommerce capabilities, this might not be suitable for you--unless ofcourse you are ready to pay for two sites at the same time.

Wasted time & money
It is supposed to be easy, they say.I read the other reviews here and they make it sound pretty simple (even though they sounded a lot like marketing brochures), so I make the jump... and end up knee-deep in a mess. First off, I want to keep using my netscape browser: NO, I am told, youmust use ONLY the Microsoft browser.next, I want to use my new imac I gotfrom the kids:NO, I am told, you must use ONLY a windows computer.Sofine, I install microsfot's internet explorer on my windows computer...14hours later, I am STILL trying to figure out how this product even works! affordable ecommerce
i ordered the software last month and so far i'm happy with my purchase. i didn't need a high-tech ecommerce solution, just something that was easy to use and affordable and i have no major complaints about the software. my product line changes often so its very convenient to be able to change my products with a few clicks. the templates are nice looking. i'd reccommend this software to any body who needs a quality shopping cart and does not have enough money to get a custom solution. its a good price for anyone who wants to sell on line.

good value for money
i bought the estore builder a week ago, and I'm pretty happy with it, it's easy enough to use and i think its good value considering the cost of ecommerce solutions. The templates are nice and it is easy to use, my only complaint is the product is not integrated with fedex or ups so you need to charge a flat rate on shipping or a percentage of the product's weight, i've worked around that problem, so my only other complaint is that the images must be below 75kb, i called their tech support line and although they were helpful they weren't able to fix that problem without some custom work at a higher cost. besides this, overall i am happy with this product and it is good value for money

Great product! I'm really pleased with it.
I'm not usually compelled to write reviews for things that I buy on Amazon but WOW, this product is awesome and super affordable! I asked a local web team how much it would be to put my business online and they wanted $5,000 ! But with the estorebuilder I've got a better solution for only $249 and no monthly fees or maintenance! The shipping was really quick too! I had the box a mere 3 days after I ordered it! The payment gateway is a totally awesome feature and the templates are top-class.If you want to save money and time building a website then this product is for you!

I bought the eStoreBuilder last week cause I was looking for an inexpensive way to put my business online and I am so pleased with it! The estorebuilder is so easy to use it's incredible. You can add and change your products with one click with no programming experience. I had my store live online in less than 2 hours! Their customer service is awesome too, really friendly and efficient. Not for those who like control of their coding
I used to use this software up until August of 2002.I am forced to give it only three stars only because of its annoying lack of allowing the user to edit the source code of individual pages.Fusion operates much like a desktop publishing program.Those familiar with this will find no trouble transitioning to Fusion.On the other hand, anybody who has good knowledge of HTML should look elsewhere.I've made the transition from Fusion to Notepad rather smoothly.The software has templates, sure.However, those knowledgeable enough to implement a template outside what is included should find no trouble using a more complicated package.

Too early in the versions
While I found the concept and price in line with what I wanted to do, the implementation was another story. I did not have the ability to create enough branches on the tree structure to make my site the way it would make sense. Couple that with the product crashing often and rewriting my layouts and graphics made it very frustrating.Customer support wound up telling me to use the tool menu to rebuild the data base, (Not well covered in the manual) which does fix most problems but you have to do it over and over.... Their main response at the end after trying to give a lot of relevant feedback was that "this is only version 1.1, we're still working on it". Makes me wish they were not in such a hurry to get it to market. Bottom line: If you have a small shop with a few items, (12 for their instant store settings) then it will be fine. If you are doing a bigger store or have say 12 product lines or more, the known bugs will blow you out of the water and you need to look elsewhere. It just is not flexible enough or stable enough.

I have used numerous different e-commerce applications, and this is one of the more thourough versions that I have seen. Complete listing of unlimited items, graphic support, customizable templates, and much more is yours fora fraction of what an item with this many features usually runs.
