Another fake review posted by LaGarde.
If you believe that real users posted all of the great fake reviews then maybe you should invest in StoreFront.I once clicked on the "5452554543532 (see more about me)" link and it went back to a guy named Bob LaGarde who happens to be the owner of the company.What a jackass!Who does that?Goes in and puts postings of how great his company and his products are and then doesn't cover up his tracks.I think Amazon needs to remove this company's product from their website for unethical use of the rating system.It is people like this Bob LaGarde that give the industry a bad name.By the way, I checked out their demo and if you want the real story, the people who posted how horrible the software and support is are pretty accurate.

Worst shopping cart and support there is!
I spent over a month trying to get this program to work with my software.When I would try to preview the cart, nothing would show up.I had entered nearly my entire inventory.When I called tech support, they said there was a problem with how I set it up and to delete everything I had entered.I started over and entered only a couple of items and it still would not work. I tried to get help from tech support, but it was useless.They did not know how to help and their response time was awful.They refused to give me a refund on the program.I had purchased it through Amazon.com and luckily, they refunded my money.If I were thinking of buying a shopping cart program, I would stay away from this one.

A $170.99 HEADACHE
First off, I did not buy this product myself (thank goodness).I was asked by an associate to help set up this new "e-commerce software", because I'm somewhat computer savvy.Everything I could say about this product has already been said by others.Those that say it's great.....I just don't believe you (do you own shares in this company?).If you do buy it, have lots of patients with both the software and the tech support......you'll need it.We eventually took it back, exchanging it for something that only cost about $50.00.It worked like a dream, there was just no comparison.Expensive is not always best and that's certainly true in this case.

Terrible package
Thats what I have to say.I am an ASP Programmer and have been buildingwebsites for over 2 years now.I got this package so it could help meprovide readymade solutions in shoppingcart,shipment calculations,tax etc.This package has a very high learning curve.Inspite of being in ASP I had alot of difficulty finding my way through this package for solutions I waslooking for.The documentation which comes with this package is verysketchy. Being a programmer and on top of that spending money for a readymade solutions program but still finding it very difficult to movethro....you get a picture I guess of what I mean. I bought the SQL Serveroption with the pack and then I found that the SQL Option is purely meantas an interface format for the application.No SQL Database comes with thepackage. I just could not find out thro their documentation how to importthe sql database developed by me into the application - kept gettingerrors. I emailed them and as of today (three weeks) I have yet to receivea reply. The support for this pack is sketchy,vague and not informativeenough to help you to a solution.There is a newsgroup where other customerssubmit their problems , but there are few solutions offered and the rangeof problems indicates to me that people dont get their solutions on time ornever.

Surprisingly I find the negative reviews for this product beingtaken off periodically, which creates doubts in my mind about the cleanimage of amazon.com.

Hard to implement, poor support, give this a miss...
I bought StoreFront 6.0 directly from LaGarde.I found it difficult to implement.Support staff were largely inexperienced.They could never get the e-mail confirmation feature to work.Some of our customer orders would get "lost" between PayPal and the StoreFront software.Quantities can not be changed (we sell some products by the kilogram, others by the dozen).The list of states is not connected to pull-down list of countries, so U.K. customers need to search through all the U.S. states and Canadian provinces to find their U.K. county.I have requested a refund under their 30 day "no excuses" guarantee and am still waiting.I recommend Actinic e-commerce software instead:I had our store up and running with Actinic in a few hours.Battled with StoreFront for over five weeks, and it never worked.

StoreFront made selling online easy
Building an online store with this software was a heck of a lot easier than I expected.Integrates beautifully and logically with FrontPage.I had products for sale, taking credit cards, shipping (with realtime rate quotes) through UPS in no time.I saved a lot of time over downloading and integrating scripts.

This is a real time saver.

Very Poor Support.
I bought this software directly from 'Lagarde'. Their sales people convinced me and I found the features very attractive. But how good the features are if there is no support. A very poor support department is unable to handle after sales support.At the time of this writing my webstore is down for last 25 days due to some error in their application. They have neither done any thing nor they have any answer on when it will be fixed. Now I am stuck and suggest that if you want to build a good business, do not use this company and their software as your technology base. Look somewhere else.

Oops, we forgot to mention...
After you read all the reviews and read the site info, you think that this is a can't miss product. Well it all started out when I purchased this product straight from the publisher... After completing the checkout, I realized that I didn't get asked about shipping. A few minutes later I received and email with a link telling me where I could download this software. The bundle is an 11Mb file.

After downloading the software and installing it....oh wait, it doesn't install. This product doesn't work with Windows XP Home edition. You only find that out after some careful reading on LaGarde's website under product support. You would think that this is something that you might want to know before you get this far.

It just so happened that I had a copy of XP Pro as well. So I tried to install in under XP Pro. Nope....same errors. I used LaGarde's online chat technical support. Their advice was to go out and get the web extension from Microsoft for FrontPage. Did that and installed them. Still can't install StoreFront. At this point I sent an email asking for a refund under their 30 day money back guarantee. I am still waiting for my refund.

Flawed product - not fully upgradeable
We operate two web stores, one with over 1000 individual products, and used StoreFront 2000 Merchandiser Edition because we needed inventory tracking.We upgraded to the StoreFront 5.0 Advanced Edition.This requires that we update our database using a StoreFront provided utility program.

We've been using StoreFront because it had the features we needed at a competitive price.Prior to this upgrade, we've been satisfied with their product.

The Product Manager in StoreFront 5.0 is unable to read our inventory information in the converted file (a MS Access file).This is forcing us to manually re-enter inventory info on over 1000 items.

How hard can it be for programmers to read one database and write the info into another database?All their Product Manager needs to do is read their own database and transfer the quantities to the new database. ...
This is our third upgrade of their product and we feel they're providing inadequate support for existing customers.We'll shop around next time. ... Read more

Waste of Money
This program is the worst I have ever tried.The instructions are confusing and half the information you need to set it up isn't even there.The program doesn't work like it says it does.

No Technical Support
I found this program to work well in setting up an e-commerce site, after overcoming the associated problems.There are 3 different type of E-Commerce sites you can set up, one uses their own (Boomerang Software) credit card processing.I feel they try to steer you to use this as they give no help for the other 2 and give no directions at all in how to implement SSL security even though they say you must use it.Every time I ran into a problem I was left with no help as every call or e-mail to the Boomerang Technical Support Group met with no answers and only more questions.Once they even laughed at me over the phone because they didn't know how to fix the problem I was encountering with an ASP and they told me I would have to rewrite the code myself to fix the problem.So if you are a novice then you should look somewhere else or make sure you have a software savy friend to help. ...
