Useless
Not worth one star.
This is undoubtedly the worst instruction manual I have ever seen.A book would be light years faster than this monster.If you enter a search word it takes absolutely forever searching through the disk.
Then you find inane statements.
I loaded the entire CD onto my hard disk and that is not much an improvement. Why it is even marketed?

Mastering Quickbooks 2003 Pro
For the price the product is pretty good. It teaches you the features of Quickbooks well.I purchased another CD ROM for $6 that covers very little.This is definitely superior. I'm sure you can spend about $100 for a better one.

Very Poorly Done
Don't waste your time with this one. All it does is read out loud the instructions already written on the screen. There's no explanation given for the important decisions it asks you to make. (i.e. fiscal year vs. calendar year, examples of how a catagory might be used) ... Read more

Don't buy this product.It won't work with office 2000 without a patch-I got patch and still didn't work. Canon does not support software.If you call the number given by canon, the number is disconnected. Why clutter your hard drive with applications, when a single suite can fulfill all your daily productivity needs? AppleWorks 5 offers a comprehensive palette of flexible tools that let you write, draw, paint, juggle figures, organize data, and create presentations with ease.

The word processor's typical button bar gives you access to the most common formatting options, and although there's no grammar check or auto-correct feature, AppleWorks makes creating columns and wrapping text around images easy. The drawing application is best suited for flowcharts or maps, while the paint application better handles scanned images or original art. In any case, the tools are easy to find, and you'll appreciate being able to store clip-art libraries and textures in accessible floating palettes.

The spreadsheet includes a comprehensive array of formulas as well as an equation editor, and the database is a solid-list management tool with some nifty quick-sorting options. The weakest link is the communications package--barely more than a simple terminal program--and the very basic HTML creation.

Taken separately, each program has some nice features, but none qualifies as a powerhouse. Where AppleWorks shines is in its ease of use and in the way the applications are integrated. A single button will add a spreadsheet to your word processing document, and creating a mail merge from database records simply involves pointing and clicking. As you switch between applications (or data types), the button bar will automatically change to reflect the tools available.

The button bar itself can be customized to reflect your own work habits by adding predefined functions, macros, and even AppleScripts. Very Good Product
Much better then ClarisWorks 4.0! Hint: If you have ClarisWorks 5.0, you don't need to buy AppleWorks. If you have Internet access, go to VersionTracker and type in 'ClarisWorks 5.0.3'. This will change the overall appearance and name of ClarisWorks to AppleWorks.

Time, time, time
It's incompatible with my MacLinkPlus; everything must become Appleworks 5 before it can then be translated into AW6 and the same thing works in reverse. I can't cut & past text from my old fave WordPerfect for Mac. And it's the slowest somemabitch, at least in iMac X+, that I've ever had the impatience to work with. Spinning wheel: working, working, working, all right already: finish working! It's basically sound, but I can't call up the usually codes to see what is really going on, as I could with WordPerfect. Its translation to html is a nice attempt but full of hesitancies, mistranslations, & that goddamned eternal spinning wheel: processeing, processing. I really think I *could* like this word process if they fixed up the speed, efficiency, & translatability, & added the "seeing within" features I like. [I had hoped WordPerfect would make something for Mac X+, but they say no.]
