Procomm Plus DOES Work with XP
I write Aspect scripts that are used everyday by hundreds of clients, a large portion of them XP.Our scripts involve highly complex bbs navigations, and they all work!

Must have.
I'm a road warrior that test telecom equipment. and Procomm plus is a must have for VT-320 emulations.

ProComm Plus DOES NOT work with Windows XP,You can make it dial, but you cannot use a .dir file, aspects, or scripts.

HyperAccess is a decent communication app.
I've used HyperAccess for many years and have a lot of experience with the JavaScript and VBScript used for automated connections.If you plan to record a session and use it later it will work... okay.What you really need to do is record the session then go in an code all the error handling, branching and timeouts yourself - this makes it very useful.The wizard, as with most script recorders, is just not that intelligent.

Run this under Windows NT or later.I've found the stability of HyperAccess on 95/98/ME to be less than desirable.At work we push HyperAccess to several hundred dialouts per day and under 95/98/ME it loses connectivity to the COM port too frequently. This is not a missed connection but the software literally cannot find the communication port after running for a period of time. (4-6 times per week if running constantly) It typically takes a reboot to resolve the problem.

Support from Hilgraeve is spotty at best.Contact I've made with them took several days to receive a response.The response I did get from support were fair but not necessarily all that useful. You have to push for what you want in this respect. (squeaky wheel...)

BTW, my rating is really 3.5 stars due to weak support.

I had a need to automate a telnet script to run unattended.Every expert I talked to said they thought it could be done, but nobody knew how.After a little research I found this product and downloaded their free 15 daytrial.

beats the old mac extension
I purchased Conflict Catcher to replace the existing extension that came with 9.1 because of problems with the software. It crashes, hogs some memory and has limited function compareable to the most colorful Conflict Catcher which has more function than a hard bound encyclopedia. Its function is apparent during the start up and you can adjust the icons to its smaller size to avoid less clutter on the desktop upon startup. You can make multiple sets of extensions to reduce the amount of existing extensions needed so the computer can run smoothly without slowing down. If there is conflict with a particular extension software, the Conflict catcher will alert you to it so you can make a decision to ignore the problem extension software entirely, or even better, to delete the offending extension to ensure a smooth ride to your desktop. ...
