As a coldfusion developer since 1995, I recently purchase MX 7 from ShopEZ.com (My Amazon affiliate site developed using Coldfusion)I selected the super-saver (free) shipping option.I was amazed when the box showed up the Next Day!It was $73.51 Cheaper than buying direct from Macromedia.

Web Magnet sorts, catalogs,and downloads images, sound files, and video clips from the Web to aspecified folder. It can search any number of Web sites, as well asmajor search engines and Usenet newsgroups, based on a keyword orfilename.

Here's how it works: smaller files such as still images(including JPEG and GIF) and sound files (like MP3) are downloadedimmediately as matches to the search are found. Because of the size ofmost video files like MPEG and MOV, matches for these searches are only listed, not downloaded; files can then beindividually selected for downloading.

As search matches for imagefiles are found, Web Magnet creates a thumbnail preview for each. Mostimage files can be viewed in Web Magnet's image viewer, but (oddlyenough) GIF files cannot. Also, sound files and video clips cannot be viewed inside Web Magnet andrequire their own viewer.

Speed is of the essence when it comes to atool like this, and Internet connection speed really determines how useful or painful using Web Magnet can be. Web Magnet Is Great!
This is a very powerful tool for those who like todownload images and sound clips. You can add moresearch engines to it very easily. If you don't want to spend 5 hours surfing for specific images,let Web Magnet do it for you while you do other things. If things are out there Web Magnetwill get them for you automatically and in great abundance.There is ashort learning curve if you want to use it to your full advantage. You mustread the very nice manual that comes with it to get the most out of it.What this program does in essence is acts as a Master search engine thatutilizes other search engines to do its work. You can add as many newinternet search engines to it as you desire. These all work in parallel tofind what you want. They will follow links to other sites. You canconfigure Web Magnet to go down into a website to as many layers as youdesire, within reason of course. It can be configured to ignore slow sitesor include them. Minimum image size can be specified. All your downloadstuffis saved to special folders that you create. You can set it up touse specific file types that are cogent to your search. You can add filetypes to its file types lists. And now for a little downside stuff. I hadto rate this program with 5 stars because it is so very efficient and doeswhat it says it will do, and is extreemly easy to use. However there are acouple of small issues that I feel you who read this should be aware of.Like any search engine you should be very specific in the search text as towhat you are looking for and you might have to play around with words alittle for it to find what you want. Also like most search engines it willreturn to you some content that you have no wish for and that has nothingin reality with what you are searching for. In other words it is notperfect. But then nothing is. When I first ran this program my security logshowed that along with its normal search module it had another module thatjumped to the internet and connected to a site ... . I don't know if this is automaticregistration or what it is, but I don't like it doing this behind my back.I immediately configured a rule to block this site from receiving anythingfrom my comuter. This piece of information is for those who care. OtherwiseI am delighted ten times over with Web Magnet and would recommend it toanyone. I use a dial up connection and can only imagine how awsome thisprogram would be if connected to a DSL service.
