If it was free, I wouldn't use it.!
Definitely a waste, no help at all. Crank up yourMicrosoft word and get a book called "How to say It...In your job search" by Robbie Miller Kaplan. Now that is worth every penny!

Don't Waste Your Money!

Could be better.
Winway Resume 6.0 is not very user friendly. They could've made things alot more easier with a more advanced tool bar for short cuts. The templatesare good, but I recommend allowing users to keep their font styles whilethey switch between themes instead of losing their font settings and havingto start all over. When you make changes to font styles in certain sections(address and phone number section for example), the font changes only applyto the line you edited (address)instead of the whole section (address andphone number). I am also getting error messages from Windows 98 when I tryto print:"Winway caused an invalid page fault GDI.exe the program willbe terminated". Sometimes I'm able to print, but several other timesthe program just shuts down! I downloaded the free updates before I eventried the software. Unfortunately, none of the updates had anything to dowith my current problem. I hope they get this ironed out soon. If yourbuying this software thinking it will get you a job, your wrong. Can' Figure It Out
Although I was able to use this software on my old computer, when I tried to install it on my new computer the serial number I had already used on the old computer was rejected on the new one. I was able to install one CD out of four without keying in the serial number. I emailed Corel.com and they were of no help even though I'm registered with them. So I say, the heck with it. I'll continue using my Microsoft wordprocessing software.

Not the full version of WP 10!
This package states that it comes with WordPerfect 10 and nowhere does it say that it is anything but the FULL version.But it is NOT!After installing, I was astounded to learn that there is NO search function (Quickfinder)!I don't consider searching files to be some "full featured professional" function that can just be dropped from a "home" version-- it's pretty basic stuff.How Corel can just drop it is beyond me.Oh sure, it may be some third-party software that would have additional licensing fees, but give me a break!What good is a word processor without the ability to search its own files?!?! Shame on COREL!

Unsupported Crippleware
Corel claims this product contains WP10.The version is not the same as that shipped with its office products.It is slow. Generation of pdf files brings a 1.2 GHz, 512 MB mem system to its knees.It hangs while printing.Patches are not apparent on the Corel web site.

Won't initialize
The program appeared to install correctly but when I try to access it the Word Perfect Logo comes up with no serial number listed, then an error box that it cannot initialize. The serial number was entered and accepted during installation. I spent an hour, at my expense(no 800 number) with Corel with no resolution. So now I have a program that is of no use to me.

Always liked WordPerfect
Always liked WordPerfect and the packaging in this group is great.

Had been looking for virus software anyway and when I saw the rebates offered on this suite thought I couldn't lose.

Gave it only 4 stars because manual is lame. Only limited info included and that is mostly for WordPerfect.

One warning tho', be careful when installing the McAfee. If you are a Windows 98 user you might run into some trouble especially if you have an older version already installed. (I had a demo/temp version that came with my computer.) Haven't looked, but McAfee customer service said there were instructions on installing this under those conditions on their web site. This bug will cause your machine to not boot properly; so make sure you visit the site first. Fix was straightforward and the rep was very knowlegdable and easy to talk to. Haven't had any trouble since then. Wouldn't let this stop me from buying the Family Pack or installing the McAfee.

Haven't sent in the rebates yet, but it is a shame that to get a decent manual to use with WP or Quatro it will cost more than the all of the software included in the pack. ... Read more

More than sufficient suite for most people
It's a testimony to how far this once great produce has fallen that there are only 18 reviews posted as of my writing.

WP SUITE CONS
I'm a WP user from back when it and Lotus 1-2-3 were THE killer apps.Though I own WP 2000, I tend to use MS Office.Here's why:
* Excel is far more powerful and has a better interface than Quattro Pro
* PowerPoint is head-and-shoulders easier to use than Presentations
* CorelCentral PIM is virtually worthless compared to Outlook
* Presentations does not preserve formatting of PowerPoint files
* WordPerfect struggles to preserve formatting for Word docs if there are tables (particularly with merged cells) or outlines in the Word doc

WP SUITE PROS
* Paradox is an easy tool for learning about relational databases; it is far easier to use than Access, though not as powerful
* WordPerfect drawing tools are superior to MS Word drawing tools
* WordPerfect is still better for laying out complex documents; the 'reveal codes' feature alone is invaluable--why didn't MS copy that somewhere along the way?
* It costs less

PURCHASING RECOMMENDATION
If you do not have to exchange files with MS Office users and do not need advanced spreadsheet or advanced presentations features, get WP Suite. WordPerfect is as good as Word.And Quattro Pro and Presentations have great basic and good intermediate functionality.

If you regularly exchange files with MS Office users but do not need to put tables or other complex formatting in your Word document, get WordPerfect.

But if you really need file compatibility with Office and/or advanced spreadsheet and presentation capability, Office is a better choice than WordPerfect.But there is an alternative...

AN ALTERNATIVE
As much as I would like WordPerfect to survive as a viable alternative to Microsoft's empire, Corel is on its last leg and WP has steadily lost market share over the last 10 years to the point that I don't see how Corel can afford to produce and support it.Sun's StarOffice (available as an opensource application under the name OpenOffice) is a great alternative to MS Office.StarOffice does a far better job of exchanging docs with MS Office.

Better but only after you flush WP9 out of your computer
I hated WP10.I have used Word Perfect since the first Windows addition but this was worse than version 8 which was a disaster.But then I found out that my problem was that I needed to take WP9 out of my computer before installing the upgrade.Looks like the Word Perfect folk could and should have made that automatic.But once you do that it seems to run much better with very few problems.I also have Microsoft Windows 2000 in my computer.Wordperfect is superior, especially for desk top publishing.

Tempted to switch over to MS Word
As a steadfast user of Wordperfect for several years, I had hoped to continue this good relationship with the newest version. Instead, I have found frustration and feel that I am better acquainted with the "recovery wizard" that any of the "new and improved" features of this product. Frustrations abound as the program crashes once, twice, dozens of times as I attempt to go about my daily work. These crashes do not occur as I attempt to utilize the more sophisticated features; merely attempting to open a file seems to befuddle this flawed program. Is it just me or do others out there feel that the Corel company computers must be filled to bursting with their recovery wizard reports?

Good luck with the rebates.I'm still waiting for my Corel rebate that I mailed in June.

Save Your Money--Even With Discounts
I have been a steadfast user of WordPerfect since Version 5.0. As a journal editor, I receive manuscripts written in Word 2000 or WordPerfect. WordPerfect is the superior work processor in my experience.

However, the current "upgrade" from WordPerfect 9 to version 10 isn't worth the expenditure. The bugs in WP9 are mostly still there. I have found very little improvement in WP10 with respect to manuscript preparation, graphics, and file management. As one who uses Windows XP, I don't find WP10 fully compatible. Accessing a WP10 file can turn into a frustrating experience when the system goes into some kind of unresolvable loop, forcing an exit from WP10. I am also frustrated that the Corel calendar keeps trying to insert itself at system startup, even though I had indicated to the contrary during WP10 installation.

I will continue to use WordPerfect, but have decided to drop back to WP 9. The frustrations are fewer.

Operating System May be the Problem
I have not used WP2002, but have been a WP/Corel user for years.WordPerfect is clearly a better program than MSWord and while Excel has some good features, I prefer QuattroPro which is better designed and easier to use.

I have had various stability problems when multitasking on my computer until I upgraded from Windows 98 to Windows 2000.Now I almost never crash.It would be useful to know from those who have used WP2002 what operating system they are using.I'll bet that using Windows 95 or Windows 98 with the new WP2002 may be their problem. ... All of the World is Divided into Three Parts
All of the world is divided into three parts, Microsoft Word users, WordPerfect users and non-computer users.Being in the WordPerfect camp, I feel somewhat compelled to attempt to convert the Word crowd.If you are using Word, and you don't require all the "prodding whether you want it or not" that the Word program provides for formatting, spelling, etc., then WordPerfect is really something you should try and the Family Pack 3 is a nice way to go.As compared to Word, WordPerfect is a "cleaner" word processing program and is easier to use.All the tools are there, spell check, formatting and grammar help, they're just not as intrusive as they are in Word.I also prefer Quattro Pro, the spreadsheet program over Microsoft's Excel.When Quattro Pro was first introduced by Borland (a long time ago!) it was hands down better than Excel in graphing and analysis.While Excel has narrowed the gap, Quattro Pro still leads the way.This is a strong package at a very attractive price.

Forgot the difficult Address Book
As I said before it is great - BUT - to address an envelope is now difficult - in WordPerfect 6 it was easy.So far (about 1 week) I haven't been able to figure it out.But it still beats Word 2002 by a mile, which, "in a Word" stinks.

Sure beat MS Word
After paying [the money] for the Office XP "Upgrade", which included Word 2002, I was very disappointed.The upgraded Access and Excel didn't have very much new to offer.After using WordPerfect 6 for sometime, I thought the "latest" Word would be a vast improvement.It isn't. To add a caption to a picture is just about impossible.The two just won't stay together - I finally found a horribly round-about means of doing it, but it didn't look good and I finally gave up.Don't believe what is in the manual or what is "taught" in other manuals.
So, I purchased the WordPerfect Family Pack 3 for [price]minus a [price] rebate.Could anything this cheap be good??Well, it is head and shoulders over Word.The MS software creators should be ashamed!Adding a caption (which sticks with the photo/image) is simple and quick.To look at the hidden nuances of a paragraph is easy and complete.If you use Word now, buy this one.It won't be long before you recognize the superiority of WordPerfect 9!!!

I would have rated it with 5 stars but it didn't have the address book that the earlier versions have.That is my complaint for this version.

Word Perfect Is Word Is Not
I started my college career, using Apple, and it was fine. Then the college switched to Word Perfect and Word. I tried both and fell in love with Word Perfect because I found it to be exactly suited to my needs. Recently, my computer was upgraded and I lost my Word Perfect. I was forced to use Word. I HATE IT, especially that stupid sun wanting to help me type a letter. I am an accomplished typist,(90WPM for the last 40+ years). I don't want Word or its templates. I want what Word Perfect allows me to do--type my manuscripts, quickly and efficiently without over-riding my typing decisions. A friend recently said Word was invented for people who either couldn't type or couldn't format. That's fine for them. But for the rest of us, thank goodness WordPerfect is still around, because we much prefer the ease of using the Word Perfect processing system. ... Read more

Time, time, time
It's incompatible with my MacLinkPlus; everything must become Appleworks 5 before it can then be translated into AW6 and the same thing works in reverse. I can't cut & past text from my old fave WordPerfect for Mac. And it's the slowest somemabitch, at least in iMac X+, that I've ever had the impatience to work with. Spinning wheel: working, working, working, all right already: finish working! It's basically sound, but I can't call up the usually codes to see what is really going on, as I could with WordPerfect. Its translation to html is a nice attempt but full of hesitancies, mistranslations, & that goddamned eternal spinning wheel: processeing, processing. I really think I *could* like this word process if they fixed up the speed, efficiency, & translatability, & added the "seeing within" features I like. [I had hoped WordPerfect would make something for Mac X+, but they say no.]
