Great tool - too heavy
I've had a little giant for years - actually bought one at an exposition hall live product demonstration.The system works exceptionally well.I've had no problems with quality, utility, or durability.The only complaint I have is that the ladder is too heavy for my wife or really anyone else in the household to handle.This really cuts down on the utility as a step ladder.

It's true what they say .....
After years of seeing the Little Giant advertised on TV and seeing it at trade shows I finally broke down and ordered one for my new home.My 30 year old 5 ft wooden step latter just wasn't cutting it anymore with our high ceilings, gutters to maintain, etc.After doing a bit of research I decided to get the Model 17 1A which has a 4 - 7 ft range on the step ladder function which is sufficient for my one story ranch house.

The ladder comes fully assembled in one box, along with the work platform, a DVD which essentially is the TV ad, and a reasonably good instruction booklet.First impression was it was built like a tank; extremely solid construction and good workmanship.No sharp aluminum corners or sloppy joints were evident.Using the Little Giant is a snap; just undo the four spring loaded leg lock tabs and extend the inner portion of the ladder to the desired height and let the lock tabs snap back into place with authority.Then release the two hinge lock pins which have a big orange/red button, and open the ladder until they snap back into position and it's all ready for use.This ladder is so solid and stable my 200 lb body doesn't even make it flinch.It is solid as a rock, even when working at the full 7 ft height.Very confidence inspiring compared to the usual rikkety wood or flimsy aluminum ladders we are all used to.

The accessory work platform was a bit tricky to understand how to work it, but it seems to work fine.I've only tried it a couple of times and it, too, supports my weight with no problem.A nice touch is the ladder will sit on its feet in an upright position which facilitates storage as you don't have to lean it against the wall.

The major downside is the weight.This ladder weighs in at about 32 lbs and is a bit bulky for light duty work.The wife may find it a bit unwieldy to change a lightbulb, for instance.(There are lighter Little Giant ladders available.)But the Little Giant lives up to its billing as far as I can see.It's not cheap but I doubt you'll ever have to buy another ladder.Add in the safety features (stability and weight rating) and it is a reasonably priced ladder.

Cost is still the same
The product review states the ladder is sold on tv for $89 times 4 payments. The review also states the ladder is "much less". Lets see I added 89 x 4 = $356. You folks are selling the ladder for $359. Correct me if I'm wrong but there is no savings there. ... Read more

Best Humidifier I've Ever Owned!!!
This is absolutely the best humidifier I've ever owned.It doesn't leave the floor and walls wet!I live in Alabama and in the winter, I usually have to refill it every to every day.In the summer it can be extremely humid here so it rarely runs.I read in one review where it was hard to refill the tank in the tub since you have to turn the tank upside down to refill it, but I've never had a problem refilling the tank.I love the fact that you can put the tank in the dishwasher.As far as the sound, I usually have mine set on the lowest speed which is quiet.On the highest speed, it's about as loud as having an osculating fan going in your room.Some people might like itbecause it drowns out all white noise.All I can say is....My skin isn't dry anymore..My sinuses are open and my lips are no longer chapped!!!!!!I would highly recommend the TrueAir Cool Mist Humidifier to anyone!!!!Did I mention this humidifier was suppose to be for my daughter but after using it in my bedroom, I decided I needed it more.I'm going to be purchasing another one for my daugther's room!

A very nice unit at any price
This is an excellent humidifier, especially for the price. It's very quiet. A filter typically lasts almost an entire season here in dry Arizona (usually October til April or whenever we turn the swamp cooler back on). It keeps our 3 back bedrooms humidified nicely just as long as you don't open the windows of course. I only fill it up every other day at most during driest times (outside humidity = 9% today!)
The only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars is that the humidistat failed after 3 years of use. From my experience with these types of units 3 years is pretty good service and at this price it's really fantastic. I'm about to purchase another one...

very good unit
I did a lot of research before deciding on this particular humidifier, and I am glad we got the one we did. It is very quiet, it seems to be made very well, and is relatively sturdy. When the weather gets dry, our entire house is way too dry. Skin, furniture, houseplants...I talked my husband into trying this humidifier, and have to recommend it highly. I'd buy another just like it if I had use for another one, but this pretty much does the whole house. Hamilton Beach is still a good name.

Convenient and effective!
I bought two different humidifiers- a Slant/Fin warm mist and this True Air.Although we really like our Slant/Fin for the baby's room, this unit is much easier to clean.It is rather noisy when the water tray is filling (it makes a glugging sound that sounds like someone knocking on your window in the middle of the night- spooky!), but for ease of use and maintenance, it can't be beat.The noise factor is less when you put it in "quiet" mode and after a dy or so, you just get used to it.We have VERY hard water and the filters don't need to be changed as often as with most humidifiers which is a long-run cost savings.I recommend this item and have done the research- replacment filters are cheapest through Amazon (cheaper than at the manufacturers website).

Works Great! Just what I wanted...
After reading all the mixed reviews on this product, I bought it anyway as it seemed the best deal for the amount of space I needed to humidify (1100- 1200 sf).I was pregnant and it was winter and I was getting pretty dehydrated from the drying heat in my apartment.Within days I was sleeping soundly waking refreshed and no longer having headaches.I would have given this 5 stars but it's the first I bought and I cannot make any comparisons.

I am not sure what the reviewers that reviewed this product badly expected, having to refill it often just means that it is putting a lot of moisture into the air, the noise is not overwhelming and is similar to any white noise often used to put and keep kids asleep, I had no problem refilling it, my 2 year-old even liked to help, finally if you turn the filters faithfully once a week 2-3 filters should last the season.

Awesome ladder, very useful
I've owned one of these for 19 years....it used to be called103model 22 .and used it for everything.It's particularly good as a very solid stepladder....especially since you can stagger the leg lengths and use it on stairs, for very safe work.As an extension ladder the wide stance of the legs makes it safer than almost any extension ladder.It's 19 yrs old and looks brand new. The price here is real cheap too....19 yrs ago I paid about this much for it....now it's much cheaper in real dollars.It's too heavy for your wife or a small guy to handle....but that's what helps make it stable. Ithas hinges that are extremely strong and never wear.....and for how long it is when extended, it's small.It truly is a one ladder fits all....if you work around your house, paint, hang wallpaper, do maintenance, etc. it's a real bargain...and built so well you'll hand it down to your kids... ... #1 It is not a vac for CARPET!!! The box even says not for carpets. It is a hard floor vac. It does great, vacs up everything!
I have heard that the pads don't work well. I disagree, the pads are the best ever! So thick, so absorbent!
I have a messy husband, messy cats, very messy rabbit and semi-messy ferrets. All the rabbit waste, cat food, clumpy paper fillers get sucked up!

The cleaner scent is clean, but not over powering like other mops.

The vac sucked up some plastic that was more then it could handle and the motor burned out. Luckily there is a year warranty on the product ( fill out those cards ! )

No, it won't suck up everything your family has dropped on the floor. It's not meant too, just things smaller then the nozzle can handle.
And if it falls apart, use your warranty people!

Only cons: the filter and pads are not easy to find. But your on here anyway, may as well buy some from Amazon.
Dirt container could be a tad bigger, for less trips to the garbage.

Going Back to my Swiffer Mop
I had been wanting one of these for a while. We have a lot of tile flooring and I had been using a Swiffer mop, which was pretty good.The Vac n Mop is pretty much useless.The vacuum part does not get much dirt up and the mopping pads are very thin and leave streaks of dirt all over the floor.
I would not recommend this product to anyone unless they want to mop an already clean floor.
Another thing to add to my appliance graveyard!

Great for small cleaning jobs!
I bought this to use for small cleaning jobs, not expecting it to take the place of a mop and broom. This is great if you use it in between your major cleanings. I have a husband who seems to think he will drop dead if he wipes his feet and a 4 year old. My floor gets messy. I would have to sweep my floor several times a day and mop all the time. With this I can run it over the floor and it takes less than half the time as sweeping does. And I don't have to drag out my mop 2 or more times a week. I can spot mop just the mess. Then I only have to do a entire mopping once a week.

I do have to add, because it was given a bad review for this, This is not for carpet. This is a HARD floor cleaner. This is in no way meant to be used on carpet.

Not Good Buy
I bought this VAC/MOP recently and I am very upset that I did. The mop part of it works o.k. at best.The vac part is not worth anything.I threw some dirt on my carpet and the dirt wasn't even pushed down in the carpet and the Vacum could on get abuot 40%, it pushed as much in the carpet as it picked up.If you plan on using this only inthe kitchen or on hardwood floors I guess it is an O.K. buy but if you want to be able to clean up little messes elsewhere in your home forget this, it is a waist of money at best. ... WHAT ARE YOU PEOPLE USING THIS FOR??
I've had no problem with mine, but then again I'm not using it for sucking up loads of dog or cat hair or running it over carpet where it might pickup up objects that could damage the unit.It's called a SWEEPER not a vacuum.I don't care if it says it can do carpets.To me this is meant solely for floors.It does just great on my vinyl kithen floor and hardwood bedroom floors.The cordless operating system allows it to easily do things like stairs without tripping over a cord.It's powerful and fairly quiet.You're not going to get a good vacuum for $50 or so.If you want a vacuum, buy a vacuum.If you want a good floor sweeper that is powerful and easy to use, this is a great choice.

Shoddy Construction.2 Units failed
The two units that I purchased failed after a couple months of light use.When they fail, they start making horrible screeching or clashing gear sounds.My impression is that this unit is made of the cheapest materials possible.After returning the second failed unit I purchased a Dirt Devil M083414 Bagless Stick Vacuum that appears to work much better and costs only slightly more.

Don't buy this product! As noted in other reviews, I have been waiting 4 months for two battery packs. At first, I was so happy with it I bought one for my Mom. A few weeks later, they started getting noisy & weak. In less than 6 months the battery packs on both of our machines wouldn't charge more than about 20%. I too ordered replacement packs from the company OVER 4 months ago... still waiting. Can I give it less than one star?

WON'T LAST
I loved my EuroPro Shark, for the first few months that it worked.One day, it sucked up the fringe from a rug, and that was that.It now makes a strange noise and doesn't pick up anything anymore.

I went out an bought a Eureka cordless vac, which does the job.

Started with a Bang, went out with a whimper.
I was so excited and thrilled to have this product.It worked GREAT at first being a huge timesaver over ordinary sweeping with a broom.With the exception of the battery not maintaining a very good charge (I could only sweep one room at a time before it would lose its charge) I was extremely pleased with it.
However, after a few months it began making a strange sound and quit picking up anything.It appeared that the brushes were clogged and they wouldn't rotate anymore.My husband took it apart and fixed it but it was only a temporary fix.
If I could have a new one every 3 months I would love this product.Otherwise, I wouldn't waste my money on it.I was very disappointed to have to go back to regular broom sweeping. ... Read more

I purchased this ladder, and would have been quite satisfied with it, except that extended it was only 11 feet long instead of the advertised 13 feet.That was not quite long enough for my purposes.Other than that, the ladder seemed quite well built, and would have served well.I returned it because of insufficient length, and was disappointed only at that one factor.I have since found the 17 foot ladder, which will fulfill my lenght-needs much better.

Great Ladder!!!!!
This ladder is excellant, it is very sturdy and I have never had any problems with it locking at all. I have been on it with 2 people at the same time, over 500 lbs and it is rock solid. Yes it is a little heavy, but if you want quality construction that is the price you have to pay, but it is well worth it. It is the best and most versatile ladder I have ever owned, it works well indoors,outdoors,soft ground,soild ground and on level or unlevel ground, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if I had to. Definitely a good ladder!!!

Great Ladder - Don't listen to complaints
All I can say is ... "What a great functional ladder that is more sturdy than any ladder I've ever used!" To get a ladder of this quality for it's current price was a steal. Someone made about the latch giving way, I think that's just made up ... or ... it was not safely locked, cause once it's locked, nothing will make it come loose unless you mean for it to come loose. If your searching for a good dependable solidly built ladder, then look no further because this is it.

not preforming as expected
We got this machine to replace a lower-amp Hoover that had died.I was so excited to be getting a new one-I missed having an electric broom for the kitchen.We bought this model based on other reviews, especially since other people had bought it for cat litter.The first machine we got was defective, and we had to have Bissell send a new one.The new one does have suction, but it still performs way less than our old machine, which was actually a lower amp.The cat litter goes in, but falls right back out when you turn off the machine.I am just really disappointed.

Very Pleased for what this is
I am Very happy with this easy vac. It does an excellent job for daily maintenence of my hardwood floors w/ persian rugs.It has very good suction power and in my opinion does a great job under kitchen cabinets, etc along edges. It is so light and easy to use for a 9 month pregnant woman--much easier than dragging out my canister vaccum. NOTE: this will NOT replace a regular vaccum in my opinion. We have a thourough cleaning every 2 weeks and I then use this easy vac to keep up dirt, rocks, etc in between times. I use it daily bc it is so easy to use. and it will easily pick up small rocks, mud clods, etc my husband tracks in.also easy for cracks in upholstry ( again, easier than getting out regular vac).I returned a Roomba discovery SE bc it didnt do the job this vac does.I highly recommend this product for quick upkeep of house.

Vac does not suck
Very disappointed in the Bissell 3108 EasyVac Powerbrush.I purchased the product to clean my bare floors which are saltillo tile, ceramic, and brick.It would only pick up the smallest pieces of sand and some of the cat litter.Just did not have enough power to pick up much of anything.Bissell should not call this a POWER brush.It has no suction power.

Leaves a mess
Initially I was pleased with its pickup power (compared to our Shark), but I now view it as a failed $50 experiment.The major drawbacks are:

- As soon as the power is off, it drops all particles. If you've just cleaned up kitty litter, you'll find it all in a pile under the vac head on the floor once you turn it off.

- It creates a high-pitched whine, which actually caused my wife and I some ear pain.

- REALLY awkward to use on furniture...needs a brush attachment.

- No HEPA filter (forgot to check for this before buying it).

- Cord is just as short as the Shark's.

On the upside, it's lightweight.

I'll be donating mine to Goodwill, and am about to buy one of the fullsize vacs.

Amazing!!
I tried this vaccum as soon as it arrived - and I was so surprised to see the amount of dust in the bag! I have cleaned my room with my old vaccum almost once a week, but it looked like I hadn't clean the room at all for more than a month.

This vaccum is really powerful as the other reviews say - of course it cleans the hard-wood floor neatly and it catches literally everything even on the carpet.I used to wipe the carpet with my old vaccum again and again because it didn't catch almost anything but not any more.It picks up hair and even dust inside of the carpet.Now my carpet looks like a brand-new one!

You can also use this for cleaning the sofa.I usually study on the sofa, so it ends up having some tiny pieces from the snack, my hair... but this can clean them beautifully.

I felt it a little heavy to carry with (compare to my old vaccum which didn't pick anything) but it's worth the power it has.The vacuum come with the small nozl you can use for cleaning the corner of the room.

Expensive, but very quiet and effective
Having used a Venta humidifier in Germany several years ago, I was delighted to see that they are selling in the U.S. now as well. I had a case of sticker shock though, as they are now much more expensive than their older models used to be, but since I used to be very happy with them, I decided to go ahead and buy one anyway.

All Venta humidifiers belong to the class of cool mist humidifiers, which in my opinion is the best principle, as you don't "over-humidify" the room. Normally a cool mist humidifier has a filter that sucks up water from the tank and a fan blows air through the filter. Thus the water evaporates into the air and increases its humidity.

The difference in the Venta humidifier is that it doesn't use filters, but two arrays of plastic disks that rotate through the water. A fan on top of the device sucks suckes air through those disk arrays and the water drops that were lifted up from the tank evaporate.

One of my major gripes with other cool mist humidifiers is that the fan is very noisy even on the lowest setting. The Venta fan is pleasantly quiet. I keep the device in my bedroom at night on the lowest fan speed and I don't notice the fan at all.

While it is true that you won't have to replace filters every few months, you WILL need to replace the water treatment additive at every cleaning cycle (usually 10-14 days), so there ARE some maintenance costs. The LW44 comes with two fillings of the additive, afterwards you have to spent about USD 16-18 for a bottle of the water treatment which will last for 12 cleaning cycles (4-6 months). Venta also sells a cleaning solution, but according to their manual you won't need it in most cases. In any case the cleaning solution costs about $10 and is only good for one cleaning, so using it frequently will really drive the maintenance costs up.

All in all this is indeed the best humidifier that I ever had. I'm not giving it five stars, because I still think the price is outrageously high.

Effective,Intelligent & Expensive
I live in a desert~like New York City apartment and have owned my Venta Air Washer for almost exactly two years.During this time it has been operating on the "high" setting, 24 hours per day, seven days per week.The Air Washer lives up to all of the manufacturer's claims.

The Air Washer is a product of fanatical German engineering,over~design and bullet~proof construction, which accounts for it's rather grotesque price.However, I have owned products of inferior engineering and construction that have had to be replaced after one or two seasons.It is obvious I will own my Air Washer for many years to come.

The principles of operation could not be more simple (it's like a High School science project developed into a luxury product):

1) A fan blows room air straight down into a reservoir of water.

2) In this reservoir of water, a few dozen disks are slowly rotating to multiply the surface area that is wet.

3) Because you are blowing air onto a enlarged wet surface you are multiplying the rate of evaporation.

4) Humidified air is exhausted out of the Air Washer through vents in the side.

THIS WORKS.

On the "high" setting the water reservoir needs to be refilled daily in my apartment (this is highly dependent on your local weather or heating cycle).I end up carrying a couple gallons of water to the device or carrying the device to the bathtub and then back to its spot in my livingroom.

The design of the Air Washer is "neutral."It sits unobtrusive and un~noticed in a corner.It is nearly silent.It is built like a tank: It would be a challenge to damage this product on purpose.

Why not Five Stars?

The Venta Air Washer consumes expendables.You need a water treatment solution to prevent mineral deposits forming on the rotating disks mentioned above (weekly).AND you need a periodic cleaning solution to remove deposits that develop pn the bottoms and walls of the reservoir.I have tried operating the Air Washer without these things.They are required for optimal performance.

Like the device itself, the Venta treatment and cleaning solutions work perfectly and simply.But, THE EXPENDIBLES ARE EXPENSIVE!Assume youy will spend US$50.00 per year.

Also, you would think that for a company selling a FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR humidifier, the Venta aroma therapy scents would smell a bit less like a Central American bordello (not that I've ever seen one of those).Skip these even if they're free samples.

If you want the very best at any price, buy this product.

Where is My Product
I ordered this back in the winter of 2004, and kept getting message from Amazon indicating that there is a delay in shipping the product. After 2 delays, I just canceled the order. That is the first time I had a bad experience with Amazon, and I planned to cancel my Amazon-branded Visa card as a protest.

don't expect to recieve this item
Who ever is selling this can't even seem to come up with the product. I suggest finding someplace else to purchase it. I ordered this in Feburary now its April and they still can't seem to find one to ship. They claim ships in one to two weeks, yeh right. Allergies and other nastys in the air don't wait for these shmos.

Excellent air cleaning unit
After researching HEPA filters for several weeks, I decided to purchase this one and am very happy I did.In most homes, when youlook across the room when sunlight is spanning across it, you can see various little specks of things floating through the air -- specks that enter your eyes and you breathe.After getting this unit, I no longer have the "dirty air" problem.

The unit itself is VERY quiet on the lowest 2 settings (easy to sleep to), the 3rd setting sounds like a fan is blowing high speed -- able to sleep to if you don't mind some white noise.The highest setting is a bit loud, but there is really no reason to have it on that setting, unless you quickly want to purify a room.

If you're debating whether to buy a HEPA purifier -- after you replace your first set of filters and see the filters liberally coated in grime that you would otherwise breathe in, you'll thank yourself.If you're debating whether to buy THIS HEPA purifier -- I have had this one since May 2004 and have just recently replaced the filters.The unit itself still looks and sounds new.I've bought products from Holmes before...and all of their products are still fully functional after several years.

Smell the difference
I read about this purifier in Consumer Reports (it was one of the top 3 most highly rated) and have not been disappointed with it. The air in my apartment is noticeably more clear, and the added amount of circulation is really nice. Heat from the heating registers is now more quickly dispersed because of this unit. The remote control, although a nice touch, has to have line-of-sight with the device which is sometimes quite inconvenient. This unit has little lights on the front that tell you the filter status as well. Nice touch. On the highest (of four) settings, it's about as loud as an in-window air conditioner, on the lowest, it's almost inaudible. As for room size ratings, you can get one rated lower/smaller but it will just take a lot longer to filter. Worth It
I had been pricing and comparing the substantial number of humidifiers on the market and I am glad I settled on the Air-O-Swiss. Despite its higher price, I am quite satisfied with its functions, control, design and specifically, its quiet operation. I was looking to pay between $70-150 for a quiet, low-maintenance model to add humidity to my [very dry] 10x12' bedroom. I purchased it at a local store for the same price as listed on Amazon; I am glad I was able to see [and hear] this model in operation.

There is NO sound, even at the highest setting. I'm a light sleeper and cannot fathom a bedroom appliance that even approaches a dull hum.

The visible mist generated by this model is pleasant for me and my pets.

I have been refilling each morning, as I have had the device on a high setting and running nonstop.The compartment becomes about half-empty after a full day at this setting. Refilling is a snap.

The ability to have cool and warm settings is a big plus, since the jury is still out regarding the negatives and rewards of either mode.

The system has been running clean and I am certain this will continue to be the case with a modicum of effort. The cost of the filter and the silver stick is not intimidating and the recommended three-week maintenance check is reasonable.

The design is quite fetching. Minimalist and fetching.

I have it sitting on the floor and there is no dampness on the carpet as mentioned by owners of other brands. This tells me that this model is doing a good job of propelling the mist into the air.

My roommate recently paid $29 for a smaller Holmes humidifier. The Holmes is downright deafening and I am sure she would have paid the difference for an Air-O-Swiss. Silent operation is really important.

The only possible shortcoming is the hygrometer. It is not entirely intuitive: the machine is to shut off after the desired humidity percentage is met, yet I have yet to see the model shut itself off. Turning it off manually is not a big deal.

I took a big step purchasing an air purifier, but this purchase has made a significant difference in my bedtime and bedroom comfort. I've had some winter nights with seriously labored [allergy, smoke and pet-related] breathing but I find this device has given me a little peace of mind and tangible change.

High cost, but has its benefits
This humidifier is about $100 more than comparable warm mist humidifiers.It's also important to note that you'll have a minimum of $40 in annual operating cost you don't have with a warm mist humidifier from replacing the antibacterial stick ($25, annually) and the water filters ($15, needed every 2-3 months to prevent the humidifer from spewing white dust, which was a common problem with earlier ultrasonic humidifiers).Still, I think it's worth it for these advantages:
1.Very quiet operation, no "boiling" sound (though still has occasional burble from water dropping down)
2.High output.
3.Looks good.
4.MOST IMPORTANT: relatively easy cleanup.You can clean this thing every two weeks, and it's just a matter of rinsing it out & brushing the ultrasonic membrane.No weekly descaling & disinfecting with bleach that's proscribed for the warm mist humidifiers. I'll pay the $40 a year to save hassle & time cleaning.

Do agree it should have a digital hygrometer for the price.Also it doesn't seem to be any more accurate than other cheaper humidifiers I've owned (measuring with a separate hygrometer) but nor does it seem to be less.

Recommended.

Humidifier Bling
I am very happy with this purchase. I can't imagine another unit outperforming this one.
Pros:
1)High design; the prettiest, sleekest humidifier you'll find. Everyone who sees it compliments me on it and it's become a very popular acquisition.
2)High output: produces a thick, steady stream of humidity. When on highest setting, outpaces volume of other cheaper units.
3)Great customer service: I had a hairline fracture in the water tank and the Air-O-Swiss folks replaced it within days; it was very fast service and completely hassle free.
Cons:
1)After 2 weeks, I discovered a fracture in the water tank causing water to leak out onto the table.
2)No hygrometer/hygrostat display so there's no way to know for sure what degree of dryness you need to compensate for.
3)Water tank is a little on the small side and needs to be refilled often - Very often if highest volume setting is used.
