one great step stool

Stool work. Solid so far. Just give average cause not sure. If you weigh less than 225 pounds probably good buy. Me use several times now. Still not understand how folds. I received this step stool as a gift, and use it almost every day.Folding up into any small space, it expands to be quite sturdy and sizeable.The step stool features a locking mechanism as well as rubberized feet and steps for safety, and the carrying handle makes maneuvering the stool into small storage spaces quite easy.Highly recommended for reaching and working in areas a foot or so out of reach.

Does A Good Job
I received my Hoover S2551 Quick Broom in 5 business days from my order, which was excellent considering it was free shipping.It was easy to put together, and I used it right away.It did a good job of picking up dirt, dog hairs, pine needles, and miscellaneous bits from both my hard floors and carpeting.You should not expect this vac. to do the job of a $200 carpet vacuum but is a good choice for everyday quick pickups.My only criticism is the hard little wheels which seem to be the norm for this type of vac.I know they are scratching my wood floors and I use them very carefully on these floors.Otherwise, a good little vac.

It SAYS it's for floors
Some people are crying about this vacuum not doing a good job on carpet.It's nor FOR carpet.Also, some were griping about the nozzle falling off in use.I had the same problem, took it to a local Hoover dealer, and come to find out it was missing two screws that securely attach the nozzle to the machine.Voila! it works like a charm.Hoover apparently had a "memory lapse" and didn't ship the screws with the machine.

Useful only on floors
If you are planning to use this quick broom on carpets, it won't do a good job,it is only suitable for floors.

Sucks only figuratively.
I've owned a Quik-Broom encore for almost a year. Never once have I used it that I haven't been on my hands and knees using the hose attachment in the vain hope of picking up a piece of lint or crumb. Purchase this vacuum only if you don't care about cleanliness; it will never help you achieve it.

yes, it's made somewhat (SOMEwhat) cheaply, and the head doesn't stay flat if you lay the rest of the machine down, etc., etc., but listen, this isn't a $1000 miele. for forty bucks, this has to be the best value vacuum cleaner i have ever owned and had the pleasure to use in my entire life. and not only for the value - it really is a pleasure, it cleans our floors better than other, more expensive, fancier machines. The motorized brush head does an excellent job and i find the device rather easy to clean - if a little dusty, but it IS a bagless. Personally, keeping in mind this unit costs 40-50 bucks, you absolutely can not go wrong with this vacuum, i love it.

What a disappointing product.I needed to replace my Hoover Brush Vac, a dependable lightweight stick vacuum cleaner I use in between major weekly cleanings, mainly to keep the golden retriever fur under control.I was hoping to find another brush vac, maybe one whose plastic parts were a little more sturdy, but basically the same set up.It has been "improved" right out of existence. This Quik-Broom seems to be trying to be both a light duty product and a serious vacuum cleaner.It is failing badly at both.The brush head slides on (no screws), and so slides off again whenever it pleases.The short, flimsy hose attachment serves no real purpose except to necessitate the relocation of the cord wrap bracket, which is now right above floor level.The corresponding top cord bracket is almost three feet above it, which turns wrapping everything up into an aerobic endeavor. Another surprise is the weight of the thing.Why is something almost completely plastic so uncomfortably heavy and awkward to push?But, the icing on the cake is its inability to vacuum underneath anything.Due to an extended platform on the back of the cleaner head, when the handle is tipped back, say to vacuum under the coffee table, the entire brush head lifts up. Just right up off the floor. Forget cleaning under the sofa or beds. I expected better from Hoover.

cranky little product
I don't actualy own this product my sister does, but I did use it once. The horibble review she would give it would take a page or two, so I will give you my experience.We had a little saw dust on her carpet from sawing 1 piece of moulding. The 4 month old product with an empty cup only managed to move the saw dust around alot.Mind you, it did do a superb job of pushing the saw dust into the carpet.

Save your money and buy a broom and dustpan.
I bought this for my mother.I thought that it would be easier for her to use for small cleaning jobs than her large canister.After being used on less than a dozen occasions the power nozzle stopped working.The repair shop said it would cost $60+ to fix, almost the purchase price.Additionally, both the nozzle and the dirt cup detached with maddening regularity.

Great for bare floors. Mediocre construction.
It's hard to find vacuum cleaners that are light, in the US. I suppose that's becuase most dwellings are carpeted. The Hoover worked quite well on the bare wooden floors in my apartment. However, the electrical cable that connects the head (where the rotating brush is) to the body often becomes loose---and the spinning brush loses it's power. Eventually, with less than a year of using it (twice a week), the brush no longer functions.

I have to conclude that that little cable was an afterthought in the design of the vacuum. I have to say though, that this vacuum is quite powerful for it's size and priced just right. Oh, did I mention that the head comes off too easily also? ... Read more

Great but wears out fast
I love this vacuum cleaner but I've had 2 in the past 2-1/2 years and both times, the head broke off after about 12-15 months.I'm not a fanatical cleaner either so it's certainly not due to overuse. :)

It's relatively inexpensive and I've found others to be less efficient so I'm buying a third one. The company really should send out a replacement part to re-connect the head but I'm too busy to deal with them.If it happens again, I'll probably write this one off and hopefully find something with a longer "closet-life."Good luck.

Broke into pieces!
This vacuum worked great for about a year and then literally broke into two pieces.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT
I thought of titling my review "This vacuum cleaner sucks," but then I realized that would be a lie, because, in fact, this vacuum doesn't suck anything. More appropriate title:

"THIS PRODUCT BLOWS."

And I mean that literally. The exhaust fan from the unit blast to smithereens anything you might think of vacuuming before you can get there.

Other horrific product defects:

- The unit does not stand up on its own.
- The hose attachment is so short that you have to hold the unit in one hand, and the hose in the other, meanwhile trying not to blow your dirt pile into the air with the exhaust vents.
- The suction is too weak to work well on carpet.
- The whole unit is flimsy and cheaply constructed. I estimate it will completely fall apart in a year.

In summary:

Do not, under any circumstances buy this product. If I could have given it negative stars, I would have. One star is too many for this embarrassingly ineffective vacuum cleaner.

Horrible Horrible Horrible
I bought this broom vac hoping to take care of my small apartment in manhattan without having to store a huge unit.I have owned other dirt devils and was very happy.This one is HORRIBLE.Even on hardwood floors it spits the dust out all over the place. And on Rugs? FORGET IT.It is really really bad.And I only have small pile rugs that aren't plush at all.

Skip this one and get another. I will have to now.

Better than the last humidifer I bought.
I use this to humidify an enclosed, closet sized, habitat for my Giant Green Iguana.I keep humidity in the upper part of the habitat at 60-70%.This thing operates continuously (cycling on and off) for months a time, probably over a year at this point.I do have to soak the water tray and element in vinegar once a week or even more often to keep the scale down, but I've also let it go for a month w/out de-scaling and it works fine also.

The only problem I've had with this unit is the lower, outer tray cracked or seperated somehow and I got water from condensation leaking out.Since my habitat is waterproof this isn't an issue, and despite the unit being under warranty I just used RTV sealant to fix the leak.The environment I'm using this in is sort of extreme duty so I wouldn't hold this against the unit (much).

I prefer this unit to others that have LCD displays.The display s go bad on me sometimes due to humidity, as do the push buttons.The rotary switches on this unit are reliable, and after some fiddling you can get whatever level of humidity you want.

If the one I have dies and the warranty expired I would probably buy another.

Worked well while it worked
The good
- Very quiet, at first (more on that later)

The bad
- Steam comes out at a low rate, even at the high setting
- Needs frequent cleaning due to scale, especially on difficult to clean heating element

The very ugly
- After 3 months of use has become very noisy, to the point that we are rarely using it.Quality control is not what it needs to be.

does the job
This humidifier is great.I've had it about 6 months-I do have hard water, which makes it a pain to clean, but I don't do it very often and it works fine.The only thing is you can't clean the main part b/c it's hooked up to the electrical, and for me that has the most buildup.But it still works wonderfully and for the price I think it's a good buy.I use it almost every night, and on low fill it every 2 nights.

lots of scale buildup
I live in the country and have mildly hard water, so I bought this humidifier under the assumption that it would work fine with regular cleanup. WRONG! If I want to use it, I have to do extensive cleanup every 12 hours. I even tried using a lime and scale deterrent additive, which didn't help at all. The humidifier may work okay if you don't have hard water, but I can't use it anymore.

What do you expect?????
IT IS WHAT IT IS!!!! A great LITTLE vacuum. I does extremly well on low pile carpet. I compared it with an Oreck XL and it stands up quite well. I IS NOT a BIG vac and should not be treated as such. But for everyday quick sweeps in place of draging out the big one, I don't think there is a better one out there. (I have had a few !!) If you do not think this vacuum works well, you have done something wrong.

A great vac for an awesome price!
This is my third eureka stick vac (this specific model)and I love them! Bought one for my old house, my mom's house and my new house and if you have as much tile as I do, this is the thing to buy! I have small children and often vacuum once a day and this saves lots of time--only downfall is the cord is VERY short-as one reviewer said get an extension cord--nothing is perfect. I would recommend this vac for hard surface floors-I use my larger vac for my small area of carpeting--this thing is awesome!!

Perfect
This little vacuum is exactly what I needed.It picks up the crusty bits around my daughter's highchair and the furry bits that the cats and dog leave behind, and the various bits on the kitchen tile.I own a large vacuum for my rugs and this was not purchased to replace that, but to compliment it.

It is very lightweight, not too noisy, has enough cord to move from one room to another in my small space and, most importantly,fits on a hook in my cramped broom closet. I can grab it, sweep and put it away in a matter of seconds.It even has a rotating bristle that can be turned on if you need to use it on carpets or rugs.

What more could you ask for?I LOVE it.

Well, here's the story. I bought this vacuum and ran it over my carpet, and I was joyfull, right? NOOOOOOOOOOO! Hey, if you think that Bissel vacuum is crap, wait, just wait till you see this one! If Target would let me set zero stars, I would be glad to do it! This guy also has a short cord! (I think it's short cord should go into the world records!) It is also a machine that weighs a ton! And the price! Does the job
I've had mine for 3 months.Works fine and does a good job.On low speed it's quiet enough, although I have it in the hallway to humidify a 3 bedroom area.Love the fact that I don't have to replace the wicks ($$$ saver).That's what made me buy this in spite of the other noise complaints I'd seen.

Very easy to fill the tank and the tank is sturdy and easy to carry.No problems with water leakage.Sometimes the gurgling sound as water is being drained is a little annoying, but not overly so.

Overall, I'm satisfied.


Update (1/12/05) Cleaned it last spring easily with vinegar/water as instructed in the manual and packed it away.Got it back out and started using it in December (12/04).Once in awhile it vibrates a little more than I recall last season, but it's still bearable.It's a bummer others have reported problems with this model.I'm satisfied.

'tis a piece of..... junk
Mine lasted about 6 months. Put out about 5 gallons/day in winter. Loud, loud, loud, but beared it since I had already paid for it. I had to snap together the water pump assembly (a fan blade in a housing that pushed the water though a tube) on many occasions. Could not truly fix it since it is made completely of cheap plastic. In the end, the motor burned up and left the house smelling like burnt varnish for 2 days.

I bought two humidifiers, the 3 gallon, and the 2.5 gallon, and within a month, both of them quit, the motors burned up. Upon notifying Hunter, I was sent two replacements immediately. One of them is already making a loud noise, and I expect the other to quit anytime. I would spend a little more money and buy a better humidifier because each time you send it back, you have to pay shipping which isn't cheap.

Noise was too much!
I just returned mine. After a week it rattled like a bugger! Kept me up at night, it was terrible.

TOO LOUD!
I agree with the previous review, that this humidifier was fine at first but grew louder by the second week of use.The fan rattles like a garbage disposal.I tried running it only in the daytime but that defeated the purpose since I need it while sleeping.

Went and purchased the Hamilton Beach 05519 from J&R Music World and it is quieter but still also loud.But I'll take a loud HUM over a loud RATTLE any day!

I'm mad that I have to change filters now, but supposedly only every 2 mos. with the Hamilton Beach.I will stay away from all Hunter products in the future because now I've done some research on the Web and it seems that quite a few people are having the same noise problem.There is a defect.Not only that, one model of Hunter's was recalled due to a fire hazard! ... Not so great...
I have had this sweeper for several months and like others, it's main purpose was to keep my kitchen floor, laundry room, and basement floors clean. Well, it does pick up larger debris best, but when you go for picking up hair, dust and dirt, it blows a lot of it around, not to mention, I noticed that the entire sweeper itself becomes COVERED in dust. Don't buy this sweeper if tou expect it to "suck" things up. It provides NO suction but a motorized brush roll that spins and rolls things up into the dust cup. I recommend this for occasional use for spills like cereal, rice, etc. As far as being a tool to "clean" your floors, you will be quite disappointed. In fact I only use this now to clean my laundry room area and basement floors to pick up debris so it doesn't get tracked in my upstairs.

only partially pleased
I have had the unit now for about 4 months.I am disappointed by the lack of suction that causes the dirt to eject backwards from the unit.I puchased the unit for my kitchen and laundry area.I have three cats and the litter box is in this area.I find that the sweeper works well for larger debris like cheerios from the kids but litter take a few extra passes.It is not the best at the corners either.However, the machine does make a short order of sweeping.

Not happy with this sweeper
Pros:Lite-weight, easy to use, long battery life.

Cons:Cat hair gets wrapped up into the coils and is difficult to clean out.Does not pick up all of the dirt and hair.Spits some of the dirt back out when you pull it backwards.When you press the off button, dirt comes out of it.I will not buy this sweeper again.

NEVER SWEEP AGAIN ! ! !
I have tile and hardwood floors, and I just walk the Bissell PerfectSweep around my house (usually while I'm blabbing on the phone) and it SWEEPS UP EVERYTHING. No more bending! No more dust flying everywhere! It has little round sweepers on the sides that get right up to the edge of the floor by the wall. It's lightweight and the noise level is about the same as an electric pencil sharpener. I love it! Keep in mind that this product is NOT a vacuum, so don't get it for pile carpeting.

Quick and Easy
This machine was so easy to assemble and even easier to use! It did an excellent job picking up dirt and pet hair from my floor. I have a cat snd this picks up her hair and litter so easily. It is quick and convenient. I have been a Bissell fan for years and the products keep getting better and better! Worked fine for my two pregnancies
I had this glider throughout the pregnancies and births of both my children. It was comfortable, nothing broke, and it was a decent match for our black leather living room furniture.We enjoyed it enough that this year we passed it along to our favorite in-laws for use when they have a child.At the time, it offered an inexpensive alternative to more expensive wooden rockers, as a rocker was a piece of furniture I knew we wouldn't keep long term.

Two Broken!
I had the same problem as reviewer K. Dejong below; the weld on two of these chairs broke after a few months of use.The chair is manufactured in China, and there is no fix or replaceable part for this problem.Unless you only need a theatre prop, DO NOT BUY THIS CHAIR!

Broken
I bought this item with a gift certificate from my baby shower.We had it for about a month when the welding that holds the base to the chair broke.It is going to cost us more to have it fixed then it would to buy a whole new chair.Keep in mind that me and my husband are not large people and there is no reason for this to have happened.I do not recommend this product; although it was very comfy and looked nice in our home...It is just not worth it!!! ...
