Works like a charm!
This little beauty puts out a ton of light at a fraction of the cost of the regular light bulbs--truly amazing how much light. It's a bit pricey, but considering the fact it lasts darned near forever, it's well worth it. Add to that the fact that it noticably drops your electric bills, and you can't beat it!

Don't Buy This
The people at Office Depot don't have a clue about how to ship glass. It came in a box with no padding beneath the item, and some paper on top of it. Needless to say, when I received it, it was smashed, and I'm still dealing with them on how to get properly credited.

excellent
For all of you that would like a purer, whiter, brighter light compared to the "standard" light bulb which gives off a lovely "yellow" glow, than the "Happy Eyes" is a good light to choose.
I do not know how the other supposedly "full spectrum" lights fair to this one.
Even if this light is not a true "full spectrum" light, it sure does a pretty good job of fooling me.
This light makes reading easy, & is plenty bright. I have never had an eye strain problem from it yet & I have had it over a year.
I do not "steer" people wrong about products, there is not enough time in this world for me to waste!

A nice light
I recently purchased this light and am enjoying it. I find the white light extremely restful and comfortable while reading. My only complaint is that even on high power it is not extremely bright. Sometimes I would like a little more light.

unhappy eyes
I purchased this lamp for $119.95 including shipping. I had been searching for a lamp for several months. aesthetically i could not find a floor lamp i was completely happy with, so i decided to go with functional instead of a traditional looking brass lamp. i decided to go with the verilux floor lamp because it was stated to have 150 watt brightness from a 27 watt bulb. it also stated that it would relieve eyestrain.

The lamp is incredibly easy to put together. My bulb was not broken which is a bonus because i had read reviews of people who had received broken bulbs. It has a dim setting and a bright setting. The arm adjusts easily to direct the light where you need it most.

BUT the light is not full spectrum for people who need it for SADS...when i realized that the lamp was a complete waste of money- i thought well this will be good for my SADS- WRONG!!!! i didn't find out that it is not a full spectrum light until later!

The brightness of the light- compared to a 150 watt lightbulb- in my eyes opinion- is NOT equivalent. It is a white light- compared to my yellowish 150 watt light bulb- but it should not even be in the same class as my 150 watt light bulb! i can see things much clearer with the 150 watt yellowish light bulb than this 27 watt white light bulb. sure i can see colors better - but when i'm reading a black and white book- doesn't do me a darn bit of good because the light is not bright enough.

this bulb is just a flourescent bulb without the hum... i have a flourscent energy saver bulb that is equivalent to a 60 watt light bulb and i can see better with that one than the verilux light!

and whatever it is you are trying to light up- or see- it needs to be within a 2 foot by 2 foot radius of the light source. the lightbulb has a plastic silver reflective grid that is suppose to disperse the light- but it barely makes a difference. i can light up about half of my desk with this lamp. the other half i have to light up with my energy saver bulbs in a traditional lamp and the contrast of lighting colors makes my eyes very very very tired.

this was a complete waste of money. if you are looking to buy one of these lamps- please go to a store and look at it first. do not just buy it based off of reviews the way i had. i had seen an ott light at the bmw store- and knew it was not a very good lamp- but i thought the verilux 27watt lamp would be better. i was wrong. and it was a mistake that cost me a chunk of money that i could have spent on a really nice traditional lamp that would have lit up my ENTIRE desk and part of the room.

if i could i would start a boycott against this company for calling the product happyeyes- when my eyes are very angry and unhappy!

however if you are just getting it for arts and crafts to see colors- it would be a great lamp for you to buy.I personally purchased it for computer work and reading- but it gives me a headache and makes my eyes strain. ... Read more

Best nightlight ever
You just can't beat this, it costs 40 cents/year to operate, and that's when it is operating 10 HOURS a day. Also, if the night light ever stops working for some reason, just return it to the company and they'll send you a new one.
