Nostalgic; a good buy & great looking
I, like most everyone else, bought this b/c it reminded me of one my grandmother had.It was pretty easy for me to assemble and seems quiet sturdy! I love the red color and the memories it brings back when I walk through my kitchen.I'll probably have to buy another one so the kids will both have one of their own.

Nice addition to my kitchen/dining
I was given this stool as a gift (fully assembled).It is quite heavy so it is not something I would use as a utility chair.On the other hand It's weight and sturdiness are perfect to allow my 2 year old son to help me in the kitchen then pull him to the dining room table for dinner (I actually got rid of our highchair.)SO if you have a purpose and need for it - then go for it - otherwise find something else. Oh the way the stairs retracted is of poor design - but they work.

I love my retro chair / step stool!
My husband and I had no problems putting this chair together. It is quite sturdy. My young grandsons enjoy using it as much as I do. The track system for the steps does not stay in place, however this is a minor problem for me. I looked everywhere for one of these chairs and I was very pleased to find it. The red color is fun and cheery. I have back pain and this chair makes it much less painful to work in the kitchen for long periods of time.

Not perfect, but still a good buy
I bought this because my grandparents had a similar stool when I was growing up. Although the quality of this one isn't as good as the old one, it still serves its purpose in my kitchen. I've also gotten many compliments on it. All-in-all, I am quite satisfied with my purchase. (It was difficult to assemble with the -tools- included.)

Not what it seems
I selected this chair over the white chair/step stool, also offered through Target, because it looked sturdier. However, the parts are so poorly constructed that they do not fit together well, and there is a significant wobble to the legs. The sliding mechanism for the steps is primitive and constantly derails. I bought this stool as a perch for my 2-year old daughter to watch me work in the kitchen, but it is so unstable that I am afraid to let her climb on it.
Also, while the assembly instructions are easy to follow, either the screws and/or the accompanying Allen wrench are too flimsy. I could not tighten the screws properly before the wrench was completely stripped. ... Read more

one great step stool
This is a great stool that I can storein the cabinet under my sink as it only takes up several inches when folded.This makes it very accessible.It unfolds and very easily.It is the perfect height for reaching items in the upper shelves of my newly remodeled kitchen.I love it.GJS in Wisconsin

Me buy. Me not sure if like.
Me no like dark. Me need to be higher. Me buy this. Me big person. Me exceed 225 pound limit. Me not know this when buy. Steps hard flexible plastic. Steps kind of bend when use. Me have light. Stool work. Solid so far. Just give average cause not sure. If you weigh less than 225 pounds probably good buy. Me use several times now. Still not understand how folds. Get feeling like maybe stick hand in metal animal trap. Not happen yet but not make feel happy. Still probably good if less or around 225 pounds. Me really not around this weight. This made in France.

Compact yet sturdy...
I received this step stool as a gift, and use it almost every day.Folding up into any small space, it expands to be quite sturdy and sizeable.The step stool features a locking mechanism as well as rubberized feet and steps for safety, and the carrying handle makes maneuvering the stool into small storage spaces quite easy.Highly recommended for reaching and working in areas a foot or so out of reach.

Gotta-have-one item at the right price!

This does all it claims, and more!
I use the Total Trolley for everything from trash duty to carrying my 1,600 CDs. We stack our 26 CD cases, weighing about 20 pounds a piece, on the cart and wheel it around with no problems. That's well over 500 pounds! I bought the collapsing cases, too. They are very handy for groceries, small items, etc. The ladder set-up is fast, easy, and very stable. I feel very safe standing on the TOP rung - fully allowed. The versatility is endless. We use it to move furniture, carry several large sacks of dog food, just about every lifting job I used to do manually, I now let the cart do it for me. This cart is well worth the cost, and then some. I have no idea how I managed without it!

Handy and sturdy
At first this seemed like it was a bit heavy.It is, but that makes it sturdy.I have used it to move a chair and couch from one room to another as well as gardening supplies, mulch and plants to the back yard.This is a versatile item that is handy to have. I wish I had one sooner.

Great Kitchen Chair
This step stool is so great that we have 2 at my mom's house.I'm going to get one as soon as I have my own kitchen.They're really durable, both of the ones we have lasted at least 20 years, one might be closer to 40.They're nice to sit in and tall enough that I can reach the top shelves in the kitchen (I'm only 4'11")

A good dual-purpose stool
I bought this for my 80 year-old mother, so she could sit while she does kitchen chores.

The stool is light-weight enouch for her to move and provides a comfortable seat.

There are two drawbacks: the step part of the stool doesn't come out quite far enough, giving the feeling od instability. Also, I assumed the entire unit folded for storage, but this is not the case. Only the steps fold in.

Both of the above are minor drawbacks and I would recomend this item to anyone. ... Read more
