4-0 out of 5 stars its our first
I picked this for no moving parts, and easy interface with windows XP.So far, So Good,we use it while out on the ATV's. Ease of use for us is just fine, yea, wish it had more memory, Yea, regular batteries would be nice, but ease of getting MP3's onto it is great, hit play, and enjoy....

3-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
I owned several memory-, CD-, and HD-based MP3/WMAplayers and honestly I don't know why I get this Muvo2 player. There are simply too many thing that I don't like about this player

1. The control is way too small (less than 1/2" in diameter with 5 functions)

2. The navigation sucks -
a. You can't choose a song directly w/o playing a folder and then advance to the song you want.
b. You can't back out of a folder w/o going through menu | folder option | 1st folder | next/prev folder...
c. Only 2/3 functions of the tiny control wheel is available for navigation.

3. They want you to buy additional battery for $50 instead of using standard batteries.

4. The control wheel and play buttons are completely hidden when the unit is in the case so you have to take the unit out before you can control it.

5. The USB 2.0 and USB charging support are nice. However, you can't use the player in the USB charging mode.

5-0 out of 5 stars I Rate It At 4.75 Stars
I received the X-Trainer a week ago and, so far, so good.

I purchased this device to use while exercising, not to store my entire music collection. The 512MB flash memory gives me enough space for 5 or 6 albums recorded at 128kbps, which provides fine fidelity. If you want a large storage volume and are not worried about moving parts, take your chances with a hard-disk drive unit.

The earphones are functional if not particularly comfortable. The sports armband is secure and the lithium battery arrived charged and ready to use. The control buttons are simple and easy to use and the LCD display is easily read even with my tired, old eyes. The software provided works well with my Windows XP operating system and moving files back and forth is very simple.

My only complaint is that the X-Trainer wants to replay album tracks by the title of the song rather than the track number. I'm sure there must be a simple solution for this problem but the instruction manual, provided on the CD, is not very helpful. I've tried to find a solution to this small annoyance but to no avail. A simple if cumbersome work-around is to manually retitle each track using an alpha prefix (a_NAME, b_NAME, c_NAME, etc.) in order to hear tracks in the order I want.

Apart from this one small problem, I give the X-Trainer a strong recommendation to musically-inclined exercise buffs!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good step towards a great product....
This was my first MP3 player purchase.I have waited until there was a flash-memory-based product with sufficient capacity to be worth my effort. While the Creative MUVO2 X-Trainer has several attractive features (intuitive/no-hassel interface as add-on hard drive via USB2.0 or USB1.1 connection, mega-battery life - over 24 hours continuous play,noise-free operation - no moving parts, skip free playback - no moving parts, and armband/waistclip, seemless integration with Creative PlayCenter software), it falls short on some critical features:

* Unable to play ".WAV" files without errors
* Playback buttons not very user-friendly - especially compared to other products on the market.
* No FM radio
* No record function/input (microphone)
* Memory only 512 MB & can't upgrade with flash memory cards.Creative either needs to increase memory to 2 gigs (NOT HD), enhance usability/design and increase features.

By the time they re-launch their products, we will be demanding miniature MPEG4/JPEG/MP3/FM... with easy-to-use wireless interfaces on flash memory and infinite battery life for under $300.Viva la consumer :P

5-0 out of 5 stars Muvo2 X-Trainer 512Mb
Overall opinion:
Would I buy it again? Definitely! Fantastic little player. Best solid state on the market currently.

Pros:
Great clarity, good solid feel, fantastic design (clean and simple), Excellent capacity options considering other players on the market average around 64-256mb), solid state memory definitely a plus. Can recharge through USB or DC adaptor. USB2.0 for fast transfers. Backlighting good idea. Fast playing/startup. Good volume (with earphones).

Cons:
Buttons a bit small - can be difficult to operate when exercising. While sound clarity is fantastic, bass is lacking a little. LCD display is really cool, but maybe not 'glance' friendly. Belt-clip accessory is a bit cheap and plastically (wheres the nice leather/vinyl pouch? or at least they could colour code it?) but ultimately very functional and robust. They dont sell it in Australia yet! (took me a month to order from U.S). ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Hard to use; inconvenient
I've had this MP3 player for several years now, and the only reason I bought it in the first place was that it took SmartMedia, just like my camera.

Bad thing #1: It is not a USB mass storage device. This means you *must* use their software to copy the files to it.It also means that it can't double as a Flash drive or as a SmartMedia reader.

Bad thing #2: The controls are awkward and badly designed. The interface is badly designed and hard to use.The actual knob is fiddly -- a single control can be pushed in to mean Ok or Enter, or moved up-down to pick a menu entry. If I use the tip of my thumb or index finger to move it up or down, then I can either push too softly and I can't move it because it slips, or I can push too hard and it registers as Enter. The resistance at pushing in is too feeble and that at moving sideways is too strong. In addition, when holding the player upright (which is the natural way to hold it in one hand), you need to move the knob up for "down" and down for "up".I still can't get used to that.

Bad thing #3: When the battery is almost dead, it stops playing, shuts itself down, *forgets what song it was playing*, turns itself on, resumes playing the first song you played in that session, shuts itself down after a second or two, turns itself back on, resumes playing the first song, and so on, until the battery is completely drained (a good half hour). This is very annoying if you're using it while driving and don't have time reach to it and turn it off (which is difficult, because it only takes the button if you press it at the right moment).

Miscelaneous other bad things:

If you take the SmartMedia out and use it for anything else, even if you put the files back on it as they were, it won't work.It only works if you copy stuff on the SmartMedia using the player itself.

The external battery holder is funny. It only attaches to the player through the power connector, which means it's free to swing around and get disconnected and fall off any time.Things get better if you put the player and the battery holder in the case, but it's hard to push the battery holder in (very tight fit), and extremely hard to get it out.

The FM radio is fair at best (noisy weak reception, slightly noisy even with strong signals).

The included earbuds are decent, but the player can't drive a full-sized pair of headphones without losing some sound quality (the low frequencies are especially affected).

You can hear a high-pitched sound caused by interference from the backlight driver whenever the backlight is on.

The battery charger is rather heavy for what it does. The player can't charge its battery from the USB port or from the external power adapter. You need to take the battery out to charge it.The external AAA battery holder allows you to continue to listen to music while the internal battery is in the charger, but that drains the battery, so it's not an economical solution. You can't use rechargeable AAA batteries in the extrenal holder.

If you put the player in the case, you *have* to use the FM radioor the inline remote, because the lid doesn't close if you just plug the headphones straight into the player. Also, the cord of the headphones is too short to allow you to clip both the player and the in-line remote on the belt.

The player is (or used to be) too expesive for all its shortcomings. There are much better alternatives now for a fraction of the original prices, both from Samsung and from the competition.

Good thing: The player looks good, and it's fairly small and lightweight. This doesn't even begin to compensate for all its disadvantages.

1-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT
I bought mine in January of 2003 becuase my roommate recommended this product to me becuase I was interested in an MP3 player with FM. I got it and for the first couple months, I really didn't have that many problems. But NOW I absolutely hate this machine and WOULD NOT recommend it to anyone. This FM tuner is so weak it might as well not be on there. The program to transfer music is actually not that bad-but one thing I hate about it is that it sometimes doubles up on the song if you change the name of the song-which means sometimes you transfer to the player and a song and it won't even play. Also-the headphones are the worst!! From month two the wiring started to peek through and now, the music won't play in both ears simultaneously. SO frustrating. Its ok for jogging and workouts, as I said I didn't have problems with it initially. But now, its so annoying becuase I don't get good music in both ears, there is no FM for when I run, and in general, this is just not a good buy. I would NOT recommend it. Save your money and buy a higher end MP3 player ( I bought this one refurbished on Amazon and now Samsung won't honor the warranty) like an IPOD or something.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tiny easy to use player
I've had this machine for 18 months now, never had a problem, and when I lost my original software CD a call into Samsung gave me a prompt replacement. It's small and simple, replace the headphones that come with it as they are not very good.

2-0 out of 5 stars Looks nice, but it's badly designed
Pros:
The music sounds great and the amount of storage is sizable enough that you don't need to update/change the tracks frequently. The metal casing is very stylish and the dual use as a audio recorder really helps (ie. college lectures)

Cons:
The software is difficult to use because it collects a "database" of music by scanning your hard drive.Music can't be uploaded until the mp3 is in the database. If you're like me and download new music all the time, it becomes a hassle to update the database. The leather carrying case isn't designed well for headphones. The auxillary battery hangs on the edge and is a bit awkward.

OVERALL:
It's a good mp3 player if you're not going to walk around with it. Definitely NOT designed for athletic activity. Mine broke after 7 months (as many people have cited similar complaints).Consider the new smaller Mp3 players if you're an active person, or just wait and hopefully Samsung will come out with an improved version

2-0 out of 5 stars Great Features, Poorly built
Bought the Yepp 700 online exactly a year ago, and it is now broken. The battery case will not shut. (This has happened to many other customers. BUYER BEWARE.)

However, the mp3 player does have nice features.
-Good Sized Memory
256 mb is alot of storage. You can get about 70 songs with that. Buy the media card. It's cheap.
-Slick looking
The yepp is very nice looking. It is also pretty small. Good to exercise with.
-Remote control
Its nice that they put this here, but it is pretty worthless. The LCD is wothless, and the FM tuner on this is EXTREMELY WEAK!
- Voice Recorder
Good feature.

In summary, nice features, but poorly built. If you want to take a chance on the mp3 player, go right ahead. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Supercool and light
I bought this a month ago and have been using it daily since. The battery life is nice and long (8hrs), and I love and adore the fact that you don't need another power adaptor to charge it, all you need is a spare USB slot on your computer and it draws power from that. Down side -- the computer must be powered on to charge the thing (unless, like me, you have an external usb hub with separate power). Anyway, overall I love it -- so here's the bottom line:

PROS: Very, very light. Clever in-built neckchain/earpiece means you don't have to find a way to hang this mp3 player on yourself -- it's all there, on one loop of wire. The quality of the earphones is surprisingly good and the overall sound of the player is exceptional compared with others I have owned. Nice centrally located light on front so you know when it's recharging (red) or playing (green) in a glance. When walking, you barely feel it, and it does look and feel like a simple pendant -- great for those who don't want their mp3 player to attract them masses of attention due to its ostentatiousness.

CONS: You can't use another pair of headphones without an adaptor (although I am happy with supplied pair). No LCD screen. No pause button (it switches off when you unplug the earphones, and resumes playing where you were in the song when you plug it back in and hit the On button -- but having to do all this just to pause it can be a little annoying).

The software it comes with is very non-intuitive and basically sucks but is workable if you are patient. There's no fast way of reordering songs when you add them to a playlist (it plays them in the order you add them -- period); to test play a song requires more than one mouseclick. And there's no way to easily burn songs from the playlist -- adding songs must be done from a different menu selection. But the worst thing is when I tried to just drag and drop songs on the device and bypass the program, it doesn't play those ones, so I will have to return to the Qmusic software and basically 'switch on' those mp3s by selecting them so the device sees them.

On balance -- think about this, the time you spend downloading songs onto it will be minimal. Most people, once it's done, it's done, so the above quirks are just that. The most time you'll be spending with your player is actually playing it (full marks for its ability and sound there) and recharging it (fast). So in sum: this player IS worth it, I would buy it again, and I don't think anyone else will have much regret either, unless they get a dud right out of the box or something.

5-0 out of 5 stars BEAUTIFUL WONDERFUL
I just got this for christmas and i love it. the only complaint i have is that the headphones hurt your ears.its nice that you can take a friends cd or something and put it on there useing your computer and then you can have that cd on your mp3 and your friend can have their cd back. ITs nice thats its light and can hang around your neck. Its portable and easy to handle and great for all ages. ... Read more

Its an awsome Mp3 player, its really small and light- fits in your pocket easily.... The only down side is it takes a while to load songs onto it, but thats only a small part. Once the songs are on its great...

1-0 out of 5 stars Nightmare
I purchased this item after reading both the good and the bad reviews.I was prepared for about anything.I was not.For those of you who the item worked properly and with ease I envy you. After reading the almost non-existent directions on how to install and operate the item, I followed them exactly. This item is not for you if you are not already familiar with some kind of music software.Music Match was a very difficult and frustrating program for me to figure out.Again, the almost non-existent directions for this software were useless. After the first day of unsuccessfully attempting to get this to work, I tried again the next day repeatedly to no avail. It would not recognize the device.

I finally decided to call Philips customer service.Another bad mistake. I was told that apparently my device was "corrupted" and that I had to download an updated driver to make it work.Imagine my surprise when even downloading the driver didn't work.At long last, for whatever reason out of the blue I was able to transfer mp3 files to the device and I was elated. When I went to listen to the music I downloaded there was dead silence.Nothing.I had no idea what to do or what was happening.Again, back to Philips customer service. In total I spoke to 4 different people, apparently located in Bangladesh who eventually told me I needed to speak to "Darren" in tech support and that he would contact me.That never happened. Therefore, I call again (oh, did I mention getting disconnected TWICE after being on hold for over 10-15 minutes?) and I ask if I could speak to anyone else in tech support that could help me.I was told No, Darren was the only one to talk to.I said, "there is no one else who works tech support that can help me?" and was told NO.Apparently, this Darren is the only person in Bangladesh who can assist the thousands of Philips customers with tech problems.

Overall, this product sucked for me.The experience with Philips sucked even more.I know I will never purchase a Philips product in the future.I resigned to return the item and promptly went out and bought an RCA Lyra 1021 and within minutes of unpacking, it had it working and was listening to my music on it.Coincidence?I think not.

4-0 out of 5 stars very cool and handy...
i looked all over for this thing. NOONE even close to me had it. Ordered it from the seller on amazon from california. in my opinion, this is the coolest overall packaging of any flash-type player out there. the added bonus of being able to transfer files from home/work is very cool as well.

when i first got it, i plugged it in (computer is running xp) and nothing happened. I tried all 3 usb ports. they all work fine with my digital camera and my wife's mp3 player, so i called philips' customer service. they were very nice and asked me to send it in and they would replace it. a week and half later i got the replacement and plugged it in-nothing. i went over to a buddy's house and tried it there (slower computer/older model/etc.) and it worked fine. i went home confused and decided to try it one more time and it worked!!! i don't have a clue what happened but it's worked fine since. (by the way, i spoke with philips customer service 3 times and every time they were very pleasant and helpful.)

Pros:
1. nice sound
2. awesome design
3. can use file storage/transfer device
4. ultra simple
5. no cord, plugs right in! great for charging also

Cons:
1. a bit heavy in your pocket when your running (no clip so it
just has to sit in your pocket)
2. ear buds could be better, but are easily replaced
3. songs don't load onto it quite as fast a some other small players (samsung yepp yp-35)

these cons weren't big deals to me. an ultra cool looking player that is great for active people who normally have to worry about skipping. Head turner.

One last thing-when i plug it into my car stereo via an alt. input cord into a mini jack, it still produces awesome sound. much better than a couple of others i have tried this with.

4-0 out of 5 stars Simple and easy to use.
First of all, this is my first MP3 player. Before I decided to get this player, I did extensive research on MP3 players and other portable audio players. After doing lots and lots of research, my choices came down to ipod, Sony Mini Disc Player, and Philips Key005.
I had consider getting Ipod way before even knowing about KEY005. Ipod seems like something that I had to get. All the commercial in TV and people showing them off in the gym etc., made me wanted to get one too. But,.....I heard something about the battery problems that people are having. Many people were complaining that the battery dies less than a year of the purchase of the ipod. And the cost of replacing the battery wasn't cheap either. And I heard that the Ipod scratches easily. And also Ipod skips easily because it has a hard drive. So it would be useless for those of us who likes to run or work out hard in the gym. Don't get me wrong here, I love products from Apple.I own Apple G4 quicksilver.
So my next consideration was Sony Mini disc player.I love sony designs also.I think sony makes good electronics.I have a sony digital camera and they are awesome. But I heard something about "Atrac". Atrac is something sony developed for their Mini Disc Player. I read somewhere that you have to convert your MP3 files into Atrac file before you export them to your mini disc. And I also heard something about that you can only download a song three times...has to do with digital right. So if you have downloaded your mp3-atrac file three times to your mini disc player, you will not able to download them ever again. I am not sure about this, so if I am wrong, somebody correct me please.
Finally, I came across to this little Mp3 player from Philips. It was small enough for me to carry around and use it while working out. And also this little gadget can be used as removable hardrive. You can download any digital files to the player and upload them to any computer with USB port withouht any software. But I heard something about Window 98 user need to download a driver before connecting the device. (Oh and for the Mac users, this works perfectly with mac. If it doesn't check and see if your USB driver is updated to 1.5.1 or higher. Alos you should always trash the icon of the player to the trash can before disconnecting the device...) Anyway, when it finally arrive to my house, I was amazed at the weight of this player. IT was so light, I couldn't even feel it in my hand. But this thing is built for durability. It doesn't look cheap either. I'm currently using this player while I run and pump up in the gym and it had never skipped. And the sound quality is awesome.I was amazed at the sound quality. It's clear and crisp. And the headphone is nice too. The internal battery of this player last only two hours if you are playing MP3 files and it last four hours if you are playing WMA files. But the player comes with battery pack witch uses AAA battery that will looks like part of the player when you attach it. It's doesn't make the player bigger either. Only con or fuss I have about this player is that you have to hold on to play button little longer than 2 seconds to turn it on and hold on to it until the song plays...and also you have to hold on to it little longer than two seconds to turn if off. And Istill had not figure out what order the player plays the song..I think it has to do with order that you have downloaded them. Anyway, I am one of the happy customer of Philips Key 005.

5-0 out of 5 stars Get this for ease of use and style
Ease of use is best to describe the player. It has a drag and drop interface so there is no need to use a program to transfer music. There is no copy protection on the player so music can be copied to another computer with ease. The remote on the player controls play/pause, skip to forward, skip backward, volume up and volume down. The player resumes playback at the start of the last song played. As for the controls on the player, it's simple as there is one switch. The off/charge position and the playback.download position. I never worry about batteries as I leave it charging in the USB port and when I flip the switch it shows up as a removable storage device. It comes with an external AAA battery pack the provides 10 hours of music and when attached looks like it was built as one and not an attachment. I don't mind the omission of the lcd screen on the player because it really is liberating to not worry about renaming songs. I use this player for the gym over my ipod as it is so much lighter and I put my top 25-30 songs on it and don't worry about changing artists, albums, etc. The sound from the player is amazing. It doesn't have an equalizer and it still sounds better than my 3rd gen 20gb ipod and my old samsung yp-30sh (the key ring replaced this unit). I really was shocked by the sound quality. In terms of looks it is top notch. Everyone comments on how great it looks when they see it. Having said that I bought the KEY005 and not the KEY006 because I would never where one around my neck cause I think it looks stupid to do so. It is also rugged as I have dropped it on the treadmill and there were no chips or dents. In the office if I need to take a file home I just delete a track from the player and drag and drop the document. The only minus is there is no ability to scan through songs. I don't mind this anymore as I just turn on the player and forget about it. The only item I replaced was the headphones. Here is a link of the ones I got with a short cord and work perfectly for me: http://www.audiocubes.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_30&products_id=507 . In summary, I have owned this player for 3 weeks and this is the perfect player for the gym, office and short commutes. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars My IROCK
I've had my IROCK for over a year now, and it's pretty good. However it can be very frustrating when adding songs, it will say 20 MB left but won't let you add any more songs. I can only fit about 55 songs in my IROCK on average, and each song is 3 or 4 MB. And if you have one, don't let the no battery sign fool you. I decided to see how long it would last while saying no battery, and it's 45 minutes! Just a tip. Also, the headphones aren't that great so I would recommend buying your own.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good value and funcionality
For the price this is a very good deal.It works just like a usb drive, so all you have to do is drag the mp3 files in.It's easy to navigate around and the sound quality is excellent. It's size also makes it easy to carry around. The battery life also seems to never run out.If there are any problems it might be the menu navigation (presets, equalizer, etc.) with the player upon first using it, but it's easy once you go through it two or three times. This is an excellent player, don't miss out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Irock does rock
I was able to pick up my irock 860 refurbished of the www.myirock.com site. The player is small but has it all and performs amazingly well.It runs off a single AA battery and seems to have long play times w/o the need of a new battery. It is a flash player so you don't have to worry about shocks and bumps causing it to skip; like you would with the players that have a hard drive on board (ie ipod; zen xtra).Additionally it has a nice FM tuner that brings in all you favorite radio stations; even allow you to store presets; which is nice when you aren't in the mood for the tracks you left on the player from the day before. The display gives track title and album/artist info scrolling on it.It is backlit in blue so you can check in out in low light situations. The software that comes with it it fantastic and allows you to drag/drop your WMA or MP3 files in a snap. This player is definitely underated and should be given more attention as it is a great bargain!!! Wish they would allow addition flashcards to be added to expand upon the player file storeage and it would be nice if you could record FM broadcast....maybe someday but still a great offer.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great little MP3 Player
This is an awesome little MP3 player.I enjoy both the MP3 player and the FM radio. It is very easy to use and syncs well with Windows Media Player. It is perfect for going to the gym because it is so small. It came with a great leather case that fits it well and prevents damage and scratches. My only problem with the player is that I can't fit more than 66-69 songs although it says there is about 70MB of space left on the player.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best once again!
Having an iBook G4 most of the MP3 players for sale are not compatable with Mac. I had an old irock player which has been through the wars and had served me well... but this new irock 860 is better. Fantastic value for money and great for the 1st time MP3 buyer. Most of the people I know bought the ipod but I've seen & heard alot of bad things mostly with the battery life. I can tell you one thing the irock can stand a whole lot more bumps and falls then any ipod could. You can be assured you will be buying a great product! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars pretty neat
I've wanted one of these awhile so I found it at a good price and got it. I found it very easy to use. The software is basic but file transfer is a breeze. I wish it had a little more volume and better mic range. With the 256 mb size it can hold a lot.It makes great WMA files from other audio sources, and like I said files to and from the cpu are a cinch. I wish minidisc was this easy. I would buy some AAA rechargeables with a 10 hr charger. This player is worth the purchase

4-0 out of 5 stars tis good
just got this thingy a few days ago, and man..i am loving it. but--downsides (oh you knew they were there!)...i use iTunes, which automatically converts any audio file into m4a. which i haven't yet found out how to change back into mp3 or wma. which sucks, because this onlyuses wma or mp3! so i have to go through a whole long process of downloading the music onto my iMac (oldie) and then putting it onto a jumpdrive and moving it over onto the PC, which takes a lot more time than it should, because the iMac is so frickin' slow. but anyway, it's lightweight and easy to use. so i suggest if you haven't gotten an iPod (despicable things!) then you should definitely get this.
*smiles*

4-0 out of 5 stars I love this thing!
I was a bit skeptical about this because I had a very bad experience with another MP3 player but I love this thing.
I can record all my favorite songs on here from my CDs and tapes
and carry them with me. It makes my commute from work so much easier to tolerate!

5-0 out of 5 stars fantastic little machine!!
I shopped around a lot before deciding on this player, and have rarely been so pleased with a purchase. This thing has GREAT sound quality, easy and intuitive interfaces, easy to use software, and a huge cool factor.I absolutely love it.It is great as an mp3/wma player, and that it records is just a huge bonus.I have used the recording feature for classes and seminars- it's so tiny it is unnoticable.
Highly recommended. If I could use another I'd buy two.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pogo Who? A Wonder of a Product!
I only buy brand name technology products, because they usually have better support, and they have more financing behind the creation of a new product...I WAS VERY SKEPTICAL OF BUYING A NON-BRAND NAME PRODUCT. THIS PRODUCT HAS SURPRISED ME TO NO END. I am waiting for it to mess up, but is has not yet. Until it does-you have to get this thing-it is smaller than a typical card from a deck of cards(the width and height)...

I will keep it very simple for everybody. This little thing is a portal into the FUTURE. I will explain it this way. I have grown to love putting all of my music on my computer. I play my music for hours by playlists...I have had parties, romantic moments, or just plain background music without the worry messing with scratched cd's or hearing them skip in the middle of the fun moments-life is too short for interruptions.

This little thing records HIGH QUALITY AUDIO FROM ANY AUDIO SOURCE(TAPES-RECORDS) and also from the MICROPHONE-ALMOST STUDIO QUALITY. For some reason, this thing hasnt taken the technology world by storm! But I guess that is the way it goes sometimes. I have archived all of my Stern Audio, old songs from tapes, lectures from school, and even comedy shows from tv.

It is a great mp3 player. Amazon only has the 256mb player, but go to pogoproducts.com and get the 128-I listen to about an hour and a half of music. If you want more, you can buy a SD/MMC card and add space. Get this thing if it sounds good to you. If you want help, I will be more than happy to help.(Call me an altruist) ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

The RioVolt SP65 portable CD player plays CDs, MP3 CDs, and features a built-in FM radio tuner for media-free listening. The SP65 includes a lighted LCD and provides electronic shock protection (ESP) to guard against skipping during playback--up to 40 seconds of ESP for audio CDs and 120 seconds for MP3 CDs.

Assembling collections on your CD burner gives you the option of storing up to an incredible 24 hours of WMA music on a single CD-R or CD-RW. You also get text display for ID3 title information, showing track and artist information while music plays on its large display.

Electronic shock protection keeps your music flowing smoothly during active use, and you'll likely see around 15 hours of playback time for MP3 files using only two AA batteries (supplied). Four equalization presets, folder navigation, 32-track programmable sequencing, repeat play, and shuffle play modes broaden your listening options.

When the player starts, it fills a memory buffer with track data. The CD stops spinning and the tracks continue to play from memory, which helps conserve battery life. When about 30 seconds of time remains in the buffer, the CD will again spin up and refill the buffer. During this time, if the RioVolt is jarred so that the buffer can't be filled--as when jogging, for instance--then the player may begin to skip. The buffer must be full in order to provide skip-free performance.

3-0 out of 5 stars good bang for your buck.., for a little while
i bought this because i was going overseas for 7 weeks and didn't want to lug all my CDs around. It was great, I made about 10 mp3 mixes, put them in a small wallet and enjoyed endless hours of music on planes, bus, dessert, etc. But that was just for about 3 months.First off, the player skips a lot.And I don't mean when I run with it it skips, i mean when i sleep with it it skips. When it's sitting on the floor while I'm drawing, it skips.(skips for no reason) does this for regular CDs and mp3 mixes.couldn't figure out how to program the radio.takes about a minute to start up and read an mp3 mix.i like the readout and the fact it has 2 headphone jacks (ones a lot louder) so i can share music w/a friend.it eats batteries like i eat chocolate (a lot and very quickly) i like how there are many different features, to repeat, shuffle etc. it's not very reliable though, many times it will randomly turn on or off even when i have the key lock thing locked.anyways it was good while it lasted.i currently have an mp3 player (ipod style but not that cultish) in the mail for me and i'm hoping that works better.i would recommend those if you can afford them.not only are they higher quality sound but also you can ditch your cds (or hide them under your bed) so they're a major space saver.either way though, enjoy what you end up with!

5-0 out of 5 stars Anonymous
I don't know why anyone would complain about this product.I got it for $30 and it works great. It DOES NOT play WMA for those of you wondering, but I have a program that converts WMA to MP3, so that's no problem for me.It was a little confusing figuring out how to program the FM radio, but I figured it out myself in about 5 minutes. If you're really having trouble you can look online at www.sonicblue.com/support.It gives you all the help you'll need.I'm not sure of how the battery life is other than what the product claims, no problems there.I've already got it hooked up in my car too, and it works in there. The picture makes it appear as if there really are only a few buttons, but the large circle hasplay/pause/on, forward, back, stop/off buttons that are all multifuncional as well as a special button that enables different play modes as well as the radio. It's not very complicated. So far I love this thing.Get one if they're still only $30

4-0 out of 5 stars Good for the price
I just got this player and found it very easy to use (without even referring to the handbook). It's great being able to play one CD full of about 14 albums in MP3 format. I've not tried other formats yet. The design is very nice and has all the main basic functions. It does seem to last a long time on 2 AA batteries (longer than an ipod ;-)

The sound is OK for the price but I found that it does skip a bit after some time if on the move (unless you hold it carefully). For my use though (listening whilst travelling on the bus and train) I find it just right and the added FM radio is excellent for listening to BBC World service.

I've just sent off for another one for my daughter who is 9 years old and loves the look of it.

3-0 out of 5 stars WMA... does the SP65 play them or not?
The description of the unit's features up top says that it is an MP3/CD player only. The secondary 'in-depth' description says that the unit plays WMA's??? I am confused.

Does THIS specific unit play WMA's too or is it just MP3/CD?

4-0 out of 5 stars The unit is great for kids
Pros: Good quality TFT screen, video playback, support for larger SD cards

Cons: Awkward UI, poor bundled software, weak manufacturing and design

The bottom line: Unless you're ready and willing to spend $00+ on a Personal Media Center (the gold standard) and want to play portable video and audio - and can live with the limitations - the Mustek PVR-A1 32 is a great choice. Perfect for young kids (and even adults).

The Mustek PVR-A1 is a great unit - we purchased two for our kids at Christmas and have used on a couple of trips with great success. Yes, it has some limitations, but for $129 on line, it has great value for money.

I use the units with 256MB and 512MB SD cards (all regular, off the shelf name brands) with success.

Our kids (both under 7) used this on family trips and it easily lasted a 2 hr flight with battery power to spare.

Negatives include...

- the bundled "Multimedia Converter" to covert files - you can load cards directly from your PC (assuming you have an SD reader on your PC). As noted in other reviews, the PC software application that comes with the unit is not very intuitive and prone to problems.

- operational controls are weak, with limited fast-forward and rewind. if you pause a file you will not be able to play from where you left off if you power down/sleep the unit.

- FF is too slow for watching video.

- low quality design and manufacturing, resulting in a weak batter door, front panel controls. Perfect for smaller fingers, adults may have some difficulty turning the unit on and off. The included soft case and screen make up for these limitations.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not Very good
Bought this..Sound is terrible..Has a white noise during playback of video..The fast forward option is so slow and if you press fast forward in just a little will go back to begining of video..No way to advance video ahead to where you left off..Cant save video position if you turn off must start from begining..Mp3 player is good though..Wish I would of saved money and went with Archos PVR.. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars I was very disappointed in this unit.
I was very disappointed in this unit. I was going to take it on two-week trip, where the eight of us could save all of our pictures, and review them in the hotel during the trip, and burn a DVD for all at the end, but after discovering the following deficiencies, I threw it in a drawer instead: (1) power brick and cables were almost as large and as heavy as the unit itself, (2) the unit took 5-7 seconds just to display the next picture - making quick review very frustrating, and (3) the video cable for displaying on a TV did not work, or just barely worked if one jiggled it and held it out 1/16th of an inch and applied pressure - either a defective or poorly designed cable/plug.I'd expect this from a $5 pair of cheap headphones, but this unit cost me almost 600 dollars.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good allrounder
I had the need for a product that could be used for: 1. playing MP3, 2. dumping photos 3.Viewing photos and 4. Portable data storage. Along with the Archos products this was the only device which can do it all. I selected this because I prefer the "gameboy" design since it protects the screen well. In fact, I was so impressed with the specs that I was prepared to pay about $170 shipping(to south africa) and run the risk of losing it since there is no support outside US/Europe at all. It all paid off(so far). Fortunately it arrived intact and I have had the device now for 3 problem free months.

It plays music with exceptional quality and photo dumping from all card formats are a breeze with the very flexible optional adapter. TV connection also works well. The video only supports Motion JPEG - MJPEG.AVI files. I have been able to look at .avi videos taken with a Canon camera successfully. However with a downloadeable translation tool from their web site, many other formats can be translated and it works. The translated video takes up a bit more space after translation. Since the device firmware can be upgraded, one hopes that they will come out with more video codecs. The only glitch i found is that the operating system can be very slow when you have large directories. With 80GB of dispace available, a directory can become too large very quickly. That requires a lot of organizing if you have lots of music to store. I also requested from the support people to confirm (before I ordered)whether I would be able to read a Memorystick Duo (with supplied adapter) but there was no satisfactory answer. Battery life is not great, about 3 hours when playing music only, but that should be expected for a device such as this. When only using it for dumping photos, it lasts for days.

A nice feature is that it can read .M3U playlists created on our PC and you can create playlists on the device itself.

An all in all impressive product which have given me countless hours of joy(so far) and I would recommend it for sure. In fact, I have not seen a device on the market yet for the price that can beat it.

4-0 out of 5 stars One of the better digital storage devices out there
-Easy User Interface. Plug and save for your compact flash card without having to turn the unit on if you are in a hurry.
-Nicely designed exterior and 3.5 inch display.
-The screen resolution in review mode wont allow you to determine sharpness absolutely but definitely will allow you to review pictures and show them to friends.
-There are smaller units out there but this is a nice compromise for size and functionality.
-This unit is a hard drive,so don't expect to take this running when you listen to you MP3 player.
-It has good sound quality when using headphones.
-My only complaint is the "case" is just a felt bag, I was expecting something more durable. ... Read more

Now, battery changes will be fewer and farther between thanks to Panasonic's PowerLast high-efficiency power system, which combines an efficient motor with low-load circuitry for playback time of up to 48 hours on two AA batteries (during MP3 playback). CD playback abilities include ID3 tag support (displays artist names and song titles with properly formatted sound files); 24-track random-access programming; repeat and resume (which picks up where the unit left off when last stopped); and skip/search and memory/recall. 1-0 out of 5 stars Item worked great for a couple months
Last year I bought this item for my daughter. She listens on her bed in her room and does not carry this item around. We were pleased at first. Within a few months the lid ceased to close properly and she had to listen with the unit flipped upside-down to apply pressure to keep the lid closed. A few months later it became temperamental and skipped and/or refused to play. Bottom line is that in less than a year it became unfunctional in a situation with very little jostling. I would not buy this product again. However, at the same time I bought the PANASONIC RP-HS9 Ear Candy Clip-On Stereo Headphones (Silver), and these are a wonderful and comfortable buy. She loves them.

1-0 out of 5 stars Problems to be aware of.
I got one of these back when it was a new thing and cost about $60, and I have encountered the following problems:
- Scratches/engraves a ring around my discs at about 75% out from the center.
- Collects internal dust with a surprisingly fast rate compared to the non-MP3 discman I used before.
- Have to remove the disc to change batteries
- It just broke such that the spindle locks up on startup. I don't know if this is common, but it should not occur from normal wear and tear.
- Skips (in MP3 mode) when walking with it in any pants pocket other than top fron of back pockets.

3-0 out of 5 stars THis is ok
This cd-player is ok, it has live, bass and regular sound, butthe volume cant go so loud. I would recomend a iriver mp3 player or a sony cd player.

4-0 out of 5 stars it was good for the price
well, i bought this cd awhile ago, and like with most electronic purchases, there are pros and cons. One thing i liked not about the machine, but about amazon, is that i ordered this with the free shipping option and got it in about 5 days, 4 days less than the minimum amount of days they said it would take to ship. For starters, this machine as with many other mp3 cd players dont order the tracks correctly. The way they were layed out on your computer for burning will not be the order they will be played on the cd.A pro about this machine is its battery life.36/48 hrs. of battery life is kinda pushing it, but it does get very good battery life...however it sacrifices power to do so.as a mostly classical music listener, the music is a little softer than rock or rap, and therefore the machine would have to be turned up a couple of more knotches. However, this machine simply cannot provide that much volume.Even when i had the volume cranked all the way up in a quiet environmen (with out eq on, to save battery life), the softer parts were completely inaudible.and even with the bass boost eq level, there was basically no sound.Even worse, i use this machine on the train, so it does not give much sound over the tracks.now, u may ask, why did i give this machine a 4 if i dont like it that much?well, there are some other pros.It is not much wider or taller than a compact disk, and even though almost an inch in depth, it is still pretty compact, and very light.plus, it has a cool design.but i gave it the 4 over the 3 for me, not for you....And once again, consider that it gives little volume.

1-0 out of 5 stars Just plain awful
If you care anything at all about sound quality stay far away. I have a very expensive pair of headphones I use with a variety of CD players on various computers, etc. Sound quality has never been an issue with any of them really. Then I got this pile of crap. It sounds HORRIBLE. The two preset eq settings don' help either. I have dozens of Panasonic products including my 1996 model portable CD player (it's huge by today's standards ad takes 6 batteries). I bought this to replace it and the new one made the old one sound incredible. Stay away. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Very Good Choice
I just got this minidisc player 6 months ago and I love it. the extremely light weight is almost impossible to imagine I just put it in my pocket and it disappears.the battery life is a big plus because I can finally listen to my music a entire flight or road trip, unlike the i pod the battery just eats gas, It'll probably get 15 hours to the gallon; on the other hand, the MZ E10 gets about 38 hours to the gallon. Look, if you want a fast transferring sleek minidisc player and blow away all friends Ipods go with this one or a Sony MZ NH-1, Sony MZ NH-900, or a Sony network digtal music player do not touch the Sony MZ N-10 though. This minidisc player is not cheap however every cent you spend on this is strictly excellent quality and this minidisc player sounds awsome.By the way once the battery dies with this puppy the price is very cheap $29 to replace, but once the battery dies on the i pod u might as well buy another one because it's just $179.00 down the drain.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not a beating.
Well, I'm all for seeking out a good product and I applaud the efforts of the reviewers that will not accept an MP3 player that is less than the epitome of perfection in its purest form. That being said, for those of us who just want a classy little player that looks and sounds great with better than average battery life, the SV-SD85 is ideal. Now, if you have read the other reviews you are probably wondering if the software issues are as bad as people claim. I would say that there is definitely a slight learning curve, especially for someone who is not very comfortable using a computer. However- it's really not as bad as they say. Once again, it's not the epitome of perfection, but it's definitely useable. I have transferred hundreds of songs to the player during the time that I have owned it using SD Jukebox 4, and it has not crashed once. (Which makes me wonder if the people who have complained about it have bigger computer problems than just the Jukebox software.) It's a little slower to convert the files first and then transfer them to the SD card through USB 1, but even transferring enough songs to fill a gigabyte card is not as bad as people claim. Be calm, try some feng shui and take a little walk. When you return, you'll have a full SD card and you can go do your thing.Owning this player has been anything but a painful experience and I would recommend it to anyone.

3-0 out of 5 stars Love the SV-SD85 but hate the software
My husband bought this for me in Singapore last month. It's exactly what I wanted. Small, uses cheap SD cards and runs forever. But the software is insane. I keep trying to import my MP3 files and it just keeps crashing. Every so often I get it to take a few more songs.
The mood thing is great. I created playlists by mood which was easy. Just figured out how to get to the playlist today. Hint: Set Mode in the middle, turn on, press FF key, when it says Playlist, press FF key again, then use volume keys to move between playlists. Very intuitive, huh?
Also, I hate having to use the USB reader that came with it to write SD cards. It is very slooooooow. Had to leave it all night to put my songs on the card.
But it runs forever - I was stuck on a flight from JFK to San Diego behind a screaming kid, played songs the whole way. Ahhh...

5-0 out of 5 stars Panasonic SV-SD85 is a great Mp3 palyer!!!
I don't see what all the fuss is about with the software you have to use with the player.I bought the Panasonic SV-SD85 from Amazon. When I received it, I opened it up and took the time to read all of the directions for the Mp3 player and the software. It is really easy to use.If you don't know your way around a computer then you might have problems. The sound quality is great. The size is awesome.I had no problems importing music or uploading it to the SD card.So what, you have to use the SD card reader to write to the card.Just make sure you format the card and rip music to the included software and you're good to go.It's called a little patients, and if you have none then just buy something that is plug and play.It is somewhat expensive, but anything that is really small usually is.You need to take certain things into consideration. The player is really nice, and if you are familiar with computers then you should have no problem with the player.

1-0 out of 5 stars Someone please hack this software
I bought this portible audio player recently as an upgrade for my SD-SV80 model. The feature I was most interested in is the ability to create playlists. What I got, however, was a whole new set of headaches.

First the player itself:It sounds great. It's tiny.It runs forever without recharging - especially when in the case with the back-up battery. It charges easily. It takes SD cards - which I like because they are small and cheap.

Next the interface. It won't play MP3 or AAC files without "SD-ifying" them with a program that transfers them to an SD card (you also HAVE to use the included SD card reader/writer).I can live with that.Yes, kind of a pain, but the hardware was worth it.I really missed the ability to create playlists though - why scroll through 500Mb of tunes to hear the ones you want?

So I invested in the SD85, which supposedly has this ability with the new included Jukebox software. It does - but only between its frequent crashes.THIS SOFTWARE WAS DESIGNED BY DRUNK RODENTS.It's terrible. It crashes frequently. It's so counterintuative that it's worthless.I actually find myself using the old SD80 software to rip and transfer files and I only attempt to use Jukebox when I want to make playlists.

Please do not buy this unit.Supporting Panasonic when they make such bad software is unconcienable.Wait until another brand makes a similarly small unit.

1-0 out of 5 stars Beauty is only skin-deep
I bought this player to travel with. It's a great size and so tiny I can drop in my pocket and not feel the bulk of it like my PDA.But despite it's miniature size, the software that comes with it SUCKS!The SV-SD85 comes with a USB SD card reader/writer and you have to use that with their proprietary SD-Jukebox software to transfer music to the SD card.Unfortunately, the music files get converted to Panasonic's own proprietary format that can't even be seen in the File Manager. What's worse is the SD-Jukebox software is so outdated and there's no upgrade or patches for it.And the software regularly crashes, especially when importing songs with file names that have special characters like accents. It doesn't do well with too many songs either. And I can't even use other music managers like Real Player or iTunes to trasnfer songs (also doesn't work on Mac).

Overall, the design is good but Panasonic really failed to deliver on the software and handcuffs you to their buggy proprietary software. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Light weight and easy to use
First of all, allow me to use the soapbox - It gets to me that some people expect a product to function like all other products on the market put together! One buy a product for the functionality ones needs it for.Reading the marketing material is fine but then every company's product is the best in the world; download the user manual from the product web site, read the product's specifications and instructions, then purchase it if it matches your requirements!

Second - To the reviewer Electronics Fan from Boston MA.This is a Samsung not a Rio digital audio player. I could just see you going to back to a car dealer complaining that you cannot start your Ford with your spouse's GM key.So some advice, use the software that comes with the unit.

Finally, the Samsung YP-35H - I purchased this unit for my wife, who jogs and travels on a regular basis, because of its size, weight and ease of use. The unit holds 2 to 4 CDs depending on the bit-rate used. I copied my wife's CDs onto the PC in 64 and 96 Kbps format to allow her to download the maximum possible onto the YP-35H if quantity is more important than quality. The sound in either formatis as good as any portable CD player I have owned. The controls are easy to use and intuitive; nothing fancy but it has the functionality required. As for the file downloading software goes, you use Windows Explorer to copy the music files from the PC to the YP-35H, again simple yet effective. Unless you copy your music file in a way, as explained below, the only way you can find a specific piece of music is to use the Playmode Intro feature or skip from one song to the next. So the unit's main purpose is download music and enjoy listening to it.To copy file in proper sequence (such as chapters of a book) don't copy the files from the PC to the YP-35H but copy the directory the files are in; the only drawback is that if you are copying music and want to listen in shuffle mode you will only hear one directory/album at a time.A way around this is to copy the music into a directory that can be called "Favourites". As is with virtually all portable units, the headphones/earphones are usually the weakest part of the unit. The earphones that came with this unit are relatively comfortable but if you're running they tend to fall out.So be prepared to buy a pair that fit you well and are appropriate for your use.Battery lifespan is very good. One wish would be to have a way to activate the backlight without activating anything else at the same time. So 4 stars for what it will be used for.

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst software ever
I would never buy a Samsung product. The RIO software is a horrible joke except nobody is laughing.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not for books on tape
I listen to a lot of books on tape and with the rise of books on CD I thought I'd enter the modern era by getting an MP3 player.I picked the YP-35H.Big mistake. It turns out that when you drag and drop files on to the device, there is no guarantee that the track/files will go on in the order you expect. For music, it probably isn't that big a deal. For books, it's unacceptable.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good MP3 Player
This is the first MP3 player I've owned, and I must say that I really like it. I just wish I'd gotten rid of my bulky CD player sooner. Not having used an MP3 player before, I don't have much to compare this to, but I've found the features more than adequate for me, and I think the sound quality (at least for MP3s at 128 kbps) is just fine. I'm no audiophile, so I'm probably less concerned with the quality than I might otherwise be anyway. My main goal was to replace my CD player so that I could listen to music while jogging, and this product does that nicely. Although my "cons" list is longer than my "pros" list, I still give this a four out of five.

Pros:

-Good range of EQ options
-Very small (about the size of a pager)
-Backlit display
-Easy to move files from the computer to the player
-Doubles as a voice recorder (although I haven't tried this feature yet)
-Runs on one AAA battery

Cons:

-Packaged headphones (bud type--they consistently fell out of my ears while jogging)
-Buttons are very small and sometimes difficult to manipulate
-Although it hasn't happened yet, I'm convinced that by snapping the player in and out of the belt clip over and over again, I'm going to break the belt clip (it's necessary to remove the player from the belt clip to both change the batteries and upload files)
-The battery lid also looks like it would break if opened too many times (hasn't actually happened yet)
-The included software for converting CD tracks to MP3 files requires the user to manually input all song/album/artist information. It doesn't appear to be able to retrieve this info from either the CD or the web.
-Fixed memory (not expandable)
-No FM tuner
-Songs are played in alphabetical order, first by artist, then by song title, so custom play orders are not possible, at least not that I've been able to determine (it does have a "random play" function, though) ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Creative Muvo2 Mp3 Player
I have owned this player for over a year and so far I havent had any problems that most others have mentioned about, unit freezing up and trouble shutting down. Overall a simple straighforward easy to use device that suprisingly is durable and when 4gb is not sufficent space for you, the drive is removable (version 1.0 only) for your other compatible digital devices. The audio quality is excellent, especially when paired with good headphones (I use the Creative HN-505 noise cancelling headphones and recommend them) Another recommendation is to buy Notmad Explorer (Universal Edition if you own more than one Creative Labs Mp3 players)from Red Chair Software and you can avoid all the gripes about the software on reviews.

The gripes I have with this player are as follows:
1. The Lcd is small and hard to read
2. No built in Tuner or recorder (Must purchase seperately)
3. The buttons are too small and cant be accessed efficiently (easy workaround is to buy the wired remote)
4. The Creative case for this unit has no window to view the lcd or access the buttons without taking the player out of it.
5. The way the player stores the files on the harddrive is inefficient and is a bit of a chore to find (workaround is to create playlists)

Some of those points are minor to me but may be the ultimate difference to many. The main thing would be to buy the wired remote to gain fm radio and voice recording capability. Another plus is you wont need to fumble with the tiny buttons on the player and you can have the lcd on the remote within view that can be clipped on anywhere. Make sure that you download and install the latest firmware and drivers for Windows XP. Additional always check the Creative Labs website for the latest accessories such as the armband case, extended run time battery and car charger.

Overall there is nothing too big to fault in this player, It has substance, capacity, small form factor, doubles as a removable disk with drag and drop functionality, microdrive is removable, and the sound quality is excellent with more than adequate volume levels.

This is not the player for those of you that value style, if you want that buy an IPOD Mini. If you want something that is cheaper, better sounding and has a removable/user replacable battery then this is the player for you.

3-0 out of 5 stars Difficult to use
My problem with this device, that I have just bought, is getting tracks into the correct order. The player plays tracks in alphabetical order, unless you manually adjust tags. One minute I'm listening to Bach, then to Red hot chilli peppers. Playlists are played in order, but the supplied software reorders tracks within artists alphabetically, meaning that without intervention it is impossible to keep albums in the correct order. This is crazy. Generally the operation of transferring and organizing content is poor to awful

1-0 out of 5 stars THIS IS THE WORST PRODUCT I HAVE EVER SEEN
I bought the 4GB Creative mp3 player and it was delivered within 2 days: good start. I installed the software, transferred the songs, everything worked okay. I played it for 10 minutes (LITERALLY TEN MINUTES) sitting in my living room, and after 5 songs, it stopped playing. none of the buttons worked, it was frozen. I followed the directions on rebooting it 500 times, but nothing worked.I sat for two hours with the piece of junk trying EVERYTHING to fix it, and nothing worked. I should have known, you buy cheaper, you get cheaper. I should have gone with an ipod mini.DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT OR YOU WILL IMMEDIATELY HAVE TO SEND IT BACK.I didn't heed the warnings from the reviews I read... I wish I had. what a disappointment.

1-0 out of 5 stars Warning - if you're only buying for the 4GB Drive
I bought this product based on advice to raid the 4GB drive at half the price for my Sony F828 camera. It didn't work, giving a CF card error. Then I found that I'm not the first sucker to fall for that trick - I found several bulletin boards with messages from similarly disappointed people who tried the same thing. As far as I can see there's not a solution in sight. The same appears to apply to some other cameras.

5-0 out of 5 stars HACK the $GB HardDrive
The 4GB Microdrive Hardrive alone is worth around 400 bucks and YES you can use it in some digital camera or as an external drive
just check the web for hack and fix ( must be formated using win2000) ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars COMPLETELY Satisfied
I was looking for a great MP3 player, and I've been very disappointed with some digital products from other companies, so I was very hesitant to purchase one.I also read several reviews about players from some other brands (particularly RCA, which is what I was wanting to purchase), and read about several problems and disappointing findings about the player.I bought this a few months ago and haven't had any problems.Even beyond that, this player surpasses everything I imagined. It is highly customizable, even letting you set how long the LCD lights when you push buttons, has very easy to use and effective software, is small, compact, reliable and even the FM radio (which had nothing to do with why I bought it - it was just a bonus) lets you tune up to .05.I keep finding stuff I can do with it.

It is well worth the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect All Around
I first came across the iAudio CW300 while searching for digital voice recorders. Needless to say, the CW300 128 performs perfectly as a voice recorder, picking up most sounds clearly through its two settings: HQ (High Quality) and UHQ (Ultra High Quality). For HQ I got almost nine hours of recording time and for UHQ I got around 4 hours of recording time. I also found it handy that you can hear what you are recording through your earphones, simplifying the question of whether you are recording what you want (even though the recording seems to pick up even more than what I hear). Starting and stopping recording is easy with just a touch of a button on the face of the CW300. Transferring the voice recordings to your computer via USB is also very easy with the included software.

Of course, the CW300 acts also as a MP3 player and a FM radio and it performs perfectly in both of these functions as well. Maybe 128 is not enough for both heavy MP3 and voice recording usage, but I managed to fit 21 MP3s of 128 kbps quality and still have 2 hours of UHQ recording time left. FM reception is great and can be recorded. Battery life is astounding for just one AA. The company's claim of 30 hours seems about right.

The only drawback I can see is that the jog controls are a bit tricky to get used to (at least for me). But after a bit of usage they proved to be efficient and quick.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Sound
You can read about the pro's and con's for this player everywhere, so I will only say that this player has unbelievable sound, and if you buy one, you will not regret it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing Product, Would Recommend to Anyone
Overall the CW300 is amazing. The player is compact, easy to use, packed with features and accessories, and it looks so good that your will want to keep it locked up with your priceless jewels (no, not in your underwear!). If you are in the market for a portable MP3 player / FM player / Voice recorder, and you don?t need 500 MP3s stored on the device, I would absolutely recommend the CW300 to you. I absolutely recommend that you purchase the CW300.

Another attractive feature of the CW300 is the fact that it can be used for data storage. You will just need the included JetShell software installed on all the computers you want to transfer data to / from. With that said, if you are also in the market for a usb drive, why not kill two birds with one stone? I can't say it enough, the CW300 is great, I highly recommend it.

However, if you are looking for a player that can hold huge amounts of MP3s, you will want to keep looking. If enormous capacity is your deal-maker, I suggest considering an Apple iPod or a Creative Nomad Jukebox ZenZX.

Pros:
Looks amazing
Packed with features
Jog dials
Great quality headphones included
Very customizable
Available with 128MB, 256MB, and 512MB
Software is easy to use
Can be used for data storage
30 hrs of playback from a single AA battery!

Cons:
Maximum of 512MB capacity

5-0 out of 5 stars Very satisfied!
When I first received my CW300 the FM tuner wouldn't work. I send an email to JetAudio and requested a replacement unit. My email and follow-ups were answered quickly (within a day or less) and I shipped my player back to them. I got the replacement within 6 days (!) and it is working flawlessly. Sound quality is superb and it has plenty of features. The software is very easy to use and I particularly like the accessories (leather case with belt clip, armband/armband case).
All in all, a great product and outstanding customer service. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars I Need the XP Driver Patch
I need the XP patch in order to make my new Evolution MP3 player work on my computer. If you have one, please submit a comment here and I'll post my email address or try to get Amazon to put us in contact with one another.(I am reluctant to post my email address on this site.)

4-0 out of 5 stars An excellent niche product and more durable than it looks
Cords hate me.Headphone cords, keyboard/mouse cables, all that stuff.I tried to run with a walkman once, and ended up snagging the headphone cord, breaking the walkman AND the headphones and hurting myself in in the process.

Anyway, I got this player so I could listen to music while running without being a danger to myself or those around me.It does that job VERY well; the sound quality of the MP3 player is acceptable and it's not too heavy on the ears.I haven't gotten the FM radio to work worth a fig yet, but with the MP3 player, I don't really care. And I've never had any problem with the included MMC Toaster under Windows XP, even w/o updating the driver.

Sure, there are some things I don't like - the volume doesn't go up real loud, your only navigation option is 'skip to the next track,' there's no pause, etc., but other reviewers have noted all that. The only thing I have to add here is that after a year and a half of several-times-per-week usage in a high-sweat environment, the volume doesn't always change when I turn the dial.

But the reason I'm writing this review is because I recently put the thing through the washer AND the dryer.Everything came out in the washer - both batteries, both compartment covers, and the MMC card; the four wires that connect the earpieces came out of their groove in the back of the neckband.I let the player dry out for three days, tucked the wires back into place, replaced all shed parts, said a brief prayer, and fired it up.

It worked perfectly.

I have had a set for a while and love them! I added a 128mb card to my old set and it worked well before being misplaced. I ordered a new set for a friend, and we have tried several 128 mb cards and can't get them to work. I think the first was San Disk and must have been compatible. Now, with the new ones, I cant get them to format. I also can't find the patch on the Microsoft website for XP. Can someone tell me if they have had the same problem and how it was resolved? Which MMC brands have you found to be compatible? Thank you.

4-0 out of 5 stars Neckphone comments
As an avid jogger, I really enjoy my neckphones small size, light weight, and portability.I got these for 30$ and added a 128 MB card which has worked flawlessly. That gives me over two hours of music at a very good bitrate. While the sound quality is only average and the radio has problems with reception, for a light, easy MP3 player, this model is excellent. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Ultra Small. Great for working out with
In a nutshell the positives for this player are:
+ Ultra small
+ Incredible battery life from the built in rechargeable batteries
+ Tight and expensive-looking manufacturing

The only two negatives I would have are:
- Horrible headphones - replace with a good pair from Sony etc.
- Mediocre user interface on the LCD. Especially for volume up/down

Overall a great buy. The 256MB player holds 40+ long songs, which is enough for any workout!
