3-0 out of 5 stars misprint
I think that it is supposed to say "21 minute" not "210 minute" in case anyone else was confused about that. And it should probably be changed.I just did three stars because I have no feelings about the product either way being that I did not buy it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Compact and convienient
I've been using these disks for all manner of uses for quite some time now...they're great for putting your resume and other info onto and bringing to job interviews, for example....and have yet to have come across any of the disk/data corruption issues mentioned.

1-0 out of 5 stars Shameful and Degrading
Let me start by correcting the name of the product. It is a 210 MB / 24 minute CD-R spindle.I went to Europe with my CD Mavica and this exact item.It is now a little over a month after my return, and several disks (containing our trip to London and a friend's wedding) no longer work in my computer or camera. It seems the data is degrading from the disks. Luckily, we gave copies of the wedding pictures to the bride, so we'll get those back.London, however is only captured in memory anymore.I should have known.Memorex. . .memory + ex."ex" comes from the Latin for "out of, from."You get the picture.Unless you took it with a memorex disk.

5-0 out of 5 stars De lo Mejor
Son Excelentes. Sobre todo por su tamaño. Lo unico malo es que les son dificiles de conseguir las cajas o los sobres.

5-0 out of 5 stars I've tried it all...
...and this is the best media I have come across at the 16x speed.I have tried it on three brands of burners with only 1 failure out of 50 tries (and that one was likely as much my system's fault than the disk's fault). The three DVD Burners brands that I have used are Lite-on, Rosewill, and MicroAdvantage. They ARE buggy on certain Pioneer Burners, so you may want to avoid them if you are using a Pioneer.

With regard to high failure rates, before giving up, be sure to update the latest firmware on your burner, turn off any programs running during the burning stage, and make sure your power supply is sufficient (which can cause errors at higher speeds or the outside of the disk). If that doesn't work, you may want to try different software; when I did, my cheap DVD's went from jumping around to solid as a rock.If you still have high failure rates, it could be defective and subject to warranty.Otherwise, you may just have to stay away.

But, in my opinion, these are the most reliably produced disks out there, with Ridata coming in a close second.

5-0 out of 5 stars No Problems at 16X so far
I bought a new 16X burner for my PC and have tried the 25pk Verbatim 4.7GB 16X DVD+R media on it.I have not had any failures so far burning at 16X and the playback has been fine.I have bought another 25pk of this media.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best 16x media in the market
Verbatim 16x DVD+R (media code MCC004, by Mitsubishi) is currently one of the best 16x DVD+R media in the market, in my opinion. I have 100 of these (4x25 pack) and consistenly burn excellent in my Plextor 712a (at 12x) and two BenQ 1620A (at 16x). By excellent means every burn will give a very low PIE/PIF (Parity Inner Errors/Failure) and zero POF (Parity Outer Failure). I'm sorry if its too technical but this is how I measure burn quality. When the burn quality is excellent, you will most likely never get any playback problem. Visit cdfreaks dot com in "media" or "dvd recording" forum for more information. I also own many different media from Taiyo Yuden TY T01/T02/G02, Ricoh R01/R02, Sony08D1, MCC003/004 etc and can confirm that MCC004 is one of the best quality. For your information, these companies (TY, Ricoh, Sony, Mitsubishi, Maxell) make a very good "dye" for DVD and CD disks under different brand (Fuji, TDK, Memorex, Verbatim, Sony etc), along with other poor dye makers. With a dvd identifier (free) you can check the media code of the disk, hence you will know who makes the disk.

1-0 out of 5 stars A bad choice for 16x writing
With a destructive toddler in the house I like to back up my DVD movies.
Having recently purchased a 25 unit spindle, I recently tried backing up several DVDs with my sony DRU-710A 16x DVD recorder.Although the recording process initially did seem to work smoothly, when I attemped to play back the disks recorded at 16x speed, I would have read errors and lockups on DVD players usually towards the end of the film (the outside of the physical disk, where maximum recording speed is obtained.)
I did have better reliability recording at 4x speed and suspect that 8x writes will work fine as well.Given the fact that I paid a premium for this new high speed media, I am disappointed.I have had nearly 100% reliability with Memorex 8x DVD+R, recently making 25 successful recordings in a row with this brand (ASIN: B0001MKU4S) ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work with Marantz
I have a Marantz CD recorder DR 6000. A previous generation of Memorex Music CD-R worked fine (White with purple lettering and blue recording surface) This new generation will not be read by this recorder. The recorder could not initialize and gave an disc error with several I tried. It Worked fine with some new SONY CDRs.

1-0 out of 5 stars Will not record
I finished up my last batch of these discs bought some time ago, without a problem. BUT the next batch purchased most recently will not record on my Philips CDR 765. There are too many different types of media discs and not labeled properly. Should be an industry standard that the consumer can readily see that they can use them. Not sure what to get now or if another brand will work properly.

1-0 out of 5 stars Extremely Disappointed
It appears these music CD-Rs do not work on most home CD players.I can only get them to work in my computer and in my car CD player (and that doesn't play back as great a quality as I'd like).I thought these would work since I had previously bought JVC Audio CD-Rs which are awesome.I won't bother with these again and unfortunately, I bought two spindles!

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Playbility
I have tried a handful of different CD-R's in the past few years, and these have the best quality. Memorex did a great job with these black CD-Rs.

The black colour on them looks great, as well.

I use these to burn audio cds, and every track sounds as crisp and clear as on the original cd. Another advantage to these are that you can see dust on them perfectly, so they are easier to maintain. There are absolutely no problems I have encountered with these cds, I highly recommend them.

5-0 out of 5 stars Try the 10-Pack..
I wanted to try this Memorex CD-R, 80 Minute in the 10-pk box before committing to a 50-Pk spindle. I've had nothing but good luck with these CD-R's. (Not a coaster in the bunch!!)
If you aren't sure about getting that 50-pk spindle, go on and order the 10-Pack.Give them a try and(if you are as satisfied as I am with their performance) order that 50-pk spindle..you won't be disappointed!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Works great at 8x!
I have an NEC burner and these discs work great at 8X. Some people buy them because some Verbatim's carry an MMC003 media code and can burn at 12X. The truth is, Verbatim use to make their own media, but now just rebadges them with thier name and are actually made by varied media manufacturers. In the end, you get varied results when you burn faster than what the media is rated, becuase the media is not always the same, even though it was packaged as Verbatim. If you intend to burn at 8x, then these will be fine for your purposes. But if your intent is to burn these at above 8x, be careful, different burners will get varied and unstable results, becuase you'll never know what you'll end up with.

Product Description

This disc has a gold "Diamond Coat" top surface, and a gold (Phthalocyanine) recording surface, with a maximum recording speed of 52x. It will work with Rimage Prism and Primera Inscripta printers. Its packaged in 100 pc shrink wrap, and in master cartons of 600 pcs. This product is not designed to work in a Rimage Everest printer. This will work with screen printing. Mitsui/MAM-A Why is it better? #1 The Dye Since the laser which records the data burns the dye, it is a key aspect of the technology required to manufacture a high-quality CD-R. Indeed, One of MAM's greatest strength lies in its use of the patented Phthalocyanine, the best organic dye currently available. #2 The Surface Mitsui/MAM-A discs feature their own âDiamond Coatâ surface, which resists scratching and fingerprints. Unlike a pressed CD-ROM, normal CD-R processing leaves the most vital area the most vulnerable. Just below that lacquer surface & reflective layer on top of your disc is the precious dye layer, which is what stores all your data. Scratch the top, and youâve got a problem. Mitsui/MAM-A Diamond Coat is an extra hard surface that keeps the data safe. #3 The Consistency Every disc Mitsui/MAM-A makes is made to the center of the Orange Book standard. They donât cut any corners with shorter stacking rings (causes static), thinner reflective layers (poor playback on old readers, or dye (100-300 year life vs. 10-30) ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Good durability, but burn errors galore
Blank CD-R companies always seem to be a hit or miss. Some have good durabilty, and some have good burning, some (only a few) have both, and some (once again only a few) neither. TDK is the company that has good durability of their CD-Rs, but almost half are errors.

The packaging states "48x", so I burned at 48x on a Buslink drive (52x24x52). It choked, and took 10 minutes for Nero to say "Burn error had failed at 48x". So, I went lower at 32x. Same thing. Then I went to 24x and the thing finally worked. If a package says "48x", I'm expecting 48x, not 24x. Even at times 24x would choke and not burn correctly.

Yes, I do have a few TDK CD-Rs that are 2-3 years old and look almost new compared to the 2-3 month old Sony, but with all these errors, will I ever get to experience that? Try looking at Maxell, Philips, and Samsung.

5-0 out of 5 stars TDK's CD-R quality is great and will last longer.
I have learned a hard lesson in buying blank CD-R over the years.I first bought the blank aluminum surface cheap no-name CD-R at the computer fair. They were OK; they don't last as long as TDK, but burn well.Only 2-5 bad CD in a bundle of a 100 failed.I decided to upgrade the look of the blank CDR on my next purchase and got Sony.TDK and Yamaha were noticeably expensive.Sony's CDR(smooth pearl surface) are the absolute worst (read my review on for Sony CD-R) the CD will burn, but over time become unreadable and the surface started to fake.

My friend burned me a TDK's CD about 2-3 years ago and the CDR still look like new.So, I decide to give it a try.I read somewhere that TDR surface is a little more scratch proof then the other brands.I have no problem burning any of TDK.I have a Yamaha burner burning between 4-20speed and the TDK 48x has no problem. I have 3 generation of TDK, they all look a like very nice with smooth silver surface and a nice clean design. The surface at time is harder to write on then other cheaper CDR with a dryer marker, but I think it is because of high quality TDK surface. If you want to save a couple of cents per CDR and get cheaper CDR then it won't last as long as a TDK's CDR.Noticeable: Memorex is pretty good, and cheaper. Some HP is very nice with gold surface.Yamaha is TDK quality but pricier, Sony (pearl surface) is crap.Fiji is good and also cheaper.Looking at the surface you can tell which brand model is good. The gold surfaces are the best and pricier then the aluminum/silver surface. You will always get a better deal when you buy a 100-spindle over a 20pack.I first bought TDK 20 pack to see how good they were before I moved to up to a 100-spindle. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Best Music CD-R
I've tried different name brand manufacturers over the years and Maxell is the best out there. The disc will play in any cd player out there, even an old one I have from 1984!

Plus Maxell is the ONLY brand I have found that will not skip in a car or portable. Seems better than even standard factory made music CDs

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Audio CD-R's
A few years ago, I had a 50 spindle of these Maxell CD-R's. They worked great for me. I've used them for making personal mixes, and they still play fine til this day. I believe these CD-R's came out in 2001. CD-R's that were sold back then seem to be better than the ones being sold today. Most of the new music CD-R's I've purchased today are either defective, or just won't play in certain stereo systems. These particular CD-R's played in every stereo I've used so far.
So, if you're looking into purchasing these, I'd have to say that you're making a good choice.

1-0 out of 5 stars Maxell Audio CDRs Now Poor Quality!
Buyer beware: this is no longer the same product. Maxell has recently changed their audio CDRs.Formally, they were manufactured in Japan; now they are made in Taiwan. All the older Maxell discs would play in EVERYTHING. However, a large percentage of discs in this new CDR media are defective. The new discs will no longer play in my Panasonic boom box or in my Honda car stereo.Worse, some of these CDs will fail to play in anything after a few days.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best on the market
For me these have been the best CD's on the market.I basically used this brand because they were the ones I generally used when transferring my albums to cassette. The same quality continues.

I personally never liked using Fuji or Sony recording media in the past.TDK wasn't bad with cassettes; however, my record with CD-R's with them has been 25 wasted discs out of a spindle of 50.I have so far used hundreds of the Maxells (this line and their others) and have only had one or two discs I had to discard due to errors.

Also, all the ones I made a few years ago still sound great.

These are the best CD-R's for both price and performance.

5-0 out of 5 stars great product, works very well for me
I was surprised to see the results the prior reviewer had in using these music CD-Rs.I have been using the Maxell CD-Rs for three years and I have never had a problem. The home audio CD Recorder that I use is the Sony RCD-W1 and I get a perfect copy every time with the Maxell CD-Rs.I know some CD burners on PCs can use music/audio CD-Rs to make copies but I know that there are occasional burn/read errors when using them.In that situation, I suggest sticking to regular CD-Rs.I have a stack of burned Maxell CD-Rs that I am alwasys listening to in my car and to date play flawlessly. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars great
Definitely recommend these CD-R's. The price is great for so many CD's. Memorex brand never disappoints. I've been burning with Memorex CD's for a year and while other brands tend to go bad after repeated usage, Memorex CD-R's never fail. Stick with Memorex.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best I've Used
I never thought I would burn a cd without noise on it.I had been using a 4X USB burner with Maxell gold discs, and thought the burner was the problem. Then I got a new computer with a 40X writable burner, and had the same problem, even at only 4X speed.I was about ready to give up on burning music, and I bought these Memorex discs.Perfect burn at 40X.No noise whatsoever.Definitely the best I've ever used, and the only ones I'll use from now on. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great value for CDR Media.
I love KHypermedia CDRs. I burn a lot of CDs to give out to my classes. I have used this brand in my computer CD burner and in my freestanding CD burner and they burn fabulously in either unit. The color also remains on the top of the CD (I've been having problems lately with other brands peeling apart). These are a great brand and this is a good price!

1-0 out of 5 stars Bought a 100 pack 1st 50 worked great, next 50 are ...
Bought a 100 pack 3-4months ago and loved them, they ...seemed to work well. Then recently no matter what speed I would burn them at, what computer I would burn them on, or where they were being played they played like ....

In audio CD players they would skip or hiss, in my MP3 player they would often make a poping noise and then cause the player to error out and stop playing. On computers they would work, but would take 5 to 10x longer to read than an Identical copy written on other media.

At first I blamed by burner or my players, but then upon closer inspection I noticed that midway though the spindal the batch tracking number (on the inner circle of the CDs) had started to be printed in a different font... guessing this was when the bad batch started also.

True they are 1/2 the price of better media, but for me I'd rather pay twice as much, have the same number of CDs work, and have confidence that when I burn a CD it will work.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good CD-Rs for a Good Price
For one thing, these CD-Rs are better than Imation. They're just as thin, but Imation cracks if they are stacked up in a pile.

These CD-R's are 99% error-free.Some errors might occur if you are over-burning more than the capacity or if your software has an error.

The only problem is that the silver might peel off and it's not a good idea to put CD covers because CD-Rom drives would have a hard time reading them. With a CD cover:
1. After 40 minutes, my DVD-drive fails to read the CD.

2. My CD-RW drive won't read the CD after 50 minutes.
3. In a laptop drive, the CD makes flapping noises.
4. In a CD player, the players does not read it after 5 minutes.

If you want more durable CDs, buy at local stores. At least that way, it would be easier to return them. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Great Concept/Poor Labeling
I will first say that I like the Vinyl Disc CD-Rs, and will continue to use them. HOWEVER, if you are purchasing the printable CD-R's be sure that you are only going to print Text on them. Verbatim gives you no space to put a real design (artwork) on it because the core of the CD is not printable and has their Name on it.

If you are trying to include a design, as in a picture of some sort, I would suggest that you purchase the color CD-Rs (which are a few bucks cheaper) and then purchase their labels.I must also say theVerbatim labeling system is cumbersome and not very efficient, especially and specifically compared to the NEATO labeling system, but unfortunately NEATO does not make Vinyl CD-R labels any more, which is truly a shame because their labeling system is far superior to Verbatim's.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, snazzy, buy 'em!
These are great CDs...very eye-catching and I haven't had any skipping problems.Recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
These CD's work awesome...As for the person that gave them 2 stars cause of the matte finish to them... Just make sure you are ordering what you want...These matte finished ones are specially made to printed on using an ink-jet printer...The colored ones are not meant for that... those are just the regular CD-R's

5-0 out of 5 stars Great and Groovy Retro-Look CD-R's! FAR OUT, MAN!
These Verbatim 80 minute/700MB Digital Vinyl CD-R's are THE grooviest things to hit the market for people OVER 30 that actually REMEMBER the old 45 RPM vinyl singles!

A recordable disc designed after the popular and groovy 45-rpm record format with a black and white label that you can print or buy Verbatim's #B0000TFC9A and print up some 70's look labels! Or, Verbatim now has a 10 pack of METAL vinyl CD-R's - #B0001CJCCO.5 of Gold and 5 of platinum.Ora color coded 10 pack - #B00006SCKB. ALSO VERY GROOVALICIOUS!

All of these eye-catching discs are a great way to save LP collections, burn your personal music mix or even make a FAR OUT business presentation.

These CD-R's include Verbatim's original Azo Blue technology for superior audio writing performance on CD burners and broad read compatibility on car CD players, home audio systems, and portable CD players. Digital Vinyl CD-R's are protected with a dual-layer anti-scratch coating that safeguards data for years to come and are backed by Verbatim's Lifetime Warranty.

I have bought and burned over 75 of these great CD-R's and haven't had problem ONE with them. They are a GREAT and FUN product!

So grab a 50 pack and enjoy the look of a blast from the past!

Highly RECOMMENDED!

Happy Burning!

5-0 out of 5 stars It works perfectly with no flaws
I bought this at the store and thought I was going to have problems with this company but i didn't. I first burned a music cd using Nero 6 and played it on my cd player and it worked with no problems. I also burned an ISO onto another CD-R and was able to use it with a label. Still no problems. I finally put some pictures on another cd and have looked at them from the cd and it has never failed me. This product is very good. I also did some other tests. Cd drives will not be able to read the cd if it is dusty but after it is wiped (even in a circular motion which is bad for the cd) it will work. I don't know if thats any different for any other company... Some one said that putting labels on the CDR will mess it up. It doesn't. At least not for me. I have put around 10 labels on different KHypermedia CDRs and they all work.

5-0 out of 5 stars GOOD
Usually I need many cds to burn my files, but black cds usually are pretty expensive..
Finally I found cheap and high quality black cds..
At firt, I didn't feel sure about this cd because I had never heard about the brand khypermedia before.. ya~ that was ture...
but you know what.. it's just great!!! ^_^b

5-0 out of 5 stars An Absolute Bargain with High Quality thrown in.
These discs are flat-out-hands-down The Real Thing.
I bought a 50 disc spindle of these last year in a local store because the price was too good to pass up.They burned fine at top speed and down to 2x.Since, I recieved a 100 disc spindle for Christmas (I have a large 600+ CD collection to backup) and bought 2 more 50s and the only "coasters" I've made were my own durned fault.I bought a 30 and a 50 of Memorex and four of those refused to burn.I should have known better from my experiences with their tape products.
I've made audio, data and SVCDs.I even used a few to back up some old freeware that is no longer extant anywhere but private archives and freed up hard disc space in the bargain. That's high praise indeed!I've successfully overburned a couple to 82 minutes(equiv.) packing on audio books ripped to mp3 for trips.
Never have I had a problem with a CD-ROM or DVD or CD audio player reading these.Anecdote?I have a CD that my 12 year old Discman refuses to play anymore.I ripped it with Exact Audio Copy, burned it with Nero and that 12 year old Discman happily plays that new disc all the way through without a glitch. That saved me the cost of the spindle right there.
The busiest discs are still in fine condition through many, many trips in and out of the CD sleeve. (Maxells seem to have a surface made of gelatin, they scratch so easily.)
Complaints?Well... The K-Hypermedia logo takes up all of the top half of the disc so if you want to write comments, you'd better be brief or be willing to put in the time (and money) to make your own labels. That's it.
Conclusion: I use TDK mainly because they are easier to find, but I don't hesitate to buy these because they are no-name and neither should you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hard to trust a value brand, isn't it?
In April 2003 (six months before this writing) I was dimly aware that I was running out of CD-Rs, and so when Amazon's front page confronted me with this cheap spindle of something called "KHypermedia" I actually paid attention instead of clicking on through.I'm usually wary of value brands of anything, especially those I've only seen online, but because these discs were on sale from an already very low price, and because I was ordering something anyway, I clicked them into my cart.

I've now burned dozens of music CDs, video CDs, and data storage CDs from this spindle, and they've all been fine and remain so.No skips, no coasters, no degradation over time --- in short, no difference from any other CD-Rs I've used.If this is the best per-disc price you've seen on this particular shopping trip, go for it. ...
