Good Quality But Failed in Light Fastness Test
I bought a spindle of this Fuju CDR made in Japan by TY.Physical quality is number one among the brands that I ever used, burning quality and compatibility are also number one.

Then I burned one disc of each brand, and put them on my window for a sun burning test.After 20 days, Fuji lost its color completely, not readable anymore.I was surprised.

If you are interested, here is the result for some other brands,

Verbatim, can only burn at 16x in my 24x burner, 70% C2 error in old cd drive after 40 days

Maxell, can only burn at 8x in my 24x burner, less than 1% C2 error in old cd drive after 40 days, 0% C2 error in cd burner

Memorex, can burn at 24x, 30% C2 error on day 1 in old cd drive, 2% C2 error after 40 days in cd burner.Worst compatibility.

Fuji, can only burn at 16x, 0% C2 error on day 1 in old cd drive, died after 20 days.

Fuji was made in Japan, all others in Taiwan, all rated at 40x or 48x.

I will try Maxell CD-R pro next to see how long it will last under the sun.

Good price but not so good quality
I bought these cds a lot of time ago and I remember that I lost 5 cds because of problems in the burning process (10% of Cds was lost).

The quality of this CDs is not very good.The upside surface is very vulnerable and you can even scratch it easily only by touching at it.You can easily remove the surface completely!The result is going to be an unusable transparent CD.

Many of these discs are right now a waste because of the problems with the surface and hardly will buy cds from this manufacturer again.Though, I understand, it's a good price.

Please be aware of the quality.

Made in Japan
These Fujis are made by Taiyo Yuden in Japan. It's the same as Maxell's CDR-PRO series. Nowadays it's hard to find quality CDRs. I've tried SONY, MEMOREX, TDK, PHILIPS, Verbatim, YAMAHA(OEM of Verbatim), Maxell (non-pro) and Imation. They are all taiwan-made with colorless surface (Verbatim is the only exception. It's either Blue or Green). Among them the Philips and TDK were made by CMC which are the worst. They are almost transparent and my SONY 175 cannot recognize them. Only my YAMAHA F1 can write them. But Fuji and maxell CDR-PRO are fantastic. They are light-green (not as dark as Verbatim DATALIFE plus) and works flawlessly. If you want quality products, buy Fuji. If you want unique color, Buy Verbatim Vinyl CDR(they are blue dye).

Fuji Taiyo Yudens...thumbs up all the way
I've used these CD-Rs countless times, and I've gotta say...WOW. I've never experienced a better product with more quality control and better workmanship. I mainly use these for trading live material from different bands (the smashing pumpkins in general). I've tried MANY brands of media...Imation, Memorex, TDK, Sony, PNY, Teon, Maxell, Durabrand, Philips, BASF, Khypermedia, No-Name brands...EVERYTHING. Believe me, I've had tons of time and reason to try all of these out (a full summer of trading and 1000 CDs worth of live material). Out of all those brands, I thought FujiFilm beat them, hands down. TDK and Memorex are also good brands, but Fuji was made in Japan, and boy do I lurrrve Japan products (I'm a video game fan, as well as a guitar player...haha you know how that is). Things made in Japan just have a higher quality control rating and are much easier and less stressful to work with. I may not like their people or country, but man I like some of Japan's products.

So bottom line :If you're looking for reputable, high-end media that won't put a hole in your wallet, look no further. FUJI IS YOUR ANSWER.

quality control is the key
Unlike a lot of brands of CD-R media -- like Memorex -- Fuji manufactures its own discs, so you will always be getting the same quality discs every time you buy a spindle.With other brands -- including off-brands and store brands -- two spindles on the shelf might be from different plants or manufacturers.One spindle might work great, but that's no predictor of the next one.

I've been through 4 spindles of the Fuji CD-Rs without a problem on my HP 8x IDE burner.The overall durability has been good, too.

good quality cd-r
This is a good quality cd-r, I have burned almost 1000cd's in my yamaha F1 cdrw burner and only one is defective

32x, Don't believe it.
I've been shopping amazon for years now and this is the first time I've felt compelled to write a review.This product does not cut the mustard.Using a CD burner that has burned and continues to burn many a CD, these things weren't readable at 32 or 16, and I've had some failures at 8.I was low on drink coasters anyway.

Trouble using them to burn large VCD files
I'm having the same problem that another review indicated, when burning large mpeg's (larger than 659 MB) i'm getting consistent data redundancy check errors.

Questionable Quality
I put large video files on them.About 1 in 5 discs fail after
burning sucessfully.That is, when I go to access the file on the disc later, I get a cyclic redundancy error.This occurrs on both of my computers, both of my burners.So... I'm pretty sure it's a problem with these disks -- just being very easily damaged.

Good and reliable
Overall, these disks have been reliable and affordable.They work well for backing up my computer as well as for recording music.

Good quality, low price
I've burned about 250 of these "black back" CD's over the last
two years for various purposes, both audio and data.Out of all of those, I had five that failed to burn correctly, but four of those were my mistake (forgot to turn off my screen saver and it kicked in during the burn), while only one failed for no apparent reason.For the price, they rock!

TDK Works Great!
These CD-R's Work wonderfully. Its one of the first types I started using and have had no problems to report. All my CDs have been playing back with great sound quality and no drop outs. I have had problems before with certain songs cutting out and not burning or a somewhat scratchy noise dwelling in the background. An added bonus that is often overlooked is the fact that the front of the disk is clearly distinguishable over the back of the disk. On some cds you have to write all over the front part to remember which is which. Small as that might be its still an added bonus. Furthermore the front design of these disks is quite tasteful and displays no huge font brand name right in the middle. There is lots of room to write anything if needed.
