It works.. then what..
Wow! A Cd that plays music, uhh and only music. It is rumoured (but Iconfirm it) If you put a music-only cd into a music-only cd burner thenforce the drive open, put a cheap blank cd in. It doesn't complain, anddoes the job. Buy the Memorex, they're cheap and do the job. Whats all thisabout 'sound quality' Its digital? Get a new cd player. Andscratch-resistant? Just don't use it as a drinks coaster,put-it-back-in-the-box!For people stuck with a music-cd burner forced topay rediculous Cd prices, swap it for a Pc burner.

Sadly these Memorex CD-RW discs are useless
Bought a box of 10 a few months ago, but they refused to work in both of my burners.Could not successfully write an iso image to them nor could I format with Drag-to-Disc.I spoke to Memorex, they sent me replacements in the mail.They still refused to work!!They ended up sending me another box, but this time they sent me Ultra Speed discs, still no luck!! Unbelievable.They finally refunded my money.Stay away from these discs until they get this mess straightened out!

EasyCD Creator and Memorex CD-RW
I've just purchased the CD-RW 1x to 4x multispeed. I tried to use DirectCD to format the disk and it gave me an error. I thought, oh no, I have a bad CD. I restarted my PC and then used XP's erase CD feature which is put out by Roxio which puts out DirectCD. Once the disk was erased I tried DirectCD again but got the same error, something about the CD being bad and I wouldn't be able to read or write off the CD.

I tried NewTech Infosystem's NTI CD/DVD maker, erased the disk again, and used their FileCD program which is a packet writing sofware just like DirectCD. FileCD did the job! I tried then XP's software and it worked too but this software is not packet writing so you can't use the disk like a floppy.

Conclusion: Roxio's DirectCD will not work with Memorex's CD-RWs. Use NTI's FileCD to do the job and although it's not as great as DirectCD 'cause you have to eject the disk and re-insert so other programs can also see the data, it is still the best bet!

Memorex CD-RW Discs
I recently installed Easy CD Creator 6 and attempted to format several brand new Memorex CD-RW discs. All attempts on two different PCs with different burners (both with ECDC6) failed so it had to be either the software or the discs. I tried with a new Sony CD-RW disc and everything (formatting, burning) went smoothly. I am convinced Memorex CD-RW discs are fatally flawed.

Memorex CD-RW JUNK!
I bought 25 from Wal-Mart. Couldn't write to them or nothing. Using a Dell 8250. Taking them back. Best to stick w/CD-R's anyway.

It's not your CDRW drive -- It's these lousy Memorex CDRWs!
I've used Memorex CD-R's for a couple years with no problems, so when I went to purchase CD-RW's, I bought some of these.At first, I burned a few fine, but then later when I went to Erase them, they would not erase or they would become corrupted / undetectable to my Drive.And then sometimes I could not even burn them at all.It got to a point where I just kept pulling them out and trying them, new disc after new disc, and ALL would either have problems burning the 1st or 2nd time, or would not erase.
It puzzled me: my CD-R's still burned great!Why not these CD-RW's?I even contacted the tech support for my drive and they began thinking maybe a laser diode in my drive was bad...

Until I tried different brands of CD-RWs.First a few old Pengo 2x CD-RW I had from about 3 years ago... They were slow, but burned and erased fine.Then a Verbatim CD-RW, and a Fuji CD-RW.Hmm. These worked fine too.

My conclusion?Memorex CD-RW's are crap.Just read a few more reviews.The opinions found all over the 'net are the same:STAY AWAY FROM MEMOREX CD-RW'S. ... Read more

Awful
I bought these, thinking that the CD-Rs would enhance the music, and a 30-pack was a great deal.

Not really...

First, I've had more burn failing than anything else. So, I've had many times when the CD would do only part of a CD I wanted to burn.

Secondly, they have a hard time reading in my truck, and in some other CD-R compatible players.

Thirdly, where is the album track thing, were you right the track, artist, and time. Almost every Music CD-R pack has this.

Finally, and most importantly, they really don't work. They are supposed to boost and enchance the quality of the music (or that is I think they should), and I haven't seen any difference from normal CD-Rs from Maxell, TDK, and Samsung.

Overall, try Maxell, TDK, and Samsung. Those seem to work perfectly fine for me, unless your burner can't handle these brands.

Very poor with stand alone CD recorder
I have a Mazantz 631 professional CD recorder embedded in my A/V system.I purchased a 30 pack of these Merorex "white label" 700MB disks.The first 5 out of the box would not record:OPC error.They cost $0.66 a piece.In this case, you get what you pay for.

Not For Computers
These CDs are are manufactured for stand-alone CD Recorders not for CD "burners" in computers. The stand-alone units will not accept computer discs, but computers will accept both. The CD-R Music (or audio) cost more because they are taxed by the RIAA to compensate artists for piracy. Computer discs do not have that tax, and are therefore cheaper. The quality of the discs differs from brand to brand, and results vary from brand to brand and CD Player to CD Player. I would not buy these CDs for a computer burner, it's not as cost effective as other CDs for computers. I do, however, reccomend the Memorex CD-Rs with the white labels over other brands. These seem to have fewer problems in car CD players and older cd players.

Slow, slow, slow
These are terrible CDRs. It says multi speed, max 40x, but when I burned them on my 20x, it only lets me burn at 12x for no reason, and my burner never has any problem burning CDRs. Then I used another burner at 16x, took almost 8 minutes for a 700mb CD. I mean, this is just not right! The only good thing is burning at such low speed so those CDs are more reliable with no picking problems. Get Imation! It's much better!!

Not much of a difference
I always figured that "music" CD-R's and "data" CD-R's were the same physically, except that companies had to pay royalty fees to recording assocications for sales of music CD-R's. The idea is that people with stand alone burners hooked up to their stereos and not a computer, can't use the excuse of "I also use my CD Writer to store my data files." I agree ... that brands matter, buying a no name brand usually means buying a flimsy, easily scatched or cracked disc.But if I'm just burning a few badly recorded MP3's that I downloaded off the 'net to listen in my car, I don't care much about the length of the disc's life. It's not like I'll want to listen to an old disc of Britney five years from now ( *ahem* not that I would listen to her in the first place).

Works great at 8x on a NEC2500A
I have an NEC burner and these discs work great at 8X. Some people buy them because some Verbatim's carry an MMC003 media code and can burn at 12X. The truth is, Verbatim use to make their own media, but now just rebadges them with thier name and are actually made by varied media manufacturers. In the end, you get varied results when you burn faster than what the media is rated, becuase the media is not always the same, even though it was packaged as Verbatim. If you intend to burn at 8x, then these will be fine for your purposes. But if your intent is to burn these at above 8x, be careful, different burners will get varied and unstable results, becuase you'll never know what you'll end up with.

Great value for CDR Media.
I love KHypermedia CDRs. I burn a lot of CDs to give out to my classes. I have used this brand in my computer CD burner and in my freestanding CD burner and they burn fabulously in either unit. The color also remains on the top of the CD (I've been having problems lately with other brands peeling apart). These are a great brand and this is a good price!
