5-0 out of 5 stars Common sense
here is a review somone put on a few days ago.

    psp.......is ok, June 15, 2005
    A Kid's Review

"gamers who play psp's are probbably going to become game designers and people who play ds well become doctors."

That is the dummest thing I have ever heard. That's all I've got to say, no comment to that except it was just stupid.

4-0 out of 5 stars chand the man
the best system with the best game what more could you ask for.wipeout pure is aweso me because you surf the internet and the graphics are amazing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product
This product is amazing. It definitely is the best handheld on the market. I have only one complaint about it, the placement of the analog nub can make your hand cramp after 15 minutes of playing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great system! Now stop whining you picky people
First off, the psp is the most remarkable gaming device ever. It plays movies,mp3s,and displays photos. To top it off it has ps2 grafics. All of the reviewers that gave this 1 or 2 stars want to make a dumb excuse of why it's bad.Such as:"It's boring".WHAT????????????????????????????????????? Another person said:Nintendo made video games first.Does it matter?THat's like saying Henry Ford made the first mass produced car!!!!!!!!!!!It doesn't matter.Ford isn't the best car company and nintendo isn't the best game company. Now to get on with my review. The system itself is awesome!!!!!!!!It has stereo speakers,a lcd screen,an analoge stick, and in the near future,it will have a web browser!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Personaly,I think people love to complain."Boo Hoo, the case it comes with is too soft."The memory card is too small."MY PSP has a tiny little dead pixel in the corner of the screen. SO WHAT????? That's like saying:why doesn't my car come with free gas?HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!If Sony sold the PSP with no battery or accesories that it would be cheaper than the ds!The only advantage to the ds is that it comes with a free piece of plastic to touch the screen with!So make the right descision and buy this.It beats the ds by a mile.

5-0 out of 5 stars PSP
This is a great item for gamers like me.Also if you like movies and music, then this is a good add-on.However, a portable DVD player and agood MP3 player are the same price as the PSP.I would not reccommend buying this item for the music and movies although they are awesome quality.
I have Spiderman2, XXX, Pirates of the Carribean, Hitch and Daddy Day Care.Soon, I will get The Grudge, Napoleon Dynamite and others which are coming out on this item.At BJ's there DVDs are $12 each so don't be fooled by the $20+ price tags at other websites. They are DVD quality, but I am not spoiled by a plasma screen TV at home, so these movies look even better than a DVD player.Sound is good also. The only complaint that I have with the movies is that in one full charge, you can't watch 2 movies without charging again. However, this is much more portable than a portable DVD player which makes up for the lack of battery life.
The games are near PS2 quality in the graphics department, but their UMD can't hold near as much memory as the PS2 discs. There are no franchises in sports games, but season modes in nearly all sports games. The adventure games or games that involve career modes which are shorter than their PS2 origonals. However, for some reason, Tony Hawk ahs 4 more levels than the PS2 title.Weird.I am impressed with all 6 of my PSP games (THPSU2, NFL Street 2, NBA Street, MVP baseball, Twisted Metal, Wipeout Pure.)Wipeout Pure is probably the best PSP game in my opinion.I also plan to get Midnight Club III, Burnout, Gran Turismo, Madden, Stacked (suposed to be best poker game ever; also coming on PS2 and XBOX) and others when they are released later this year.
I was skeptical about buying a memory stick for PSP but am glad I did.I bought a 256 mb for $50.I am happy because a 128mb MP3 player is $60 and can hold half as much.I can hold 70 songs even though they say only 64 songs. The sound is awesome and battery lasts for nearly 15 hours with the sound on high and the screen off.
Hope I helped. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars smaller and better!
if you dont have a playstation 2 and thought about buying one , so i suggest you buy the smaller one ! yes , there are two types of playstation 2, big one and small one , but the small one is much better! first of all, it's much smaller (75% smaller then the other one )and it's also more portable. it's about the size of a very thin book. you can hold it in one hand! also , another thing is , it has a built in network adaptor to play online game , so you dont have to buy one of those because it's already built in ! so, like i said , if you thought about buying a playstation 2 , buy this kind !

4-0 out of 5 stars Definitely a way to escape from PC gaming
    Okay, first things first:

PC games have better graphics, more special effects, and in some ways are easier to play with a mouse.

However, the cost of keeping a high-end PC is becoming increasingly prohibitive, with new video cards coming out almost every six months, $500 or more for the top end and $250 for the mid-range.Not to mention new processors, the ever required more Ram, and now multiple hard drives since all the motherboard manufacturers are pushing RAID.The result is a very fast PC that costs over $1,000, is current for a year at most, eats up enough electricity to power a small house, and that's before you get to the driver/soundcard issues.

The last PC game I played was Medal of Honor, Pacific Assault, which kept dropping me back to the desktop for no reason. The support message said to kill all the services except the essential ones.Fine, but a great way to muck everything else up.I've never had 5.1 sound cards that produced really good sound like they advertise, and everytime they update the video card drivers something else goes out.

Or I can spend ~$150-$160 on this and snag a television that takes composite input. In may case I got a nifty 14 inch RCA flat screen or under $100.Only accessory is a memory card, and that's it.Just plug it in and go.

My first PS2 game was Medal of Honor, Rising Sun, which actually share parts of some scenes with Pacific Assault. The graphics aren't as good as current PC games, I'd put them about a little better than Deus Ex or No One Lives Forever. The character movements and facial expressions are as good as current PC games.Textures are definitely much more plain, and I don't know if any PS2 games support raytracing and realtime shadows. However, the lighting and smoke effects look better--there's something to be said for standardized hardware.

I'm amazed something the size of a large CD case works as well as it does, and the PS2 has the largest game library of any console. As something to keep going until the PS3 comes out this is great. And from the demos I've seen the PS3 will be as good as or surpass PC games.

The only downside to the PS2 for me is the gamepad is very hard to get used to, especially for precision shooting or navigating.I wish whoever had decided the pad was a good idea would have had the common sense to put a trackball on it, or just gave us a mouse.Anyways, I'm happy wit the PS2 and my billfold isn't going to be as drained as it was playing PC games.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sony PSTwo: The Best Home Video Game System!!!
    Hardware:

The New Sony PS2 (PSTwo) does most of what the old PS2 did.
Just like the old PS2, the new PSTwo plays PS1 games, PS2 games, Music CD's, and DVD movies. However the new PS2 has been "trimmed" down drastically. It weighs nearly half of what the old PS2 weighed. Also the new PStwo has built-in Ethernet and Dial-Up ports so you don't have to buy the Network Adaptor. 2 USB ports are also built into the system (like the old PS2).
The IR receiver is also built into the console for the DVD remote sold seperately.

    Games:

I used to own an Xbox and the games were horrible because the majority of the games are shooters and sports games. However the PS2 does not have that problem. The PS2 has a huge selection of games from RPG's to Simulation to Action Adventure and more. For starters, I recommend the Greatest Hits games. These are usually the best games available for the system, and they're under $20. Here's a list of my favorite games:

    - Gran Turismo 3
    - Kingdom Hearts
    - Final Fantasy X
    - DBZ Budokai 1-3
    - ATV Offroad Fury Series

    Accessories:

The New PSTwo uses most of the accessories the old PS2 used. However here's a list of accessories that are not compatable with the new PSTwo:

    - Old PS2 Multitap (Sony made a new PS2 multitap exclusively for the Slim PStwo.)
    - PS2 HDD (Hard Disk Drive) (SORRY FINAL FANTASY XI FANS.)
    - Playstation Multitap

    Summary:

This is the best home console ever made. However if you like to use the PS2 Hard Drive, get the old PS2. If not, get this one.

2-0 out of 5 stars I was a fan of you
Sony, i was a fan of your ps2. but now for some reason you sold a lot of your great games to microsoft xbox. Maybe you're going out of buisness or something who knows. Sony sold their entire grand theft auto series to xbox, and their max payne series to xbox. So now xbox has grand theft auto, max payne plus halo and halo 2 and half life.

5-0 out of 5 stars kool
ok the slim ps2 is better than the bigger one obviously. The slim one dosent have a slide out thing 2 put the disk in but its not like that really matters.I have nintendo 64,ps1,ps2,
X-box,nintendo DS,psp and soon to come the ps3 and X-box 360.If you cant deside wether to get an X-box or ps2.Get an X-box!
X-box has WAY better graphics. But by now dont because they got new 1's comin out the X-box 360 and the ps3. The ps3 is gonna b
$500 and the 360 is gonna b $300. I would go with the 360 cause its cheaper and the graphics r going to b better.(they r supossed to b lifelike.)And the ps3 they r using a different connection.I mean whats the point if WI-FI is working great whats the point of changing the connection?I know this is supposed to b about the ps2 but i can do what i want.4 those who just skimmed down to the end just relize that all these systems r pretty kool. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Okay
Sure the whole touch screen thing is cool. But Nintendo focused on none important things. Whats the point of having a touch screen when the system has 1 good game? This is like a game with good graphics but sucky gameplay. You can have cool features, but if you don't have good games, then it is a waste. PSP is a lot better.

1-0 out of 5 stars DS SUCKS!
look at the title i know that ds came out before psp but think about it IT IS GAY MAKING A PDA A GAMING SYSTEM i mean creative idea i have a ds and i hate it i dont knw why i bought it i mean sure in the future better games are gonna come out o yea and for those kids eviews maybe your saying a ds is more durable than psp BECAUSE YOU CANT HANDLE a psp your gonna break it psp is way better nintendo is cool and all but psp just kicked ds's ass in this contest.

1-0 out of 5 stars DS Sucks!!! PSP Rocks!!!!
If you buy the nintendo DS like I did, you'll regret it. I returned it and bought myself a PSP. Couldn't be happier now.

2-0 out of 5 stars Hmmmm...
I have both a DS and a PSP and I have to say that the DS isn't as great as all these kids are saying. It has an ok design (clamshell) but its real flaw is that the people who have $150-250 to spend are looking for more mature games.I honestly enjoy Mario 64 DS and Tiger Woods, and I'm not saying that the DS is kiddy, but the games need to lose the cartoony look.So far almost all the games have been mini game type games ( EX. Wario Ware, Pac Pix, Polarium, Feel the Magic, etc.)There is yet to be a complete game, story and all, on the DS.Mario doesn't count as it was released 9 YEARS AGO.Spider-Man 2 looks like a Game Boy Advance game.

Now, if you read the previous paragraph and you still want a DS, get Yoshi's Touch and Go.If you want to know why it might be worth your money to go for for a PSP, read on.

PSP is a great system, a good selection of games for kids ( Ape Escape, Hot Shots Golf, Lumines) and adults ( Twisted Metal: Head On, Tony Hawks Underground 2 Remix, and a lot of sports games) Though movies do look amazing, this Isn't why you buy a portable GAMING SYSTEM, and the music feature is flawed, as the transfer is a pain. So, assuming that this is a game-only system, it still is a great choice. It doesn't break like some of the reviewers have said it does when you drop it, and it comes with the sleeve for a reason. If you use the black sleeve the COMES WITH THE SYSTEM the screen won't scratch. There is a solid selection of games and three more come out on June 27th ( Dead to Rights: Reckoning, Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition, and Coded Arms)All three of these games are more adult oriented as the ratings go from E10 to M for those three.Grand Theft Auto is coming out later this summer, and 90 percent of the psp movies out right now are rated PG-13 to R.Well, you make your decision, but I think that it is better to hear about the two systems from someone who has both and uses both.

5-0 out of 5 stars BUY THE DS NOT THE PSP
The DS is a great system. I bought Mario DS for it,it is really fun. So buy the DS. You won't be sorry!!!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Training Tool
I recently bought the flight sim yoke and rudder pedals from CH Products. I was a bit hesitant because you really never know what you are gonna get online. However, the customer reviews tipped the scale and I decided to buy. The ship time was excellent and I received the items in a timely fashion. I use the yoke and pedals with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 and I LOVE IT! It was very frustrating flying with the keyboard buttons and not realistic flying with a fighter type joystick. The yoke and pedals simulate the flying conditions well and make the simulator very addicting. I am using this simulator to supplement my real flight training. Although not exact, it really helps reinforce previous lessons and allows me to fine tune my skills for free. I have noticed, as well as my instructor, my quick learning curve. GREAT PRODUCT!!! I Highly Recommend It!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great but...
I really like this product. As a licensed pilot, this item gives a more realistic civilian PC flying experience then any joystick can. And for the price, it can't be beat. Sure, there are other yokes costing A LOT more, but unless you want to build a PC simulator you can log real time in, why bother?

My reason for 4 instead of 5 stars? The clamps are awful. They are designed only to fit really thick, flat desks. If your computer desk has a curved front, it's really difficult to get this to stay put.

The feel of the yoke is a little too plasticky. I would like to see slightly smaller yoke with a closer material feel to a real yoke.

This item is a MUST have for anyone who takes their civilian flight simulators ( Micrsoft flight sim, X-plane,Fly!) seriously. It's so much more enjoyable and realistic then using a joystick. Unless you have Airbus simulator add-ons!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Yoke Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was amazed how well this product worked! It's definaly is a part of the aviation family. So are all the other ch products. I love the throtle control. Before I bought this, I used a keyboard and believe me there's a really big differance!
The nice thing about this yoke, is that there really isn't confusion in remembering the buttons, and switches. The hardest thing to remember is which switch is the flaps and wich switch is the landing gear. The trick to remembering is that the landing gear is on the left because landing starts with L and so does left.
I hope you'll buy this yoke and some of the other ch products!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good for the money
    Good yoke for the price

I got this yoke a month ago and I love it.

It is the only simulator yoke that will simulate the realism of a an aircraft's yoke for this price. The functions of the three levers for mixture, throttle and prop. pitch are great to have and the two switches on the main body for the flaps and landing gear (if you configure them like that) are also really nice.

The negative points on this yoke are:
First, the really really really sensitive and hard to move trim wheel,
Second, the non smooth and full of friction yoke,
Third, the inability of the yoke to return to a single neutral position. It just stops wherever it wants.

Having said that, in order to get anything else with the features of this yoke would have cost you much much more.

I am currently flying a piper Cherokee and its counterpart piper warrior in the FS2004 simulator (in which the yoke intergrades seamlessly) and I find the whole thing really helpful.

Its not perfect but its really good for the money.
I have to say though that only a little extra effort from this company would have made this yoke much better.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Yoke
This Yoke is gr8. The clamps are very good, and the realism acquired in flight simulator with this thing is incredible. The price is very low, BUY IT ... Read more

This is so entertaining. This has sooooooo many colors. It is the best ever. If you want to be having fun, buy this, and hurry! P.S. you could miss out on a lot of things.

5-0 out of 5 stars I Love This So Much!
Kids, this is the greatest electronic device worth having. I have a pretty cool one in Surf Blue that I bought with my birthday money back in November two years ago...and I still think this toy is soooo cool! It has over forty games...probably more than one hundred. This is worth every penny you spend...or every eighty dollars. I have the newest game- Mario Party. It works great and the lighting works like a charm! BUY THIS!

5-0 out of 5 stars this thing is outdated, but it's still fun
the GBA SP was a success for nintendo (they rock!!!!) as GBA WAS getting pretty old. this IS A GREAT HANDHELD, but DS IS BETTER. this sysytem plays any GBA, GB, AND GBC games. it also has a light up screen which is great for playing late into the night. so for those of youwho still have a game boy or game boy color, you're missing out on all the fun! and the price is 80 bucks, so go out and buy one NOW!!!!!!!! WELL? WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!?!?!?!?!? GOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGO AAND BUY IT.... NO, I MEAN NOW!!!!!!!!!! NOW WHY ARE YOU STILL READIN THIS?!GO AND BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5-0 out of 5 stars Really Cool!
I love this version,Orange and Green. They have never done that in gaming. The graphics are alot better. The Cartidges are smaller(duh everyone knows that). But I perfer the DS. Finnaly, An actullal GameBoy with lightup screen. The controls are in the right place, fold up. It's just not as fun as other systems. It plays GBA,Game Boy Color and even Game Boy. I have a Red one of these. But the Green/Orange idea is one of the best ideas since the DS came out. It's 20.00$ cheaper so buy one now to enjoy the gameplay.

4-0 out of 5 stars THIS ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars the best hand held game
my son adam enjoyed this hand held game. he rather play the ds than the psp.

5-0 out of 5 stars Double the Screens for Double the Fun
The Nintendo DS is truly a great gaming system. I will rate it in five categories below.

Graphics - This is one of the low points if you are comparing it to the psp, but if you play games like metroid prime hunters, these graphics are truly amazing, but other games are just sticking with the 2d so i'll give this a 4.

    4/5

    Innovativeness (Creativity)

The DS will let you experience gameplay in a way that you never have. Whether it's with the two screens, or the touch screens. It give you a new way to play games.

    5/5

    Games / Software

The games for the DS right now aren't the best, but by the end of the year, we'll will have tons of great games such as Nintendogs, Metroid Prime Hunters, Kirby, Mario and Luigi 2, New Super Mario Bros, 007 Rogue Agent, and Mario kart DS, plus the games that are already out like Wario Ware Touched, and Super Mario 64. You can also play any gameboy advance game you want to play making the game library over 500 games already. A zelda game is sure to come out too, possibly a remake of Ocirana of Time, which is arguably one of the best game ever made, next to Final Fantasy VII. A super smash bros. game might come out too.

    5/5

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT CONSOLE
Between the Nintendo GameCube,XBox and PlayStation 2,PS2 is the best because you can play any PlayStation 1 game(you can`t save them with a PS2 Mem. Card you need a PS1 card) you can play D.V.D.s or C.D.s you have some of the games have OL play(Online)it also has good graphics, good sound abilities and uses the PS1 controller, which is the heaviest but easiest controller to use.XBox was great for graphics, online play and that you could put your own sound tracks in some of the games.GameCube was great because it has smooth graphics, and some excellent games that all could have fun with.
PlayStation 2`s Best Selling game was 2002s Grand Theft Auto:Vice City which i have completed myself a dozen times.
PlayStation 2 has been the best of the 3 consoles and more expensive by £/$ 20-50 but its "generation" is gonna change in 2006 with the Sony PlayStation 3,MicroSoft XBox 360 & Nintendo Revolution making their debut and they will have the SpotLight and the WWE SmackDown! series(PlayStation) will no longer be officialy for PS2 or the Grand Theft Auto games unless they make one at the end of the year plus other gamesand one day PS2,XB&GC will be defunct just like the PlayStation 1,N64 & DreamCast.PS2 Will always be a fun console even though it beginning to crumble in sales and games.
psi heard there will be a The GetaWay 3 coming out on PlayStation 3(is there realy any point apart from that Sony are gunna create it).

5-0 out of 5 stars Works great as a DVD player too!
I'm gonna be completely honest. I bought this more as a DVD player than for the games! Is that weird? But it works to wonderfully, no second thoughts at all. I've had it for almost 3 years now and I love it!I do play a few games on it and have never had any problem with it's performance. It's a great item to so both. Save the $$$ and get this for both your movie and gaming needs!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Greatest Console Ever!
Playstation 2 is the best console in the world - if you don't believe me buy one and see! There are so many extras in the world of Playstation 2 like singstar, eye toy, as well as exculsive PS2 games. And there is already the newer design to the PS2, it's called the Slimline, it's the size of a DVD case, seriously. And what makes it better is that Playstation 3 will be coming out next year!

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this!
The playstation 2 console is a great machine for video games... until the warrenty runs out! After that it breaks down, has disk error and everything else.Save your money and buy the XBOX 360!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT
Really great pedals!!!Make sure you get CH;s yoke.A MUST!The only thing is that the rudder pedals are really sensitive and do not require much moving in FS2004 in the air.Overall: Best of the Best!

5-0 out of 5 stars If you are a serious flight-sim fan, you must have these!
I use this product with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 and have no problem with it. As a licensed pilot, these are possibly the best add-on I have ever bought to make my PC feel more like the real thing.

I don't know about using them for driving sims as a brake and accelerator ( I have a Logitech Wingman FF wheel that I use for that) But for flying sims, these are great.

A must have for any die-hard flight sim fan!

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent but doesn't work in space sims at all
Thier are so many versions of the same CH device that it's hard to review the right one.Thier are actually two versions of these rudder peddals. No rudder peddal on a separate USB port will support space sims. This is for airplanes only.It is a shame it could not be for both as quite a lot of people like both airplanes and space sims. The best way to use this is in MS Flight Sim 04's jet airliners. No other game supports the left AND right toe brake configuration.

5-0 out of 5 stars Realism
If you want realism, you can't get enough from just a joystick. These pedals are not just ordinary pedals. You will be amazed when you use these for flight simulator. They help me make those long banks, and now I can even taxi successfully onto the runway. The brake feature only makes these pedals better. When I first plugged the pedals into my computer, they were installed right away! If you like flight simulator, don't leave an experience like this behind you.

5-0 out of 5 stars CH's Rudder Peddels Work Great!!!
If you like to fly than CH can provide great products for Flight Sim pc games. I was amazed that you could buy these $51.00 cheaper then at any store! CH provides for you great working rudder peddels. You have amazing taxing control on ground and good control in the air. I ordered my Peddles with Free Shipping and as promised, they came 5 days.
The first time I tried them, as said before worked great! I released the barking brakes and moved the throttle forward. I was really bad with the peddles at first but I got the hang of it. They're really easy to slide back and forth and the toe brakes are easy to push.
Now flying is easier and funner!!! ... Read more

    4-0 out of 5 stars A GT4 Requirement....
Just my opinion...if you've been playing GT4 without it, you're going to have re-learn driving it. Steering feel is good, but I do have a few minor complaints. The brake and gas pedals do not have enough resistance -- it feels fake. Also, the shifter and the paddle shifters does not have enough "mechanical-resistance-precision". They are easy to double-click. The paddle shifters are located on the steering wheel, not steering column. You can be fumbling for the shifters during and/or after a turn. Finally, I wish there was a way to adjust the angle of the pedals. They seem way too upright for me making difficult to control gas and brake input (I place towel under mine).

So, in summary, it's not perfect, but there's nothing out there that comes close to it.

5-0 out of 5 stars A nice solid wheel

I'm a wheel newbie, but I liked the looks of this wheel when I saw it in a local retail store. It's very well made and solid, and includes gas/brake pedals and a +/- gearshift as well. The diameter of the wheel is a bit small, but it doesn't really detract from the experience.Besides, I've noticed Indycar wheels are small.

The wheel is a little hard to turn, feels like manual steering. But you get used to it quickly.I'd rather have some resistance instead of just a freely-spinning wheel anyway. The force feedback effects are great. In Grand Turismo 3 when your car is going close to it's limit, you can feel the car lose adhesion to the road and pull left and right irregularly. If you pop over a hill and go airbourne for a second you can realistically feel the wheel lose turning resistance.

Burnout 3 and Grand Turismo 3 are a BLAST with this wheel.

    Here are my tips:

1.You must have a table or similar surface to mount it to.Something flat and around 2 or 3 inches thick and sturdy, I would guess. You cannot hold it in your lap.I've got mine mounted to a wooden chair turned sideways for now, not an ideal setup but still fun nonetheless.
2.Plug it in the top USB port on your PS2, otherwise some games will only want to use it for player 2.I don't think the picture "manual" tells you that.
3.This wheel also works on a Windows PC.Download drivers at http://www.wingmanteam.com/I'm not clear whether force feedback can/will work on a PC but I tried it in Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 with good results.I've heard you can get the 900 degree mode working in a PC but haven't got that far yet.
4.You'll need to plug in the wheel to a standard electric outlet, so plan for that.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Nice
I bought this wheel a couple of months ago.I have to say that I really like it.I don't believe that it made me any better at gran turismo, but it makes a lot of the races more fun.I mostly enjoy using it when I'm confident that I'll win a race. It's also fun when I feel like I want to be "really into" the race.

The force feedback is great. The feel of the wheel is great. The pedals are a little close together and I wish the pedal base was a bit heavier, but no biggie.I tend to hold the base still with my left foot, while using it with my right.I love the fact that the controls are also on the wheel so I don't have to pick up my control pad for certain things.Overall, this has to be the best wheel on the market and great fun for the hardcore gamer.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice wheel with unique multiturn feature
Being a gadget lover, I decided to upgrade my Logitech Formula Force GP wheel to the well-reviewed Driving Force Pro. The bottom line is that the DFP is indeed a big step up, with 900 degree steering support, additional side shifter and better feedback effects. It also feels more rugged, though it is still all plastic.

This wheel is marketed as a Playstation2 accessory, but it does work under Windows, and that is half the reason I bought it. Just install the Logitech drivers and plug it in, no special tricks required. Currently I don't know of any Windows games which support 900 degree steering, but hopefully we'll see some eventually. For now, the DFP is working great for Richard Burns Rally in 200 degree mode. It still provides better feel (and more buttons) than the good old FFGP. It's also great with Gran Turismo 4 and Need for Speed 2: Underground on the PS2, which both support 900 degree steering.

Unfortunately, the DFP still suffers from a mediocre clamping system--not that this is the only wheel to be so afflicted. The clamps don't open quite as wide as I would like either, which made it hard to attach to my desk. As others have recommended, I suggest a using a TV tray.

If you are in the market for your first wheel, this is a very good choice, especially if you want something that works for Windows and the PS2. If you already have a wheel you like, this would only be worth the upgrade if you are a real driving nut.

By the way, this would have been a 5-star review if the DFP had a clutch pedal.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very good.
I had borrowed a Logitech WingMan Formula Force GP from a friend to see if I like it. One week later I was looking for the best. I now have the Logitech Driving Force Pro. It is very nice. It feels better in your hand and all the controls that are on the controllers are there. The gear knob is place close to the wheel so that your hand can easily change the gear with out leaving the wheel. If you don't like that, you have the paddles under the wheel. The foot peddles are nice and the pad grips to the rug very good.

The only thing that I thing should have been done is to place a colour band around the top of the steering wheel. This allows you to check that your wheel is centre when wrapping with the 900 degrees turning during a rally. I sometimes get lost and have to look down to see which way it is pointing.

    VERY VERY GOOD!!

5-0 out of 5 stars this is outdated, but fun!!!!
the GC was the best console from nintendo by far. and i mean THE best! most of the people i know have a GC and if u dont hav one yet, buy it! there are many great game franchises comin out for GC in 2005-2006, like the legend of zelda : the twilight princess, and a NEW GBA is comin out! and theres more, so come and buy one now!!!!!!!! note: i highly recommend anyone to put this on their wish list. period.

5-0 out of 5 stars You are right and wrong 1 star folks
Okay,I agree with you, this system is sort of childish. But the what you call "childish games" are suppose to be fun for adults. Let me give you some examples.

Mario Kart: Double Dash!!: My mom loves this game!

Super Monkey Ball: Fun for all ages (and adults)

There's millions and millions of examples, too much.

Now that I've told you why you are wrong, let me tell why you are right. Okay,I goota admit, there is didly squat of rated M games, and Rated T games are like rated E. Overall, this system is great. I'd reccomend it. If you have have some extra cashola, buy the best system of the year,DS. Make sure to get SM64 DS as well.

P.S X-Box and PS2 sulks,I like Play Station better then the newies.

5-0 out of 5 stars the affordable gamecube
Today I finally purchased a gamecube from a local retailer on sale for just 97$ w/ a free game, Metroid Prime 2(50$ game currently). I figured I then only paid 47$ for the system itself adding in the bundle. (I really wanted the metroid 2 echoes game too) I chose the metallic "platinum" color over the ugly plain jane black one. For me nintendo has far too many kiddie games and just a couple I'd be interested in, but my wife and kid like all the kiddie stuff and I already own an XBOX & PS2 that have more games for the teen/adult gamer. The 3 systems will entertain our family until the hype ends over the upcoming "next-gen" systems (Revolution, 360, & PS3)and they have price drops into 100-150$ each and have 20$ games available as well. If you get a gamecube I'd suggest adding the 1019 memory card for it(30$) and also an S-Video cable from monster cable. I really like the compact size of the gamecube, but I don't really care for the akward styling of it's controller very much, the N64's controller was pretty weird too w/ it's "3rd leg". It's also nice to see nintendo finally using discs instead of old-school cartridges. I was considering a Nintendo DS, but I couldn't justify spending more for a portable system w/ less powerful graphics than a highly rated home console like the gamecube. Maybe the DS will have a price drop down to what the advantage costs now(80$). The PSP is way too overpriced for me to even consider it and it's weak battery life and fragile LCD are major drawbacks to me. Anyways I'm happy w/ my decision, the gamecube is a quality system and you can get a system and games cheap now.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best system
This is the best system currently out. It has all the classics and is more fun than the other systems.

5-0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended.
Any fan of the Nintendo 64 needs this console to add more depth and knowlegde to their already large collection of games. I highly recommended a Gamecube for any fan. And soon the Gamecube Revolution will be released making another ultimate console due out in the future. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
We can't compare this stick to Thrustmaster really because their stuff now is garbage.Thrustmaster pretty much forced Suncom (maker of the fab F-15 series) out of business with lawsuits claiming the newcomer was infringing on their patents to produce "realistic" flight sticks. Then we now have a monopoly on the supposedly authentic stuff which has produced crap like The Cougar. Thanks Thrustmaster! Then there's CH Products...good, smooth, but ugly, expensive, and low resistence.Saitek has been making these strange looking, possibly gimmick-rich products for a while.I think they've finally created a near ultimate HOTAS with the X52.

Clearly if you don't like twist rudders on the stick (as the real Comanche has) then you need to buy some pedals (everyone raves about CH's).But the throttle alone on this Saitek is worth the price.X-Plane and Longbow Anthology (when it works, which is rarely...might have to partition Win '95 spot for it) love this system.Every trim control and slider is recognized in X-Plane.In Longbow 1/2 I have most of the flight and cockpit commands in just one main mode and its pinkie mode.I'll save another mode and its pinkie equivolent for campaign comm stuff. That still leaves two more modes on this thing.Amazing.It's a bit of a headache programming it, but not from the standpoint of design. There's so much you can do with it that it's easy to get overwhelmed with where to put what command. Then you realize you could put such and such on a pinkie shift mode and move it over to the next button, yadda yadda yadda. It'll take hours unless you sit down and plan out your programming strategy ahead of time. But it pays off.Oh, and the mouse stick on the throttle works fine.I'm using it right now to surf the net since my Viewsonic optical was DOA (with no warranty, instructions, 800-number...unbelievable).I don't want to take my hands off the controls to retract flaps and gear after just taking off in an F-4...it's the easiest moment to stall.

My first gripe is that the twist rudder is a little weak on the spring to the right, but I set a significant deadspot in the control panel configuration to prevent me from accidentally yawing when I don't want to.Also, I haven't managed to get the toggles or the fire button to recognize pinkie shifts. For instance, I wanted engine offs and weapons jetison to be toggles+pinkie, with the fire+pinkie as master arm.It doesn't work with that, in Longbow Anthology, at least. But I need the keyboard nearby for a variety of other commands anyway, so it's not a big deal.I leave master arm on, I just wanted the neat effect of switching to it on the fly. There's nothing quite like having laser designator on a stick button to trigger one or two seconds before a hellfire impact, though. The lower hat on the stick does tend to get flipped occasionaly, but I put all my target next/previous/best/close on it.That makes it less of an issue.

The stick is adjustable to your handsize (my first adjustment that seemed perfect actually was too cramped) and it feels well built.I completely discount any complaints that the stick is too easy to tip over or has too much range of motion. If you're not strapping, taping, tying or otherwise attaching them to something, then you're an idiot. You should do that with any HOTAS.Even with my old Playstation I had the Flight Force Pro throttle and stick tied to the flat arms of a wooden deck chair with wrapping present ribbon/string.Couch throw pillows, queen size pillow, and standard pillow made great cushions. You can get a whole flight seat set up with just stuff around the house or from the local department store.Friends would freak out seeing me with Gunship 2000, Ace Combat 2, Colony Wars, and Star Fighter with that setup.Like I said, if you don't do twist rudders, buy pedals. If you don't like the stick, buy a CH one.The throttle is probably the best out there.I like the Saitek how it is and for the price you're getting stick and rudder for free when the only thing left on the market anymore that can compete with this is CH at $100 per item.I'm thrilled with my purchase.

    2-0 out of 5 stars x45 > x52
I've owned the x45 HOTAS for almost a year since I decided to finally try the x52.Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the x45, I just got a little curious about the x45's older brother.

Here are my observations comparing the two HOTAS: x45 vs. x52

    * x45 - Buttons/Hats were a little hard to reach with smaller hands on the stick, but I actually prefer the rocker switch for rudder control located on the throttle.I only wish it was designed better and more ergonomically. It felt weird for me to pull on the stick on the x52 and have to rotate the it for rudder control as more often than not I find myself rotating the stick inadvertently.Stability sucks while playing games, it's just not heavy/stable enough to keep from tipping often.SOLUTION: I've fabricated a bracket out of wood and steel to solve this.Solid as a rock on my chair or desk!Heavy as a rock though... =0(

    * x52 - Buttons/Hats are easier to reach on the stick, but having the rudder twist on the stick is a drawback for me.I'd rather use the rocker on the throttle or rudder pedals.More available modes are nice, but I've honestly never run out of buttons on the x45.Stability sucks while playing games, it's just not heavy/stable enough to keep from tipping over.Fabricating a bracket to mount on would solve this. The x52 just feels much bigger than the x45.It's a little uncomfortable moving the stick around because of its size, but the huge deadzone in the stick seems to be the biggest drawback for me.Can't seem to solve it with software either...

Unfortunately, I will be returning the x52 after only a few weeks of use and going back to my trusty x45.It looks cooler than the x45, feels better, but functionality has not been improved for me.Biggest drawbacks of the x52 are as follows (in order of importance):

    1) Huge deadzone that can't be compromised with software. My x45 doesn't exhibit this flaw.
    2) Rudder twist on the stick rather than a rocker switch.I would have preferred that they improved upon the x45's rocker switch on the throttle on the x52.
    3) The HOTAS just "seems" much bigger when I'm playing. It's a little uncomfortable how tall the stick is and how much I have to throw it around for fast game playing.

Anyways, my $0.02.Have fun with whatever HOTAS you end up going with.I happen to love the fact that I paid $64.98 for my x45 on amazon, less than half what I paid for the x52.In my case, the x45 is simply a much better buy for what I got.But whatever the case, go test drive first.See what works for you!Just make sure you can return either for a refund.

4-0 out of 5 stars shortages
I LIKE THE FEATURES ON THE X52. HOWEVER I FIND IT DIFFICULT TO USE THE TWIST RUDDER AND COMBINATIONS OF BUTTONS NEEDED TO KEEP INFORMATION OR A TARGET IN VIEW. THE GRIP ALSO FORCES ME TO MAKE A LOT OF LEFT TURNS BECAUSE WRISTS DO NOT BEND BACK AS EASILY AS THEY TURN IN. IN SHORT THIS WOULD BE A GREAT JOYSTICK WITH THE ADDITION OF A RUDDER ROCKER OPTION OR REPLACE THE TWIST GRIP. I HAVE AN X 52 BUT HAVE GONE BACK TO AN X45.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great idea, bad implementation
To be honest, I really like my x52 and plan to keep using it.However it could be so much better because of a few problems.

Problem #1, can't recalibrate. You'ld think some program that came with the 52 would be able to recalibrate the joystick, but no, it requires editing registry settings in regedit.Fine for a guy that knows computers but a bit advanced for others.

Problem #2, a lot of people are experiancing a huge dead-zone that is apparantly a hardware, not a software issue. Please read the forums at saitek for this issue at
    saitekforum.com/showthread.php?t=6176

Problem #3, the mouse wheel does not work.See this thread at the saitek forums for more info.
    saitekforum.com/showthread.php?t=6264

Possible problem #1, the stick is HUGE, and this size gets some getting used to.It feels like you have to throw the stick back and forth because it is so tall

Possible problem #2, the response curve for the joystick is different than for other joysticks.I've heard that the curve is linear instead of logarithmic.I don't know if this is true, but you have to adjust your in-game settings in order to get this stick to feel like others (In Pacific-Fighters, which is what I play, this means sliding all the sliders for the joystick responses way up).Furthermore, there is no Saitek utility to edit this response curve, if there isn't an in-game joystick response option page in your favorite game, you're stuck with what you're given here.

There are other problems posted by users at the Saitek forums, but I have not experianced them personally. My recomendation is to read through the forums and see if you can handle the risk involved in getting the stick.

My subjective conclusion: great idea and design, but it lacks quality assurance.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best joystick I have ever owned
The last joystick I have own was the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.That thing seems like nothing compared to this. The picture you see at Amazon makes it seem like it is very small, but it is a pretty good size.
I don't know what this jotsick could be without the throttle. It brings out the full effect of the X52.The stick is what makes it thought. It takes awhile to get used to because it is so easy to turn. When I saw all the the fire buttons and everything on this I said to myself "Man, I need Combat Flight Simulator for this thing".
There is a button on the throttle that acts like your mouse. When you are in the middle of a flight of you can use that button on your throttle, instead of taking your hand of of the joystick to use it.I thought it was a really handy feature. I can't even start to name everything you can do with this.
The way it looks really boosts the rating. When I plugged it in the my 2.0 USB port, and I looked at it, basically everything was glowing blue.It was the coolest thing I have ever seen!It might seem funny for me being a pilot getting a joystick because it looks cool, but you have to give it some credit for that.
I was at Best Buy one day and I saw the X45.I pulled the throttle back on it, and it wouldnt stay in place.I went to Saitek's website and I noticed that they had a different model, the X52.I saw the features and I saw that this one had suction cups!So none of you have to worry about the problem the X45 had.
I hope my review was helpful and I would highly recommend this product, "Saitek X52"

5-0 out of 5 stars Awsome
I have had this keyboard for about 6 months now.I love it.If you play alot of games, this keyboard is great.I recomend it to those that seem to forget what keys are for what on games..as I do.

    3-0 out of 5 stars It's Alright...
Not bad for the neatness factor.I have an occiasional problem with one of the split space bar buttons not working sometimes. It requires a computer restart to correct (sometimes more than once). My biggest gripe though, is that the print on the keys wears off with extended use. This totally negates the cool look of the Zboard keys sets when you have ghetto-looking half letters on your often used keys (A, S, W, D, X, C, and L-Shift for me).

Had I known about the print wearing off I wouldn't have bought it, but some people may not mind.Or maybe they just don't play as much as I do :)

2-0 out of 5 stars Great concept, but Quirky
I LOVED the IDEA of this keyboard, and being able to switch keysets, cause in addition to gaming on my computer, I also do video editing in PREMIERE and AFTER EFFECTS, and also work in Photoshop. I loved the Photoshop keyset and the gaming keysets- HOWEVER- the actual hardware had ISSSUUUUEEES!!!!Like for example I'd be working away and all of the sudden a key I HADNT PUSHED would be going ENDLESSLY and in order to make it stop I had to remove the whole Keyset!!This started happening more and more frequently and cost me alot of time and effort when I had projects ruined or crashed by this keyboard.I contacted the manufacturer, got no response- downloaded the latest drivers and all that junk- but it never got any better- in fact it got worse! Finally I removed the whole thing and went back to my old keyboard- not nearly as fun, but it WORKS RIGHT!

1-0 out of 5 stars No Warranty or Customer Support
I purchased an WoW addon and worked for about two weeks. It then completely crapped out. My PC's keyboard becomes non-functional as soon as the WoW keyset is inserted. Support does not publish a telephone and is accessible via the web only. They have completely ignored repeated requests for assistance. They have not even responded with an acknowledgment to my requests. I would not recommend a Ideazon product to anyone. If it ever breaks, you are simply screwed.

5-0 out of 5 stars These are truly the best gamepads for the PC, >EVER<

I was very skeptical about these at first. They looked cheap and I was not sure how long it was going to last. Let me tell you, they are great!

I purchased two of them to play the new Lego Star Wars with my son and I am utterly blown-away as to how much more relaxed we are when we play. No more cords!!!! Its been over 9+ weeks of use at nearly every day and neither sets of batteries has died yet, and thats using the cheap-O's included with the pads!

I did get hung-up trying to configure them at first. PLease understand that their software works great and you need it for the rumble effect, *HOWEVER* the software was designed with the assumption that you only have ONE gamepad. It is next to impossible to configure two gamepads using their software. I finally figured it out by uninstalling their software and simply letting Windows XP discover the devices and going to the game(s) and configuring the pads there. Most games allow you to do this by simply changing the keyboard layout from a certain set of keys to whatever you input. So if a game is set to use "W" as its up key, simply press enter and the game waits for you to press any key that will represent the new layout. So go to your gamepad and press the UP stick. Windows will auto-populate the field with the proper settings. Very nice!

I highly recommend this device. Its VERY durable and cleans well (sticky fingers) not to mention it is GREAT to play a two player game from over 10 feet away in bean-bags as opposed to stiff chairs bound by cords! Buy this product now!

5-0 out of 5 stars Console gamers... Go PC!
This controller makes it just like Playstation. The buttons can be worked exactly the same.Dual joysticks.Rumble feature. No cords. It's awesome - seriously.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best gamepad around
I'm not generally a fan of wireless controller, for one simple reason.I don't need the wireless feature, and I'd prefer to not think about batteries. However, I was not about to pass up the $20 after rebates price on this pad.

This button arrangement of this pad perfectly fits Madden 2005, enhancing gameplay immensely over other pads that may require you to remember what button correspond to what in the manual. (Madden 2005 allows you to configure your gamepad, but the configuration does not work for all phases of the game, e.g., the snap, and the receivers may be labelled differently than set up in Madden 2005's button configuration utility.)

True, the gamepad lacks Force-Feedback in Madden 2005 - so does every other game controller.MADDEN 2005 PC DOES NOT SUPPORT FORCE-FEEDBACK FOR ANY GAMEPAD, PERIOD.That's EASport's fault, not Logitech's.

For the person with the calibration problems after replacing batteries, try unplugging the receiver unit from the USB port and plugging it back in.

If you want to play Madden 2005, and have no intention of playing games with Force-Feedback, but by the non-Forceback version of this gamepad, unless you get a deal.Similarly, unless you get a deal on this gamepad, or you really want or need wireless, get the wired version of this gamepad.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cordless freedom!!!... Outstanding
I had this unit for about a month, used it to play Half Life, and Need for Speed 2 Underground. Outstanding performance in both cases. I'm running a dell p4 2.GHz 512mb WinXP Pro SP2. Easy installation, no problems of any kind so far. The original batteries are still going strong. Hope this review is helpful.

    5-0 out of 5 stars Can't believe it doesn't have a cord
Although this is a new purchase, and I've only used it for just over a month, it is the single best game controller I've had for my PC. I have several other Logitech devices in use on the 2 PC's in my home, and both have been performing flawlessly for over 2 years. This game controller was a stretch for me, I've never had much faith in cordless hardware. This unit may as well have a cord attached to it, it responds better than the Gravis controllers I've had (5), and the action on the joysticks is profoundly accurate. Durability is still in question, since I've only put 30 hours on this unit. My PC is a Dell Dimension 8200, running XP Home edition with service pack 2 already installed (CD version, minimal install). The games I play are Mechwarrior 4 and expansions, NASCAR games. The driving games have been hard to get used to, the controller responds so quickly that I'm not used to that amount of precision. For the price you pay, you can't go wrong. Especially if you're familiar with the Sony Playstation controller.

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding accessory for PS1 or PS2
A comfortable and light controller with long battery life and complete functionality w/ both PS1 and PS2 machines. There is no substitute for the Logitch Wireless.I purchased three other brands that were cheaper, and returned all of them.If you own or have used Nintendo's Wavebird (Also an excellent product) this is the Sony equivalent.Well worth the steep price.

5-0 out of 5 stars This controller OWNS!
This controller OWNS all others! Corded or wireless this controller gives them the beat down, including the stock Sony controllers. GET IT NOW & PLAY!

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect Cordless controller
I've had this for almost a year now and I don't use any other controller but this.
Battery lasts so long - even though I let it sit there for long time and every time I come back to play, it's still good. Definitately it lasts 50+ hours easily.
This is definitely built to last. My 18month old daughter has dropped this controller number of times and it still functions 100%.
There seem to be little lag, but I can't ask for more on this great cordless controller.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the best PS2 controller available.
I am huge believer in 1st party peripherals for consoles, I find them invariably higher quality and more compatible with other hardware. That said; this wireless Logitech controller is by far the best controller available for the PS2.

    Quality ****1/2 (4.5)

The controller feels great in your hands, the materials seem to be of the greatest quality. I have owned this controller for 6 months and I think that it actually feels better today than it did when I first bought it. My only gripe, and the reason for the 4.5 rating is that the D pad seems somewhat flimsy and doesn't have the solid feel of the Official Sony Dual Shock PS2 controller.

    Battery Life ***** (5.0)

Incredible, this controller takes 2 AA batteries and they last a long, long time, in fact I have logged over 100 hours in a game (without rumble feature) and the batteries are still going strong. This is in addition to about 25 hours in GT4 with the rumble feature turned on.
The manual states that the battery life is 50 hours with the rumble feature on, I think that for the first time in history, a manufacturer has low-balled the battery life of a product.

Overall, this product is a more than capable replacement for your PS2's Dual Shock controller, and it's wireless! I absolutely love the clutter that this wireless controller eliminates, and I now have great respect for Logitech products. This is THE ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE accessory for your PS2.

3-0 out of 5 stars Almost perfect!!
This is a great control, the batteries last long (I think even more than 50 hours without vibration) and it works almost perfect. I would have given a 5 star if the X bottom didn't stay pressed down (sometimes) when I am playing. Maybe is the logitech design that the X bottom doesn't work always right. The orignal ps2 control, in the right, the bottoms( square, triangle, circle and x) are on a flat surface and that's why it works great. But this logitech design, the surface is not flat that's why the bottoms don't work as good as the original ps2 control. They should design a better control, but with flat surface for the bottoms to make it as functional as the original ps2 control. ... Read more

Yes!After 3 years of them postponing this game it is out in a month and a half! After Microsoft bought out RareWare it was their top priority and now it is out!Sorry PS2 owners, but unfortionately for you, there will be no Live and Reloaded for you, because it is produced by MICROSOFT.However, you CAN play it if you want... well you can play the Nintendo 64 version.AHAHAHAHA!The demo kicks ass, but i hate the people who are calling it a WWII game, just because the demo level is the Saving Private Ryan level.Get a life and play the original before you make any assumptions.Awesome game and it will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Is it on PS2?
I hope it's on PS2 as well. I loved BFD one and this looks even better. It just goes to show you a simple CD can create so much hope.Who couldn't like this game? 4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Darn Good Wheel for the Price
Unless you're a professional racecar driver looking to recreate your real world experience this wheel should satisfy you.Yes it would be nice if it were made of leather and steel, but if that's the level of realism you want I don't see how you'll ever be satisfied unless you complete the effect with a steel chassis around your computer and an open can of gas nearby for the authentic road smell.Seriously, it's nice and solid, with the nice tacky feel of good quality rubber. The wheel does producea light grinding sound from the gears, but unless you're extremely neurotic you won't notice it above the roar of the engines.I've only had mine for a few days so I'll report back on the long-term quality in a few months, though it seems right solid, I suppose it's possible that a hyperactive kid who didn't pay for it himself could abuse it to the point of failure in a few months. My biggest disappointment so far has been that the force feedback doesn't rattle and shake as much as I thought it would, then again this could be due to the game I'm using it with, Toca Race Driver 2.If you're serious about your driving games you need a wheel and pedals, absolutely, and this is a solid choice! If, on the other hand, you're serious about driving itself, just stick to the gas guzzler in the garage.Given the problem of global warming and pollution though, I say pass the sunblock and make mine digital!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excelllent product
Excellent product arrived today been using it all day long testing it with different games easy installalion love the leather on the wheel itself and picked up nascar sim racing 2005 to go with it awesome exsperience and a great product

3-0 out of 5 stars Cheap Imitation
Short version: This wheel is a cheap plastic imitation of its higher quality forbears. It works, but it doesn't give anywhere near the realistic driving experience the previous models gave.

    Long version:

My friend bought the original, red Logitech Wingman Formula Force (...) a couple years back.I borrowed it recently to play with NASCAR Racing 2003 and loved it.The experience was quite realistic. So I thought to get my own.

First I bought the standard Logitech Wingman Formula Force GP (...), because it didn't seem the MOMO version was much different (...), and I didn't want to bother with the rebate.I thought the cheaper price reflected savings in production efficiencies. The GP wheel was shockingly different, in a bad way.The original red Wingman Formula Force has some kind of ball bearing, spring and damper system that lets the wheel turn freely, but give varying amounts of force feedback depending on the game. The original red wheel lets you feel when the wheel gets "loose", and you're about to lose traction. The new, cheaper GP version has a horrible plastic, notchy feeling, as one other review commented - as you turn the wheel it grinds.Turning seems to be a matter of grinding each gear tooth which corresponds to a bit in the control axis. The GP is not at all like a real steering wheel, when the original red wheel was a passable facsimile. The force feedback on the GP is a joke. It's like seeing a downsampled, low resolution, 8-bit version of what used to be a high resolution, 24-bit image.

So I returned the standard, cheaper (...) GP wheel to Amazon and bought this MOMO wheel hoping that the extra dough gets you that special "real" feeling.Unfortunately, the MOMO still fails. This (...) MOMO version is better than the standard GP version, but there's still a plastic notchy gear feeling to the wheel. The notches are finer, and the force feedback effects have a higher sample rate, but it's still the same fundamental cheap plastic gear feeling.

It seems that the wheel I actually wanted was the ORIGINAL, now discontinued, Logitech MOMO Force wheel with the authentic leather, steel pedals and whatnot. It probably wasn't cheap, but you get what you pay for.About.com reviewed the original MOMO wheel and commented: "One of the best features of this force feedback wheel is that there is no "notchy-ness" in the steering wheel. In other force feedback wheels you could feel the gears in the wheel which would prevent you from making smooth adjustments. This wheel solves that problem, it's very smooth."
    (...)
I wish I had read that review before I bought this new, plastic version. It's surprising though that nobody had commented in a comparative review about how the steering feel has been compromised.About.com wrote: "The Logitech Momo Racing (black) wheel is a revamped version their legendary Momo Force (red) wheel. They replaced some of the expensive metal parts with plastic and even made some improvements along the way such as increasing the pedal throw and adding a manual stick shifter. The result is a wheel that is even better than the original."(...)

I beg to differ.Maybe the About.com reviewer got a different version of the MOMO wheel, because I'm surprised he didn't comment on the lack of ball-bearing feel to the new wheel. This plastic, notchy feeling to the steering in both the current GP and MOMO versions destroys the suspension of disbelief. The few reviews that said anything about the plasticky-ness, expressing disappointment, were given poor feedback. Why?Do people only want to read glowing reviews of products, regardless of the accuracy of the review?

The only thing positive to say about the newer wheels versus the original red wheel is that the pedals are bottom hinged, and easier to modulate. The new wheels are also cheaper in price. But as I've explained, the new plastic wheels are also cheaper in the quality of experience they provide. You get what you pay for.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great wheel, minor issues
The wheel's FF and feel and overall quality are very good. It is extremely useful to have the option of paddle or stick shifter.I use my paddles to shift and the pull back on the shifter as the handbrake and push forward is clutch.I have also had the stick as shift and paddles as clutch and ebrake.Pedals and wheel are both very precise.

Of course, as with most people, I am having occasional trouble with the pedals.Mainly the brake 'sticking' on. This started after about 6months of heavy use and now at a year hasn't gotten much worse.Usually unplugging the pedals from the wheel and plugging it back in will fix the problem. We'll see if that will keep working.

2-0 out of 5 stars AGAIN its BROKEN
this is the second time i will have had to have my wheel replaced in 6 months
first it was the left paddle shift & now it will not center correctly......
the build of this wheel is SHOCKING
Logitech do you build anything with quality anymore...
+ it took me 6 weeks to get a replacement last time
by the time you replace this one my warranty will almost be up & i will be asking for a fresh warranty to cover my wheel.
i just do not trust it will last out a year.... ... Read more

In a racing game, drivers might see their own vehicle's perspective on one screen and an overall track view on the other. In a role-playing game, the action could take place on the first screen while the second provides a reference for a player's tools inventory. Game play also could use both screens at once, offer
    • Touch ScreenThe lower screen will offer something never before provided by any game device: PDA-like touch capabilities. Players no longer have to rely on just buttons to move characters org effects and cel shading.
    • SoundThe 16-channel sound allows for greatly expanded use of voices and music, and a richer, more immersive game experience. A plug for headphones transmits stereo sound.
    • Battery & Power ManagementThe battery is rechargeable and the unit features a low-energy-consumption design. The DS also has Power Management functions of Sleep mode and Standby mode. In Sleep mode, players can stop and resume game play whenever they like. If the user receives a message from a friend or user nearby, DS activates itself from Standby mode.

    5/5

    Online Capabilities

Nintendo is going to have a free wirless service for the end of 2005. The first game to use it will be Mario Kart DS. This means you could live in St. Louis Missouri, and race against somebody in Orlando, Florida with out hooking any thing up, but for those that aren't in bigger cities, they can just hook there ds up to a modem. And all of this will be free, according to the Magazine Nintendo Power.

    5/5

    Extra Features

The Ds has so many extra features. These include the two screens, the touch screen, gameboy advance capabilities, it will hook up with the nintendo revolution wirlessly, clock and alarm, calendar, personalizations, pictochat, and the whole new online system.

Overall 4.8, rounds up to 5 Stars

    Great System

5-0 out of 5 stars My fairest review
First of all I do not work for nintendo. I am a Nintendo DS owner in fact i am stopping every few seconds to play.... By the way lemme start with the obvious It is the first system to have two screens that I know of it has 9 buttons 10 if you count the POWER button but as you undoubtably know the lower screen is a touch screen but you should only use the wrist strap and stylus on it. But I might as well get the cons over with.

    Cons
-Not compatible with GBA multiplayer feature
-you can't play GB or GBC games on it
-at first it's hard to watch both screens at once but if you have a wide range of vision it should be easy to get used to it

Ok it's time for the pros.

    Pros
-Most games on it are 3-D not the grainy 2-D
    -it hastouch screen
    -the games are fun
-it's much better than the PSP GRRR!!!
    -It's made by Nintendo

If you are planning on getting a Hand Held system Get the NDS (Nintendo Duel Screens) It's the best!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Must Have
As I said in the title, this is a must have device. The Nintendo Ds is trying something new, and Nintendo hit the bull's eye. While some issues occur (Gb/Gbc games not fitting/playing, having to shut off system after pictochat, ect.) SOme things just go over those problems, like the touch screen, pictochat, the ability to play GBA games and some Flash Cards for GBA, some of the issues don't seem so bad. It comes with a demo of "Metroid Hunters" with 3 modes (Training, Free For All, Ball(NOTE: These may not be the right names)) ALso, Hunters Demo come with 3 full DeathMatch arenas. So this is an obious must-but system.

5-0 out of 5 stars DS!? Must Have!
For all of you Sony fans you review the DS and say that it sucks and it's stupid and all of that jazz, I would just like to say: YOU KNOW NOTHING FOOOOOOOOLISH WORM MONKEYS!
Any way, moving on, let's look at this awesome device. Let's start with the touch screen. This is an awesome addition to the video game system of the future. This gives the DS a cool and interesting gameplay. Okay, next is the price. For a system with a completely new gameplay this is pretty dang cheap! Finally, the games. I have at least seven games already and they all are great. Warioware, Mr.Driller, Rayman you name it, it rocks.
Plus, Mr. Iwata is generous enough to be setting up a worldwide wi-fi system where players from around the world can connect.
So, please, all of you gamers out there, trust the best in the business. Oh, I almost forgot! I'm thirteen! So all of you guys who are reading this and saying "Oh, it's just a kid. Kids know nothing" SILENCE! DS ROCKS! END OF DISSCUSSION!

    5-0 out of 5 stars Nintendo =Videogames
Hi!!! c'mon lets face it, when you say Nintendo you inmidatley think of videogames no matter what.People say Nintendo refering to a videogame machine, and you know why???because it was Nintendo who first introduce videogames to the world. They are always having fresh ideas, they dont need to prove anything to anyone they know who they are and they know also who the king of portable gaming is. Whith the Nintendo DS they change the way we used to see videogames, whith the dual screen,microphone,touch-screen, the posibility to play GBA games, and Pictochat!!! simply look no further than Nintendo DS. Other companies like Sony or Microsoft have potencial but no one has that great games Nintendo have. Tell me if i am wrong but if you look who made and continue making the games that are considered the best of the best is Nintendo. No othet company have those solid franchises Nintendo have
period. So to end, I say to everyone that reads this review: Dont forget who the creator is ... Read more
