5-0 out of 5 stars Power card...
This card was not built nor meant to be sold to the "casual" computer user...this is a monster card. Graphically, when paired with a comprable processor this is hard to stop. It runs Doom 3, Half Life 2, Swat 4, any intense graphic game I've thrown at it. You can run at high resolutions or low. This card adds the built in TV tuner to the already outstanding power package, where you can connect a cable wire and WATCH tv on your screen! Priceless if you ask me. For the price you are getting a LOT of technology. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The best video card I have ever had.
This video card is the best thing ever, it never misses a step on any of the new age games. Everything is so clear and detailed, you should definately get this card. The only strange thing is Amazon.com changed the price it was $385.99 and now it's $407.99, I find that kind of strange, but I'm sure they have their reasons.Still an awsome card.

5-0 out of 5 stars Review the right product
I opened this box and found it out that it was a 6800GT card.It was not a 4200 card...seriously, would the previous reviewer please remove his review as it has NOTHING to do with this product?

On another note, this card is AWESOME and is worth every 38,599 pennies.

5-0 out of 5 stars I got this sweet card and it ROCKS!!!
this is the biggest breakthough in games that I had. It's even greater than the change it made when I swapped a Trident 1MB PCI card to a 3dfx voodoo 3 3300 ten years ago. all games' performance fly around, and frame-rates are really high. opposed to earlier geForce versions, this one has great IQ (Anisotropic F. rocks!!!) do you wanna play troble-free, get this card. you won't regret it. this is simply gr8!!! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars great hardware for a great price
I think that Jonathan E. Adair review is a little misleading. There is only one RF input for TV and one RF input for FM radio.. the misleading part is that this card is a dual TV tuner. The tv is split internally to the two dual tv tuners on board. This is very similar to a television with picture in picture, no PIP TV requires that you split the cable prior to entering the teleision, all of that is done internally.

if they made this card with two rf inputs for TV there wouldn't be enough room for the FM input, on the pci slot.

Anyway, this is a great piece of hardware, now at a great price.

5-0 out of 5 stars A little misleading
The marketing on this card is a little misleading. The card has two tuners, but only one cable TV input.(The second 'F' connector you see is for the FM radio antenna).

If all you want to do is take one analog cable TV line to this card and record/watch two different analog channels, this card can do that out of the box.

But if you want to feed two different set-top boxes to this card, it can't do that out of the box. There is an add-on composite/svideo connector that should let you feed two different signals to the card and make that work but you'll still have to sort out the remote control of those two cable boxes. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Cheap, but poor picture quality
This card works nicely; Hauppage cards tend to play well with others. However, the anti-aliasing of this card is poor, poor, poor. See http://techreport.com/reviews/2005q2/tuner-comparo/index.x?pg=10

Most of the people here that say that the card has good picture quality have probably never tried another card. If you want good picture quality, go with another tuner.

4-0 out of 5 stars Working now after some headaches
I encountered the same problem as another user where my cpu usage would remain at 100%. Going into a little bit more detail about this problem...

    WinXP
    athlon xp 2100 ~@2 ghz
    abit nf7-s
    512mb ram etc.etc.

As soon as I booted my computer after installing the card into a free pci slot cpu usage was at 100%. I was unable to even install the drivers for the card. I tried switching to other open pci slots with the same results (XP would recognize the new device unlike the other users situation). Finally I just removed the card completely to see if there were drivers I needed to update. NOW the cpu usage was STILL AT 100%!!! booted into safe mode a few times and it was running properly. went into msconfig and started booting in selective startup mode. 1st with system.ini, then win.ini, and finally system services where I encountered the same problem. I narrowed it down to my antivirus program (Trend PC). Uninstalled the program and went ahead with the 150mce install. After installing all the software I reinstalled the antivirus and things seem to be normal.

The only other problem I encountered that remains unsolved is that sagetv does not recognize the card at all. I tried beyondtv demo and it picked it up but sagetv did not. Tried reinstalling many drivers and programs with no luck.

Overall I am pretty happy for the price

5-0 out of 5 stars Great card, but can cause some conflicts!!
I was so exited when this was finally in stock and delivered.I installed it right away, but after the drivers were installed my CPU usage would shoot to 100%.(I have a new Dell 8400, with P4 3.0, 2.0GB DDR ram, blah, blah, a GREAT PC).Anyway, I unistalled, reinstalled, changed PCI slots, nothing!!! MCE would not recognize the card was there.

To make a long story short, I finally reformatted (since I had only recently purchased the PC and was not losing much).I installed the card right away and worked GREAT!!~!I then began installing my software, 1 by 1 making sure they did not interfere with the TV tuner.

When I got to my Dazzle DVC II capture device drivers, BOOM!! same thing happened, unistallation of these drivers corrected the problem. So I had located the source of the problem.

But it went deeper, the Hauppauge drivers for the PVR-150MCE can not be installed in th same operating system as almost ANY other capture device drivers or software.Pinnacle Studio 9 even states on there website that it will not work with Hauppauge devices.

I found a work around by creating a Dual operating system with MCE 2005 (for the TV Tuner etc) and XP Home Edition (for my video capture).

If you are using a seperate capture device and like your current configuration (ie you do not want to use the PVR for analog capture for home videos etc,) then you have some serious work cut out for you!!

Overall a great card, minus the workaround needed for my situation

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Capture Board!
This card is hardware encoding capture board, so it works great even with my old computer. Picture Quality is good! I record a lot of children's program and enjoing them with my daughter now.
    Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great card, but no remote
This card works great and Hauppauge cards are well supported by many different PVR projects out there. The non-MCE version comes with nice remote (but no FM reciever). ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars great card
We got this card for our new HP, because there were certain games I wanted to play like HL2, and Doom3.The preformance upgrade was like night and day over my MX400.It isn't top of the line, but running Doom 3 on 1024*768, 8x AA, and high video settings, I was able to score 23 fps on the time demo. When I overclocked this card to 320/450 opposed to hte standard 270/400, I saw on average, a 5-10 fps jump in all my games. After that, the only time HL2 lagged was when I was near water, and even then I could still score 25fps.Doom 3 shot up from 23fps to 28, which makes a large difference in gameplay smoothness.Overall, not the best card if your going to be gaming a lot, unless you plan to overclock. But still can handle todays generation of games very nicely, with room to spare. All together, 8 out of 10 stars.

    My other specs-
    AMD ATHLON 64 3300+ running at 2.4GHz
    512MB COrsair PC3200
    Maxtor 160GB 7200rpm hd
    1024*768 16 inch LCD

5-0 out of 5 stars Good budget buy.
Graphics quality is very high, FPS are good but not great. Very easy to install and rather cheap. Lacking anything interesting in the bundle but that is acceptable. Over all its a excellent card at a very good price. Comparativly on my system it is out performing my now-dead 9800 Pro by a significant amount. Runs much cooler, as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome upgrade
After buying some new games like LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth and Half-Life 2 and running them, but knowing they could look soooo much better, I looked into an upgrade. I've got a 2.5 gHZ pentium 4 and 1 GB RAM, and with card I was able to crank up all my games to the highest quality setting. they look freakin unbelievable -- Great card, great price!

3-0 out of 5 stars Gray lines is a joke
Please don't listen to the guy complaining obout gray lines on his nVidia video card. The card he was using was a RIVA TNT card that came out in 1998. Get a life.

I have owned nVidia products for years with no problem. I have a PNY geforce2-ti-4200 now and have had no problems whatsoever period.

The problem is most likely a cheap manufacturer, since nVidia licenses its tech to 3rd parties for production. Buy the card from a reputable manufacturer like eVGA, ASUS, LeadTek, Chaintech, or MSI.

By the way, if you're looking for the best framerate, look elswhere, the 5200-5600 series were meant for a value market, not top-end gaming framerate. If you want to play Doom-3, and Halflife-2 best info I have is to buy at least a fx5900 ultra 256mb.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy any NVidia product
I had a NVidia graphics card that came with my computer. After a period of 2...3 years, I developed a problem that made gray streaks appear on my screen. After replacing the monitor, changing drivers, I realized that it was a graphic card problem. Since then, I've found that many people (one example: http://www.nocrash.com/ncbbs/msgs/157.shtml) have had this problem with NVidia cards. ... Read more

    5-0 out of 5 stars PVR350 + GBPVR software = FREE-VO!
If you like the idea of TIVO, enjoy to tinker with the software setup, and would like a project you can finish in a day, get this card.I've been running this card for about two months now as a successful personal video recorder.Never missed a show, and found a couple of things that I now watch all the time.Great card, can be a bit buggy on the software side, but if you can handle the tinkering, awesome!check out www.gbpvr.com

3-0 out of 5 stars RF problems with 350 tuner card
I purchased the 350 a month ago. There is severe RF interference on some higher numbered channels (channels 66, 69, 70, 71,72) only when the FM antenna is plugged into the card - these channels are not viewable.Removal of FM antenna returns the affected TV channels to good quality.I have had many email exchanges with Hauppauge technical support and after a month of trying different things, they are finally going to set up an RMA for the card. It is not yet determined if it is defective or a bad design.I was hoping to have it ready for season 3 of Nip-Tuck. I'm not too happy that is has taken this long to get to this point.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good at first but now, YIKES!
I bought this card about three weeks ago, installed it, restarted the PC, the new hardware wizard found it and it installed perfectly.I played with it for a few days, set up my TV stations, tried capturing some video off of the TV, etc. Then my hard drive decided to take a vacation so I had to go out and buy a new one. After I installed the hard drive and put all the junk back onto the computer, I noticed that I never got the "found new hardware" alert for this card.Funny.I looked in the device manager, but it wasn't there.I decided to take the card out, turn the computer back on, turn it off again and put the card back in.I did this at least 15 times and the computer didn't recognize the card, even after trying it in 4 differrent slots. Finally, as if some miracle was bestowed upon me, the 16th time I got the glorious indication from Windows XP that it found the hardware!I reinstalled all of the drivers and side programs but the card never worked as nice as it did the first time.Since then I've installed, removed and reinstalled all of the software a bunch of times.I think it's working OK now although the Ulead Movie Maker that came with it does not see my VCR connected to the card even though the WinTV 2000 program does.Funny.So I can watch TV, record TV, pause TV, etc. but not transfer my video tapes to DVD, which was the primary reason for getting this card.My Sonic MyDVD doesn't see the card, Microsoft's Movie Maker doesn't see the card and Ulead, the program that came with the card, doesn't see it.I have an e-mail in to Hauppauge asking them which DVD software actually DOES recognize this card.If trasferring tapes to the computer was as easy as setting up the TV portion of this card, I'd give it four or five stars!

Update 4/6/05 - Soon after writing this review I began to have a problem with this card.I started getting a clicking/popping noise coming out of the right speaker whenever I tried to record a VCR tape to the hard drive. I tried every possible combination of tapes, VCRs and cables but nothing worked.I contacted Hauppauge and they tried to fix the problem but couldn't so they had me return it (on my own dime) and gave me a new one that has the same problem.I'm about out of ideas as this was the primary reason for buying this card. The TV portion works fine and recording off of the TV is fine too. But, for me, the card is usless.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is a great product!!!
I have never had any problems with audio sync like I have had with other capture devices. The only problem I have with it is that for some reason my TV Tuner and Wireless card do not like each other so I have to disable my wireless connection before I can open WinTV 2000 or else the program crashes and then a couple of minutes later the OS (WinXP Pro) crashes. But other than that I really like this TV Tuner Card.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great piece of hardware, horrible software
4/28/05 - I have to update this review (from 10/1/04).I have since upgraded to Windows Media Center Edition 2005.This card is great with MCE. There are cheaper Hauppauge cards that also work fine with MCE, so it might be worth taking a look at them before spending the $ on this card. I also wanted to change this review to 5 stars, but Amazon doesn't seem to allow changes to the star rating.

After years of owning various ATI All-In-Wonder video cards, I decided it would be cheaper to go ahead and buy a TV only card, and not have to spend a fortune everytime it was time to upgrade my video card.Quick and to the point, here are my findings :

    Negatives :
    1. The 'web based' program guide is a very clumsy interface.I would much rather have a application based program guide.
    2. No matter what I try, channel 2 always has ghosting.I know it's the card because I had the same cable plugged into my ATI AIW with no problems, and also plugged it into a TV with no picture problems.Maybe moving the card further away from the video card will help?
    3. While I'm sure there is a way, I have yet to find how to change the recording quality. After fumbling through the software I finally gave up.

    Positives :
    1. The FM Radio program is pretty slick, and the reception is ok.No complaints.
    2. Unlike the ATI AIW cards (and probably the TV Wonder's) you can set the program to automatically mute while recordinging and close the application when it's done recording. You still have to go back into the scheduler and modify EACH individual scheduled task.It would be nice to either highlight all and change them all at once, OR set a default for all new recordings.
    3. Hardware based TV OUT is nice.
    4. PLENTY of 3'rd party software supports this card. This is a big plus since in my opinion the software that comes with the card is lacking.

I would have gave this card 5 stars if the bundled software was better.Plan on purchasing SageTV or similar if you plan on buying this card. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great HD on a Powermac G5
I have the EyeTV 500 hooked up to my Dual 2.0 Ghz G5 Powermac. I had trouble receiving HDTV over the airwaves, but that is because I am in mountain terrain far from the broadcast towers. When I can get a signal locked in, the picture is great.

However, with the newest software the EyeTV 500 can decrypt clear QAM. This means that if your cable company does not encrypt their HD channels, the EyeTV 500 can decode it.Oddly, you have to hook up the cable to the "antenna out" jack if you are goihg to try to decode cable HDTV.On my cable system, I get ABC, CBS NBC and Discovery Channel HD.

The picture quality is superb and recording is easy (but it takes many gigabytes per hour).I find myself wanting to watch TV on my Mac now because the picture quality is so good.

Playing back full HD requires a G5, but G4s can play it back at a lower quality and it still looks really goood.

Interestingly, recording itself is not processor intensive. It mearly dumps the data stream over the firewire port. But playback requires processing the data, which takes power. But in theory you could set up a recording station with an older mac.

What I now want is a set top box that can stream HD content from my mac and display it on an HDTV.Such a device exists now (the Roku Labs Photobridge), but I have a strong suspiscion that newer and better devices, possibly even from Apple, are around the corner. ... Read more

    Amazon.com Product Description

Designed specifically for users of Apple's Power Mac desktop systems (Mac OS X version 10.2.5 or higher), the ATI Technologies Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Edition graphics card takes visual realism and performance for games and 3D animation to exciting new heights. The Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Edition offers full OpenGL support and full floating-point architecture to deliver all the performance and power of the standard Radeon 9800 Pro, with the added feature of ATI's VersaVision display rotation, a versatile dual display configurable for either landscape or portrait display.

With 8 parallel rendering pipelines, a 256-bit memory interface, and 128 MB double-data-rate (DDR) memory, the card is capable of executing up to 8.4 billion instructions per second and delivering an astounding 21 GB per second of memory bandwidth. The graphics board's display flexibility supports multiple displays through its VGA, DVI, and S-video outputs.

SmoothVision anti-aliasing technology enhances image quality using programmable multi-sampling methods to post-process graphics before they are actually displayed. SmartShader makes both the geometry- and pixel-processing stages more programmable than ever so developers can easily create new graphics effects while maintaining high performance. Finally, Hyper Z makes Z-buffer bandwidth usage more efficient by decreasing the amount of information sent to the frame buffer.

VersaVision lets you rotate your display while maintaining the full feature set of other ATI 2D and 3D technologies. ATI's hardware-accelerated display rotation and scaling technology allows for rotation left or right by 90 degrees, or you can flip it upside down for a full 180-degree rotation. Relative Rotation allows you to rotate the contents of your display. The card maintains full 3D support regardless of your selected rotation. (A revert button undoes all changes and sets everything to the original state or last known good setting.)

Note: Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Edition only displays 3D graphics in thousands and millions of colors. When you set your display to 256 colors, this will affect Finder, OpenGL, Quartz Extreme, and QuickTime acceleration. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Product "ok", support awful
I purchased several of these boards at once in order to watch HDTV from my PC.However, I've had some problems in using the boards and the company seems designed to make customer support difficult; the support web site does not work, with my having waste 1.5 hours in trying to type up a support incident ni several different "interfaces".

4-0 out of 5 stars Works For Me Which Makes It OK In My Book
I took a chance and purchased the HDTV Wonder. Many of the reviews talk about installation problems and what not.I think it may have been buggy when introduced in the summer of 2004 but if my experience is anything to measure by they've ironed out most of the bugs.

As with any new hardware product early adopters can face problems with rough drivers.I got mine in March 2005, went to ati.com and downloaded the latest drivers, ATI multimedia center, etc... This should be done when installing any new hardware.Installation required installing the card and several reboots as the software & dirvers was being installed. It all went fairly smooth. The card does as promised. No problems recording over the air HDTV.I set one program to record at 9PM on Mondays and it automatically records every Monday at 9PM.ATI uses their own 'library' software to catalogue what's recorded. The library is also used to export the HDTV to other formats such as DVD or VCD mpeg files.DVD's require authoring (ie, menus and chapters) and burning in programs (as far as I can tell ATI hasn't included DVD authoring or burning software).... I use TMPGend DVD author since it's so easy and Nero to burn.Discs look great on my Infocus X1 projected to 100".

The card does have some rough edges (hence only 4, not 5 stars). It doesn't work with the Guide+ for HDTV programming (you have to manually program day and time to record HDTV).My PC also is sluggish during and after recording (I'm using an Athlon 2400XP w/1 gig of RAM) so it is a resources hog.Still, it does what I got it for...records pristine HDTV off the air.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works great with XP SP1
Worked right out of the box the first time with Windows MCE 2002 SP1. After 2 days of trying different configurations, I could never get the machine upgraded to SP2 and still have the card work - just got a "No Signal" message.

So stick with SP1, install the drivers off the CD that comes with the card, upgrade with Catalyst 5.2 and the new ATI MMC from ATI and turn off automatic updates so you can skip SP2 incompatibility.

1-0 out of 5 stars It worked once...
But then I ran into a snaffu (and this might show an example of when you start from the ground floor with all current software). I lost my original Windows XP installer CD (the pre-SP1 one). So basically when my computer went to pot I had to buy a new copy of Windows XP. This time it had SP2 streamlined into the CD. Woohoo! Anyway, with the first install it was great. I got HDTV and TV working without a hitch. I install everything as directed this time and I'm running into problems similar to what people are having here. DX, sound, drivers, etc. And it keeps insisting that my USB hard drive isn't DMA enabled. I haven't found out how you enable DMA on a USB hard drive since it's not on the IDE bus of the motherboard.

Bottom line: ATI software sucks the big one. I give it one star as a warning for others to stay away from all ATI products. I have no hope ATI will get their act together since thier bottom line is profits and competing in profits with nVidia.

    Stay away from ATI.

This is an honest review from a guy who's fed up with ATI's BS.

1-0 out of 5 stars HDTV WONDER NIGHTMARE
I spent days and nights trying to install this card on my computer even when my computer over pass all the hardware and software requirements. The image quality was not that good after all and the image also keeps flitting and freezing.I rather keeps watching my regular home TV and save the money and the frustration. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Not really an ATI ORIGINAL
It is presented as an original ATI RADEON card, when it is really a JETWAY card with the 9800 chipset.

Please considered it, you are betting 160 dollars on a chineese product.

AMAZON and global computing should make clear what are you buying.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good AGP videocard
This PC videocard is still a very good upgrade for those not willing to invest in a complete system upgrade or don't care about 1200x768 resolution with 6X Anti-Aliasing, etc. Image display & playability with majority of games out on market is very good. Games such as Far Cry, Painkiller, Half Life 2, Diablo II, Doom 3, Halo, Warcraft 3, Sims 2, etc. all play wonderfully with some video setting tweaking, game patches & driver updates.

I have this installed in a PC with the Soyo KT600 Dragon Ultra PE mobo, 512MBx2 Geil PC3200/400MHz VRam, Athlon XP 2600+ Barton 1.92GHz CPU, Seagate 160GB HDD 7200 RPM, Thermaltake 480W PSU, and other needed components. Being my mobo has mfr listed compatibility issues I'm running this card AGP 4X and these are my benchmarks: 3DMark05 2800, 3DMark01SE 14500, AquaMark 30000, PCMark04 5000, & 3DMark03 ?. System is running at stock settings no OCing of any kind and its decent for gaming all within warranty. Even at AGP 4X this beats out my ATi AIW 9600XT AGP 8X in display appeal and frames.

This and other mid to high-end cards however may only slightly improve game performance if you are running an older system with lots of bottleneck, but still improvements should be decent regardless. *Dell owners may have to request/buy stronger powersupply units from Dell to fully support cards power consumption demand. Most low to mid range performance Dell PCs are equipped with only standard min 250W PSU so system lock ups, restarts, blue screen, and other symptoms may occur. There are many variations of this card from many mfr's so try other vendors such as NewEgg.com for lower prices. The only major advantage of buying "Built by ATi" instead of "Powered by ATi" is the 3 yr ATi mfr warranty that not all 3rd party mfr do not offer. Same technology just differ warranty, but for this listed price I'd probably buy Nvidia GeForce 6600GT AGP instead. If you insist on this vcard then pair this with at least 1 GB of RAM and your gaming will be joyful. Also defrag your drives while your at it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best card for under $200
I spent a long time deciding between this card and the Nvidia Geforce FX5900.The last time I got an ATI card it was a nightmare. My ATI All-in-wonder card was plagued with constant lockups and slow downs.

With that being said, I was very wary of putting another ATI card in my system.I had always been happy with Nvidia, so the choice should have been obvious, but I did extensive research and my results prompted me to give ATI another chance.I purchased the 9800 Pro from ebay for a steal at $150 for my PC build.I must say it is worth every penny.

All of my games run smoothly on my Athlon 3000+ with 1GB ram.The only problem I had with this card is that I could not get it to run Doom 3 right out of the box.The game would always crash to the desktop when I tried to start a new game.No other games gave me any problem except doom 3.I searched the internet and found that many others were having problems with this card and Doom 3.I found and downloaded some third party drivers that fixed the problem.Doom 3 runs very good on my system now and doesnt crawl along as I expected it to.I haven't played Doom 3 too much after getting it working, because I haven't really gotten into the game as of yet. However I have been playing other games like Halo and quake 3 and I am amazed at the crispness, and brillant colors. These games run very smooth and quick with no slowdowns or choppiness whatsoever.

ATI may have won me back as a customer, but only time will tell.

5-0 out of 5 stars PCI Express is an unknown technology
I don't even have this card, just felt the PCI Express loving guy is pretty stupid. There are no cards out so how in the heII do you know that it's so much better than AGP.AGP 1x to 8x there barely is a performance increase and with computers still coming out with AGP these cards will be supported for a few years to come.

1-0 out of 5 stars PCI express is the future
If you have waited until now to get this graphic card, you should wait just for few more weeks. The PCI express is the only way to go.I guess by the end of this year, AGP will be a thing of the past.Which means your next computer purchase will not be able to use this card. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product - does what it says
I wanted to put a TV in my child's play room, which also had a computer. This device enables me to use the computer as a TV.It works great, my 4 year old has no problem using it.

I installed the device in my only PCI slot, hooked my cable coax into it, started my PC, and the drivers automatically loaded.I have XP SP2.The whole process took about 10 minutes. The software then starts and after about 5 minutes, goes through the cable channels to store the channels. Then, you are ready to go.

The unit is equipped with a remote. The remote points to an "eye".The eye is attached to a medium-sized small cord that is attached to the PCI card (under the coax cable). You are able to position the eye where you want it, although the cord the eye is on is not long.If you have a desktop sitting on the floor, it will barely reach the top of a computer desk.I taped the cord just under my keyboard shelf, so the remote needs to be pointed low.

The functionality of the software is great. You can change the channel with the computer or remote. There is a button to enable "full screen" on the computer, but not on the remote. The picture is excellent. The ability to pause live TV, or record ad-hoc or timed works extremely well.

    This is a great product.

5-0 out of 5 stars Needed 2 Video Displays - Good Value
I was amazed that the one DVI output actually is compatible to VGA display - What's the mystery to all these XYZ exotic-sounding different "standards"?
DVI, VGA what's the difference if a $3 passive gender-switcher can handle the signals between 'em?

ATI's Hypervision software handles my 2 CRTs seamlessly.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works Great!
I bought this a week ago because I was itching to play Doom 3, and it worked! I'm not really a hardcore gamer, but it met all my expectations. It runs all of my favorite games, old and new, quite efficiently. If you're one of the people with a 64 megabyte card who wants to upgrade, this is the card for you, unless you want to pay obscene amounts of money for a 256 meg card. And don't get an NVIDIA, they have severe I/O problems. Its much more worth you money if you get this, or any other ATI model.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great video card for a great price
I bought my Radeon 9200 through newegg.com and it works just fine for what I use it for.I get an average of about 40fps on mostly medium and high quality settings on Half-Life 2, nearly flawless on Battlefield: 1942, and I had an average of 60fps on high quality for Call of Duty.If your in need of a new video card, or just trying to get one so you won't have to use onboard anymore, go with the 9200 and move up when some of the higher end cards prices go down.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great card..just needs a good owner
Bought this card about 4-5 months ago and I have to say it's an amazing card you just need to know how to gain its full potential. The drivers supplied are to say the least OUT OF DATE! Go directly to http://www.guru3d.com and get the latest ATI omega drivers these are fine tweaked to a higher spec than any made by ATI and also allow you to overclock your card. I overclocked mine to almost 300mhz core and 250mhz mem now I can play Half Life 2 (All settings on high no jumping or stuttering) and Doom 3 on High with no side effects. Now for the money this card is a bargain just dont give up on it at face value. It is a nifty little card that can compete with cards 10x it's price it has all latest features (2004/05). I couldnt recommend this card more. Also omega drivers are compatible for all ATI cards so the graphics are getting faster and smoother every month.

1-0 out of 5 stars Do not waste your money!
Just last September, I went from 64 Mb to this 128 mb 9200 SE card in hopes of playing Doom 3, and in preparation for Half-Life 2. First off, it was horrible playing Doom 3, even after re-authoring the game, and some tweaks I found on gaming sites. I IMMEDIATELY was disgusted having paid $70 (after rebates), and bought a nVidia FX 5700 LE 256 Mb for about $115. I can now play all the high end games I want (albeit at medium settings). So, spend a little more and get a medium price card. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Value but Confusing
The hardware is great value, easy to install and has excellent capture quality. On the downside, the software has a rather complex user interface with little or no documentation. The Broderbund video editing software, as you might expect, is kid-level and clunky, but the neoDVD capture software is both powerful and solid, and there lies the problem if you are not already familiar with video terminology. It includes Help and an online Tutorial, but both are skimpy, and have huge gaps in explaining the video technology. However, if you are willing to make the effort to learn, and waste a few CD-Rs in trial-and-error experimentation, then this is definitely the best buy - it only loses a star for lack of good documentation. If you want an idiot-proof, out-of-the-box system then deduct another star and plan on the extra cost of buying better documented software.

5-0 out of 5 stars This USB Device is super
This USB device is value for money, it really works well. Soon after easy install the device was working great. I do not use the software which came with the device instead I use Inter Media Win DVD Creator 2.00 which came my Compaq AMD 3400+ (2.2gh) 512 memory 200 GB harddrive. The end result is very good indead. The Amazon,s service is super, I got it FEDEX ground (Free) (Ordered Friday recevived it on Monday). When you get the Amazon Credit Card ($30) off so it just coat me $11.00) can be bad at this price

4-0 out of 5 stars Great value - easy to use
This device was a breeze to install and works well in capturing video from my DVR as well as my camcorder. The only problem I have encountered is with the included MovieShop 6.5 software.I am running Windows XP and my system meets all the requirements. However, even with a clean install, the Movieshop program simply does not run on my computer.Luckily, I have another video editing and DVD burning program that easily integrates with the files I capture with this device.I suspect there is some conflict between the included MovieShop program and a pre-existing one on my computer. However, I have neither the time nor the patience to troubleshoot this problem.

The video quality is good, although I find the sound to be a bit distorted.

1-0 out of 5 stars Stay Away
First, the quality of the image is horrible. It does support the S-Video, but the quality of output is even worse than the 8mm, not even close to Hi8. I don't think my computer limits the performance. I am using P4 2.8G,with 512 MB ram.
Second, the software provided has very limited function. It doesn't even has the split and combine function. Record audio track is impossible. With only a few effects to add on.
Finally, the price is ok. DON'T EXPECT MUCH.

5-0 out of 5 stars I have a Pentium 1.5 and it still works
Yep thats right, my PC does not meet the requirements and it still does work. I have a 1.5 Pentium and 256 RAM. I connected my analog camera and it did record perfectly! I dont have the proper adapters to try my VCR with tis yet, but Im sure it would work. But be sure to have at least a pentium 2.0! I happen to have a good ASUS motherboard.

Be sure to have a 2.0 USB Card too! I like this product! Great price and works goog despite the fact that my PC does not have the proper CPU! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars TivO for Mac - pretty close
So with my G4 notebook I'd seen TV tuners available that werent bad but not brilliant. Resolution was poor, pixelation occurred at all too small a window size so I bought one of these (not from here ;) ) and Ive got to say it soutstanding. Main things I like; 1.It looks pretty! It's very hi tech looking in 'Apple aluminum' and doesn't look out of place next to a Plasma or 'stereo' system. 2.It not only records in real MPEG4 without plugins needed (I believe that ElGatos EyeTV does require a proprietary plug in) but also DivX that allows far better compression and integration with Quicktime, iMovie and so on. 3. I don't have imovieHD but when it comes to me (hopefully soon) I'll know that this box will take care of it happily. 4. I think my favorite is using iCal to schedule a recording - what a simple system this is. Select a time and date for a channel and it records straigh to hard drive...I love that part!. If you are familiar with TV times online then titanTV might not be news to you but it was to me...titan Tv allows me to select a show from a live list and it's scheduled, recorded and ready for watching! Overall I've owned the Miglia DVR card for my older G5 and loved it but this has better resolution and better options. The elGato EyeTV (200 i think) is nothing compared to this. Try it, tell a friend, buy two! They're worth it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good card for the Money
I bought this card now about 5 months ago and it still amazes me. I have it hooked up to a 3.2 gig P4 with a Samsung SyncMaster 213T. I had no idea what I was missing before I had this set up. Doom 3 and especially Half Life 2 are amazing at full resolution , 1600x1200. The card's digital connection is the way to go. This grapichs card is well worth the money I think. Plus it has a lifetime guarantee. I guess that's fine but with technology advancing the way it does, I can't imagine that would be a reason to buy this, it did however make me feel comfortable that for the next couple of years I don't have to worry about it frying. I have a clear case and the blue cool cathode light on the fans look awesome as well. No crashes or issues that I have noticed since installed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Value Around
This card was not intially slated for release, but because of ATi's X800 Pro Nvidia had to respond with a $400 card of its own. To put it simply this card owns. The diffrence between this and the Ultra is marginal at best. I reclocked this card to Ultra speeds and fell only 300 3DMark03 points behind an ultra.

This card comes with 16 pipelines active, 4 more than the X800 Pro. A 350Mhz Core clock and i believe either 450 or 500Mhz memory, both of which can be reclocked using coolbits (serach google if you don't know what that is).

It also contains the DirectX 9.0c spec which i currently use with Need For Speed Underground 2. And this card performs AMAZING absolutely 0 frame lag @ 1600x1200 and max detail, its that fast.

Point blank: if you don't want to speedn $550+ for an ultra this is your only choice, the 6800GT. Even if your considering an Ultra do you want to pay $150 for 5 more FPS? There is that little diffrence between the 2 :P

Every few years or so, I go all out and buy myself the "top of the line" graphics card.Being a gamer, I see it as a great investment and a way to ensure that I can always play the newest games without problems.

I bought the Radeon X850 XT PE after reading lots of reviews that hyped it as being the best card on the market.Once I got this card home, I figured installing it would be a snap.Boy was I wrong.

I first worked on removing all of the video drivers from my system (a must when upgrading video cards), then I installed the hardware. The card fit perfectly, and my comp booted just fine.I followed the instructions step by step and installed the drivers and software from the bundled CD, but I had lots of graphical glitches. So many that I could barely even read my screen. Then I uninstalled and started from scratch. No go.I then downloaded the newest Radeon drivers (they were newer than the bundled CD).After installing them, my computer would not even boot unless I started in safe mode. While the card seem to be recognized just fine by windows [xp pro], it seems as thought the software (Catalyst Control Center) and drivers just refused to recognize the card.

I spent about 4 hours working on it and did extensive searches on the web.It seems that althought the cards' specs say it is AGP 4x/8x compatible, it is not.My motherboard apparently has issues with ANYTHING over 4x.I suppose I could have gone further and contacted ATI support, but they are only open 9-7 Eastern time and this was on the weekend.Besides that-- when I pay over $500 for a card, I EXPECT an easy install.I was not willing to devote ANY more of my time trying to make this work.

Afterwards, I uninstalled the Radeon drivers, and reinstalled my old GeForce4 4600ti.I installed the (Nvidia) card and drivers and the entire process took about 2 minutes.I was really bummed that I couldn't use this card, but after buying it, I definitely didn't have the cash to upgrade my mobo, buy a new processor and RAM.If you are thinking about purchasing this card, do some searches on the web to find people that own this card AND your specific model of motherboard.Or... make sure the place you buy from has a good return policy.
