Connectors fail
I purchased this as an "add-on" to sync & charge my M500 at the office, leaving the one that came with my Palm at home.

From the start it was intermittent at performing a HotSync, or even at charging.Eventually (2 weeks)it stopped working at all.Since I had lost the receipt, I decided to take it apart and see what I could do.

The problem is that the connector block itself (that mates with the bottom of the Palm) is only seated by a (very) shallow "ledge" in the base and the flanges (!) of two screws.Since this arrangement is not very resistent to the frequent in-and-out that a Palm is subject to, the connector block worked loose.This initially caused problems in seating the connector block, requiring more force be used to make the connection and downward pressure on the block broke two of the wires, from the PC board, soldered to pins in the conector block.

At some point I'll take a soldering pencil and reconnect the wires, and put two slim screws through the block to the cradle base to hold it in place.

In the meantime, I've purchased a hotsynce/charger USB cable (instead of the cradle) and we will see how well that one fares.

Quit working after a few days
Bought it as a cradle for the home.The Palm cradle, that came with the handheld, stays at work.The iConcepts cradle worked fine for a couple of days and than stopped being recognized by the computer (incidently, it's the same laptop I use at work).The charging mechanism still functions, but it no longer performs a HotSync.Upon investigation, it appears the USB/Serial cable running into the cradle has worked itself loose.The base of the cradle swivels.The cable appeared to be pressed against the base and the cradle.Every time the cradle swivled, excess force was placed on the cable where it entered the cradle, eventually loosening the connection.
My advice, spend the extra [money] and buy the cradle made by Palm. ... Read more

Lousy workmanship
The connector is poorly constructed. The left and right pin to hold on to the PDA slot are very weak. The connector cannot be plugged firmly into the slot. It cannot sync properly because the connection is on for a while and then off for a while. Strongly recommend never buy it.

Tengo una POCKET PC 3870, me robaron del automovil la caja original con todos los accesorios (Base, Cargador, CD, etc) claro ademas el pasacintas y mi maletin.
Bueno la pregunta es, ustedes poseen los accesorios que trae el empaque original???, deseo adquirirlos, pues aqu? en Colombia es un poco dificil conseguirlos.

They were happy to help and got the replacements out fast.

Does not charge my iPAQ 3835 off a powered USB port
I read the reviews prior to purchasing this device.Some commented the product performed as advertised.Others had trouble getting the device to charge thier iPAQ.I happen to have another USB sync/charger cable manufactured by Belkin, handy.I plugged the Belkin model into a powered USB port and it performed very well.It came with a switch which allowed one to hook up and just charge or hook up and sync.When I tried the iConcepts cable, it failed to charge my iPAQ although it did sync.I called the folks at Sakar International who produce the iConcepts' products and they admitted that my device was probably defective.They offered a replacement, but I elected to return the cord to Amazon for full reimbursement.Course, Amazon was great and even paid for the shipping, as the customer service at Amazon is always excellent.I caution folks to reconsider purchasing this product since it appears many have received defective cables. ... Functional, but outdated
When this product came out, it could turn any N or S series Sony PDA into an MP3 player.Now much smaller, and higher capacity mp3 devices are available, with much longer battery life than the old sony pda's could muster.Pass on this item, even if you find it on discount, and buy an inexpensive 128 meg mp3 player instead. ...
