One of the best PDAs in the market
I've been using my Sony Clie NX80V since a year, and is still impressive the performance of this palm... the swivel screen allows you to use this like a normal PDA or like a laptop, an even better with its small keyboard, convenient for thumb fingers or small hands. I also found amazing the dual (CF and MemoryStick) card reader, and if you buy the WiFi CF card for Clie, you can do everything with this handheld. Besides, it has a lot of convenient software, like the Picsel viewer and NetFront browser. The only software I added is DocumentsToGo, and I can edit my .doc and .xls files (even simple PowerPoint presentations), and still view it in my PC when I plug my Clie to it. The screen is huge, brillant with its wonderful shrinkable Graffiti area, that allows you to add direct access to many applications you use often. Finally the camera is really great (I haven't seen any PDA with a 1.3M pixels built-in camera... and fast), and Sony knows how to make it look beautiful, including the cradle, and the MP3 player sound great, and much better with the hand controller.

Say Goodbye To Sony's US and European PDA Market
I love my Sony Clie, PEG NX80V.I bought it less than a year ago, and the resolution, screensize and vivid display still astound my associates.The performance is quick for PDAs made in 2003, and the product is still superior in technology when compared to most of todays sales.I have to complain that Sony stopped offering online updates (drivers, patches, etc) for this product less than 7 months after releasing it. Now, after current stocks run out, Sony will retreat to ASIA, where they are selling the latest PDA, it's really going to blow you away.
Compare Sony to Palm, and Sony comes in about equal. I recommend buying this product new or used, it has never let me down.

It's All About Accessories - The Good and the Bad
In today's world of electronic gadgets, there are two things that really are frustrating:1) Once you buy an electronic gadget - it often is obsolete the next day; 2) You often need to get lots of accessories to get the most use of your gadget.On top of that, when you are ready to buy a replacement gadget to replace the one you want - all of the accessories you bought are suddenly no good. Thus, the dilemma I faced when my old Palm IIIc finally showed signs it was nearing the end of its life was what to buy.I had used my IIIc for 3 1/2 years. During this time, I had such accessories as a Leather Case,A Keyboard, and a Travel Charger.Now as I was viewing what Palm (today) had to offer, I discovered that those nice accessories I owned were suddenly no good because none of the new models that Palm offered were compatible with them. Not a happy camper. As I mention above, this isn't a Palm-specific problem, but a problem with consumer electronics - and something companies in the consumer electronics industry have completely taken advantage of the consumers.

Enter Sony's Clie PEG-NX80V - this is known as Sony's Personal Electronics Organizer. In addition to being a very impressive unit, it did seem to solve some of my immediate problems around accessories, but of-course introduced a new set of accessory problems I did not imagine.

First up the unit itself. It is a beautiful unit that will immediately make a great first impression.It is silver and basically looks like a mini tablet computer. For starters, the unit folds down into its own hard case - so I didn't need to buy any extra cases because this protected the screen (I keep mine in a Day Planner binder, but you still may want a leather cover to prevent case scratches).When you open the unit, you will see a screen and a keyboard - now it looks like a mini laptop. The Keyboard solved my dilemma of having to buy a keyboard (I use mine to enter sales data and really depend on a keyboard - this one works great). Now the cool feature is you can swivel the screen around and fold it back down on top of the keyboard into the traditional PDA view - now its just like a regular PDA. The PEG-NX80V package also comes with a beautiful looking USB cradle in which the back of the cradle is translucent. In addition, the AC Charger unplugs from the cradle and can be plugged into an plug adapter that connects to the unit - now you have your travel charger.Yes, the plug adapter is included.That solved my travel adapter problem (I take it on the road a lot).The unit also has a slot for expanding memory with a Sony Memory Stick or Compact Flash Card as well as connecting a wireless lan card.

There are some other impressive features with this unit. First up the stuff you get out of the box.The unit comes loaded with Palm OS 5.Sony also packages their own version of the Launcher Program - which looks very attractive.The Sony Launcher does get some getting used to, but I like it because it looks good.If you can't get used to it, you can switch to the traditional Palm OS launcher.There is a jog dial on the unit for making scrolling lists very easy. To write, the unit comes with Palm's Graffiti 2, but there is something better - the Decuma Input Handwriting Recognition Software.Decuma Input has a utility where you enter your handwriting and then the unit will recognize your writing.I found the change from standard Graffiti to Graffiti 2 a bit annoying.But Decuma Input is terrific and once you get used to it, you won't go back.The unit will allow you to switch between Decuma Input and Graffiti.The unit comes with an application that will turn your PDA into a Universal Remote Control to use with such devices as a TV, DVD, VCR, etc.Finally the unit comes with a built in voice memo recorder for recording quick voice memos, storing them in the unit and playing them back.Only thing disappointing is a very cheap styled stylus.

As for this being a Personal Electronics Organizer, it has some terrific features - but also some warnings. For starters it has a Built in 1.3 Megapixel Camera with a flash - its only 1.3 Megapixels, so it won't replace your digital camera.It's a nice feature and you can store pictures and do some cool things like put photos in your address book.Be warned - snapping a picture will consume a lot of power from your battery (especially with the flash) - more than you expect.Be also warned, you MUST have a Memory Stick to export/import pictures with your PC and Clie - thus another accessory. There also is a built in MP3 Player (the unit does come with headphones) and a Movie Camera as well.Using the MP3 unit and Movie Camera does require the Use of a Memory Stick - thus this becomes another "required" accessory.The Data Backup Program does also require the Memory Stick.From looking at the specs, it isn't intuitive you need the Memory Stick for these features.

While this is a great unit and it did solve my accessory problems, it created a whole new set of others (namely with the Memory Stick).It is also worth noting to get the Wireless LAN for internet access is a costly accessory as well.However the unit is still very impressive looking and works terrific.Price out what accessories you want and need - then shop carefully.Your bet is to try to get it on sale or for a rebate though to get the most for your money.

After over a year of daily use...
This is my third PDA, the priors were Palm IIIvx, Sony Clie 610C. I really use my PDA all day, so I could justify paying a bit more for a nicer PDA.I have friends with CE based machines and they really don't use them nearly as much as I use mine.

Pros:
Too many to mention all of them, but the all add up to great usability.I really used a lot of the features that I thought were just bells and whistles.The flip display is great because you don't need a case unless you are trying to keep the unit pretty.The camera was a life-saver for shooting white boards before they get erased and showing tech support problems that were hard to describe over the phone/email without a picture.The voice memo took excellent notes even at conference meetings (much better than my friend's Palm Tungsten 2).Additional apps such as a mileage log (Trip) have been so important to me that I replaced the hard-wired button for notes with it. The Silk Launcher has a mode that adds more app buttons to the graffiti area.

Battery life is very good. I would often go for 3 or 4 days between charges, regardless of the display brightness.If I reduced the brightness, I could go for a week of light use between charges.

Cons:
A tad big.Too heavy to tote around for MP3s at the gym.
After well over a year of heavy use, the Power/Hold slider button died, making the unit unusable (Fortunately, I sync'd up just a few hours before it broke!).

Decision Time:
Sony want's $150 to fix it.For double that, I can get a new one, and since no other PDA surpasses the UX80V, I think I will do that.I have been very rough on my Clie, but it really is a workhorse for me.

Great PDA for medschool students
Great PDA, I'm a medschool student and it helps a lot in the hospital and in the classrooms. A lot of free medical software to download from the web. The camera it's awesome, it has a slow shutter function that allows you to take pictures even in dark rooms; the resolution (1.3MP) it's good and I can take pictures of patients, X ray films, CT scans and more with nice quality.
The battery lasts for at least 5 hours of continuous work, and the integrated keyboard helps a lot when you're tired of using the stylus. The internal memory it's quite short, but I bought a 256 MB Lexar MS (not too expensive) and don't have any problem.
I do recomend this PDA for medschool students because it's a helpful tool in the hospital (specially the camera). The free software I found on the web includes drug guides, medical calculators, diagnostic and tratment tools, medical news software, etc, etc, etc. ... Read more

AWFUL

Excelent option for palm lovers
I came from using TRGpro & Handera 330. Difficult to find a new PalmOS machine with the high usability of extinguished models.
I bought this unit recently, and love it. The screen is sharp (screen protector is a must before any use) and colourful. The dual card option (memory stick & CF) is scarse in PalmOS PDAs. I am a pediatrician an use both 1GB CF & 512MB MSPro cards.If you need to store a lot of data for reference or database needs, then NX-73V or NX-80V is for you. The difference: 5MB more (real) RAM and 1.3MP camera for NX80V. But NX73V is comparable in use and has a beautiful black case.
JackFlash is a must to take use of 15MB aditional FlashROM memory available inside the NX73V, so you take many files off RAM (to cards or FlashROM) to make space available.
Hope Palm & others will offer dual card capability in the future for PalmOS, but it would be unlikely.

I like it!
I gotta say, I bought this thing thinking that I would probably just use it to store numbers and play MP3's.I've owned the old Palm Pilot Original, the Palm V, and now this Clie.I must say that the Clie simply blows everything else out of the water.It's like a mini computer! I can view pictures, PDF's, XLS, DOC with the bundled software. The screen resolution is really awesome.

I've found myself taking it wherever I'm going (which is the point of a PDA!!!). This never happened before with my older PDA's because they were simply calendars and phonebooks... I enjoy having the camera on me at random times.Taking a little picture of my favorite dish at a restaurant or capturing a great picture of my dog at the park.Those are times you always wished you had brought your digicam but never had it on you!

The DECUMA input sucks... you need to write really neatly and separate e a c hl e t t e rso that it knows what you're talking about.I much prefer Graffiti 2.Graffiti 2 is soooo much cooler than Graffiti 1 that I have been using previously.BUT best of all, this thing has a QWERTY keyboard. I cannot stress how much nicer it is to use the QWERTY.I haven't used the stylus much at all. Most of my inputs are now a process of using my fingertip and then using the keyboard.It REALLY is much faster.

I also enjoy the fact that the thing doesn't have to boot up to get to the digicam or the voice recorder. One click of either button and the unit automatically snaps to the application you are requesting.I am enjoying taking oral notes with the voice record feature when I'm on the go and don't have time to type.

Overall, I'd suggest that you also check out the NX80 due to the better camera.I think I'll buy an NX80 eventually, but right now, for the price, the 73V does exactly what I need without costing TOO much.

Glad I Upgraded
Previous happy owner of a Clie NR60 but had to upgrade when I dropped it and broke the screen.The NX73 has everything I liked about my previous machine and in addition is Faster, has better screen resolution, and the Upgraded Palm OS.The Decuma handwriting recognition is great.The more I use it the more I like the ablity to take notes in my writing.The camara is lame and not a reason to buy this machine.The option for using CF cards is great plus in flexibility and cost.If you like to type your notes into your PDA, then this machine is not for you.The touch of the keyboard gives barely enough feedback.The Tungsten C has much better keyboard feel if you feel this is important.Bottom Line, if you like the big screen of the CLIE clamshell models (which to me makes a big difference), this is definitely the machine to buy.

NX73v is a slight upgrade from the previous nx series
The only thing that made me upgrade to this nx73v from my nx60 was the Decuma handwriting input.It is by far the best input software and I have been a graffiti user for 5 years.I thought I was fast on graffiti, but with decuma, I can write more naturally and much more quickly.Sony does it again. ... Good not Great
I think it's pointless to go on and on when writing a review so I'm gonna keep this short:
The Sony clie peg-nx70v is one wonderful piece of equipment.
I found that I extremely liked some of it's features like the compact design with the rotating screen, the thumb keyboard, the icon lay out, the camera/video recorder, and the voice recorder.
However, I rate it only good not great because of the annoying weight, how prone it is to being damaged, it's batery which tends to die rather quickly, and it's price.

Overall, I recomend the Sony clie peg-nx70v to most anybody!

me and my Clie
This thing has more buttons & bells than I'll ever use!I'm glad I bought a book "How to use Your Clie".The included paperwork doesn't begin to explain everything you can do.Screen display is sharp & clear.I like using Graffiti to enter data rather than the keyboard. (You have three entry methods to choose from.)

Great product
Unbelievable technology!!!Great sony software to improve the useability and increase the features available.Incredible leadership by Sony, very innovative.I purchased mine for $299 a display model at a local retailer, I had a 32 mb memory stick from a video camera I had,I have only had the CLIE for a few days but its wonderful,I have not tried to sync it yet, for mac you need the program the Missing Sync for 30$ you can download it I haven't yet, but I have read good reviews and it seems like a solid program.

No complaints, it seems that something like this should costat least$1500.The software that Sony provides for it is excellent Bravo Sony!!!I purchased the Zire 71 which is also an excellent product at a great price around $249, but if you can get the Sony for anywhere close to $369 or more its still a great deal.

Great Product
I have had one of these since they came out. I havent had any problems with it except a stuck pixle. I purchased mine from a retail store with the warrenty so i had it replaced.

Superb!!!
Sony hit a home run with this model of the PDA. This is my 8th PDA, and it's far and away the best. The display is very readable. The colors are great and really pop!! The machine is very customizable. The operating system is an improvement over the past offerings. I realize that Palm produced the basic OS, but Sony has added a lot of value for buyers of this most excellent machine. It's fast and accurate. YOU ROCK SONY!!!!!

The only drawback is that it doesn't use the Memory Stick Pro specification. But that's just a matter of a difference in specification maturity.

It can still use the 128 MB and 256 MB (128 MB x 2). It is enough storage for most folks.

Could be better
This game has Solitare, Video Poker, Backgammon and Word Searches.The backgammon is great and so is the solitare.But the Video poker could have been just straight poker for more challange.The Word searches aren't much of a challange.If you are looking for a boredom filler this is it.

Not the best handheld, but it is still my choice.
The TG50 is not the best Clie, but it is my top choice. I bought it when it first came out, and I broke the motherboard by having it in my bag. I loved it so much I ordered another one on ebay for $110.

I got my tg50 from ebay, you all should.It retails for about $300, I got a used one(that is great) for $97, less than I payed for my clie sj20 (b and w screen)
1- keyboard, gotta have it cause i hate graphiti
yah it takes a little getting used to but i like it (but it obviously doesn't compare to the one on the ux50)

3-well thought out and overall fantastic design

i previously had a sony sj20, which has a palm OS (no OS 5), so I am used to a palm pda, but that being this pda is extremely easy to use, I never looked at the manual, but figured out all the features anyway.
Neccessary accessories include
-a memory stick (64mb if just using for apps, 256 if you want to store a few songs(get these on ebay too, for about half price))
-a case, if you are getting a case that stays on it all the time(custom fit) which I recommend get the Bellagio one, its nice and it allows the pda to hotsync in a cradle while still in the case

Down and Out After One Year
What a nightmare. I had bought my Clie less than a year ago when it refused to stay on. After several tries to do a "hard boot" on it where I had to constantly restore y data from my back up I called what Sony loosely refers to as Customer Support.... What a misnomer. It took me approximately10 days just to get a person on the phone that understood the problems with my Clie and agree to let me send it in for warranty repair. I found the Service Tech's rude and very hard to understand. I needed to repeat what the problem was with the unit several times and was told it wasn't under warranty. I had to prove to them the date of purchase...not a problem.

Once they got their hands on it they decided that it had physical damage that caused the problem. I had had an area on the screen that had faded for at least 1-2 months before the problems began on a unit I used several times a day. After 10 days they phoned me back to say it was physical damage and they needed $138.00 to cover the repair and shipment of my unit. After I had paid the ransom for the return of my Clie to me it took another 15-20 days of constant phone calls to get status of the repair. Once they stated it would be sent the next day and to call for a tracking number. Once that they were waiting for parts, then that it was in for exchange due to the fact they were unable to keep it booted. This was my initial problem. Finally have someone call back from Sony San Diego stating that they no longer made my model and want to send me a sub-standard unit to replace it. If I want them to replace mine with a like unit that had the equipment on it I once hadI will have to give them another $60.00. They have little respect for their customers and have no qualms in using the old it was physical damage to make up for a poor warranty service. To this day I still have nothing resolved. I would give anything to have bought from any other company than Sony.

Sony Clie TG50 and my eMac
I bought my Clie TG50 a week ago as the sales person said "it runs OS 5.0 so it will work with your eMac", I learned sales clerks know as much as I do about technology! I purchased the refurbished Clie and bought it home 200 miles to learn it isn't compatible at all with my eMac. After phone calls and frustration, I learned to download "Missing sync" off the internet ($40), go to apple.com, download iSync and iSync conduit for PDA. Now I was finally having some success. Now that I have my eMac talking the same language as my Clie TG 50, I am really digging it.I love the date book, the memo's, the fact with a memory stick I can listen to music. I have downloaded a freeware game or two.My old paper date book has been retired, now I pack around a lite little box that has my info and some entertainment to boot. And my purse weighs a lot less!!In a way, if that clerk hadn't sold me this Clie', I wouldn't have learned so much about it and my eMac.

Very good value for your money
I have used the TG-50 for about 9 months now and it has performed well.In addition to the basic PDA functions, I like the one button activated voice recorder.I also use it to play MP3s and music videos and it works well.

I use Outlook on my PC when I hot sync, and have not had a problem.The software that comes with the TG-50 lets you sync with Outlook without much hassle.

The only irritaion that I have had is, sometimes it will give an error and the only option left is a hard reset.However, when it comes back up the most recent data is still there (I use a memory stick). Use the TG-50 with a memory stick and back-up regularly.Data back-up is essential no matter what technology you use.

Bottom line is...It really is a cool little gadget, and provides great value for your money. ... Read more

Thinking of buying a used one?Look again
Toshiba is known for their excellent notebook/laptop, but not for their PDA. My first PDA was the Apple Newton and Toshiba e335 is my current and last one (currently looking at the IPAQ 6315/6365).

My overall experience with the e335 is not too good. Hardware quality is very poor (cracked adaptor socket, creaking case). I am not at all a "heavy" user, but I still find this e335 to be inadequate and below average in everything. Battery life is average; plus it cannot be replaced when the battery is at the end of its lifetime. The processor is so slow and buggy, it requires "soft" reset several times a day.

The worst of all is the poor support from Toshiba itself as the maker of this PDA. The last rumor I heard was, Toshiba stops making and selling PDA (its a reality by now in 2005). So my suggestion is: don't even consider buying a used one or new ones advertised as clearance model, because you'll be stuck with less than average PDA that you can only use as a shiny toy to impress a 4 year old....

If you don't recharge it, you lose your memory??? What kind of a deal is that for $400, as I paid? Do yourself a favor and buy something better.

It's late August 2004. You shouldn't be considering this PDA, even as a bargain.

It's a great little device. Slim, strong, powerful. Great display. Long battery, by my standards (if I forget where it is for 3 or 4 days, it's still alive when I find it).

If you can get it for 20 bucks, ok, buy it.

Otherwise, the problem is: Toshiba won't support it anymore. By 'not supporting' the e-335, I mean they won't upgrade the OS. You're stuck with what it comes with.

That's neat and all - but Microsoft has had an upgrade out to Windows CE (or whatever they're calling it now) for almost a year. Toshiba told me in an e-mail that, like Compaq iPaq users, or Dell Axim's, or Jornada's....... e-335 won't get an upgrade. Six months between purchase of the device and the new OS and I can't get an upgrade. Not even one I can purchase.

That's annoying. It's 2004. Go shop for a different one.

Not to mention, the thing has an Intel 'X-Scale' processor. It's not a successful standard for a processor and I'm starting to run into compatibility problems.

Good PDA
Got it around my birthday Sept of 2003, Great buy, 2 problems shipping took almost 2 weeks instead of 2 days from NJ to MA, 2nd Battery problems almost 2 months later Toshiba was able to replace but battery problem continued so I gave up. All in all 8 months later and other than battery still loving it. Would buy from seller again. Still the shipping was a bit delayed but it was still a reliable PDA

Great PC, Don't buy from Amazon

Hardware Problems
At first this worked great.Then I started experiencing image problems on the screen.Finally after a little more than a year, the iPAQ stopped working.I was in the middle of updating something when the screen went black and wouldn't change.I charged it although it was fully charged, and then it wouldn't turn off.Still, nothing on screen.Overall, I'm very disappointed.My next handheld will not be an HP.

One should try this
I received iPaq as a birthday gift from my fiance.I know quite well about electronics.
My initial impression was Wow..
The Display/Graphics is extremely pleasing.Navigation is very simple..so any starter who is not very techno savvy can operate this PC with ease.Since the operating system is Windows CE,its very simple to browse thru(as many are familiar with Windows GUI).The best feature ofcourse is Outlook Syncup (must for all Pocket PCs ofcourse) but its easy and quick.The software installation is not too difficult either.The sound quality is good and works great with a Secure Digital card as well.

Now for a few Cons,
The conventional "CROSS" at Top,right hand corner doesnot stand for "Closing" of the program but it means "Minimising" the screen.That leaves your program still running in Backgroud.So even if the display shows your "desktop" (Today screen) there are functions running in backgroud...This will make your PC freeze often if many programs are running.
This PC freezes very often and I have to reset it then.
If it freezes real bad then you will have to Hard reset it which means your data is lost.
So I would suggest that "Stop" all the running programs at certain intervals..You have that option in "Settings".

But overall I am very happy with the performance...
I would advise one to buy it.

Sync problems keep cropping up/no support
I've had mine for 1.5 years, and it's very useful, except for one problem. I can't sync. At all.

At first it synced fine, but after a while, I had occasional problems and would have to spend hours getting it to work, because my comp would not be able to find the device (I've found many reasons for this, and trust me - they are a pain to chase down - even fluff in the connector and an iffy signal to the interface will do the trick). This time, I've spent a week of evenings searching for the solution. When I checked the HP Web site, this item was totally lacking in help, I believe because it is no longer sold. My comp is fine, the device is fine, and the Activesync is there - they just are not speaking. I call this the "family feud PDA" - they are close, they are family - they won't talk.

I've given up on it - bought a Palm-based product for a bit higher cost. So easy, plus it has a camera, an MP3 player, and it syncs!

hp1910 - Nice size, lousy hardware, would not buy again
I've used PDAs for 10+ years and this unit does not compare favorably.Best features: Screen is great, software on the PDA works great.Three biggest drawbacks: 1)Unprotected buttons on front and side lead to inadvertent activation of software and battery drain whenever the unit is touched (think pocket, purse or briefcase), 2) this unit communicates only through synchronization, there is no way to communicate with any other hardware (no GPS, no serial port connection, etc.), and 3) the Microsoft ActiveSync software and/or the interface with this device is buggy (I've had lots of problems that were only recoverable by finding and deleting folders and files on my PC and then starting the connection process from scratch).I would not buy this product again and was very disappointed to uncover the missing serial port capability (not obvious until I got the unit home).

Very useful for the price.
I recieved an HP iPAQ 1915 as a gift at the end of last year, and it's great. The only difference between my 1915 and the 1910 is that the 1915 supports SDIO. But the 1915 is very hard to find, so this is the closet thing to it. If you need Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, this does not have it and a card for that feature will not work without the SDIO slot. So if you need those features, look at higher end models.

I am a big computer person, and this is MY first PDA, although other people in my family have had them, and it's great. One of the things I use mine for is basic organization using the included calander, tasks, contacts, etc. The programs are done very well, the files take up little memory, and it takes little effort to record the info you need. But if you all you need is an organizer, there are much cheaper alternatives. If you use it for more, like me, then read on.

Those tasks don't show this PDA's true cababilities. So what does? Well, games of corse. And I don't mean tetris and solitare. Can you say Nintendo and Gameboy? Yes. If you get one of these, you can get an emulator for it, and it'll play your favorite Nintendo and Gameboy games flawlessly. Of course, to download ROMS, you need to legally own the actal game. But the picture is rich, and there is no lag unless you're multi-tasking or trying to run a more intensive emulator, such as Super Nintendo or Gameboy Advanced, neither of which I have tried. There are many games writen specificly for Windows CE as well, which should run well on it. The display shows all of these beautifully.

It can also play music! Download Windows Media Player from the included CD, and you can listen to WMAs or MP3s on it. Other progams can be downloaded or purchased that can play other formats. I use WinamPAQ to paly 80kbs ogg vorbis files, which maintain CD quality while being smaller than an MP3 file. The sound quality is superb, and under settings and audio, you can adjust the bass and treble. It goes pretty loud, but as any portable music player, heavy bass and high volumes will distort some. But my main complaint comes in here. A 2.5MM HEADPONE JACK. WHY HP!?!?!? This is smaller than most headphone jacks, which are 3.5mm. This means you'll have to use their bad included headpones, or buy and carry around a bulky converter.

An SD chip can be purchased if you plan on putting large programs, music, etc. on your iPAQ. They come in many sizes between 16MB and 4GB. 128MB-512MB should be sufficent for most people.

As far as specs, they are fairly good for the price. The 200Mhz XScale processor can run basic tasks very well, as well as some more complex tasks. But listening to music while doing other stuff can stress out this CPU, and performance will suffer. If you plan on multi-tasking, get a version with a better processor. The 1900 series come with 64MB of RAM, but only 46MB is available for the user because there is only 16MB of Flash ROM. So it requires some essential programs be loaded to RAM. The available 46MB is storage and temporary memory. If you want good performance try to leave at least 1/3 of the memory empty for programs to use temporarily. A slider in the memory setting allows the user to adjust this. But this ammount of memory can store thousands of word and excel documents, tasks, contacts, appoinments, etc.

All-in-all, it should be fast and versitile enough for most people. It is a good comprimise between price and features. And it is one of the smallest PDAs available with a 320x240 display. Those who need to run more intensive programs, have more features, etc. should upgrade to a higher end iPAQ.
