Very nice for your camera to have a fully function home.
This camera port is absolutely perfect for me because it gives me a place to keep it.
But that is just the least of it.While sitting in it's little cradle, it is charging it's batteries and tied directly to the computer.
I love this because you don't have to plug in, and unplug just to connect it to your computer. The same goes for charging. For that matter it's a plus not to have to remove the batteries just to charge them.
I guess I love it because it does everything I need it too by just setting it in it's home.
I must add one more thing, I certainly do like how when you set it in the cradle, my computer opens it up just like a hard drive.
This is a must to whomever owns a PhotoSmart.

This thing took every ounce of effort that makes digital photography a chore. So now I take thousands of pictures.I don't have to worry about charging the batteries, uploding the photos- just shoot and dock. Shoot and dock.That's how digital photography is supposed to be like.

Does NOT work with the HP Photosmart 612 Digital Camera
Despite the Manufacturer's statement that this dock works with the HP Photosmart 612 Digital Camera it flat out does not. I recently checked out the dock (having not had an opportunity since purchasing it several months ago) and no where/no how does it work with the HP Photosmart Camera Dock 8881.......I went to the HP website to be sure and per the HP website, the 612 is NOT on the list of compatible cameras for the 8881 dock.Unfortunately, and lesson to be learned, I TRUSTED what I read on the Amazon page advertising this dock and purchased it as such.Now I am out quite a few bucks and it is probably too late to return it to Amazon (since don't have the packaging now, and the time frame of which it was purchased..... Warning:DON'T trust some things in print.........check it out FIRST through the manufacturer to be absolutely sure.....

a good deal if you don't have a card reader or charger kit
the hp 8881 is compatible with hp's 320, 620, 720, 812, 850 and 945 cameras. each camera comes with a dock insert so that they can use this universal cradle. this cradle is small, lightweight, and very portable. it charges the camera's NiMH battery pack, connects via USB to your computer for downloading files, and connects to a TV for slideshows.

you don't really need this cradle since you can replicate its functions with a card reader, battery recharger kit, and RCA cables to connect to your TV. but it's a lot more convenient to just drop your camera into the cradle to download files and start recharging those batteries....

a final note. this cradle offers a regular usb computer connection. it would have been nice to have usb 2.0 for faster downloads but maybe for the next product iteration.

Problems with Batteries
I was very happy with my HP 850 and its charger base until about two weeks ago.The problem started when my camera would not go on, when I turned the on switch the only thing that would happen was the memory card light would flash about five times. After some time trying to get through to teck support I was told by them that batteries were causing the problem.It seems very silly to me since they were the ones supplied with the charge base.but sure enough when I changed the batteries the camera worked fine. this is the only problem I have had with the camera or the charge base in the six months I have had the camera. ... Wonderful printer
I got this for Christmas, and I love it! I've printed over 150 and still havent even run out of ink! Perfect to take on vacation! fits nicely into a large camera bag or a suitcase. very nice to send good pictures to family also. Im amazed at the quality out of a little printer. I had a larger hp photosmart printer and it was a horrible quailty. i am so happy with this printer.

Awsome LITTLE printer
I purchased this printer for well under 100 dollars, with a free USB cord. I was amazed at the quality of the pictures it printed. The pictures looked like they where done by a pro. Easy to use right out of the box. The best buy I have made in a long time, very satisfied customer.

great bang for the $$$
I was shocked at how well my digital photos came out with this printer. I will use my digital camera more now because of this printer. These photos look as good as regular photos do from a rolled filmed camera. can't say enough about the awsome quality of the photos. I'm using hp high gloss photo paper.

The Ultimate Road Warrior Case
I travel almost every weekend, and have to lug my Toshiba Satellite Pro and Dell DLP Projector with me, along with a change of clothes, toiletries, and other miscellaneous "stuff." Until I found this case, I was making do with a wheeled carry-on suitcase and an over-the-shoulder laptop case.

The Mobile Office holds everything I need and it is much lighter than my suitcase. The telescoping handle is easy to use, and the wheels give this case a smoother ride than my car.

There are four zippered compartments in this case, with lots of pockets and other organizational helps. Here's the lowdown on how I use this case: The projector and cables go in the deep rear compartment, with clothes and misc. in the next compartment. I removed the nylon laptop case and dividers (for files or whatever) and put my laptop in the next zippered compartment. The large laptop (it has a 15" screen) fits easily. The small compartment in the front has several places to hold cell phone, wallet, credit cards and ID, pens, etc.

All this and the case easily stows in the overhead bin on any airplane. (It probably fits under the seat in some, but not most planes.) ... Read more

I just got my P-400 printer.Using XP operating system I found that they have not got a good print driver as yet but will sometime this spring.The print is beautiful.I still have much to learn about lightening the print. It seems to print on the dark side. Big drawback is the 7.64 x10 print rather than 8x10.It just barely covers under a frame and much harder to trim.I would like to know where the viewer from Olympia, WA gets their paper for 19.95 and ribbon for 39.95.Please write and let me know.Does anyone have a good price on these items?I want to keep costs down as I do a lot of printing. I am having trouble getting the USB port to print.It must be something I just don't know.I would not be worried about showing these prints to any customer. creativeimages2@earthlink.net.

Great paper for great photo printer!
Great paper and picture output.... I have just begun using them to replace "traditional" prints and am very satisfied with the prints it makes.Only complaint was no variation yet available in paper types, ie semi-gloss or matte...

Nothing touches it...yet
I just recently purchased the Camedia P-400 printer a few weeks ago and have used it quite a bit. I would have to say it is the best photo printer on the market today. While it doesn't give perfect results (and this depends a lot on your photo image that you print) it comes close. From about 2-3 feet away you can't tell the image came from a printer. Prints beautiful 8x11 photos. I haven't used it with a digital camera yet, but have used it for files off my computer. Timed, it takes about 10-11 minutes to print a photo (color or b&w) and does make some noise (just as a laser jet).

PROS: Great quality photos, nice design, sturdy, easy to set up and use, works with smartmedia cards/pc cards/computer image files (.jpg,.gif etc.), photos instantly dry/no smudges or smears, photo paper quality is excellent

CONS: Only came with 5 sheets of paper and a photo ribbon for 5 prints, no cables provided for hook-up (not a problem if you already own a printer cable), expensive paper and ribbon (costs $1.60 per print)

If you are looking for a great photo printer and want professional looking prints buy this printer (if you can afford it).

I also should add you get 25 glossy photos per pack ($19.99) and the photo ribbon can print 50 photos ($39.99)

Photo Quality with Dye Sublimation
I've used this paper with my A2 printer and the results are amazing. The printer is as close to true dye sublimation as you can get at home. If your looking to make full use of this type of printer you need the best paper for the job. The Olympus photo quality paper is that medium. The color was vibrant and the end result was amazing. One cartridge already half empty?

I just opened a new pack of these and the first cartridge I took out of the two-pack appears already half empty. This was from a sealed plastic carton bought new. I noticed writing on the package of install before AUG 2005 so I have almost a year before they "expire". The indicator was half green and half black so I assume I got a cartridge only half full. Out of curiosity I opened the second cartridge and found that its indicator was entirely green meaning it was OK. So, being that I only got 3/4 of the ink I paid for I have to give it a 1 star.

Don't even think of clicking "used" button!Buy only "NEW"
Don't even think of clicking the "used" button; you'll be sorry.When it comes to so-called "remanufactured" cartridges especially for HP inkjet printers, don't take the chance.The "used" cartridge doesn't last as long, there's a possibility that the cartridge may explode, rendering your printer useless, and probably you'll void the warrenty on the printer.Don't be deceived, buy only "new" for HP printers (especially because the head is in the print cartridge.)Also a note to the Amazon people:Don't show a picture of a twin pack for the "used" product, because that's not what your getting in the mail if you buy it.

the picture shown is not what you get
You really shouldn't show the picture of the genuine HP cartridges when the seller sends you a knock off that doesn't work as well.This is false advertising!You can't show a picture of something and sell something else!And there was nothing said about getting a knock-off product.If you're looking for ink for ur inkjet, don't get it here.. it may be cheap, but it's not the real thing, and it doesn't work well.every few times i print i get these ugly streaks and i have to print over again.

This product is a long lasting cartridge that is very good quality.I use a HP Photosmart 1000 printer.

Good Quality, But Why So Expensive?

On the plus side, HP has improved the design of the cartridges so they do not gum up as bad as they once did. Years ago, I had a HP 660CSE printer, and the cartridges were notorious for gumming up. My current 932C works great with these cartridges.
