Unfortunately this stapler doesn't abide by proper European Stapling Protocol (ESP) standards.However, it is functionally robust when used according to American Stapling Protocol (ASP) standards.It is my feeling that ESP will soon become more prevalent among American companies in the near future, I like to call it the "New Metric."If Swingline doesn't step up to the plate and produce a stapler that follows both ESP and ASP standards, I will be looking for a new tool.

If Kings used staplers, this would be the one
This precision machine is nice.It reminds me of a BMW 3-series.Highly refined yet can withstand the rigors of daily life.The '545 family of staplers never fails to impress. You can expect that the "swing door" on top will never become loose and flail around over time. Also look at the Swingline Red color if you are more exibitionist than I.

Swingline Corp has done an excellent job at ensuring there are no misfires.And the "staple gate" (where individual staples get shot out of the staple body) is milimeters larger than other lesser stapler company models.This increase in width ensures that the dreaded 2-staple jam is practically eliminated
