Inserts are good but...
These inserts are great for those who have burned music from MP3's and wanta way to label their jewel cases so they can tell what CD is in the case when the CD is stored horizontally with other CD's. I just wish Fellowes sold the tray inserts (the ones that you see in the sides and on the back of a CD case) and the booklets (what's in the front of a case)as a seperate package. I always run out of tray inserts before booklets. Getting the print to line up in the spines (and facing the right direction)can be a bit difficult, but that's a (Fellowes) software issue and hence a different product for a different review...

Not exactly what you NEED
This looked like a good product to me, being that I am a perfectionist and love giving CDs to my friends for an extra birthday present. This package comes with inserts for the back cover and a foldable leaflet for the front cover. First off, these inserts are made of a solid thin white cardboard, which is very sturdy. One good thing about the cardboard; it is pre bended and even provides lines edging the leaflet and back. But then for printing reasons its quite terrible, because the ink seems to bleed if you chose a higher print quality. Also, the ink takes quite a long time to dry, and when it is dried sometimes the ink chips! Another thing is when the leaflet is folded, because with all of the ink on the leaflet, it tends to slightly stick together. Bottom line, use high gloss paper for your inserts and not this product! ... Read more

Best I've used
I have a Neato and a couple other types of lablers and this is the only one that real works.The software is simple to use and the labels are almost imposable to messup.The only real problem I have with it is the tabs that hold the label ot the aplicator come off to easy and then it's very hard to get the label straight.

there's better ones out there for less money...
The perforations on these sheets were of pretty low quality, in my opinion--even when taking great care to fold along the lines before separating, it was pretty difficult to not wind up tearing up the paper along the edges.Kind of irritating.The matte surface was fine for printing, and the sizing for fitting into CD cases was all right--but the perforation problem sort of overshadowed all of that.I've had better results with other products.

Great fit
These inserts fit well, and once you obtain the necessary software, are easy to design.The manufacturers website has the design software available as a free download, however even with a cable connection, I was unable to download.They sent me a cd of the software for free, however I was disappointed to have to wait the extra time for the software to arrive.

I love it
I'll admit the program was a little hard to figure out at first, but through some trial and error and a little experimentation, I found it to be fun and easy.I've made about 20 labels so far, and am getting better at it with each one I make.The labels look very professional, and the applicator centers the labels perfectly (it would be next to impossible to put labels on correctly without an applicator).Well worth the money...my CD's look great, and I'm having a lot of fun using it!

Not a good product
I bought this product a week ago, and returned it today.Bad enough that the software was very difficult to figure out (and I have used Photoshop and others), but it just wouldn't print anything on my Epson printer.I thought I must be doing something wrong, but contacted Memorex: their answer was that they knew of the problem, had already talked to Epson, and suggested that I link to Epson UK and download a new printer driver! As if ! Solution: returned the kit and bought Fellowes Neato CD Labeller kit.It works!

Great, wish Amazon sold the refills too...
I've been using this product for well over a year and I love it.I am sort of a designer so I use Freehand to do the layout, and the template is just fine.Don't know why everyone is complaining about it, it worksgreat, and since it loads both ways you don't have to worry about screwingit up.The labels that come in the box are folded which sucks but therefills aren't, so they work just like paper.Love it, use it for nearlyevery CD I make.

The worst computer accessory on the Market
This Memorex Labelmaker is a joke.There should be a law against products like this being sold on the open market.It is virtually impossible to use for the average computer fan. The confusion is overwhelming. I note thatother reviewers are far more knowledgeable than I am, yet they had similarproblems. The print calibration does not work.In trying to align theprinter with correction inputs shown on the vertical and horizontal axisform, it does not come close to aligning the printer. The next time I tryto align the printer I get the same correction inputs even though Ipreviously changed them considerably. The instructions are totallyinsufficient - not enough details. Not enough step by step instructions. Iam going to have to try another brand.

I have had it for over a year
