I like this size for my cards
This is the size that I choose for my quick family-type cards.I like the easy way this card folds up.It's a perfect media for sending a cousin a "pick-her-upper" fun-card.It's also a great media for grandkids because you can do them quick and colorful.No, you won't be competing with Hallmark with this card but because of the ease of putting it together you can have a lot of fun with these.

Adequate for only the most personal of projects
For quarter-fold cards, these are completely adequate.In fact, Amazon's price and low shipping cost means that you'll come out ahead over buying at most retail outlets.

The product's major flaw is precisely that they_are_ quarter-fold cards.You'll rarely find a quarter-fold at a cardshop--especially not made out of heavy card stock--because they're bulkyand impermanent.They're twice as thick as the more standard two-foldcards.And if you can fold them, your recipient can unfold them.Thisdestructability fairly screams "I was made on a computer in someone'shome office."

So why do so many people buy this product?I guessbecause the sheets are the same size as North American letter paper, they"feel" familiar.Maybe, as well, the format is a hold-over fromthe 1980s, when dot matrix printers reigned, and there was no otherconvenient way to make cards but by quad-folding. Almost Perfect
I completely agree with the previous review.While I certainly don't think the cards should be classified as heavyweight (they most definitely are not), the texture is very nice and the printing on them is excellent (I love our Canon i860 printer.If you're shopping around for a new printer, I would highly recommend it).Happy cardmaking!

A Good Deal
These cards are overall a good deal. They work best for invitations, announcements, and other times when you will be doing mass mailings. They are a little too flimsy for my liking for nicer, individual cards, despite Avery advertising them as "heavyweight" on the box. That's the only reason I give them four stars instead of five. Other than that these are great cards; I haven't had problems with smearing or paperjams at all. The cards are scored evenly and fold very easily. The texture is a nice touch, too. ... Read more

Great Paper But There's A More Economical Way...
All the HP card papers are great. But if you make a lot of cards, there is a more economical way, while still getting the great look of glossy cards.I did this for my first photo card, because I had no card paper.Simply buy some high quality 8 1/2 x 11 photo paper--like the HP glossy or the Kodak Ultima. The bigger the pack you buy, the more money you'll be saving.Next, buy some colorful 8 1/2 x11 paper in bold or pastel colors--or both.Print the front of the card on the photo paper.Print the message of the card on a colored sheet that goes well with your card photo.Attach the colored sheet to your photo sheet--in the right direction of course--with either folded or double-sided scotch tape or permanent glue that will not show through the paper.Then, carefully fold in half...and you'll have a beautiful photo card!(To make a quarter fold card, just print all on the glossy photo paper side and fold.)What about envelopes? Okay, if there are any greeting card envelopes here at Amazon, I can't find them!But Office Depot carries Columbian greeting card envelopes in both half fold size and quarter fold size.The ones you'll need for the 8 1/2 x 11 paper is the half fold, and the Office Depot number on that is #317358.They carry them in the stores and online.A box of 100 is less than $10!(Staples apparently also has greeting card envelopes in colors.)As I said, HP card paper is great, and it's the easiest, quickest way to make a card.But if you make a lot of cards, it's just not economical to buy a box of 10 cards and envelopes...not to mention, you have to keep buying box after box!

I Love this Paper
I don't know why hp doesn't put this paper in a larger size.10 envelopes and 10 pages - I want to print all my cards on this paper - everything comes out gorgeous.This paper makes the cards look so professional as if you went to a card shop and bought them yourself.I received a sample of this paper in the mail and immediately bought 3 packs.A Great buy, I just wish there were more to a pack.

Not enough of a good thing
This paper is actually very good.I print on the HP1120C printer and the colours are fantastic on this medium.It is a little expensive and very inconvenient (only 10 to a pack).I have searched but cannot find larger packs.But for printing that card to a special someone, using the right software, this paper makes you look like a professional.Hallmark just might sue! :-) ... Makes Beautiful Cards!
I have made many greeting cards, but I never thought they were up to par with professional cards until I printed them with this paper.I wasn't sure that the textured paper would print well for the pictures, but it turns out very nice.I'm buying 3 more boxes and using this exclusively now.

Nice paper, but not good for complex pictures
I was looking for invitation paper - not for a wedding, but close to it.My invitation includes both a simple cover picture and an inside complex picture.The simple picture prints fine on this paper, but the complex one was disappointing.It took me a while to realize that I needed the coating found on other photo papers.This is a very nice textured heavyweight card, but don't use it for complicated pictures.Both the ridges and the lack of coating will render it useless.The poor-quality picture was a portrait with trees in the background.For text and very simple pictures, a nice choice.It is a shame because it is hard to find nice ivory colored paper.

HP Greetings Are Excellent
I needed to print some wedding invitations, so I was looking for a very high-quality ink-jet card stock. HP to the rescue. The ivory tint and the textured surface lend the perfect hint of elegance, while not being overly expensive. The printed results are excellent. Just the right amount of ink absorption to produce professional results from a high-quality ink-jet printer.
Pros: Heavy stock for excellent feel and presentation, excellent ink absorption characteristics, ivory color for less "bright" results, textured for added elegance. Matching envelopes are included.
Cons: Heavy stock makes paper feeding more difficult on some printers, the pre-scoring is not centered; folds are not perfect halves (unless you prefer the offset fold, of course), HP logo is obvious; make sure you feed the stock in the correct direction or you will have the HP logo competing for attention with your artwork.
Overall this is a superior product and this stock helps produce beautiful results.

Wonderful card stock
Wow, is this wonderful stuff.I've been making all our cards for some time now usually on quarter fold stock.I wanted something more professional looking for this year and based on another review decided to try this paper.What a difference.The card stock is very heavy, with a distinct ivory tone and textured feel.On my printer, this coloration did not cause any distoration in picture colors.I printed a card with several pictures on it and the results were remarkable.I got many compliments from friends & family members on the results.The only difficulty I had was in feeding both the card stock & the envelopes due to my HP 882 printer.The printer is just marginally able to feed this type of heavy stock & required a monitor to sit there and carefully hand tweak to be sure that the printing went well.This is clearly not a failing of this paper, but a caution to other users to watch the feeding.

The best card stock for ink jet printers
Without a doubt, this is the most impressive pre-packaged card stock on the market.I'm not quite sure why it's called "felt textured"--because it's not, really--but it's thick, luxurious stuffall the same.It has the feel of a rougher version of classic laid resumepaper.It has a weight equal or surpassing cards you'd find at Hallmark(tm)--which is highly unusual among ink jet card stocks.Also, the textureis uniquely suited to ink jet printers; it really soaks up thecolors.

The ivory color makes it perhaps unsuitable for realistic photocolors, but it makes it entirely the best choice for taking artisticlicense.

Thickness?
Boy, this card is thin (still thicker than a regular sheet of paper).Nowhere on the package is the gauge (thickness) and if I knew what I know now I probably would not have purchased this.

Printing and seperating the cards was very easy though.

Doesn't seem to agree with all printers...
The clean-edge part of this product is terrific....however, I can't seem to get it to align properly all the way down the sheet.The first 2 or 4 cards are perfectly aligned, but as the printer makes its way down the sheet the image starts to shift and is no longer printing completely on the card.It appears that this has occurred with other people as well.(I am using an HP 970Cse inkjet)I suppose I can pull out my old Lexmark and see if that will work.I'm not ready to give up - this really is a nice looking product - thick cards and clean edges.If you do want to try it, just make sure you are prepared for the fact that it might not work on your printer.

"guaranteed" to work in any inkjet printer? yeah right.
What they really mean is guaranteed that it might work but you have to pay extra to call the tech support #.Some guarantee.The printed cards did not align correctly despite using the correct MSWord template.They recommend their own software which cannot type other languages as Word can.Why should I pay the extra money to call tech support for something "guaranteed" to work?I'm not, I'm just going to return them and buy another brand.

The worst sort of business
I am stunned by Avery. A bit over a year ago, I purchased these cards and made some realy nice business cards out of them. A few months later, I ordered a bunch more and found that they said "new and improved". Uh oh.

I opened them up to find that they were no longer actually linen cards, but paper, textured to look like linen, much as another reviewer has noticed. There was less texture than before and only on one side. They are completely unusable except maybe as novelty cards.

To make things worse, I went to the store to see if I could find some older packages with the original cards. I thought I got lucky and found them, complete with a sample texture card on the front which clearly matched the quality of the old cards. I paid $60 for three packages and brought them home, only to find that the packages contained the "new and improved" cards in them. I have two words for this business practice: FALSE ADVERTISING. The product used for the sample card was not close to what was within the package.

I will not tolerate such a lack of business ethics and I encourage Amazon.com to cease selling these cards. I also encourage others to consider what sort of company Avery is before giving them further business.

This product says "cheap"
Avery is living on its reputation, and like other companies that try this, their reputation is going down fast...

Cards can only be printed one side (no indication of this on box or in literature); also, they had problems w/ink spotting (not printer related).

Disappointed In Quality
I convinced people that I could make business cards for them, and invested in the software and paper.Software worked outstanding, but this paper looked little better than standard copier bond.The thickness is minimal, and the texture is just on one side.I invested in Avery's most expensive product and it came up very short.They need to do much better.

Buyer beware!
If you have used these cards in the past, please be aware that the "new and improved" version, which features the same product code, is like a cheap imitation of the original.

The original Avery Linen cards were great - real linen texture which looked professional. The new ones are not actually linen, but "linen textured", have about half the texture, and are no longer textured on the back of the card. What was once yielded a professional-looking card now looks like it was made by your home printer. I feel ripped-off and would be embarrassed to hand on of these cards to a potential client. ... Avery glossy business cards # 8373
Have wasted almost an entire pack trying to print on my HP Deskjet 3520.HP said the roller isn't accurate in feeding due to the glossy side and there was not a fix yet.Other than to try and feed manually thru printer.Even tho I tweaked software in every program I used;they simply didn't work for me.Think I'll avoid the glossy stuff.

i really like these cards.the only ones I have found for the inkjet printer with edge-to-edge capability.i want to respond to the reviewer who said you can only print to one side.in fact, you can print to both sides.one side is matte and one is glossy.is started off using the glossy side but now prefer the matte.
