The Canon i450 color bubble-jet printer delivers high-quality photos, detailed printing from the Web, crisp text, and exclusive Canon features, all at a great value. It achieves print speeds of up to 18 pages per minute in black and up to 12 ppm in color, along with resolution of up to 4,800 x 1,200 color dpi.

Canon advanced MicroFine Droplet Technology uses a revolutionary nozzle system that ejects consistent, prescribed-volume droplets in microscopic sizes for remarkable print clarity. The i450 printer's newly designed print head produces 5-picoliter and ultra-fine 2-picoliter droplets, producing smooth, photo-realistic images. Your photos, graphics, Web pages, and reports will look clean and professional.

The i450 printer brings you edge-to-edge, true borderless printing, with the look and feel of a traditional photograph. Now you can produce 4-by-6-inch, 5-by-7-inch, or 8.5-by-11-inch borderless prints with stunning quality, perfect for framing or for the scrapbook. With Bubble Jet Direct printing you can print with or without a computer--just connect a compatible Canon digital camera or digital camcorder to your i450 printer and print (see specifications for a list of compatible cameras). Save yourself a trip to the local photo mini-lab--with this printer you can produce great looking 4 x 6-inch prints in approximately 93 seconds.

The i450 printer supports the worldwide standard Exif 2.2 (Exchangeable Image Format File), so when an Exif-compliant camera captures a photo, important camera settings and shooting conditions are saved in the JPEG image file. Canon's exclusive Easy-PhotoPrint software analyzes the recorded data and automatically adjusts printer driver settings for optimum image processing. To eliminate the trial and error of Web-page printing, Canon includes Easy-WebPrint software (Windows only). It's fast and simple--pages print just as they're seen onscreen. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars i450 Canon Printer
Initially worked great but after being unused for about 8 months it no longer prints in greyscale (Black ink).

3-0 out of 5 stars Great while it lasted!!!!
I last used my i450 several months ago when it performed just fine except for the annoying series of groans, moans, and clicks for no apparent reason while it was sitting idle. Then I went north for the summer and this year it refused to print black text despite a new tank and head cleaning operation. Same problem as reported by an ealier review.I suspect that the print head went bad.Am awaiting tech support.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Printer
The printer produces close to professional quality prints. It is very inexpensive to produce those prints, although the cartridges are 10 ml as opposed to the standard 15 ml they are still less than half the cost.I had a lexmark printer before this one and i'll always have a canon. The cartridges are the BCI-24 black $6.00 and BCI-24C Color $18.00.I highly recommend this Printer!

2-0 out of 5 stars Dead after less than a year
This was a great printer...Crisp clear graphics and text. But it just recently started printing "foggy"lots of fuzzy text. Then the black stopped printing altogether. The color printed fine but NO BLACK.Not exactly helpful for printing papers. Canon help desk was very quick getting back to me about the problem.Probably a bad print head, but it should be taken to a fixit shop to get checked out.Fixit shop wants $75 just to look at it, which is applied to the first hour of labor if we have it fixed.Print head runs about $45.I can buy a whole new one for that!I would by a Canon again but definately get the extended warranty.

Buy the comparable ink from Carrot Ink.com.Cost alot less.Refilling doesn't not work with Canon. This was my 2nd Canon and refilling the cartridges didn't work with either.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great printer--would buy it again
This printer does a great job with black text and the occasional color use I've required from it (please note--I have not used this printer for photo printing). It is fast, offers nice quality, and is easy to resupply.

As with almost any printer nowadays, shop around for ink, and consider ink supplies besides the major brand names.

Also, for most jobs, this printer produces acceptable quality when using a Draft mode--unless you get your ink for free, consider doing all but the most important docs in Draft mode.

By the way, setup in Mac X and WinXP was a breeze. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars 'Out of Paper' Errors
I picked this printer because I needed a simple and cheap printer. Realizing that it was cheap, I wasn't expecting or asking for much from it. Yet I got so, so much less.

The most infuriating problem with it is that the paper feed simply does not work correctly. I've attempted to find many workarounds but there is simply no other option than to manually hand feed each page to the printer as it is printing. When I leave a large stack of paper in the tray, the printer constantly alerts me that it is out of paper. Then I have to take a single page and manually push it into the printer for it to accept the page and print it. Repeat X number of times for X pages. It's fun....

Anyway, this experience has completely turned me away from buying HP products. I bought a bottom of the barrel printer and found that a Lexmark bottom of the barrel is vastly superior to HP's bottom of the barrel.

1-0 out of 5 stars Glad it is being discontinued, didn't last past 6 months

I am glad there will be no more victims of this printer. Although the printer prints exceptionally well for the price and has a wonderful light weight feel to it, there is a strong chance it won't last you 6 months even with minimal usage. Many people complain the printer broke on them, this and the similar light weight models. It seems a little piece inside of the printer wears and breaks off in no time. These printers are said to have a "light weight technology" more like cheap plastic technology to me. I went through 2 of these printers and similar in one year, first the 3420 and then the 3320 which did the same thing in less than 6 months. I don't do much printing and reading these reviews I realized it's not the users fault. HP is a great brand when it comes to printers, however, I suggest you go with a much higher up printer that will give you your monies worth.

1-0 out of 5 stars Trashed & Forgotten within 6-Months, Drink INK to Last Gasp!
Aside from HP Computers--practically anyone is probably imagining their next system...of entirely different make, or indpendent and constructed to personal need and taste.

Accordingly, hp deskjet 3320 (as noted in probably most reviews) uses 'heavily'...'drinks'...'gulps'...'sucks as an ultimate ferocious perfect natural vacuum and/or Black Hole'..!

In all in every conceivable way, it 'sucks' all things, and it's trash within a year if that.Since hp ever marketed this, run screaming and flailing to Canon or EVEN Lexmark...hp 3320 (and hp!) is just that bad for quality and economy that can even last beyond 6-months!Buy only for several $ in a flea-market!(When/If you DO use this printer, watch in amazement as it gasps/gulps/engulfs any ink cartridge dramatically per any/all prints!) This item sucks so very bad...~!; P

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT DEAL
I bought this printer about 8 months ago and I haven't had any problems with it yet.It works pretty well with XP, and the picture quality is decent if you don't plan to sell your pics. I was really surprised to see all the negative reviews.Got a great printer at a great price.

1-0 out of 5 stars DON'T BUY THIS PRINTER !!!
This is not an HP printer as you remember them. This is poorly built and will fail as soon as it's out of warrantee. As a matter of fact, mine warrantee was only 6 months.

4-0 out of 5 stars Neat little unit
For the price, size and quality its more novelty than serious printer, but its a good sort of novelty.

Pictures are small, but are on par with any other polaroid style camera. Good for scrapbooking, or checking images off LCD for digicams etc.

I bought mine in the hope it'd work with my P800 cell phones infrared, it didn't. Works fine with my nikon coolpix though.

The manual in mine says shoulderstrap included, however on the box it says it isn't,and it wasn't, not really a big deal though.

Haven't had a chance to see how easy it is to pickup film yet, but given its compatible with the joycam it should be reasonable easy.

The interface is ok, its a little terse but once you see where they were going its perfectly acceptable.

Prints come out fast, take a little while to appear.

5-0 out of 5 stars Compatibility
I want to know if this product id compatible with the Fujifilm FinePix A303 3MP Digital Camera w/ 3x Optical Zoom

Please let me know.

1-0 out of 5 stars Ripped off by Amazon
I bought this when they promised a $25 rebate... the rebate never came and the company promising the rebate will not respond.. amazon denies any responsibility, so they effectively baited with a non-existent rebate... don't buy from amazon if you're figuring rebates as part of the price....

1-0 out of 5 stars It's true: large-capacity SM Cards don't work
This printer does not work with 64MB and 128MB Smart Media cards.I verified this on the Polaroid website (deeply buried, of course!)

5-0 out of 5 stars What a gadget!
The P-500IR is a stand-alone printer that outputs digital images onto P-500 Joycam instant film. It's "stand-alone" in that it doesn't have any direct connectivity to a computer, and it takes images from CompactFlash or SmartMedia cards (the latter requiring an included adapter).Since there is no preview screen on the unit (the thing runs on the embedded P500 film pack battery, so you only need to feed the thing film), you have to kinda guess which photo you're about to print.I've been taking the somewhat roundabout route of dumping the files from my digital camera onto the hard drive, tweaking and cropping with Photoshop, and then copying select files onto a CF card, which then is inserted into the P-500IR to be printed.

Output quality is pretty good, considering that it's instant film. The image size is pretty small, but it does create some unique "hard" artefacts of digital images.I think this printer would have been a questionable investment at its original price; however, with the discount, I suspect the folks at Polaroid are going to get their money back (and then some) on the film! The five stars are given specifically for the discounted price. This printer is a "must have" gadget at that price! ... 3-0 out of 5 stars When it's dead, it's dead for good.
It is an OK printer while it is working. But when all three control lights start blinking (without any reasonable introduction), you should pretty much give up all your trouble shooting efforts. The "Help" section is worthless, just as the "Basics Guide" booklet. The bubble from the utility bar keeps referring to a craddle blockage that is simply not there...Would you wanna waste hours on the phone to get to technical assistance? The only reason I even remotely consider buying another HP printer, because now I am stuck with all the refill cartridges...

3-0 out of 5 stars HP 7150
My HP 7150 prints nice photographs. The quality is very good, but I have had a lot of difficulty getting 4x6 sizes of paper to feed properly.

Also, business letters are important to me and I can't get envelopes to feed properly.

It has been frustrating not having availability of free customer service.

I will probably replace this unit with an Epson in the near future.

5-0 out of 5 stars See my earlier review

I reviewed this product on October 19th, last year. It has been six months now, and the printer is still operating flawlessly. It feeds well, prints great color pictures, and I am completely pleased with it.

If only HP would make one a little faster, with the same quality.

5-0 out of 5 stars stylish, stunning, very reliable
I had a canon s520 but i sold it because it went bad and I needed to replace the head which costed more than the printer. I'm glad i got the photosmart 7150. its so much better. the prints come out soo good on 4x6 using the photo tank. also i found out hp ink tanks come with heads on them so you'll get a good printing everytime. the ink tanks might cost a bit more but if you put your quality in the settings to like "draft" or "everyday" printing then you'll save a lot of money. go buy this!! its very affordable too.

4-0 out of 5 stars good, but not exellent
I bought HP 7150 a week ago, and so far it's been running well. I saw severl reviews on the paper feeding problem of this printer, but so far it's not with me. As to the photo quality, I should say, it performs very good in colors and resolutions, but not in color shades. So if you want sth not that expansive for your ordinary photo printing, you can check this model out. One big thing I don't like about it (although I have prepared well for this problem) is that it's extremely ink consuming! Everybody has told me about it, but I was still surprised at the quick decreasing ink level (shown in the software) when printing photos! ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful WHEN IT WORKED!
I purchased the d145 in January 2003; approximately two months after the one year anniversary of the purchase (and the end of the warranty period), it ceased to function.Having owned at one time or another : a Lexmark X73, a Compaq bubble jet BJC-600and a Brother laser MFC 4550, and NEVER having had a problem with any of them more serious than a paper jam, I suppose I was defying the odds when I elected not to purchase the warranty upgrade.I thought HP was just a reliable as some of the others; now other wiser individualstell me they have faced similar problems with HP, namelybreakdown of one part or another just after warranty expires.

Specifically, whether from a computer copy or from the copy function itself, it became impossible to complete anything without the message "Scanner System Failure"appearing as the machine shut down. For a time I was able to trick it in to making a single copy by shutting it down, then turning it back on fast. However, soon even that "trick" no longer worked. Of course, all the troubleshooting hints failed as well. At one point I even thought perhaps the room was too cool for the printer and went so far as to swaddle it in blankets! That generated two copies!!

I finally got around to calling about printer repairs, having pressed the Brother back into action, but the answer is almost universal, that for an ink jet it is usually cheaper to buy a new one than to repair an old one.A laser printer is far easier to repair, I am told, as the parts are easier to access.

My advice, if you want to buy the hp d145 do so ( it WAS wonderful when it worked), but protect your investment, buy the extended warranty.

1-0 out of 5 stars danger will robinson!!!!
this is a terrible machine. it is the noisiest piece of equipment we have ever purchased. it eats toner. it feeds paper 2, 3, 4 or more pieces at a time, especially if copying on reverse side. it goes thru so many motions to print one copy that you almost forget what you were there for. when working from computer it reduces copy to one tiny corner of paper for no reason, in the middle of a run. it is a piece of junk and we will replace it as soon as we can get over the 500 bucks we were ripped off. the only guarantee we can give is that we will NEVER buy an hp item again!

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor reliability: a clunker
I bought one of these expecting it to be a reliable machine designed to last heavy use. Even though I only use it lightly, the print and scan carriages often crash, the print heads come loose and are marked as bad, the windows USB drivers don't survive hibernation properly, and the thing starts flashing all lights and demands to be rebooted half way through a print. If it was still under guarantee I'd take it back. Even now I'm thinking of buying a replacement as I need to get a new cartridge (and that is a significant percentage of the price of a replacement) Oh yeah. Buy a printer with separate cartridges for each colour. You always run out of one particular colour first, so why throw away the rest?

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst product to work on macintosh
I bought D145 a year ago anddespite rares drivers update it's still using 25-50% off CPU even when not printing, i can't scan and it's so slow to print. Don't buy HP product for mac !

1-0 out of 5 stars Ink RipOff
I should have done more research into HP printer cartridges before I invested in this MFC.I run a small business and need a reliable, cost-effective printer. In order to save a significant amount of money, I use refilled cartridges.HP has put a time bomb in its cartidges by setting an expiration date on the cartidge.Even if the cartridge is still full!It totally stops working with no override available (there is an override for the ink level for refilled cartridges).Thier explanation for this is to protect us from degraded ink...The real reason is to force you to purchase expensive new ink cartidges at regular intervals whether you need them or not.It is interesting that they only do this on business oriented machines and not on the cheaper consumer models. The cheap machines must not need the "protection" from a degraded ink.I guess if ink costs per page is not an issue and having a ready supply of recently purchased ink cartriges on hand is within your budget, then this is the unit for you.

This thing is history! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Great for text, but not for photos
This is a good printer for regular print jobs, but it does not print to photo quality. If you don't print photos from a digital camera or if you are not concerned about photo quality then this is the printer for you. It is a cheap, easy to install printer that will handle your daily print duties, but photos are pixellated and off-colour.

1-0 out of 5 stars worst printer ever

Ok, it's not very expensive. But it is still a complete waste of money. I'm so tired of page after page of lines smudged into complete illegibility. It's not even good for printing rough drafts (the reason I bought it). I'm throwing this printer in the garbage and buying something (anything) else. A 20-year-old dot-matrix printer would be an improvement.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not the fastest printer I've ever used...
But for the money, it probably can't be beat. I've had bad results using non-Lexmark printer cartidges, though. And, aside from the sheer wastefullness, at the price these printers go for new, it's cheaper to buy another whole printer (along with the ink cartidges it comes with) than to spend the extra $10 to buy just the ink cartidges all by themselves!

1-0 out of 5 stars WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN HORSE DROPPINGS.
PRINTED OUT FOUR (4) PAGES AND QUIT ON ACCOUNT OF REQUIRING A NEW COLOR INK CARTRIDGE.HEY FOLKS, IT IS BRAND NEW!THE PRINTERLASTED ALL OF TEN(10) MINUTES.TWO HOURS OF SCREWING AROUND WITH THE INK AND ZERO (0) TECH SUPPORT SENT THIS PILE OF MANURE TO THE DUMPSTER.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for text!
When the Epson Photo 820 (read the bad reviews; they're all true), instead of just using tons of ink when I cleaned the heads (needed often), started leaving streaks of black ink across the page, I tried to get some help from Epson's customer service.I found that a wasted effort. They must have known what the problem was (I've since figured it out from other Web sites), but refused to tell me other than to tell me to clean the heads or take it in for service.I remembered the wonderful little Lexmark that came with my iMac several years ago and how reliable it was, and I wound up buying this printer. It's wonderful!Fact is, I'm in school and don't print photos.I hate that Epson, which you can't run without both black and color inks, even if you just plan to print text. The Lexmark will run with just black ink.It does a wonderful job on text.If your primary need of a printer is text, you can't go wrong with this wonderful little printer. ... Amazon.com Product Description

Forget having your digital photos printed by someone else. With the PhotoSmart 100 inkjet printer, you can print full-color 4-by-6-inch photos at up to 2,400 x 1,200 dpi on premium photo paper, or at lower resolutions (but still great-looking) on other papers.

Print directly from your digital camera with a CompactFlash, SmartMedia, or Sony Memory Stick memory card, or connect to your computer using the built-in USB port. HP photo imaging software is included. Printing is a bit slow, with a 4-by-6 photo requiring just under three minutes, but quality takes time.

The printer has a markedly compact design, with dimensions of only 8.8 by 4.3 by 4.7 inches, and it weighs less than three pounds, so you can take it with you when you're on the go. Sorry, Mac users, the HP 100 is only compatible with PCs: Windows 98, 2000 Professional, Me, XP Home, and XP Professional. The printer is backed by a one-year warranty, with the option to extend it to three years at additional cost. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars initially look awesome. but it fades over time.
love the compactness and stylish look of this printer.
initial quality of the print out is comparable to regular photo prints or perhaps even better. compact flash drive built in is absolutely convinient.

However...after putting print picture on my friz door for 2 month. skin tone color has changed to completely green and other colors faded to dark purple. it wasn't exposed to direct sunlight neither. other pictures all suffered discoloration after 2 month. even the ones that were kept well in a frame. it was all printed on premiere papers that came with the printer.

is this the limitation of inkjet technology everyone already aknowledged prior to purchasing? or am I the only one suffering from discolorization and fade?

4-0 out of 5 stars Produces great pictures, but be careful about handling them
The picture quality is supreme, and no complaints about the printer overall, except for the ink door, which won't stay shut.

The photopaper used on this printer, however, can be easily damaged, so care must be taken on handling it after your pictures are printed.Perhaps I'll find a 3rd party paper, or HP will improve theirs.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Printer
I've this printer for about 4 months now. I love it. I also have an HP880c for our regular everyday printing. We also use that printer for pictures, but the clarity and ease of use is nothing compared to the HP PhotoSmart 100.At my cousins baptism we printed pictures from 3 different digital camera's (Canon, Sony, and Fuji). Everyone was impressed with the ease of use, how quick it printed and how good the pictures look.

It only prints wallet, 3x5 and 4x6 pictures, however, we really don't print many 5x7's or larger. If we do I just use our other printer.

If you have a digital camera this is a great printer to go along with it. Shop around and you can find a great price too.

5-0 out of 5 stars Digital DarkRoom
With the Olympus CamMedia software that comes with most Olympus digital cameras and the HP100 printer you can create photographic quality prints that are a better quality (and easier!) than a traditional darkroom.I use an Olympus 2.1 megapixel camera and I have gone through several packs of 60 count 4 X 6 inch paper;I am delighted with the results from this printer. If you want a bordered print use the 4X6 inch size; if you want the borderless print, use the 4 X 6 1/2 inch paper size. You won't be disappointed with this printer.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT
