4-0 out of 5 stars Go to Canon USA's Website for Drivers!
This is a good quality printer with 2 major restrictions.First, the printer, printer paper & cartridge packs, and additional paper trays for labels and such are expensive.Second, the largest it prints is 4"x6".

A number of earlier reviewers commented on how difficult it was to print from the computer.Expect setup to take about an hour if everything goes right.Printing from the computer requires a USB printer cable, which doesn't come either with the printer or with Canon digital cameras. But if you dig through the stuff that came with your computer, you might find one.Otherwise you can either buy one or DirectPrint from your camera by connecting your camera to the printer with the same cable that connects your camera to your computer.

The CD that comes with the printer is useless. The ZoomBrowser EX that's on it is outdated, and the driver that allows your computer to interface with the printer isn't digitally signed. But all you have to do is go to Canon USA's website, and look for the consumer support page and find the CP-200.Canon provides current versions of ZoomBrowser and other software and drivers for whatever version of Windows or Mac OS you use.Download what you need, unzip the files you've downloaded, then go to your computer's Add A Printer and specify the location to which you unzipped the driver. Then the printer installs.

Printing from Zoombrowser is extremely simple. You may not need directions, but if you do, Canon's website has a pdf file which takes you screen by screen through printing.

Some reviewers said borderless printing distorted their pictures, but the current version of ZoomBrowser crops photos instead of stretching them.If you don't want edges cropped, print with a border.

Printing is fun to watch; the colors go by layer by layer.Aparently the picture stands up to a lot once it's dry, but I didn't test it.

The supplies for this printer aren't cheap.Your drugstore and Ofoto print at about half the price. If you want to print entire albums, this may not be worthwhile. However, if you only need an occasional picture, it's incredibly convenient not to have to go out, and the prints are very good. Then when you're not printing, the printer can go in a drawer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Spectacular results
For me (Windows XP Home edition), everything worked perfectly out of the box.Within 15 min of opening the box, I had pictures that easily beat the 1 hour photo machines in both detail and color.(I have a 6mp DSLR.)I used an SD card reader to transfer files from the camera to the computer, then used the Microsoft print wizard in MS Photo Manager to quickly size and send the print. This is a great tool to have for getting beautiful snapshots quickly. It is a little pricey as noted in earlier reviews because special paper and dye-sub materials are required but the quality easily beats my Epson C84 IJ and Lexmark Z805 IJ.I will probably use one of the on-line services for bulk printing because they are much cheaper but I always have the capability for something right away when I want it.

4-0 out of 5 stars It can be fast.
I used this printer with my Digital Rebel. It fed the paper almost immediately and started the printing process.Photos were done quickly.I find it valuable when visiting friends and family.I am able to leave photographic memories immediately. As for the price of photos, I don't print every photo that I take, only ones that I can't wait to print before I get home on my computer. This is definitely a nice little tool that can even be put in your camera bag.Don't expect to find cheaper replacement ribbons on the third party printer cartridge sites.

5-0 out of 5 stars convenience vs. price
so what if you pay a little more for the prints?!! i usually have get togethers on the weekends and for the convenience of sending a photo home with my guests, it sure is worth it!! my guests don't have to wait UNTIL to receive a copy of the photos taken!! for just regular prints, i take in for developing, cd, or connect my canon powershot to the computer and print there. the manual says that an ink cartridge must be replaced with each new pack of paper. so, i plan ahead. people, quit complaining about a simple inconvenience!! we live in america, do you really have anything legitimate to complain about?? but i digress. this little printer is sure handy dandy!! i received both for my bday!! ( we upgraded technologically this year ) VERY COOL!! LOVE IT!! have had no trouble whatsoever!! ENJOY!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Love this little toy!!!
We bought this to go with us on vacation.thought it would be more fun for the kids to send postcards home that actually had them in the picture. We love this.We did have to search a bit to find the creditcard size paper tray (this add on was about 13 bucks).the pic quality is SOOO much nicer than than an inkjet. It is fun to watch it layer the colors and end up with a picture.I thought we would like it but was surprised at how very much fun it is (really fun with a bunch of drunk girlfriends!!!).Yes, there are cheaper ways to get pictures, but we really like how immediate it is.We use it with a canon A75. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars mechanism error after 13 months
The printer has been moderately used for black and white prints, and after 13 months it encounters a mechanism error, not printing at all. It is not worth fixing it, but buying a new one. Quality of prints was good, but life of the printer very short.

1-0 out of 5 stars terrible service
My wife and I wasted hours and hours trying to get HP service. HP has outsourced customer service to several developing countries, and each time we called, the representatives were unable to locate the record of our previous call. We were told time and again that we would be contacted by a "case manager" but that never happened. After weeks of trying, it became obvious that we need to discard the product (still under warrantee) and buy a new (non-HP) product ourselves.

1-0 out of 5 stars Lopsided Product
The Deskjet 3650 is good for general text printouts using a word processor on plain paper. It fails miserably on doing special tasks like printing sheet labels and the like. I've wasted tons of hours re-aligning my layouts just to print right -- and even then, this printer doesn't offset properly. If you're looking for a general text printer that's affordable and you don't do specialized printing often or can afford to waste time re-adjusting layouts, get this one. If you're busy and have about a 50% need for special formats like envelopes and labels, get something else. My old Deskjet 810c performs 100 times better than this junk.

1-0 out of 5 stars No longevity
I purchased this printer over a year ago and it started out as a hardy little machine. As a student, I print out lecture notes daily and average 200+ pages each week.Like other reviewers have noted, I quickly discovered that my toner cartridges had to be replaced far too often at too high of a cost.Still, I managed to cut costs by printing everything in B/W and in draft form as well as utilitizing a universal inkjet refilling system (which is very easy to use and saved tons of money).I thought my problems were solved until this year when the HP deskjet became THE BANE OF MY EXISTANCE.

My printing needs remain about the same but my printer now EATS PAPER.Literally.I have probably wasted three whole trees of wasted paper in paper jams.To remedy the situation, I have tried to alter the settings - switching from fast to normal draft forms (and slowing the feed mechanism). This worked for a day but the printer quickly returned to its typical hungry self.I have also switched to higher quality paper - but the printer seems to like feed on that just as much.On average, the printer jams every 3 pages and takes 30 sec. to restart after each jam clearance. What should take 5-10 min of printing each day has turned into a 1.5-2 hour nightmare.

Unfortunately, all of my problems started as soon as the warranty ran out.It is like the printer knows when to taunt me.

I am giving up and purchasing a laser printer. The slightly lower costs of this inkjet are surely not worth it.

To be fair, I have never used it to print photos or to print color images.I should have also realized before purchasing this printer that it would not satisfy my bulk printing needs. But beware! You might like the printer at first and then it turns on you like a conniving monster within a mere year.

4-0 out of 5 stars Does work with Mac!
I own this printer, and use it every day with Mac OS X 10.3.6. It does a great job, and I have had no problems whatsoever -- unlike with every Epson I have ever owned. I love this printer -- its at a great price point, and makes fine prints. Not great, photo-quality prints, but good ones nevertheless. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Great Quality but wastes a ton of Ink
I have had this little baby for over 1 year now and have no complaints what so ever about the print quality.
For a little printer, the quality is stunning.
I also bought the battery pack so printing on the go from a laptop is simple. The battery pack has provided more than enough life, lasting more than my laptop's battery.

The one complaint: very poor Mac OS X software. I mean very poor.Mac users aren't used to being asked to confirm dumb questions multiple times like PC users are.

For example, there are 2 menu options to access settings regarding the ink levels and neither of them are clear.
If you choose: Ink Level Information why should you have to click 'update?' Shouldn't the software update the information before displaying it?This is like one of those annoying PC Wizards that ask you the same question multiple times.
The other choice regarding ink is "Remaining ink level setting'
Unfortunately you have to reset the ink level settings manually...a major annoyance and inconvenience. This is done by clicking the obvious Ink Counter Rest Button in the Remaining ink level setting screen. But why is there a Remaining Ink Level Indicator Setting button? There is another menu option that displays the current ink level so what's this for? Whatever it does, it sends some message to the printer. Maybe an ink level setting reset? If so, then shouldn't the other button have done it already? Are you getting confused? see what I mean!?
Who knows. It is just stupid and confusing.
The ink level indicators are almost never right anyway, so be prepared to have tochange ink cartriges in a trial and error fashion when your print quality doesn't seem right.

As a matter of fact, when there is something wrong with your print quality, don't expect the Print Utility to be much help at all.
For example, Whenyou choose "Cleaning" there is a button that says -Cleaning: Starts print head cleaning.' What do you think will happen when you click this?
Nope.It gives you an option with check boxes: All Colors, Black, or Color. then an 'OK' button. So you have chosen the colors you want to clean and click 'ok' so what do you think will happen now?
Instead of the printer beginning to clean the heads, you are given an alert box that Asks "Clean the Print Head?" and you have to click 'OK' again.

Geeez..... talk about annoying!Just clean the damn heads already!!!! The softweare doesn't seem to know it was written for Mac OS X and not Windows.

It's a shame the software is soooo bad, because this is otherwise a really great printer.

If you get this printer, you will love the photos, but be prepared to spend a lot of $$ on ink and get a little frustrated when you need to use the utility.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little printer
I've had this printer for 9 months and its been great.2 complaints:it runs out of ink quickly and the ink for this printer is expensive; 2) there is no paper catch.

5-0 out of 5 stars Small Printer-Big Success
I needed a small portable printer for my laptop, and after researching them, I chose the Canon i70. It has all of the attributes I needed-lightweight,super easy to use, fast as the office rumor mill, and a great print job. I highly recommend this product to anyone fortunate enough to have purchased it.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Purchases I have Made
I don't usually write reviews, but have to for this. It prints black text fast as anything. I do a lot of heavy printing and am still on both of my cartridges since I purchased it about a month ago. The one thing that I was worried about was printing pictures. I use glossy photo paper for pictures and they turn out great. It is small, portable and as good as a full size printer. I have recommended this printer to everyone. It is more than I could have asked for in a printer this size.

5-0 out of 5 stars This Printer is Fantastic!
This TINY printer is amazing. Its whisper quiet, fast, and prints with exceptional quality (both photos and documents in color and B/W). I have no complaints whatsoever. Also, you can start printing virtually immediately after taking it out of the box - easy with USB cable. I highly recommend this printer to anyone. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Epsom is a disreputable company
Read Mark Whitney's review again (Hollywood,Ca.) he says it well. I'd like to send a copy of that to the CEO of EPSOM because his letter says it all. Epsom should be ashamed, but what do they care, their greed for $$ is more important than customer service. I had a C 62 Epsom Printer for 4 months. When it broke I called customer service. I have never heard such a display of incompetence and rudeness. My advice is don't deal with this company or their products. They are disreputable. D. LakeMaine

2-0 out of 5 stars Would not recommend
I bought this printer two years ago and it seemed noisy and erratic from the beginning. The cartridges seemed to run out very fast and were quite expensive. Now I will be buying a new printer as it has a hardware problem that is not worth fixing.

I would recommend spending the extra money for a better printer. You will avoid chasing good money after bad later on.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not a good long-term buy.
I received my Epson Stylus C62 as a present about two years ago. I was fairly pleased with the printer, and I have to say that for someone who doesn't go through a heck of a lot of ink, and isn't extremely particular about printout quality, it isn't the worst piece of equipment I've used. However, today, not even two years later, I'm having to gear up to throw this piece of equipment away. The clogging printer heads have finally brought any hope I have in using it to an end. I have had the same bad experiences as everyone else who has given poor reviews about this product - very overpriced ink cartridges, and an ongoing, eventually un-fixable clog issue that has you shelling out the bucks for nothing. The first signs come in when your repeated, incessant cleaning of the printer heads no longer remedies the banding or smearing... give up the ghost and don't fall for the 'just but new cartridges' advice that I was silly enough to take.

The one who bought me the printer just Googled to check for any solutions to my issues, and read the dozens of the same complaints from others. He has said that if he'd read any of it previously, he would never have purchased the printer, So, if you're looking for a printer that will continue providing consistent quality after a couple of years, steer absolutely clear of this one, folks! Even if the overall price for the printer is low, I have to say that this is one case where you really get what you pay for... (in everything but ink!)

3-0 out of 5 stars a bargain for me
About a year ago,our Best Buy had these for $39 each. This included the ink cartridges that come with the new printer. When I asked the salesman why the cheap price--less than the value of the ink cartridges alone--she wasn't sure but thought it was because they were being discontinued at Best Buy. I bought three of them.

I like Epson products for photo printing, and this one,in spite of its low price, produces good photo-quality results. The only problem, which would have bothered me a lot if I hadn't gotten the printers free, has been the frequently recurring need to do the nozzle cleaning procedure--more often than with models I've previously owned. But at this price, who's complaining. I was amazed to see that the currently listed price is as high as it is,and really thought it was a discontinued model by now.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not a reliable printer!!
Along with the previous reviews, I am unsastified with the quality with this printer. WARNING: this printer will not print if the COLOR cartridge runs out (even if you still have a full cartridge of black ink)!!

    Pros: Nice design, compact,

Cons: The start-up time it takes is slow, the printing proccess is average/slow, consumes a lot of ink, printing quality is average, ... Read more

The first thing I noticed about this printer was the incredibly noisy paper feeder. The first time I printed I thought that I had not unpacked it entirely.

Setting that aside the printer seemed to do a pretty good job until it was about a year old.At that time it simply stopped working.I spent money to buy new ink cartridges but to no avail. Finally I called Epson and they agreed to send me a new printer and asked me to return the old one.

In about another eight months the second printer died.Coincidentally (or not) right at the time the ink cartridge was empty.Since I already had purchased spare ink I followed the instructions to replace the cartridge only to find that it would still not print.

I used a Q-tip to try and clean the nozzle but it did not good. At that point I decided to look for a new printer. When I checked Amazon on this printer I was relieved (in a way) to find out that I was not alone in my troubles.

This is now my third Epson printer that has died this way.You can be sure it will be my last.I will never, never buy another Epson product.

Let me sum my feelings up like this.Today is the first day above 50 degrees in the north eastern US since making it through the long, cold, snowy winter. The fact that I have chosen to spend even a moment of this day trying to warn others away from this product should speak volumes.

2-0 out of 5 stars Great until it dies
Works very well until it dies in under 18 months.Epson customer service is of no help after the warranty expires.I will not buy an Epson printer again - just purchased a Canon.

1-0 out of 5 stars Only Lasted 18 Months
Heads clogged up. Tried the cleaning cycle several times and new expensive ink cartridges. Didn't work. Called Epson, Tech support on the phone after warranty expires is $9.95. Sent them an e-mail explaining the problem and what I had done .... their reply >>> 'try the cleaning cycle and/or new ink cartridges'! That's it Epson, I'm going with a HP laserjet.

1-0 out of 5 stars QTips Don't Always Work.
Junk. It gave me good pics when it worked but now after a year and a hald of moderate to light usage the ink nozzles are clogged, regular maitenance won't help and the Qtips don't do the trick either. From the testimonial's I've read this printer has a habit of going on the fritz after the year warranty runs out. I guess I'll need to give my business back to HP.

1-0 out of 5 stars The printer and service is GARBAGE
I wish I read the comments before purchasing this printer about a year ago.I also have clogged printer head.I tried calling technical support, but they charge 9.95 if the printer is not in warranty.Mine is a little over a year.My blue and black ink does not print on paper anymore and cleaned the nozzle about 100 times and it does not change. It just eats up the ink (which I thought was the problem). What kind of company charges for technical support? This just shows that they have no faith in their own products and that is how they make money. It was a waste of money to purchase this printer.I will never buy Epson products again! If I can give it a negative star, then I would ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Goodbye inkjet photo prints
I've gone through a number of HP inkjet photo printers.Printing my own photos was somewhat of a novelty, but I had to concede that none rivaled prints done at a photo lab. Finally after struggling with ink costs, paper costs, and less than impressive print quality, I started to use, I got the bug again and invested in the CP-220.This little unit puts all of the other ones that I've owned (three HP printers) to shame.Durable prints, great color, compact design, PictBridge, etc. make this printer a hands down winner!

To those of you that travel and would like to bring your printer with you, consider the CP-300... same printer, but comes with a Li-Ion battery pack so you don't need AC power.

3-0 out of 5 stars Incompatible with HP Photosmart Software
I ran into a problem where the paper type selection was unavailble.Canon technical support was less than helpful.I figured out that the HP Photosmart software that's installed for my HP P1000 printer was causing the problem. After I exited the HP software in the system tray, the Canon printer began working fine.Canon's response was sometimes software is incompatible.I've found several reports on the web with people having the same problem, so Canon should know about it.The only reason I'm rating it as a 3 is because the picture quality when it actually prints from the PC is excellent. The results weren't quite as good printing directly from a Canon S200 camera; the picture wasn't as sharp.

1-0 out of 5 stars Good quality photos, but--
These Canon card printers do a fine job if you are printing directly from the camera -- or it is the only printer you own if trying to print from your computer.I bought the printer to do snapshots, while I own several other printers for documents and larger photographs.Even if you only have Adobe Acrobat on your system, the printer will not work. It is useless to me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Printer, but........
I have had this portable printer only a few days, and have only printed 18 prints on it so far, all on the Card Size photo paper. These little pictures are really neat, and will be a conversation item at family gatherings, I'm sure. The color you get is phenomenal, as true as any photo coloring I have ever seen, even on commercially developed film. My only complaint with it is that is is not easy for me to use.Evidently others have not had this problem, if what I have read in the other "Customer Reviews" is correct.Perhaps that is because all the others appear to be men who have written the reports and I am a female and perhaps not as "technical savvy" as the guys, as well as being older than most, if not all, of them, since I am a great grandmother, and my generation wasn't exposed to electronic technology at an early age and we did not grow up with a lot of electronic gadgets, but I love them, all the same!
I hooked my Canon G5 camera to the printer, as per instructions, and had no problems there, (I had my dear husband's assistance with all the cables) and got the ink cartridge and paper tray loaded into the printer with no trouble, but my problem started when I got to the point of sending instructions from the camera to the printer.I did get it done, obviously, since I printed 18 pictures, but sending the correct message to the printer didn't always work correctly!I got nine prints of a photo that I didn't even know that I had asked for!I had not chosen that particular image to print, yet it kept pumping them out! By fiddling with the controls on the camera I was able to print a few photos that I did choose, but the Menu on my Canon G5 does not make it simple. You don't choose any of it on the actual printer, other than what size photos you want and that is determined by the size photo paper that you load into it, everything else is done with the Menu screen on your camera. I have three other digital cameras, but only one of a Canon Digital Camera.I am not sure if I am going to be able to use the other cameras, an Olympus Stylus 300, the Minolta Dimage 7i or the Gateway T50 with this printer or not.I hope that I will be able to, but I don't think they have the "PictBridge" feature that newer digital cameras are equipped with now, though none of my other digital cameras are very old, it is just that this "PictBridge" feature that enables the cameras to work with all printing mediums is very recent. I do like this little printer and will keep it, it wil be great when we go on vacation and it will definitely accompany us, but I wish it were easier to use.If any of you reading this has any tips that might help me, e-mail me with the info most definitely! Also any information on whether or not the printer works with other than Canon cameras or cameras without the "Pict-Bridge" feature. Thanx for any incoming corespondence and helpful information.Sincerely......Alphia D. Larkins aka

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun, Functional, and Surprisingly Versatile!
I own a Canon A70 digital camera and wanted a non-inkjet photo printer for lab-quality photos. The CP 300 exceeded all of my expectations. The 4x6 paper comes ready with post card formatting on the back for an absolutely perfect road trip tool! Just take the photo, print it in the car (the cp 300 comes with a battery pack!), slap a stamp on it, and toss it in a mailbox. Brilliant. Plus, the small credit card size photos are adorable and you can get the sticker kind (either full label or mini labels) which I anticipate will be even more fun. Tip: a business card holder is a perfect album for these little pics.

All of this you've heard before. What you may not know is that you can print more than just photos with your cp 300! I do a little graphic art on the side and have been able to make high quality prints of original non-photo artwork (created in other programs and saved as a tiff) right through the software that comes with the printer!!

The only aspect of this printer that is less than ideal is that the paper/ink packs are proprietary and not universally available yet, even online (especially the label kind). ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Working great after 1000's of pages printed
I bought two of these when they first came out in the fall of 2004.The fast print speed and ink volumes attracted me to this printer since I print approximately 2000 pages a month.
One of the two brand new units printed white streaks across the page right from the start.Other revewers have mentioned this problem on similar models. After speaking with customer service they agreed it was defective and exchanged it no hassle for a new one. Both units have performed flawlessly since.
The auto duplexer (2 sided printing) is a nice feature for small print jobs, but for large print jobs it's actually much faster to just manually turn the paper over. This printer is designed for high volume printing. It is nice to be able to replace individual ink cartriges when needed, instead of wasting unused ink with most typical tri-color cartriges. This printer is not the best for photos (and it doesn't claim to be), but does really well for most text and color applications like newsletters, etc.It does print quite fast, however the fastest print speeds advertised are in low quality draft mode.
If looking for another fast, high volume inkjet, I would not hesitate buying another one.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good printer but unreliable
I was excited about this printer. I ignored the negative reviews. I should have listened. This printer makes great copies but cannot seem to handle large files. I am a graphic designer and work with lots of large images. It cannot handle large PDF files and will just stop printing all jobs.

I mainly bought this printer because it has separate print heads and ink cartridges. Nice feature.

Also, the area that it prints on the page seems to be off. This isn't just in one program but all. It's skewed to the top so there's a disproportionate space at the bottom that it will not print on. Kind of like a polariod photo shape. Basically, this stupid thing will cut off my pages at the bottom so I have to scale everything down and so it is not positioned properly on the page. I haven't figured out how to fix this and welcome any suggestions. I have yet to call HP about it because i have no time but hopefully I'll get around to it.

Bottom line, it's a nice printer but has loads of problems. It's unreliable. If you're thinking of buying, I suggest looking into other printers.

4-0 out of 5 stars No USB Cable Included, but a snazzy printer nonetheless!
We bought this unit for our new home-office.It arrived in record time, earlier than expected! What surprised us most was the size of the printer box.It was massive. The printer itself is huge as well, much larger than expected. But, we're getting a bang for the buck's fabulous. You'd think we had a laserjet printer!Printing in black and white is crisp and clear, and the color imaging, brilliant.I was disappointed that the unit was not entirely colored in silver and black. Instead, it has chalky white unit and paper tray covers, which looks tacky with our office furniture. Also, the unit did not come with a printer cable, so plan on buying one (go with the USB cable if you can - better transmittal rates) for at least $26, depending on which one you choose.Otherwise, our concerns with the unit pale in comparison to how pleased we are with the purchase.

1-0 out of 5 stars print heads are duds
I have had this printer for more than a year.At first, it was a great printer. Not anymore!!It uses up ink like no other, yes, it is great to have the individual tanks(which is why I bought the thing) but now the print head isn't working right.Do several deep cleanings and use up nearly all the full tanks up, and the problem is still there. The pages have splotchy black marks and the texts are only partially printed.Went to the canon website, they don't even acknowledge this printer ever existed.
My recommendation is don't buy this model!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars uses too much ink!!
I have to agree w/ the other reviewer that said this printer is an ink eater. It's absolutely ridiculous how often I have to replace the ink cartridges. I rarely print in color & try to use the 'gray scale' option as much as possible, but it still doesn't help. Although the cartridges are cheaper (you can get all 4 for about $50) than most, they run out much faster so you end up spending just as much on them. The print quality is good & once the printer gets started it prints very fast, but having to go to the store & replace the cartridges all the time is a big hassle!

3-0 out of 5 stars Ink eater!
I've had this printer for about three months now and have printed about 20 pages total (not full color, not photographs).I am on my third set of cartridges already! In other words, after printing about ten pages (remember, not full color), I have to replace all the cartridges.I find the print quality to be quite good actually, but have never seen a printer eat through ink so quickly. Before buying a printer, I seriously suggest you look at the page output per cartridge.

    2-0 out of 5 stars CanonS530D Review
This printer prints fast but the quality is poor. Consumer reports rates it a best buy but I disagree. Pictures come out very graney and its almost worthless to have a 2 megapixel or higher camera because the quality will not be seen with this printer. I do not recommend this printer to anyone. I bought the Cannon to replace a Hewlett Packard deskjet 932C and it was slow but the picture quality was superior to the Cannon. This purchase was a real dissapointment.

5-0 out of 5 stars Canon S530D Printer
I had purchased a refurbished Canon S530d printer for my wife for Christmas. So far, it has been fantastic. The text prints amazingly fast and crystal clear. We haven't taken full advantage of the photo printing part of the printer, but we tried it out on a regular piece of paper with good results. I can't wait to get some photo paper and try it there. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Printer I ever owned
I love HP printers, but this one takes the top award. It prints photos, word documents, and whatever else you want it to with ULTRA high quality. The LCD just adds to the design. Ink can be expensive as this model holds ALL 3 (black and white, color and photo) all at once, unlike lower models. Its easier though, and well worth it! This is some printer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great printer
I am not a technophobe, yet I found this printer easy to use and operate.I have printed all the way to 8 X 10 photos with no problems and great clarity.I really like it, and have owned it since they first came out over a year ago with no problems.

5-0 out of 5 stars Quality Unsurpassed!!!
This is a fabulous printer.I had an hp see-through flatbed 4600 scanner that just wasn't working with my ASUS motherboard so I decided to opt for a photo quality all-in-one (Print, Scan & Copy) that I bought today. I'll be reviewing that HP model after I've tried it too. The print quality on the 7550 is every bit as clear as laser. The blacks are nice and solid.the 7 ink technology brings brilliant color results. There are 3 separate ink cartridges, but the yield is greater for this reason.Keep in mind that even though the machine tells you the ink is running low, wait until the print/copy quality is actually fading before you change the cartridges. Just keep an extra handy for when it's needed.I loved this printer and will miss it!The only con is that it's a bit noisy, but oh well, color quality and ease of use is way more important, don't you think?

3-0 out of 5 stars Great 6 inkphoto printer
I have used Canon, Epson and HP printers. Without a doubt I find the HP to be the one that produces the best results for me, with the lest pain and strain. This printer setup easily, without any unexpected turmoil. The machine calibrated its paper tray and 4 X 6 tray without hitch. I inserted a photo card, went to the menu and printed a stunning photo on premium glossy photo paper (gotta use this for best prints). I've printed over a hundred 8 X 10 and 5 x 7, and four times that many4 x 6 prints with this printer. I am still impressed with the photo quaility of its printouts, Some printers might be faster, some louder, so more expensive, but I think that this is one tough printer to surpass from print quality for the average home user. Easy to use, can print with, or without computer support, and has HP customer support available. A real A+ product.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great pictures...Just what I was looking for
I was looking for a printer that did my digital pictures and could print out my basic black & white documents. I recently had an Epson printer, but I did not like the print-outs and the ink cartridges were so difficult and messy to exchange. I decided to choose a new printer since the Epson wasn't doing my digital print-outs very well.

The first thing that stunned me about this printer is the LCD display in the front and the easy-to-use editing buttons. There is no need to go through the menus looking for the "zoom" or "rotate" selection, there is a button for each editing tool.

Another great feature is the front panel memory card reader. It is so easy to print a picture, even without the computer hook-up. If you have an HP computer, setup is so easy. All you have to do is insert the setup disc and plug in the USB (which is not included for some reason), the computer does the rest....All you have to do is read the Terms & Agreements.

I printed out pictures and they are so stunning, nothing come close to any printer I have ever seen. Also, the black & white print-outs are fast and look as though they are done by a laser printer. The only problem when printing is the 4X6 paper that is included in the paper tray is hard to use and gets jammed easily. I suggest not loading the smaller paper tray more than 15 sheets full.

1-0 out of 5 stars Die after warranty expire
I've heard a lot from reviews that the C84 will die after a year.I didn't believe and so bought one about a year ago.It was printing great.Ink goes out fast and had one full set replacement (Epson genuine).Worked fine till the one year warranty expires.Printing becomes terrible with blank strips when ink is close to empty (not empty yet).Thought that it's just because ink was low and so invested another set of expensive Epson genuine ink. That was the beginning of nightmare.Right after I replaced the whole set of ink, it just printed out blank pages.Tried cleaning head for 20 times without any improvement.Still blanks.

Got Epson tech support and they just recommend head cleaning again.Tried another 10 times. No effect.Ink was shown 20% used already by then even though nothing had been printed.Head cleaning really throw away your expensive ink but does nothing good. Finally, Epson suggested that repair is needed and the repair would cost more than a new printer. That means I have to give it up and lost my expensive genuine Epson ink investment at the same time.

Now, I have to believe those reviews that the printer dies after one year. So, if you like the Epson printer, buy it if you expect to work with it only for one year.Only replace ink if it's still printing fine.Don't ever bother to replace ink if you've got printing problems.Just junk it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Lasted less than a year
I can't remember when it started going bad but it was less than 1 year. I keep cleaning the heads and it works for about 10 pages then they need cleaning again. I print online postage and I am always worried because lines are going through the addresses and postal amounts. Bye Bye Epson.

1-0 out of 5 stars terrible print quality
I have had this printer for several months and can't wait for it to break down irretrievably so I have an excuse to buy another. No matter how often I run the cleaning utility, I can't get a clean printout -- pages appear with blank lines and streaks. (And no, we're not printing in draft mode, and we do keep the printer closed when not in use.)

2-0 out of 5 stars Plugged print heads... what a waste
This printer worked like a charm until the warranty ran out. Then the black ink head plugged, wouldnt clean no matter how hard I tried. Epson want $9.95 to talk to me. I did get online email support, and they told me its messed up and I can pay them to repair it.

Its cheaper to buy a new printer! Now Im stuck with two new black ink cartridges I installed (thinking one must have been defective) that puts me out another $50.

Forget Epson. Stay away from the C84. It was good while it lasted albeit a short time. Just not worth the trouble.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't Do It
This printer lasted just over one year before all of the print heads clogged.Naturally, the warranty had just expired.I won't ever buy an Epson again.Quality has declined rapidly in recent years.Buyers beware of the new C86 printer as well.Same basic printer.Same basic problems. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Lemon?
I have bought my canon printer i900D three months ago
I was not able to print not even one page
Canon customer service concluded that it was a defective printer head
    They send me one
I installed it and again, Nothing
I finally gave up on it
I am in the Bahamas and to send it back thru customs etc is nearly impossible and very costly

Now I am just discussing my experience with friends and Amazon potential buyers
Hopefully they will avoid trying Canon Printers for their own shake unless thsi model is a lemon alltogether as Canon's clerk said that he is experiencing a lot of calls about this i900d

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent printer... ink is a pain though...
The Canon i900D is an outstanding photo printer. I purchased this printer some months ago after comparing printers for awhile.

This printer shares a shell with the i8xx and i9xx series of printers. The features vary, but this printer has the ability to do both direct printing from your digital camera and memory cards as well as from your computer. The setup and software are super easy to install and use and you'll be up and printing your first pictures in minutes.

And the prints! Photos printed on this printer are outstandingly crisp, with beautiful color. Quality photo paper produces prints that are indistinguishable from "real" photos. Printing is fast and the provided software lets you organize prints on any size paper easily and efficiently. Way to go Canon!

There are some downsides to this printer. The add-on drawer for photo-sized paper (like 5x7) is very cheesy and gets stuck easily. It doesn't work all that well for me either, although I rarely use it. And then there is ink...

This printer uses six tiny separate cartridges. No store locally stocks all six, so stock up on cartridges. The Canon cartridges are expensive (eleven bucks each...a bit cheaper on Amazon) and run out at different rates. The software will warn you when a tank is running low. On my printer this happens just before it runs out altogether. So keep the cartridges handy. (One nice touch with the ink tanks is that they are clear so you can actually see the ink level: no more wasted ink because the printer thinks the cartridge might be empty!!)

Otherwise, I'm very happy with this printer and recommend it highly.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Printer Excellent Service
I purchased the i900D through Amazon. In terms of printing, it was flawless.Very pleased with the photos, speed, dB, software, the whole nine yards! However after about a week the LCD screen on the printer developed a solid black line down the middle of it.I contacted Canon Support and within 72 hours another i900D was delivered to my home.In addition they provided all the necessary pre-paid labels to return the defective one.All I needed to do was to call the carrier for home pickup. It could not have been easier.

So when considering any electronic purchase, think about the quality of service that supports the product.Today that is becoming more and more an issue. In this case, at least, Canon came through 100%

5-0 out of 5 stars Professional quality photo prints!!
I did tons of research on highest rated photo printers and agree that this printer is on par with professional photo lab prints. I chose this one over the HP 7960 because of the warmth and richness of photos and individual ink tanks (a money saver). Also, there were other reviewers selecting the Canon over the HP. This printer was also recommended as a "quick pick" by Consumer Reports magazine. I look forward to going from the Canon Photo Paper Pro to the Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy for even prettier pictures (so I am told by lab techs who claim high gloss produces best results). I am extremely pleased now, and can't wait to try out an even better photo paper by Canon on this printer. Such a deal!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Printer for a Great Price
I purchased the i900D a couple weeks ago and I am amazed at how nice the pictures are that come out of this printer.I purchased the i900D and the Canon A80 digital camera at the same time and they are a perfect pair.I own a midlevel Canon film camera that has produced excellent pictures for years so I really wanted to see how the A80 compaired to that.I went around the house and the neighborhood and took pictures with both my film camera and my A80.I printed off all the pictures from the A80 on the i900D and then took the film to be developed.I also took my compact flash card with me to the developer and got some prints with one of those kodak do it yourself printing stations.I asked family and friends which pictures were which and nobody could tell the difference!!!My only regret is that I didnt buy the i900D and the A80 sooner!! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great printer, great scanner, great copier, cheap ink
This is a marvelous device.I have had it for two days, have been printing/scanning/copying continuously (scanner+faxmodem=fax!), and am enormously happy with it.I can recommend it without qualification.
Printing is reasonably fast, the driver is very intuitive and allows for duplexing, colour/grayscale/b&w.The scanner is very high quality, performing all of colour/grayscale/b&w scanning, and the copying feature is really a gem. When coupled with a faxmodem, one can easily turn this setup into a fax machine, too, which is very handy.
Another benifit of this printer is the very cheap ink cartridges, when compared to other brands.I was able to print over 400 very-dense sides on one black ink cartridge.A non-brand-name replacement is $8 CAN, so is very reasonble and compares well with laser printersin price/page.
Perhaps the only drawbacks of this printer are its size and the occasional noisy bouts in which it immerses itself, but these are easily overlooked for the quality and functionality (not to mention the price!).

5-0 out of 5 stars Great all around printer at a bargain price
One of the reviewer must be confused when mentioning that the scan takes five minutes.Very likely, the scan is set an an abnormally high quality/dpi rate, resulting in the the high quality and slow scan times the reviewer experienced.

Personally, I am able to scan documents and photos very quickly and efficiently.I usually leave the documents at around 150dpi, and photos at a much higher rate depending on the job. Also, this printer is very efficient in scanning documents.I can literally make pdf files of my documents in about a minute.

The claims that the ink cartridges are small do have merit, but the price of the ink cartridges are really really cheap and despite their diminuitive size they do last a very long time.Just remember to stock up on a few extra cartridges when buying them.

I have done a lot of research regarding technology and one of my recalled facts was PCmagazine doing a comparison of per page ink printing. When it really came down to it, Canon really was the cheapest to print per page.Although the cost is cheap, I can personally attest that the cheapness of the printing does not result in any sacrifice to quality.

This printer supports very high quality printing and I have printed many photos in conjunction with the Canon Photo paper. They turn out really well. They're not photo lab quality, but they are definitely good quality.

Finally, for the price that Amazon charges for such a fine printer, I'm surprised they still have these in stock. The current price they charge is actually about the same discounted price as department stores charge for Black Friday Specials.

Definitely a great printer at a great price.

2-0 out of 5 stars Bad scanner, (Very very slow!) Good Printer
Scans are slow, slow slow slow!! Slow to the point of uselessness, to scan a copy of my Amazon receipt took over 5 minutes, as opposed to my older Epson 1660 which took 4 seconds. The MP370 is USB 1.0 vs the Epson's USB2.0, (why the Mp370 takes so long?) On the plus side the scans are sharp and detailed once they finally arrive, and the prints are nice, though there are only 2 cartridges: a very small Color one and a cheap nice BW, unlike most other newer Canons that feature individual color specific ones. If I could return it, I would. Then I would get a nice Canon printer with individual tanks and a nice Epson scanner separately. As a bonus this solution would work with my OSX Macs, (the MP370 features NO mac drivers, even just for printing.)

5-0 out of 5 stars Love this printer
Compared this one to various printers in the HP line and I am glad I bought this one!I also have an HP officejet 630 on our other computer, which has worked well.Scanner jams ocassionally, not a flatbed. It was time to buy a flatbed scanner/printer/copier to go with our new Dell 4600 with XP home. The reviews on the HP were toublesome since a lot of people had to contact HP tech for help and were pretty discouraged with the response, software and printer problems out of the box.
The printer and software were very easy to install with no problems, under 10 min.First thing I did was print out some photos on photo paper and they turned out great! It was a snap.Scanner worked well and produced a pretty nice image. The copier was also tested right away and did a great job.Black and white text printed out pretty fast. This one also can print photos directly from your digital camera media. The mp360 can't.
Another great thing about the printer is the ink is very affordable, 6 to $7 retail, cheaper online.A welcome relief compared to my HP, at 26 to $30.
All in all for the price you can't beat it!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great value overall
    - Very good quality printing, takes few minutes to
go through the alignment (follow the documentation)
    - The ink's are much cheaper to refill ( best thing!)
    - Not too big

    - While shutting does some noisy operation before completely shutting down.

But if you want all-in-one and best value for money- go for this one! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Printer
This printer was one of the best "basic" printers I have ever owned. It is very speedy and has great quality, it is a snap to install and tells you how much ink is left and all of the things you need to know before it is to late. This printer is great if you need to print anything, but of course for the price, it does not have a scanner or anything but is a great photo printer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent basic photo printer
Before this printer, I was loyal to Epson for photo printing, but my last experience left me fed up with ink clogging their permanent printheads. I decided to try this machine, and I couldn't be happier I did. With the Z816, Lexmark has come to rival similar Epson machines in print quality and is blowing them away in speed. My pictures look even a little better than on my old machine, especially when using the optional photo cartridge that provides 6-color printing. And now I don't have to use all my ink in clean cycles. The speed of both typical documents and photos is very impressive, and the automatic paper type sensing is a cool feature. This printer is quite basic, but that makes it an excellent value if you're like me and would always use your computer to print photos even if you had a printer that could do it alone (old one did--never used that feature). Can't beat it for the price.

Installation was a breeze for me.I've installed the printer both locally on a PC and on a remote PC across my home network without any problems whatsoever.

    1-0 out of 5 stars Worst.Printer.Ever.
This printer was impossible to install. I accidently made a mistake while installing this printer, and its impossible to reverse the effects of it. I finally found a way to uninstall the printer driver and software, but even after installing it again (the right way this time) it still doesn't work. No wonder you see so many Lexmark printers at the thrift store, and no wonder you see retailers practically giving away this printer with new computers and new digital cameras. ... Read more
