5-0 out of 5 stars Simple Install, Zero Problems
Bought this unit specifically for use with a TIVO unit I had recently installed.Followed the instructions that accompanied the unit and it worked immediately.I've never had a problem with it and have been using it now for several months.

5-0 out of 5 stars No Problems
I have had this item for 3 years and have never had any problems.setup was as easy as plugging it in.I have had it connected to phones, modems and currently a Tivo.No problems with any devices, a great product.

5-0 out of 5 stars works great for my Tivo
I've had this unit for about 5 years and have never had a problem. I had to write because I saw all the bad reviews and wanted to tell of my great experience. I have the Instajack upstairs and my Tivo is downstairs. The connection has never failed to my knowledge, the call is made nightly. I am about to buy the extension unit - hope it works!

2-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money
I've owned this product for several weeks. The setup instructions weren't great, but I was able to figure out how to make it work.I've tried using it in several different rooms and have the same trouble in every room.. there's an annoying "buzz" for every phone I've tried with it.There are no suggestions in the booklet as to what might be wrong.Overall, I'm not impressed.I don't think it's worth the price.Consider your other options before you buy this one.

1-0 out of 5 stars product stopped working after three months
I purchased this unit for my TiVo phone hook up and it only worked for three months. It is not worth the headache! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars nothing else comes close
I have a very long commute, which is my phone time. I have spent a couple of hundred bucks trying to find the perfect earpiece. I have found it. I tried two plantronics- one was OK- and a terrible one by a small mfr... but THis is it. It took me a while to learn how to use it- I found it uncomfortable at first and the winder got in the way. But after a month it felt strange to drive without it. The trick is to make sure that the reel is unwound entirely when you talk. Be careful; it is very lightweight and therefore not as sturdy as a plantronics model. (I caught mine in the car door; I can't allocate it's demise to it's construction). I couldn't wait to get another headset so I went out and bought an inferior one. If you can afford to wait for the mail, get this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love it
Actually, I have the one without the winder but I'm gonna get the winder. This is my 3rd attempt to find something convenient. It took some diddling to find out I needed the large earpiece (never knew my ears were that large) but once I did, it's maintenance free. Sound quality on both ends is excellent (callers don't know I'm on a headset). And the thing just stays right there in my ear. I can jump around, shake my head, whatever, there it is. And not uncomfortable. The only drawback is the dangling cord but apparently the winder may be cumbersome as noted above.
This is the first thing I've reviewed on Amazon but I'm a gadget freak and I checked these things out here before I bought it so maybe this will be helpful to someone else. If you have the right size ears.

2-0 out of 5 stars Bad, bad, bad!
My first 3 days with the EarBoom Winder have been very disappointing. When I make a call when driving, the "reel" part of the EarBoom dangles down awkwardly and sometimes gets wrapped around the gear shift. Obviously, this is not good. It takes away much (all?) of the safety of a hands-free kit. I encountered a buzzing noise when making calls. I never get this with the stock hands-free kit that ships with my Motorola V60i. Yesterday, the EarBoom stopped working. I couldn't hear anything through it. This is probably because the reel hangs down, and the wire is getting loose in its connection. I give this product a 2, and not a 1, because I did some tests and found that voice transmission was clearer with the Jabra than with my stock hands-free kit. I'm going to return this product and get a Jabra EarBroom -- without that darn winder!

5-0 out of 5 stars Cool and Comfortable
Excellent product. I was looking for a handsfree cell phone accessory that didn't have wires to get tangled. I used to use a faboulus Plantronics ear boom product, but I was always getting the wire tangled.

Jabra's retractable boom mic works perfectly and the sound quality is as good if not better than the high standard of Plantronics. Another plus is that unlike most ear bud handsfree accessories, you can hear through the earbud. It doesn't actually plug your ear canal so you can't hear anything else.

I only have one gripe, that is a trade of in the ability to customize the jabra. The earbuds can be changed in sizes but I knocked off and lost 2 of the 3 left earbuds and the windscreen. I was able to superglue replacements and it has been all good since then.

Highly recommended. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor Product from Sony
This headset that I purchased broke within a week, and before it completely stopped working, people on the other line were complaining of an echo in the headset. The tube mic is not that great either. It is very flexible like they say, but it doesnt look right when people wear it. However, on a positive note the earpiece is very comfortable and has a clear sound.

3-0 out of 5 stars OK, except for mute
This headset is comfortable and has good sound quality.

The only thing I do not like about it is that the mute button has to be held down to work. I prefer one that is more like a switch. That way I can listen to a conference call or do some task with my hands free while on the phone. I have had to use a large paperclip to try and hold the button down and this is quite inconvenient.

If you don't need a mute button and you like this style of headset, it is better than the others I have tried. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars do you ship in Italy?
i wont know il you ship two headset for motorola talkabaut

2-0 out of 5 stars Not for all day wear
I (like many others) use the radios when riding my snowboard.

The sound quality can't be faulted, both sending and receiving are crystal clear (and now private). Wearing it all day you can now hear when people are paging you, not just when standing in line.

Now the bad; the build quality should be questioned, the speaker inside the earbod rattles around in mine, and the "PTT" button is difficult to press when wearing gloves. The earbud's a little big for my ear, and isn't as comfortable as it could be (although it fits under my helmet fine).

The other problem I've had with this is that it pops out of the headphone jack on the radio with annoying regularity. I've solved this with duct tape, which isn't pretty but it is functional....

4-0 out of 5 stars Good product. Short wire
This product does exactly what its supposed to do. I don't understand people who expected this product to support VOX. It does not say anything about VOX in product description. I personally don't like VOX, because I don't want my children to hear what I'm saying when I fall down while skiing :-).
Anyway the product is OK. The only problem for me is a very short wire, that's why I gave it 4 stars.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice product, but...
The product itself is very nice and easy to use. I use it for skiing and find it very convinient except VOX. The earbud is not voice activated even though my two way radios support VOX, so every time you want to talk, you have to push the button on the microphone what is really unconvinient.

3-0 out of 5 stars Does not support VOX
I should have realized that this mic does not support VOX. I guess when you buy a microphone its can be either PTT (push to talk) or VOX.

I'll have to return this and get a VOX enabled one, though I'm not sure which one at this point. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars I hate it
I had a previous good experience with a Jabra headset. This one was recommended for my Panasonic cordless phone by Jabra. However, the sound quality is terrible. It lacks any kind of high frequency response, and so sounds very boomy and full of bass, making it almost impossible to use. It also needs a foam cover, since any kind of slight wind movement makes it extremely noisy. I contacted Jabra about this product, but received no response. Maybe it would work better with a different phone, but definitely NOT with my Panasonic.

5-0 out of 5 stars Jabra EarPhone
I've had two (broke one and lost one) and am ordering two more today.Nothing beats the simplicity of this gem.I use for my cellular phone (an LG 4400) and for my cordless house phones.Input sound is great, noise blanking fine for the recipient of my calls.Get very positive feedback from everyone I call. One of the best things I like is that there is nothing needed over the ear.It fits nice and snug in the ear.

4-0 out of 5 stars Decent . .
Really good sound quality for the price range. Suppresses outside noise very well due to such a snug fit. Since there are six (three different sizes for each ear), most people should find a decent match. Some of my friends found it kinda' hard to get used to sticking it in their ear but I thought it was rather soft and comfortable. It also stays in the ear quite well even while shaking one's head (Yep, I tried. I like a good tight headset.) According to everyone I called, the voice quality was also pretty good. Never had anyone complain to me about not being able to hear me unless it was windy or lots of background noise. (Don't think any other phones really do well in those conditions anyway.) The one downside is that due to the cylindrical design of the wire, the wiring came apart on the inside (took it apart to figure out why) because I used to wind the cord when not in use. Lasted about six months though. All in all, a pretty good headset . . just don't wind it up or fold it too much.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works great
I have had this for four months now.Not only am I using it for my satellite service, but it also sends the IR signal for my DVD, VCR, and Receiver. It must cast a very wide IR beam because all my equipment is on a 5 foot rack and with the receiving unit placed at about 1.5 feet from the bottom and only 2.5 feet away, its able to cover all the components. Also, the range is good, even through walls.I am actually buying two more sending units (D935) to put in the basement and my home office so that I can control everything remotely.I've tried it through walls at a direct liner distance of about 20-25 feet.I'm not sure what the advantages are of the more expensive units, but this works great for me.

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad merchandise

1-0 out of 5 stars Does not work
Stop. Hit your back button and move on. This thing does not work.

2-0 out of 5 stars Why the hell would Motorola hire a third-party BVRS software
I have used the software since its early version from V300, V400 to the new V180. the darn thing never worked properly on the V300 and it's probably not the software fault as the phone needed a firmware upgrade. Recently i tried to transfer phone book from one V180 to another V180. It took me update to the latest version and removing all the excessive/unnecessary modem entries from Control Panel | Modems, so that it could finally see the phone the right way. Then after getting into the software and configured it to explicitly use the assigned modem(phone) it finally worked. The whole process took 1 and 1/2 days. With Ericsson software, things were never this messy.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not yet reliable
I bought the Bluetooth version to use with a Motorola V551. Followed installation directions but Windows did not recognize the Bluetooth device. Called support line (in India) and they walked me through the driver issues. Then software would not run. Called support and they went through the update process. I managed to sync my Outlook address book, but the PC froze when trying the calendar. I also took the Bluetooth device out of the hub, and when I put it back in, the drivers had vanished. Once again called for support. Once again reinstalled drivers. They said that the software would not work with my version of Outlook Calendar (2003), so I should rather use an older version of Outlook. I decided not to do this, and I am waiting for a fix from Motorola. In the interim, I have not been able to transfer any ringtones, as the software does not work properly, and I only managed to send one photo to the phone (before the software stopped responding). I will have to call support again to try and find out what is wrong. This is potentially a great product, and I have enjoyed using it the couple of times that I have got it to work. Until they sort out the bugs though, I suggest that you stay away (especially from the Bluetooth version).

1-0 out of 5 stars how many updates to get it to work?
Have yet to get this to work.Tried installing the software 4 times, running the update feature 3 of those times with no success. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars HOW DO YOU RESET THE LANGUAGE OPTION?
I bought several of these since they were inexpensive, although they EAT batteries.Unfortunately, I didn't keep the instructions for setting the language (which you must re-do after changing the batteries). Can anyone out there help me with this? Thanks!

1-0 out of 5 stars Hard to Read
Quite simply, this caller ID display is too hard to read from any angle EVEN if it has brand new batteries in it, AND the contrast is turned up all the way.The display is just too dim.Save your money and don't buy this one.

3-0 out of 5 stars Passable product, sham warranty
As with most budget-priced caller ID boxes these days, the display is seriously lacking in contrast, and harder to read than boxes made a decade ago.The contrast control, with about 20 settings, gives you the choice of a too-dark background (showing all 8's) or a too-light foreground. The unit comes with a non-detachable cord, denying you the option of locating the box far away from the jack using a longer cord. The 1-year warranty is nonsense because you must pre-pay a "shipping and handling" charge almost equal to the price of the unit.I wish manufacturers would spend an extra nickel to add two more wires to the feed-through, which would make it possible to use a 2-line phone (although with caller ID only on line 1).Another nice feature would be a way to delete all calls from a specific number simultaneously.Without these features, this Southwestern Bell unit performs its basic function adequately, though not superbly. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Thorougly confused
After reading the previous 8 reviews I am beginning to understand why I am experiencing problems. These reviews have helped me to become aware of many features available or needed to make this type of unit a more user friendly device.

The information re; being incompatible with DSL is true in my case also.I have requested support from atttelephoneproducts@aatphones.com.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not compatible with DSL
I like the features of this unit and would like it even better if it had all of features some other reviewers listed, like call sorting and adjustable LCD.Mine has neither of these features. But my real complaint is that when my DSL modem is plugged into the wall, my Caller Display 436 will not work.It works fine as long as the DSL is not plugged in.My phones with caller ID display work at all times.I like the fact that this unit came with a power supply rather than batteries. It would be nice to have a back up battery in case of power failute and a larger display would also be nice.Is anyone aware of other units which have no problem with the DSL line?

1-0 out of 5 stars Piece of Junk
This is supposed to display the caller information, and store up to 100 calls in memory. The display of the current call works, but after getting several calls in memory the characters change to display complete gibberish when looking back at the history. If you have a use for the call history, don't buy it because it doesn't work.

2-0 out of 5 stars NO Back Light!!
What a disappointment! After 5 years using a Pacific Bell caller ID box (CIDCO Model DB99), I had no idea that a caller ID box would come with no back lighting. We have to use a flashlight to see the display on our wall! (A lamp washes out the display.)The display is adjustable but, out of 5 settings, 1 is so light you can hardly see it and 4 and 5 have filled in black boxes around the numbers making them mostly unreadable.Only setting 3 is acceptable.
I ordered this from Advanced American Telecom (although the operator said it was "Telephone"). This number was given to me after I called SBC to get a replacement for our current box (fading display).
It was $19.95 and no Shipping over the phone (the operator told me that shipping was usually $8.00 but was a promotion ending in April), but I found it was $14.95 and $6.95 S&H on their website, www.telephones.att.com. Also, you do not receive a packing slip, the label on the outside of the box is required for your warranty (labeled so) and I can't get it off -- I have peeled and peeled it but looks like I am going to have to cut it off and keep it with the cardboard still stuck to it.

Make sure your model says it has adjustable backlighting or something to that effect. Now we have to order another caller ID box and hope for the best.

Our cordless phone has caller ID but you have to pick up the phone to see it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Can't See its Offspring
I recently purchased the AT&T 436 and it displays call made from land lines as it should. But calls made from AT&T wireless phones don't register, instead it displays "error present" or "line error".Strange, my other caller ID devices, including an AT&T wall phone, Bell South caller ID box and a Panasonic wireless phone all display both cell and land line numbers. What's even more interesting is this AT&T caller ID box is specifically rejecting calls from it's own AT&T family. Go figure! I returned it for a full refund. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars mvox rocks!!!

bought this thing a few months ago.it's awesome.the sound quality is almost perfect.it's easy to use, just plug into usb and go, and it's reallly small and portable.i use it to talk via skype and everything else.... i never write reviews but i really liked this product after my friend recommended it.it's like those small bose speakers except smaller and for your computer.mvox rocks!

5-0 out of 5 stars Simple and good!
This is a very simple but great speakerphone. You simply plug in to the USB port of a PC and start to use it. There is no button to push.It works better than many expensive speakerphones cost a few hundred dollars. Most of microphones in PCs do not work because of the annoying echo. But this device eliminates it by a processor inside the box. If you have used Skype before with a headphone, you will appreciate the comfort of using a speakerphone. With out any buttom, the speaker and microphone volume are adjusted by the PC. It takes about 30 seconds to get the right volume and you don't need to asjust it again. This is a great little speakerphone for the VoIP application.

5-0 out of 5 stars The device making free VoIP talking on PC a joyful experienc
This is a pocket size peripheral to make a full duplex phone on PC possible. With only $40 cost, I would be able to enjoy free VoIP conference call any where. Without this kind of device, I might get only walki-talki like quality while I am using Skype or other web based free IP phone. The speaker phone fuction allow me to do conference calls with several groups of people internationally without paying a dime. I have got paid back by playing with this device twice for hour long conference calls. By using USB connection as the power source, it is quite convenient to carry and play with my notebook PC during my business trip. Not like bluetooth headset, I don'd even need to worry about charging the battery. ... Read more
