Good conference phone, but ...
I got this conference phone at a good price.It is quite expensive for home use.

Pro:
* It can be loud.
* When someone in the house pick up the phone, it makes a short beep. Great for monitoring.
* Cord is long.Great when you want to extend to other table.
* Got a RCA jack if you want to record it.

Con:
* It does sound like you are inside a big tunnel.Isnt all speakphone like this?Who can tell the difference if both are using it.
* Too expensive.

Excellent for office conferences.
I use it for my SOHO and it works great. I do not understand who other users have posted negative comments on this product. It works great, the sound quality is pretty good for the price. Soundstation with mics is better, but also three times as expensive.

Don't waste your time
I purchased this phone thinking it was similar to the SoundStation 100, the difference being this one is newer, sleeker, and cheaper... I was wrong.

The sound quality is terrible.I could not hear a person speaking from a handset without clipping.When I spoke, others said it sounded like I was in a tunnel, or very far from the mic. This was in a room about 10x12.They said it is for small rooms...Like a closet perhaps?

I am going to step up to the SoundStation 100...Which has much better reviews.I'll review it there...

Step up to SoundStation
I bought this phone hoping it would be similar in quality to the polycom soundstation phones we use at work. It was not.

When I use the phone, I often cannot hear the first half sentence of the other party when they begin speaking. They complain that I sound like I am in a huge room, and can't hear me if I get more than a foot from the unit.

I am most disappointed.

PANASONIC KX-TS105W
Nice well designed phone. Very easy to program. Takes 3 AA batteries for memory presets. I purchased two of these phones, one for my grandparents who promptly dropped the phone on the kitchen floor ejecting the batteries thereby erasing all the pre-programmed numbers that I had entered. Battery cover needs to be taped down to prevent this, as battery cover does not close well (Panasonic could have designed a better battery cover into this phone as they have with other models).

Phone has nicely sized buttons, loud ringer and well functioning speakerphone feature as well as a headset jack. Receiver cord is a bit short but can easily be replaced with a longer one. Will review again as the phones age. ... Read more

poor design
1. Remote operation: You cannot use a cell phone to check messages remotely on this phone (Southwest Bell Help Line) making this service useless for most operators.
2. Limited technical help - required four days to have phone call returned.
3. Poor sound quality on the digital message system.
4. Garbled instructional messages built into the machine which cannot be turned off.

poor design
It works, and it takes messages, but I expected more.

1) You need the manual to use this one - nothing is intuitive.
i.e. There are TWO buttons labeled erase, and they only work in certain modes. huh?
2) To set the time, you cannot use the key pad, you have to use the review side switch to go through minute-by-minute with the annoying/scary son of Dek Talk voice saying every minute... by the time it says minute FORteeFIVE I wished I had waited until 1 AM to set it.
3) It has to tell you the instructions verbally every time you use it - I couldn't figure out how to turn the annoying voice off.
4) Annoying voice.
5) Even with all the audio information it does not have a beep function to signal new messages.

very nice multi-function corded telephone.great price.
We bought this phone to replace a cordless phone that kept getting intermittent interference.It works great with no interference.We replaced the short cord that came with it with a 25 foot cord.We still don't have the freedom of a cordless, but we don't have the static either.

Speakerphone generates feedback
The speakerphone on this phone is poor. If you turn the volume up to 2/3 or more, the phone generates high-pitched feedback. If you turn it down lower, the speaker is very quiet.

Faulty Design
This phone doesn't works properly, the audio level when speaking on the phone (i.e. the level that the caller hears) is much too low.I guess the amplifier design is faulty as you can hear the noise level increase at it vainly tires to compensate.I brought two models back to the shop for a refund. It is disapointing at it is the only phone I can find that has the all features I want.

Inferior to our old speakerphone
We tried to replace our old speakerphone with a newer model.This one has a very soft speaker volume and makes loud noises if you get too close to the speaker.I like the old version better.

Terrible audio quality
I have purchased three of these phones now in an attempt to get one with acceptable handset audio quality. (I bought one in an attempt to upgrade my phone service; it was bad - terrible handset audio quality. I returned it to the store, replaced it and bought one extra thinking that the problem was solved. I have two phone lines, hence two phones. Also it is a 40 mile drive to the store!)

All three are essentially unusable. When you are speaking into the handset microphone, properly designed telephones provide some audio feedback to the handset speaker so you can hear yourself as you would when speaking normally in, say, a face to face conversation. The feedback on this telephone is terrible; it is highly distored and it overloads easily.

All in all, a 0 on a scale of 10 for human factors. For $... you expect some quality.

Great corded phone!
I love this phone!I have found the sound to be quite clear (with volume settings), the set-up was simple with the enclosed instructions.Using it on the wall, the caller ID display is large and easy to read (has 5 different contrast settings).The speaker phone has clear sound and has volume settings; I like mine nice and loud.In fact, I can't find anything I DON'T like about this phone! ...
