1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
This product works but is disappointing. I've been using it everyday for three months now and have decided to get rid of it. Although it's adjustable, even at the lowest setting the volume really is too loud. I have to remove it when I dial or the tones actually start hurting. Also, if the other person happens to speak loudly it gets painful fast. I solved this by taping in some cotton - but, really, that's not what I paid for! It's nice to have a mute button, but, as another reviewer points out, it's too close (adjacent) to the button that hangs up the phone. I've hung up on people when I was rushing to turn off mute several times now. Last but not least, the microphone is too finicky. It has to be placed in just the right place or people say they can't hear me. I know a lot of people are too polite to say anything and just grin and bear it. Caller ID also is lacking.

1-0 out of 5 stars Only good if you don't care what the other person is saying
I use this phone at work. I have been looking for a replacement. The features are nice and the headset holder is nice to have, but it has one terrible flaw - the clarity is non-existent! It sounds like the person on the other end is talking through a pillow. Turning up the volume doesn't help, either, it only amplifies the fuzz. We have another, older Plantronics phone that has much better sound quality, so maybe we just got a faulty one. I wouldn't risk it, though.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Performer!
I needed a phone for a home office. This phone was recommended and I bought it through an Amazon affiliated merchant. It is my 1st handsfree phone and I love the convenience of it! No more neck aches. Sound quality is as good or better than my cordless phone and no interference so far from any of the other equipment in the office. Small size base, comfortable headset. I would change 2 things - the MUTE button is right above the ON/OFF button and could cause an embarrassing hangup. The other is a longer headset cord. It appears to be about three feet long. Otherwise very nice!

5-0 out of 5 stars great quality!
This is the second model of this phone I have purchased - I'm a repeat buyer because the first one worked out so well.Great, clear sound quality, and a comfortable headset.I prefer a corded phone to cordless for the security factor, and because in a power outage a cordless phone is not operable. If you want a corded phone with a headset, this is the one!

1-0 out of 5 stars Picks Up Radio Signals
I purchased this phone for use in a home office and discovered immediately that it picked up a local radio station at a very audible level.I visited the Plantronics website and discovered that were well aware of this problem because it was listed in the FAQ on how to address the situation which they claimed was cause by living too close to radio station towers (we don't live near any radio towers). It went on to suggest ordering a filter to be installed between the phone and the headset control unit, but since this model has the head set control and phone fully integrated, I was doubtful of the solution. The alternative was to try several different locations and I finally discovered that if the phone was placed in my closet, the intereference dissappeared.I finally threw it away because of this ridiculous issue.Apart from this, it's a great phone, but this fatal flaw made it useless to me though I'm sure some users may never encounter this problem. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent phone
We bought one of these to replace the older model KT3280 which we bought about 10 years ago. We love the built-in caller ID. Haven't tried any other phones as we are pleased with the Panasonic.

1-0 out of 5 stars misleading LCD feature
This phone was listed with LCD features but not suitable for my needs. It was shipped by Beach Audio.Contacted Beach to convey my disappointment and return the telephone.I was required to go through ridiculous red tape procedures plus $10.20 shipping and "required insurance" I purchased this phone on Nov 17, 2003 and returned it on Nov. 23,2003.My visa was originally billed for $94.85including shipping&handling.I paid a total of $105.50.Until I called today there was no credit on my Visa.BeachAudio is allowing me $79.52. This is highway robbery.

1-0 out of 5 stars Great phone
I recently purchased two of these phones for my office to replace two very disapointing GE models, as soon as I had them set up, I immediately bought a third for my home. It might seem to be a minor detail, but even the batteries were included. The hands free feature is excellent, programming is a snap and fairly customisable, the intercom is great, it's expandable up to eight extensions, great sound quality all around. I hope that panasonic will make a cordless model that is compatible with this system. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Fragile headsets
This phone works well for what I need -- but I've gone through two headsets in two years! The first one just quit working -- the second was destroyed when my son stepped on the cord and it broke off at the jack. So be sure to have a warranty or a replacement plan ... and of course, it's the headset, not the base, that's the expensive part.

3-0 out of 5 stars Plantronics T20 Update
Since this product is still being sold and preceding reviews were some time ago, I'll share my recent experience with the product. It's stylish and solid. The volume and tone controls are accessible and effective.Received audio (ear speaker) is clear and rich.Transmit audio (microphone)is adequate, but could use a gain control.

Disappointments: Line and mute controls are very close together, occasionally leading me to disconnect a line when I reach to mute it.No memory functions other than 'Redial', which doesn't seem to work on the second line.

GLARING INADEQUACY:The BLARING touch tones generated by dialing and navigating through interactive phone systems are way too loud, even at the lowest volume settings.Bad idea, bad design, bad Plantronics.Bad, bad, bad.

5-0 out of 5 stars I want to buys
I would like have one but it is out of stocks. When
you can have it on sale. And can you ship to Taiwan?

Thanks...

2-0 out of 5 stars Love/Hate Relationship
I LOVE the style of this phone! I love how the top lights up BRIGHT RED when I'm on the phone. I love how the mute lights up when enabled. I love the tone and volume controls and the fact that it handles two lines beautifully--each lighting up green when active, red when ringing. Even the headset is stylish AND convertible (over-the-ear or over-the-head)!

If only I loved the QUALITY!! :-( The sound is HORRIBLE. When dialing, the tones are deafening--to the point of pain. Seriously.

There is also an irritating noise. It's sounds like an auto-gain control (maybe the noise-cancellation) that induces a hiss ONLY when someone is speaking. If there is silence on the line, it is silent. When someone speaks (me or the caller) the hiss joins in. Fortunately, the callers can't hear it.

Also, people say they can't hear me very well. They say it sounds very thin compared to my cordless phone.

I'm really sad that this beautifully designed phone fails to perform. If I can get over the BLARING TONES and the ANNOYING HISS and the POOR SOUND QUALITY, I'll keep it. Otherwise, I'm taking it back.

1-0 out of 5 stars All Show and No Go!
If this product were only as pleasing to the ear as it is to the eye!But it's not. After more than a quarter century of engineering headsets/amplifiers one would think that Plantronics would get it right.Wrong!!

If I hadn't destroyed the plastic package in which it came I'd have returned this product without a moments hesitation. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Had to add a mute button.
I had to modify the phone with an on-off pushbutton to mute the mic.I couldn't find another corded phone in this price range with two lines and speakerphone but the lack of mute really sucks on this one.

2-0 out of 5 stars Nice Phone, But Lacks Some Essentials
I have to agree with everyone. Two lines are very nice, but the lack of a mute button makes this phone unusable for conference calls.Unfortunately, I am going to have to replace it with another phone that has two lines and a mute button.Fatal design flaw.Lack of a lighted "message waiting indicator light" is also a big drawback, but there is a faint message waiting indicator on the LCD.

4-0 out of 5 stars I like it better than most
It's true, it's not perfect, but it doesn't cost a fortune either. There is no mute button, but Iuse the speakerphone to listen until I get off the endless hold of banks, tech support, whatever.. so that is not a problem for me. I like that I can use my headset, the handset OR the speaker. The sound quality is good. I set Line 1 as my default line, and I HAVE dialtone on Line 1 when there is no power. I have had the phone unplugged for up to an hour an NOT lost my settings, so I don't think that's all that much of a problem either. Yes, you have to be able to use a menu to set the ringer volume, but once it's set, I leave it, so again, no problem there. For me this phone was a good value for the money, and I am happy with it.

4-0 out of 5 stars No MUTE button while on speakerphone
Great phone for 2 line use in my home office, however lacks a MUTE button for conference calls.

2-0 out of 5 stars Beware No Mute, No Easy Ringer Off
No mute button?Isn't that illegal? How about having to drill down menu after menu to just to turn off the ringer?Otherwise the phone works great and sounds great. But these are biggies to me. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars nice looking with poor speakerphone
This phone worked well, but, in less than 6 months, the speakerphone faded in and out, to the point where it was not possible to hear the incoming message at times.I obtained a replacement, but the replacement phone did the same thing.Other people have reported similar experiences in their reviews.

3-0 out of 5 stars 2 line interference.
The phone works OK, all features are fine, but when you are using 1 line and someone else uses the other line, you can hear them and they can hear your conversation. I thought that this was something in my house wiring but fond out that this is not the case, (and by the way, I am using 2 different phone companies).
Well, if you want something with that price, you expect to have some issues.
I would give it 3 star rating.

2-0 out of 5 stars Good when it works...
This phone has lots of good features for a good price--when they work! The speakerphone on line 1 works great. You can hear and be heard from several feet away. When I use it on line 2, the speaker fades in and out, often so low you can't hear your party. The headset jack has a short in it, so you have to fiddle like crazy to find a position where the headset doesn't crackle (then if you accidently move the plug you have to start over). It has a cool feature that ends a call when the other person hangs up, saving you from having to hit a button to end the call when you're on speakerphone or headset, but unfortunately it occasionally will end a call BEFORE they hang up--embarrassing! The caller-ID will not let you back up to see a number you've already seen--it's just gone. The voicemail waiting light sometimes doesn't blink when you have voicemail. That's all I can think of right now. Anyone know of a good quality 2-line speakerphone that will hold up to every-day home-office use?

1-0 out of 5 stars One of the worst phones we've ever owned!
We've had nothing but ongoing problems with this phone. The biggest one was the phantom interefence noises that would eminate from the phone in the middle of the night! They'd go away if you jiggled the cord enough and then suddenly come back a month or two later. The hands-free option no longer works and now it's extremely difficult both hearing and being heard on it.And we've barely owned it a year!

3-0 out of 5 stars Mouthpiece has plastic smell
This phone has all the features you would like in a two line phone. I especially like the voice mail received light. The big problem I am having is finding a headset that produces good sound quality. I have tried 4 different headsets including the AT&T H420, and none of the made the cut. I also had to return the first model I bought because it rocked on the table. If anyone knows what headset to use, I would like to know about it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars big phone system features for small price
i purchased 5 of these phones for my New Jersey office from my telephone wiring contractor CROWN TELECOM SERVICE (732) 681-3903 and they are a dream. they were up and running with a little programming.

Easy to use, cheap, and have big system features like intercom, page, hold, LCD display, etc.Phone systems cost thousands of dollars for the same features.

Don't fall for the big system hype. Have these installed and save yourself alot of money!

1-0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointed Small Business
I purchased 4 of these phones for my small business. They are terrible. While everyone in technical support admits I have tried everything to get the phones to work they do not.I can talk on them but if I put a call on hold and pick it up at a different extension the customer can't hear us....we sound like a Mickey Mouse organization....Avoid these phones no matter how nice customer serivce is they can't help.

2-0 out of 5 stars phone is fine but it broke and no replacement parts
The wires in the handset keep losing contact even though I tried to fix it many times. And, the key here is, there are no replacement parts... So, that is a major problem.

5-0 out of 5 stars the right review!
I strongly disagree with the first review because it is nearly impossable to say they are "fragile"
I strongly agree with the second review and I already have 4 AT&T 944 telephones, 4 AT&T 955 telephones, and 4 AT&T 964 telephones in my office building and I also plan on adding AT&T 955 and AT&T 964 telephones to every room of my floor.

    On a seperate issue...

I own 4 AT&T 944 telephones, 4 AT&T 955 telephones, and 4 AT&T 964 telephones since the first day on the market and I have NEVER had ANY problems with ANY of my telephones! I know that I can't say my true feelings on your sickening reviews, but I can say that your reviews are sad and angering, and maybe if you would read the manual FULLY and maybe called a telephone engineer, you would not need to bash AT&T. I LOVE MY AT&T 944 955 AND 964 TELEPHONES!

1-0 out of 5 stars No replacement parts available
AT&T / Advanced American Telephone does NOT provide and will not sell replacement handsets for this phone.

Two hundred caller ID locations are also provided, and incoming call information and most setup features are easily viewable on the built-in LCD.

A new-message indicator provides a visual alert to any new voicemail messages, while the redial feature lets you easily dial any of the last six outgoing numbers. 4-0 out of 5 stars Delightful!
I was skeptical of ordering this online - however I was pleasantly surprised when I received the phone, it is great, it is a Real Phone, not these modern plastic faux chrome phones that have no personality. This phone has plenty of personality and the ring is also authentic. The only reason I did not rate this a 5 star is that I wish the dial had a light in it - that lights up at night - my original princess phone had that and I just loved that feature but all in all - you princesses out there will love it!!! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Good quality wall phone, a bit bulky, no voicemail light
I bought this device to mount on the wall in front of my work desk, and for that purpose it's an admirable phone.

Plus: The contrast- adjustable LCD displays current date and time without you having to set it, the buttons for call list browsing, option setting, etc. are on the back of the receiver so you don't have to take the phone off the hook to use them. The sound quality is great of course, this being a corded phone, and it feels somewhat worthy in your hand. The keypad lights up, although only for a few seconds - dial fast in the dark! The ring tone is nice at its medium setting.

Minus: I find the base a bit bulky, the LCD has no background light, and when the handset is set to "hi" volume, you do hear a bit of a screeching noise when putting the set down on the base (I keep the setting at "lo" though, which is plenty loud). My main gripe is that the phone doesn't have a voicemail indicator, which would be extremely sweet with my phone company (Vonage). Also, the caller id stuff works with batteries ONLY - at least, they could have put a 6v ac adapter plug on the phone.

Still, four stars because the phone does all it says it does.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Phone
I bought this phone for my elderly father last October. The caller ID screen is larger than alot of cordless phone CIDs and you can adjust the contrast by pushing the "options" button, and choosing between 1-4 in "contrast."4 is the darkest contrast so that is what we set my father's phone on.The phone is very attractive, and can be either wall mounted or sit on a desk. There is a piece on the bottom of the phone you adjust for either wall or desk placement.

Now for the negatives. My father has trouble hearing and he had trouble hearing on this phone at times. After I bought him this phone, I told him I had 30 days to return it, so please check it out to see if he could hear with it.Well, he used it, but I never heard a negative word about it until it was too late to return it.He is now using an old phone of mine that has volume you can turn up very loud and he's happy.

Personally, I think this is a very good phone. The only negative I noticed is a light background buzzing noise when you make a call on it.If you need a corded phone with a nice size caller ID screen with big letters and numbers, this is a good phone. It would make a good back-up for someone who prefers cordless phones, but needs a corded phone for those times when electricity is off.

2-0 out of 5 stars Good phone, one MAJOR flaw
This is a good phone, except it has one major flaw which makes it unusable. First off, a minor flaw is that it is hard to pick up the reciever as it is locked in there, I don't like that. Another flaw is that while you are picking up and putting back the phone, it makes a VERY high and LOUD screaming pitch. This makes it almost deafening for someone on another phone in the house. This phone will be going back ASAP because it is unusable. Stay away from this phone at all costs.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Phone
Hands down this is the best corded caller-id/call waiting id phone on the market. For the extra few dollars it beats all the other brands in performance and features. I picked mine up after returning 3 Southwest Bell Freedom Phones that were not what I expected. BJ's wholesale Club has the phone for $12.99 plus tax (if applicable). Like I said, $3.00 more than the SW phone and 100% better. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Typical cheap Asian electronics
In other words, lots of claimed features, many of which are unnecessary, conflict with one another and are poorly documented. Additionally, we found that this unit (although not the 944 slave) is subject to RFI (static), which required us to relocate it to another room.

How much is your time worth? Figure on spending at least 5 hours getting this turkey up to a minimal operating level and never being able to get it to work fully.

Since the RFI appears to be generated by the answering system, consider buying a separate answering machine. The first one we bought, from AT&T, was defective. We ended up instead with the Panasonic KX-TM100B [ASIN: B00000J53X]. You'll save yourself a lot of grief by buying it instead.

Another reviewer recommends the Voice Logic Voice Pro 412 system. I don't have any experience with that one, but can't see how it could possibly be as bad as this.

If you do buy this one, or have already bought it, be sure to download and save the operating manual. Otherwise, once amazon stops selling it, you'll have trouble finding a manual. This is, obviously, good advice with any electronics product.

1-0 out of 5 stars It does not deserve the one star rating
I purchased one 964 and three 955 for my real estate business. The answering machine was very important to me.I only hope that I can return these lousy phones.

1-0 out of 5 stars Did not deliver on promises
I purchased this phone with high expectations based off product features especially the auto attendant. We purchased 2 each 944 and 2 eacch 964.This was for a small office (2 people)The 944 phones worked together but the 964 phones did not.The manual was the worst to date I have read on a phone system and gave no detail. After countless hours with support staff on phone (email support was a joke they copied sections from manual and sent them to me even though I had described following every step of the manual to them in detail) it was determined that while they advertised it would work with any anaolg line system it would not work ours because our system had been upgraded by BellSouth.During course of events I found out that it was common for the phones not to work together. The system never worked as promised and phone manufacture gave up trying to solve problem.

1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointment and Frustration
Nothing about this product is intuitive or simple. The hardware and software for this product are poorly designed. The only reason to purchase this product is if you want a product only you can use; this may give you job security but your job will become coping with the phones. Most important, our clients didn't like the process necessary to leave a message.

The most basic operations, like taking messages and retrieving them, are complex to set up and perform.

I could not figure out how to set the machine to pick up messages without calling AT&T support.I wanted to have the machine answer the phone and take messages if no one was in the office.Instead the answer message was played three times or the caller had to select an extension to have the machine accept a message.

If the line you set up to receive messages is busy, you need to have a second 964 if you want to take a message on the second line. This means that you have to check more than one phone for incoming messages. And, if I wanted someone else to pick up messages, it took a half hour to train them because the operation was so confusing.

The phone has too many buttons. Even after using the phone for several weeks I was not able to find the redial button easily. The directory holds lots of entries but it is not easy to set up or retrieve them.

The problems just went on.Rather than waste more time trying to use the features on these phones, I set them where they are only used occasionally -- throwing away most of the purchase price for these phones.

1-0 out of 5 stars Very unhappy with this product
I originally purchased two 964's to replace Casio Phonemate telephones I had been using. After three months, I went back to the Casio phones.

      Problems included:
      1. Answer function inflexible and poorly designed: If there is a way to let a caller leave a message without going into a "phone tree" I couldn't find it. Phone repeated announcement rather than take message.I had to call support to setup phone to accept incoming messages which is a basic function of the 964. When I was talking on the phone, it couldn't answer and take messages, that required a separate phone and a second place to check for incoming messages.
2.Poor hardware design: Directory was inconvenient to setup and use. Too many buttons on the face made it difficult to find a specific function quickly. Not able to use a line without having the answer function enabled on it.
      3. Poor documentation: The manual did not have the specifics I needed to figure out what I was doing wrong.

Avoid this product. Nothing about this phone was intuitive. It has no redeeming features. I'm sorry I can't give it negative stars here. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Buttons Don't Work
I purchased this phone system in 2001.I really liked all the features and how nicely the whole package was put together.Sony really knows how to design consumer products.

BUT DON'T BUY THIS PHONE!6 months after I purchased it the cordless handsets starting having problems with the keypads.I purchased the system and 2 additional phones. That's a total of 4 cordless phones.Every single phone, without exception developed problems with the keypad. At first the numbers are hard to press, then over time certain numbers on the keypad stop working all together. If this only happened to one of the cordless phones I would have written it off to a bad one in the bunch. But EVERY cordless phone developed the problem.

Don't even get me started on the Sony's support crappy support.I gave up and purchased aonther phone system.

Up until I purchased this phone system I had been extremely happy with my Sony purchases. This has definately soured me.I'll think twice about buying any Sony product.Last thing I want is to have to deal with some guy in India who doesn't understand me next time I have a problem.

    5-0 out of 5 stars Long-time owner
I have owned this phone since August 2001 and it has worked on both standard (Verizon) and VoIP (Vonage) networks without any problems at all. In general I like Sony equipment and this phone has not disappointed. Talk-time is, with a fresh battery, around 2 hours and stand-by time around 24 hours, give or take.

I particularly like the speakerphone (base unit only) and the answering machine (base unit only but accessible via handsets), both are easy to use. The 2.4 GHz handset has never let me down, quality always good. To be fair, we live in a 1 br. apartment so dropout has never been an issue. Even so, neither 802.11 nor microwave ovens have posed a hassle to the quality of calls made via the handset.

All in all, I think this is a great phone, it's lasted me three years now and it's still going strong. It gets a LOT of use, I can't think of too many electronics products nowadays that last more than 12 months, in this regard the Sony phone is a standout.

Also, to the other reviewer who was looking for a replacement battery (my original battery died after about 18 months) for the handset, I got one from Radio Shack for about $12.95 in about a week, not a problem. Even better, it is a 1000 mAh battery as opposed to the feeble 700 mAh one that came with the phone, so talk-time is longer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sony Cordless Telephone
I have this Sony telephone and two expandable handsets. We live in an old house with limited phone jacks, so we have the expandable handsets in places where we could not otherwise have a telephone. We also can take the handset with us when we go to another phoneless room and save running up and down steps to answer a phone. The only problem we have is occasionally forgetting to put one of the cordless handsets in a charger at night and then running down the batteries. My biggest worry is where to buy new batteries as this phone seems to be discontinued. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Another Good Basic Phone
I have owned one of these for years. I now use it for a back up but it still works great. It's just a good basic no frills phone. Mine has been dropped a few times but still works. No frills but also no problems.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little phone in its simplicity!
The box says the AT&T 210 Trimline is the best selling phone of all time, and I can see why. It's reliable and doesn't have a bunch of complicated instructions and programming to follow. It has good clear sound, and the handset has adjustabnle volume, which makes it good for the hearing impaired.Cordless phones seems to be gaining in popularity, but everyone needs at least one corded phone in their house for in case of a power failure. This simple, inexpensive little phone is an excellent choice!

5-0 out of 5 stars Very basic, but very good.
Okay, so you've got your four-line, 2.4GHz Digital Spread Spectrum cordless phone with 100-number memory and built-in answering machine. And then the power goes out. Or you loose the handset in the couch cushions. Or you forget to charge it. Or you can't even figure out how to turn the darned thing ON. That's what the Trimline is for. It's a cheap, reliable, easy backup phone. The adjustable volume makes this thing really loud, and the backlit keypad is a feature somehow missing in my expensive cordless. And I like having a phone that's tethered, so I always know where to go when it rings. The memory works, but I don't think the people who buy a phone like this will use it much (I have only one number in mine, plus the emergency numbers.) ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Flat out....these phones suck!!!!
We purchased 3 of the AT&T 955 phones for a small business. After about a week, they all have had their quircky problems.

1.One of the handsets broke, luckily they actually sent me a new one.
2.Occassionally when you pick up line 1 line 3 lights up (seems to be a common problem).
3.The lines "hum" periodically. After contacting the trouble shooting desk, they recommend I get the jack replaced, well, it still does it.
4.They do not work well with cordless phones, the lines do not release, unless you do it manually.

I am in the process of returning these and getting something else, they ARE NOT DEPENDABLE.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not enough features
I'll cut straight to the chase:

    ** Only 4 (!) speed dial buttons
** Directory is a pain to use. Phone must be hung up, but when you pick a contact and hit Dial, the contact's name disappears and all you see is the numbers... meaning, you wonder if you are dialing the correct number; numbers in Directory are all together, as in 18003252525 (vs a more visually readable 1 (800) 325-3535.
** Interface isn't logical, overall. Still can't figure out the sequence of buttons to push.
** Auto Redial is for only the last call... which you don't know, but pushing it *immediately* redials this mystery number anyway. Rendering the function pretty useless.

I could go on and on. If you are used to a multiline phone, this one probably isn't for you. Compared to the Nortel Venture system, this doesn't cut it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible!!
Guys, I've owned this phone now for one year and let me tell you that this phone has constant problems. Sometimes when I press the number one line, both the number one line and the number three line will light up!! That's right, two lines come on at the same time!! I regret the day I bought this thing.

4-0 out of 5 stars They work well but are not perfect
I have 2 AT&T 955 telephones and 6 AT&T 944 phones in a 2 story house. I purchased some new and some used from various sources in 2002.We had to return one phone when it was new, but all the others worked. We like several of the features *very* much (paging, especially) and wouldn't consider switching to other phones at this time but we've definitely had our share of problems. Two handsets which originally worked no longer work (and it's not the handset). We put them in rooms where the phone isn't used often and just use the speakerphone. We also have 1 phone where the display gets garbled. If you briefly unplug it from power, the display corrects itself but messes up again after several incoming calls. When you page a phone, it automatically uses the speakerphone. My son's phone recently started humming until he picks up the handset.Until he does, I can't hear him, but he can hear me.We have almost double the length of phone wiring that these phones are supposed to support so we're pleased the system works as well as it does despite the handset and display problems we've experienced with multiple phones.

1-0 out of 5 stars ATT 964 AND ATT 955
We bought 2 phones for our home office on march 23. 2004.The 2 phones have been returned 7 times.Today, we will get full credit from Staples for the phones:

Problems 964:Bad handset . New unit actually was a repakaged unit in the box with a factory seal. Caller ID failed. Did not record calls.Had to reset numerous times.Got a replacement unit. This was a new factory sealed unit.

Seemed to work fine.tried to use the conference feature tieing 2 lines together.Put a loud hum in the lines so no one could talk or hear.

Problems 955Seemed to work fine out of box. After 1 week. the speakerphone failed.Everytime used, hada loudfeedback noise into the line in use.Replaced phone.New phone had caller ID failures.

( When I was at the store doing a swap, ran into another customer who was also having problems. These phone are pure garbage. For an analog multiline phone, these are the
    WORST I have ever owned..
Replaced with used Nortel Venture 3 line phones.Work great..
