5-0 out of 5 stars Very Satisfied
This Uniden phone works great for me. I bought one for my country hobby shop and was so pleased that I bought a second one for my city home. Free of static and interference on every channel I tried. The earpiece volume control often comes in handy when it is hard to hear the other person. The phone also works well with a headset. I found all features easy to set up and use. I don't use caller ID, so can't speak for that. I am very satisfied with this phone. I also think it was a bargain for the price.

1-0 out of 5 stars You Get What You Pay For
This phone is terrible. No bargain here. A LOT of static and interference. It even picked up a fax machine! We tried different channels and plugged it into two different locations in our home, and it was just as bad. I have two other Uniden phones and they are great. This phone was a dissapointment, but I guess you get what you pay for. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent phone
This is my third purchase of Uniden phones and all (900Mhz,2.4Ghz and now 5.8Ghz) have met or exceeded my expectations. This phone was easy to set up and, once set up, it's features made it a joy to use.My WI-FI that used to take a hike whenever I answered my 2.4Ghz cordless phone is now stable. That alone made this purchase worth it.The clarity is excellent and the absence of interference is remarkable. The answering machine is a plus. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Low quality base microphone and speakerphone
I received the phone yesterday and have been playing with it for a day. It looks nice and has good handset speakerphone/microphone sound. However, the answering machine quality is poor. The sound quality from both the speakerphone and the microphone on the base for the answering machine are unsatisfactory. Another annoyance is if a power failure occurs, the date and time need to be reset, although messages are not lost. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice phone, nice features
I've been very pleased with this phone. The bright and large black on orange text display is a big improvement over older Panasonic black on green displays.Borrowing from cell phone functions, there are three soft keys for voicemail notification on/off, voice enhancer, and phone list, a nice touch. The handset is comfortable to use (albeit larger than many other brands), and the keypad has nice large keys that are easily dialed one-handedly.The good-quality speakerphone is also a handy option, as is the flashing light visible on the antenna tip to signal incoming calls or new voicemail.

Sound quality is excellent both in and out; I've not had any of the issues noted, and I did test via leaving messages on my cell phone. However, when the "Voice Enhancer" function is turned on, my voice did sound overamplified with feedback noise.I'm guessing that this function is designed for someone with a very soft voice, and that most users would be better off not engaging it.It is, though, a nice option for perhaps a child or the elderly person who needs their voice "enhanced".

Overall, with the $30 Panasonic rebate in place until the end of May, I rate this phone very highly on a price/value basis.I may purchase another.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best phone I've ever had
I've owned this phone for over a year, (...) My favorite feature is the speakerphone on the handset. This is so convenient. It even allows you to mute while on speakerphone.Great for those conference calls to the office when you're home with a sick child.Another great feature is that if you have voicemail with your phone company, a light on the antenna will flash to let you know you have a message. By the way, I have had none of the problems mentioned by others.

1-0 out of 5 stars Battery died in 6 months, never got the rebate.
I bought the phone and WAS satisfied with its quality even I didn't get the rebate. (Panasonic is famous for its bad rebate) But barely after 6 months, the battery totally died. I here DO NOT recommend this phone and I do not recommend any panasonic products with rebates.

2-0 out of 5 stars Panasonic's reputation got dinged with this phone
I too am disapointed in this phone. I've always been pleased with Panasonic products, but not this one. For me, the problems are when I'm too close to the base unit, the other party can't understand me. It seems when I'm further away it clears up. How Panasonic can release a phone to the market with this kind of obvious problem is beyond me. I like the features. I like the speakerphone. I like everything else about it, but if it can't do the basic function of talking to a caller, what good is it?

My recomendation is to avoid this model completely and hold out for something else.

1-0 out of 5 stars Voice Does Not Sound Clear To Others
I bought the Panasonic KX-TG5050W and charged the battery for six hours as recommended.I made test calls to friends. I heard them clearly, but they all said that my voice sounded muffled and had an echo. This is unacceptable.I returned the phone and bought the Panasonic KX-TG2313W.This is a great phone.I don't believe it is available in black. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent product, works with most digital systems too
Plantronics has been in the phone business a long time, and it shows in the M12 amplifier. The unit is fairly easy to install. You start by pluggin it into the handset jack on the phone (some digital phone systems like Toshiba Strata Dk will offer an optional headset card - use that as you'll get better phone operation).

You may need 2 AA batteries (or the optional AC adapter), depending on your phone system.Plug in your headset (make sure its compatiable with the quick disconnect plug on the amplifier), and adjust a slider on the side of the amp to select one of five settings (use the one that gives the best quality sound and operation, you won't harm the amp by experimenting). Now you are ready to dial.

What makes this a good product? It is easy to install and configure, sound quality is excellent, and plantronics build quality is exceptional. It should last a long time and endure heavy use, even in a professional call center.

One note, this amplifier will not work with dial in the handset phones. Not too many of those around these days, but its good to be aware of it.

Amazon.com Review

The Siemens Gigaset 2420 offers a full-featured multiuser phone systemfor growing offices and hip households. The base package includes a two-linedesk phone that serves as the master station for the system, as well as one 2.4GHz cordless handset (model 2400) with its own charger base. Expanding thissystem is simply a matter of purchasing additional cordless handsets (up to atotal of eight) and registering them with the desk station.

With its stylish, understated look, the Gigaset 2420 will be a sharp addition to any office. Thedesk station features an uncluttered control panel that uses bright red lightsto alert you to line use, caller ID callers, voice messages, and access to voicemail services provided by your phone company. Siemens makes the most of the two- line LCD display, consistently dishing up very informative menus and callinformation. There are only four speed-dial buttons, but the system includes abuilt-in scrollable phone directory that you can easily scroll through to movecaller ID entries into the directory. Transferring calls couldn't be easier;pressing the "Int" button displays a menu of extensions, complete withnames.

The cordless handsets are small and light, and incorporate a surprisingamount of local functionality. The handset's control panel is very consistentwith the desk station; in addition, some of the functions are wisely implementedthrough two double-position buttons that control soft menus on the LCD display. This gives remote users a look and feel similar to mobile phones, including theflexibility to customize ringer volume and pitch for both external lines and theintercom.

The 2420 system can support two external calls, as well as aninternal conversation between two handsets, for a total of four active handsetsat any given time. The cordless handsets store their own local phonedirectories, and you can send directory entries to other handsets or to the deskstation. For the wandering user, the cordless units also provide an audible out- of-range warning.

During our tests, we found the Gigaset 2420 packageintuitive and its handset comfortable. The system was easy to set up. We simplyplugged in the phone line, installed the batteries in the cordless extensions(they accept either ni-cad or NiMH), charged them, and registered the cordlesshandsets with the base by following a quick, well-documented procedure. Thestandard ni-cad batteries (included) provide about four hours of talk time, andthe optional NiMH batteries provide about twice that. We recommend returning thehandsets to their chargers at least every evening.

The standard belt clip andheadset jack made the cordless units perfect for our users on the go. One of the2420's strengths--its small handset--was our only frustration. We found both thedesk handset and the cordless extensions difficult to cradle on our shoulder.Old habits often die hard.

We highly recommend the Siemens Gigaset 2420 systemfor growing offices and households with kinetic teenagers. This affordablepackage allows for quick expansion without running any additional phone wiresand gives all of the users full control over the system's operation. -- Stephen W. Plain

1-0 out of 5 stars LCD is dead. 10 thumbs DOWN!!
LCD is broken. Phone doesnt ring. Dont trust the Siemens support. They dont answer. They donr help.

2-0 out of 5 stars Wish the handsets worked as well as the base
I bought this system for my office after I had installed a 2415 at my home. I was in the honeymoon period at home and decided that we needed the same at the office. Initally everything was as good as advertised. The receptionist (who loved the features) thought she was in heaven and life was good.

Then the handsets started failing, one after the other. Eventually, like my handsets at home, they all failed- every single one. Siemens was very distant and unhelpful, although they replaced the handsets the replacements failed more rapidly (I suspect they were "factory reconditioned") After the warranty was up, Siemens would only offer to sell me more handsets.

Now the base, whose LCD screen no longer works, sits on a side table. People use it to make outside calls and answer pages. They comment on the styling (I agree with that), and remark on the sound quality (quite good on the base). They ask what the antenna is for, and I tell them not to ask.... they don't want to know.

1-0 out of 5 stars High Cost for Poor Quality Product! Don't Buy Siemens
I bought the 2420 with desk station and handset.First thing to fail was the handset where the display and then the number 4 on the keypad gave out. This of course was just after the warranty period ended.Next the desk station LCD display stopped working and there is no way to repair it.Without the display working there is no way to program the phone.I need to be able to turn off the answering machine mode (because I use Vonage voicemail) and cannot do it.There is no flow chart in the manual that would show me the button pushing steps to accompish what I need to do.So I am throwing this expensive piece of sh*t away.I will never buy a Siemens telecom product again. The default on the phone is answering machine on, so there is no way to reset it (unplug it) and have the answering maching function turn off.

2-0 out of 5 stars DItto; opened up handset - disturbing gell found
Ok, so our handsets have been getting flaky.
the buttons stopped working.

I opened it up.

There is some odd clear sticky gel everywhere, and the circuit board is discolored.

this is not battery goop, either. this is something else. I suspect either whatever was in the rubbery buttons OR whatever was in the contact layer for the switches.

I am now shopping for a replacement. I do need the dual line, multiple handset features, and would like some kind of battery backup. any advise?

1-0 out of 5 stars Garbled sound, piece of junk, avoid Siemens
This phone is junk. I spent way too much money buying handsets and base units. Sound is garbled on handsets. Range is minimal. Base unit disconnects callers. Tech support completely useless. I wouldn't buy anything from this company. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Cordless Phone
The people writing bad reviews for all the Panasonic Cordless phones must have a different colored phone. If you would read the details on each of the extension phones, for some reason the White Phone has a different type battery than the silver, violet, or black. It has an NiMH battery that can be charged without running down. The others have a NiCAD battery of which I can't figure out why. It doesn't make since to have one you have to run completely down. You should have full time usage of the cordless phone. I never leaave my phone off the charger for a long time. It's always back in the charger by at least bedtime. I love the phones except for that. I don't know panasonic was thinking about. They should make all the other ones good by supplying a NiMH battery and a new charger.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good, But I Still Want Better
A nice system overall, but not nearly perfect. We purchased a set of these to replace our burnt out Siemens Gigaset 2402 system. While we were happy to have something that worked (the Siemens system had died a slow death over about a year and ultimately became unusable after a little over two years of use) the features and design of this system leave much to be desired. Numerous minor inconveniences and awkwardnesses make these phones less than they could be--nothing major, and perhaps only noticeable when compared with the excellently designed Siemens phones (really nothing more than the difference between Japanese and German design).

Two features stand out in comparison with our retired Siemens phones, one negative and one positive. On the positive side, these phones support detection of voice messages on an existing message system, so that it is easy to see from any handset whether there are unplayed messages on either line. On the negative side, the system does not support handset naming. We imagined this would be a minor inconvenience when we bought the phones, but it has proved to be a major drawback: there's simply no way to get the entire family to learn what number goes with what phone. When we had the Siemens system, which supports handset naming, the we had a working intercom system (not to mention convenient transfers of calls); now we're back to shouting. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

The E580-1 is a 5.8 GHz cordless accessory handset designed for use with AT&T's E5860, E5865, E5900B, and E5965C expandable phone systems (required, sold separately). These base systems accommodate up to eight handsets, giving you the flexibility to place an extension wherever you need one, without an additional phone jack. By utilizing the 5.8 GHz signal and employing frequency-hopping digital spread spectrum technology, the E580-1 offers clearer reception and at greater distances than traditional 2.4 GHz or 900 MHz models.

With just one phone jack, the system supports
up to eight extensions throughout your home,
depending on your base model.

Caller ID and call waiting compatible, the E580-1 has a 50-number caller ID memory, as well as image ID and personalized ringer options. The LCD with graphical display has an icon-driven menu to help you navigate the phone's functions, while a 50-number internal phone directory helps you to keep track of all your important phone numbers. Vibrating ringer and polyphonic musical ring tone settings are available.

A handset speakerphone and headset compatibility provide hands-free communication methods. You can retrieve messages from the base unit using the handset, while the intercom feature allows you to speak to other handset locations. With conferencing, you can speak to multiple parties at the same time, and a call transfer function lets you route incoming calls to another handset.

An illuminated keypad is provided for ease of dialing, and a low battery indicator lets you know when to return the base to its handset for recharging. Flash, hold, mute, and redial (last 10) buttons are also provided. The E580-1 comes backed by a one-year warranty.

Paired with your existing cordless or corded phone and an analog phone line (one or two lines), the Beamer FX Videophone Station with Digital Picture Frame lets you talk face to face and also share digital pictures with friends and family who may be right next door, or on the other side of the country.

As a videophone, the Beamer FX offers a low-profile design with a built-in 0.25-inch CMOS camera that can capture and transmit motion video. Transmission speed is dependant on phone line quality and connection rate, and both parties involved require a Beamer product. As a digital picture frame, the Beamer FX lets you view images directly from your digital camera's memory card--no PC or additional card reader is required. The unit supports five popular memory card formats--CompactFlash (Type I only), Memory Stick, SD, SmartMedia, and MultiMedia Card--and saves up to 12 of your favorite images on its internal memory for later viewing.

1-0 out of 5 stars Astonishingly poor answering machine
With the ubiquity of answering machines and voicemail systems, it's amazing to discover a device that seems to have been designed in a vacuum. It's chock-full of one poor design choice after another.Where to begin...

1. During playback, the message number, day and time are announced first, and veeerrrryyyy slowly. If you have several new messages, or you're listening to old messages, pull up a chair.(AT&T: put envelope info at the end--I'll listen if I want--or better yet, make it optional).

2. It's very easy to delete the wrong message. If you press delete after a message is complete (as soon as the person hangs up), you'll inadvertently delete the NEXT message (I did that alot).

3. If you have 18 saved messages, there's no way to listen to message 18 without scrolling through the first 17 messages. Not a big deal?Say you have 18 saved messages and just got three more, and want to replay the third new message again.Get ready to press the SKIP button 21 times. Is this digital or cassette tape?(I know the answer).

4. Why can't the caller ID info stay on the handset displays after the answering machine picks up?(I know all manufacturers seem to do this, but why?)

These may all seems like minor annoyances, but if you rely on your answering machine and need a certain level of sophistication (or at least the same capability as the cheapest cell phone plan), skip this one.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good phone but surprised by poor outgoing message quality
Have only had the phone for a few days, and am mostly pleased with the features, and ability to coexist with my wireless network; but, the quality of the outgoing message is poor, much below my expectations, and when trying to call back numbers from the call log I run into problems because the 10-digit number is used without the "1-" prefix, which doesn't connect for me (and I see no way to change the default setting for this, only can edit the number to add the prefix and store it in my notebook).

4-0 out of 5 stars Almost Perfect
This system replaces a Siemans 2.4gig system. We could no longer cope with the finicky charging system and the poor voice quality, not to mention their nasty habbit of beeping for no reason in the middle of the night. No such problems so far with the AT&T.The E2600B sounds great both on the handset and for the person on the other end.And it is totally immune from interference with our 8011.b wireless network. Two shortcomings that keep it from getting 5 stars are that the phonebooks must be programmed for each handset and the handsets cannot be renamed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Feature Rich Phone
I use this phone everyday. The battery life is excellent and having two handsets is great (one to charge and one to use on those days when your talking gets out of hands).I also really like the quality of the speakerphone and option to mute the calls from my end.I've used a lot of cordless phones and this one tops them all.

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVEthis system!
We recently purchased this AT-T E2600B system altho ours came with a second cordless handset with speakerphone and base (box and operating manual mention the system is expandable up to 8 handsets making it ideal for small offices or busy homes). We have nothing but positive feedback to say about the system. The most important part is that the connections are CRYSTAL CLEAR when using the phone, the speakerphones and listening to messages on the answering machine. Whether we're using these inside our house or outside, the connections have been flawless. Our last phone system was a 900 MHZ GE which we really liked but after 8 years it just didn't work. We weren't sure if we needed a 5.8GHz so we picked this 2.4GHz. It's range is extremely good and more than adequate for our 'expanded use' needs within our house and outside of our house. If there was one small change I could make it would be: that the phones edges weren't so perfectly rounded because it would be much easier to cradle it on my shoulder. Otherwise we feel that every aspect of the AT-T E2600B is definitely 5 star!!! ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Don't judge a book by it's cover - looks nice, poor function
Don't even waste your money on this machine.I bought this machine about a year ago and it's ready for the garbage. When callers call, we can hear them and they can't hear us.As for the faxing/copying function, it now just prints out blank pages, even though the ink film is fairly new. When trying to fax, it always jammed if there was more than one page needing to be transmitted. Also, the ink film doesn't last very long. The only nice thing about this fax machine is the look and the cordless phone w/ caller id.I contacted Panasonic by phone and the recordings kept giving me different phone numbers to call.I emailed them my problem, haven't heard from them.I'm definitely not purchasing Panasonic again.

2-0 out of 5 stars Only good for ultra-light duty
Form factor is very attractive and the phone and answering machine work well, but the fax machine is not good at all.Copies are quite weak, and faxing more than one page guarantees a misfeed. You really have to feed one page at a time to successfully send a multi-page fax.

If you only fax once in a blue moon but want a home fax, consider this system. If your usage pattern is heavier, keep looking.

1-0 out of 5 stars Expensive ink
This machine takes very expensive ink to make it work.It works out to about $0.20 per page. Also, the machine is not that good anyways.

1-0 out of 5 stars picture is not the offered item
the picture shown has no relevance to the item offered and I can find no data on how long on average the film will last before it has to be replaced.Inexpensive machine, expensive ink required to make it work ... Read more
