Product Description Features Reviews (5)
It really shines with it's headset capability (such a beautiful thing when you work at a keyboard for a living). Also, there's no need for an external amplifier, like some phones.(Although I do work in a quiet home office, so a loud environment would probably require the amp... I often have the volume at max, which works fine for me.) Using it to store numbers, review caller ID calls, redials, etc. is a little tricky, but no worse than any other business phone. It handles 2 lines well, with all the business features you'd expect. For example, it has a voice mail light that indicates when your voice mail (purchased from your local phone company) has new messages. You can program that button to automatically dial your voice mail, and even type in your password (adding some "pause" spacers after your voice mail access number). It's really convenient to press one button, then pick up the line (or hit speakerphone) and get your messages. My biggest complain (and it cost a star!) is that there's no mute button. There is a "hold" button, but this also cuts your audio so you can't listen, so I never use it. The problem has made some conference calls a little awkward, especially when my wife is yelling for me from across the house.:-( In case you didn't realize, this phone has to be plugged into an electrical outlet too (with a usual clumbsy AC adapter).Luckily the phone remembers all settings and phone numbers if you lose power, and it still works as a plain phone while power is out.No batteries.
I particularly like the flashing light/button that announces whether our phone-company supplied voice-mail has any new messages and can dial directly in to pick up our messages. I find the display is hard to read - it really does need a back-light, and I need to have fairly strong office lighting on in order to read it. However, the most significant day-to-day problem is that (as the technical-details link shows) the speaker-phone does not have a Mute feature. This makes using the speaker phone problematic. Finally, there are 8 levels of speaker-phone volume, but the 4 highest levels are too way too loud - the entire plastic housing buzzes and vibrates with the dial-tone. If only Panasonic had made the lowest volume setting into 'Mute' they wouldn't have needed to add an additional button and they could have done away with the (useless) highest volume setting.
Fonts are very big and very easy to read. You should be very happy with this purchase.
Caller ID has a quirk, though. Ocassionally, when the first ring is brief, it does not display the Caller ID. I have to go to another (different brand) phone I have in another room to look at the Caller ID. The Caller ID was in fact received; you can find it in the log. However, you can't get to the log via the Jog Dial while the phone is still ringing. ... Read more | |

Amazon.com Review The KX-TSC7 has small touches that make it a great overall telephone. The LCD screen has adjustable contrast settings, and it can be configured to show either Spanish or English text. It also has a call timer, convenient for business users or people using prepaid calling cards. The LCD shows three lines at a time, so the caller's name and number can be displayed at the same time, and the phone supports caller ID/call waiting (also called visual call waiting), so you can see who's trying to reach you while you're talking to someone else. Voice-mail subscribers will appreciate the phone's ability to intercept signals from your voice mailbox and flash an alert to let you know that new messages are waiting. When contacts call, it's easy to move their number from the caller-ID memory to a virtual address book. You can store up to 50 numbers in the phone, which you can later dial at the touch of a button. The phone's voice quality is great, helped by the fact that the handset has six volume settings instead of the usual three. The ringer on the base also has two volume settings, not including an off position. For people with voice mail and caller ID who are looking for the voice quality of a corded phone but don't want to spend a lot of money, the KX-TSC7 is an excellent choice. --T. Byrl Baker Pros: Features Reviews (9)
The LCD is about three lines tall. But only half of the middle line was "lighting" up.The LCD was busted!I waited a week for this?So far the Amazon return process has been friendly, but I dread looking for another phone. Other drawbacks: no short cable for wall mounting, no free AA batteries.

Amazon.com Review Setting up the SoundPoint Pro is simple, following the included quicksetup guide. A quick reference guide is also included for convenient access tobasic phone operations. The slim handset is sturdy and comfortable to hold. Thebase includes 28 buttons, intuitively arranged, and a large-print LCD. TheSoundpoint Pro has seven programming menus, including speed dialing, ringvolume, local number storage, line selection, time of day, LCD contrast, andcaller ID. While the ringer can only be set to one sound, the volume can beadjusted and the piano-like tone is unique and pleasant. You can store up to20 numbers in memory dialing, and you can import them from the caller ID log. Toset up a number for memory dialing, we pressed the program button to display theLCD menu. We entered a number between 1 and 20, dialed the phone number andname, and pressed the program button after each step to save. To dial a storednumber, we pressed the program button once, used the volume buttons to selectthe stored number, and then pressed the speed dial button to make the call. Theonly way to erase a stored number is to program over the old number. If yousubscribe to caller ID with call waiting, you can access these functions usingthe flash button and LCD. There is a 99-number caller ID log. Other SoundPointPro features are a rear microphone, redial, hold, mute, headset, and speakerbuttons. A conference button conveniently brings all callers off hold and into athree-way conversation. All buttons associated with conference calling includered and green lights to let you know the status of a call. For example, a redlight means the line is in use, while a blinking green light means the caller ison hold. In our tests of the Soundpoint Pro, we found the voice transmissionto be clear and did not detect any background interference. Overall, it makes afine addition to an office environment. --Emily Bakko Pros: Cons: Features Reviews (15)

Amazon.com Product Description If you receive a second call while you're already on the phone, you can view the second caller's name and number and then decide whether to put your first caller on hold. Line status indicators tell you that a line is in use. A new call indicator on the base illuminates to indicate new calls during your absence, and the visual message-waiting indicator lets you know when you have a voicemail message. Sony's jog-dial feature offers one-touch access to your personal directory and to caller ID memory. The push of a button lets you scroll to find the entry you're looking for, and another push of the same button dials the number. Three-way conferencing is made easy with the speakerphone, allowing you to talk simultaneously on both lines with two separate parties. The mute button blocks the handset or speakerphone's microphone, allowing you to speak privately to others in the room. The speakerphone also provides hands-free dialing with adjustable volume so that you can talk without picking up the handset. Sony's data port capability allows you to connect a computer, modem, fax, or answering machine without adding an additional telephone jack. Note that caller ID, call waiting, voicemail, and a second phone line all require activation and service fees through your local phone company. What's in the Box Features Reviews (8)
All too often, but not every time, the Caller ID information is replaced on the next ring with the word "ringing" (not terribly useful information) before I've had a chance to comprehend it.I've had to resort to placing a Caller ID box next to the phone. When using the conferencing feature, I've found that while I can hear the two outside parties just fine, they can barely hear each other.Conference calls are so filled with "can you repeat that" that I've had to abandon them entirely with this phone.

Amazon.com Review Besides support for four telephone lines, the 4121 offers a two-line caller ID display that is easy to read, comes with 18 dedicated speed-dial buttons, has a speakerphone and intercom, and handles three-way conference calls. Sound quality through the corded handset was excellent, and we also got good results when using a headset with the built-in headphone jack. The speakerphone on the base also worked well, thanks in part to the volume buttons that let us fine-tune the speaker output. The caller ID can remember the phone numbers and names of the last 99 callers. Considering the size of the phone, it would be nice if the LCD screen displayed three lines of information, but the two-line display works adequately. Our only other complaint with the 4121 is that many of the buttons are needlessly small. The speed-dial buttons are tiny little nubs, and all the buttons have small labels that are hard to read from across a desk. Regardless, there are few phones at this price level with similar features that can be expanded into an up-to-12-station setup, so the 4121 might be just what your business is looking for. --T.
