need recorder to record music accompaniments
The recorder above would be perfect if I wanted it for my phone system, however, I need a recorder with which I can tape music accompaniments.At one time I had a portable tape recorder/radio that did a quite acceptable job but it was damaged in a fire and I cannot find a replacement.I'm not sure whether this is the place to even ask it they are available anymore.If you can help me I would be grateful.

I searched for quite a while to find a reasonably priced digital message player for our phone system.This was the only one I could find....I'm sure that the sound quality on the other models is better, but the sound from this one is clear and their is no static that I've noticed.We have no complaints.I didn't use the included software because we already had a message, but it was very easy to transfer our existing message onto the machine using the headphone jack of our stereo system.I did notice that a coupon was included for a free professional message.A nice bonus for an already well-priced machine. ... Sooo misleading....
I thought the MOH400 was a cool way to show people how important I am (or at least make them think that).The description makes the device sound as a God send to add professional sounding recordings to your phone when you put people on hold.What they DIDN'T tell you was that your computer MUST be on 24x7 in order for everything to work correctly and that you MUST run the software continuously (or at least when you are on the phone and want to put someone on hold).Other than that it works like a charm.Just not at all what I expected.... ... Great for screening telemarketing calls
Telemarketing calls have been a source of much annoyance for many people, and have proliferated in recent years.Despite many efforts to opt out, I was still getting unwanted calls.Frustrated, I looked around for screening devices and was not satisfied with any because they would either still require me to hear the phone ringing and pick it up, or would not work well with extension phones.

I was pleased when I found TriVOX -- it does exactly what I desired.Not only does it block unwanted calls, it also allows me and my roommate to have different extension numbers (much like a small PBX).[Note: each extension number requires on TriVOX box.]A regular answering machine (called the "auto-attendant") is used to prompt the caller to dial an extension number or leave a message if s/he does not know one.When a valid extension number is dialed, only the phone(s) that are connected to the box programmed with the number will ring.Otherwise, the answering machine will allow the caller to leave a message, and the phones won't even ring.

There is a small problem with these devices: sometimes they fail to pick up even when a valid extension number is dialed.I think this happened when the outgoing greeting of the answering machine is too loud, interfering with the devices' detection of the touch-tones.I re-recorded the outgoing greeting with a lower volume, and the problem was solved.

Oh - I also had some fun with the outgoing greeting.I used atext-to-speech engine to generate a message spoken by a robot, so I didn't have to make many attempts of myself speaking to have just the right sound level.

I have been using Avinta's Trivox for about 2+ years and love it. I have 7 units throughout my 2 story house (plus a basement). I no longer have to scream for my kids to get the phone and I don't interrupt anyone when I open the phone and someone is using the line.Let me explain... you put a Trivox any place you want to transfer calls to and from and connect a regular phone or wireless phone (any brand) to it. You assign each box a number ( I used #11 for the basement, 21 kitchen... 31, 32, 33 for each bedroom, etc). When a call is received I can transfer the call to any other box, or have the call ring in all of them (#99). I can even use them as intercomms (no outside call is required to ring any extension). If the line is busy - the interrupting party hears three tones - the other people on the line will hear only one tone - thus knowing they will be interrupted if required (I normally hang up and don't interrupt once I hear the three tones)

Avinta has other uses but the best one is the one that avoids any phone calls to ring next to my bed. If I'm sleeping I don't want any telemarketing nor any calls to ring next to my bed. Only someone inside my house can ring my extension!!!

It's the greatest phone product since slice bread. I saved a ton of money versus having to buy a PBX system with their non-standard expensive phones per each extension.

BTW I can have my computer answer its extension and patch my phone call via the internet for free!

Bye Bye telemarketers.The only way to get through to me now is if I'm talking to friend and I get a beep and I click over to the new caller.When This happens it could be anyone calling.Otherwise only the people I want to hear from get through.I did use a second answering machine so friends could leave messages when I"m gone.

No more annoying phone calls.
I got this to stop telemarketing calls and am happy to say that it does so quite effectively.It's really a home pbx that sends incoming calls to your answering machine before they ring your phone.If you have given the caller a two digit code number he can enter it and the Trivox will then automatically switch the call to your phone and only then will it ring, otherwise the caller can leave a message and you will not be disturbed.There is the one thing I dislike about it, if you do not answer it will not send the call back to the answering machine, I think I'll have to put in another one. But it stops computer and hand dialed telemarketers, wrong numbers, fax machines, and cranks.It can also be used with other Trivoxs to form a home phone network for other lines, faxes, computers, etc, it's more versatile than what I have it for.Installation takes 3 minutes, and it can be switched off.
I don't think it will work if you use the phone company's answering service.
I no longer need Caller ID (...) or Privacy Plus (...) so it will quickly pay for itself.
Another plus is that no one can tell that it is there, and I'd advise you to tell as few as possible about it. ... Read more
