2-0 out of 5 stars Lack of support for GE phone
I have had this phone for less than a year and the remote unit stopped working. I replaced the batteries several times with no results.I tried to call the numbers listed in the User's Guide and found I will have to send the whole thing back to get it repaired, plus I could not talk to a technical person to see if there was another repair option.
I would never buy a GE phone again.

3-0 out of 5 stars Okay
Not a horrible phone, but not the best quality either. My two-year old broke the antenna off the portable within two weeks (our two other portables have not had this problem). We glued it back on and it still works. The speaker phone occasionally cuts out while on hold--no apparent problems while using it to talk. Sound quality is fine and no problems using the unit throughout the house (including upstairs with the base downstairs).

2-0 out of 5 stars OK Phone
I wish I could find another phone like this by another manufacturer. It's an OK phone, but the little things are really beginning to bug me (after 4 months): can't read main display at night (backlight only comes on when phone is in use or phone is ringing); cordless charge doesn't last very long (a couple of days off the charger, without a lot of use, and it needs to be reacharged again); answering machine doesn't play the announcement so you can hear whether or not the announcement is working (also, other answering machines we've had stop the announcement if the caller hangs up); no good way to just view the caller-id's of the "new" calls; no way to delete "old" caller-id calls. Phone works fine, just the little things really beginning to bother me.

4-0 out of 5 stars Own This Phone For 3 years
I've owned this phone for about 3 years now.For one of those years, we used it as an office phone, and it got really heavy duty usage. The only complaint I have is that the speakerphone feature gave out fairly quickly. But otherwise, this phone is flawless. Its especially great if you need a phone in another room but don't want to install another phone jack. All you have to do is put the cordless in that room.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very, very good phone
I've had mine for over a year now, and it's great. Good sound quality, everything works, and I really like that when the electricity goes out (and it has gone out recently) I still have phone service. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars bad. bad, very bad phone
is a very bad phone, no more coments

1-0 out of 5 stars Needs serious revisions
I have seen this phone sold under the IBM or the Bell label, but it's all the same machine. All I have to say is that I'm rather disappointed.I never had any trouble with reception like some of the other reviews stated, but the pixel screen on this phone became scrambled and unreadable within a month of purchase. Also, at times when it rings, I would push TALK to pick up the line, and the phone just keeps ringing!!Buttons are rubbery/mushy and impede fast dialing. All buttons have the same loud and annoying BEEP tone when pressed - there are no varying tones when pushing different number buttons, unlike most other phones. The usage is very counter-intuitive, and now that the screen is dead, I have no use for either the Called ID or the address book.

One friendly piece of advice:stay away from this phone!

I have had excellent experience with Panasonic cordless phones.Sony phones also have been a big disappointment - they go out of range whenever they feel like it, and you often lose your line and have to redial.

1-0 out of 5 stars This phone isn't worth 5 cents
Please do not waste your money on this phone.Even thought it might look cool it has horrid static 24/7. Sometimes it won't dial and if you are 2 rooms away from the receiver there is no reception. We bought this phone in April and have hated it from the start. The buttons are confusing and it seems no thought was given to the layout.I'm not saying anything aginst IBM I love their computers but this phone stinks.Stay away at all costs.

1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed!
I learned my lesson on this phone. These reviews are helpful. This phone gets horrible reception. What a waste of money.

1-0 out of 5 stars The worst design of a phone
I got this phone thinking that the name brand would stand for quality but it completely did not. The replacement cost me lots of shipping cost and did not even been to work. My advice it see this model do not buy unless you like pain and suffering with big cost for a truly inferior product. Clearly IBM does not care about their customer base. Their service after the sale is extremely bad. Their design on this phone was so poor that the phone only almost worked for 1 day.

1-0 out of 5 stars Like the idea behind the phone but not this one
this is my second cordless phone with aheadset-this one I can not hear out of.I contacted the sellerRainbow Barter and they said all sales were final. So I tried to contact IBM sat on the phone 25 minutes the first time on hold, was disconnected and I am sitting again 25 minutes.maybe this time I will get luck :(

2-0 out of 5 stars No luck
I have had no luck with this product. It seemed to work fine in the beginning, but after a few weeks I began to get terrible static problems, which can be very disruptive both to me and to my callers. Sometimes a call comes in and it gives a funny ring that tells me there's no way I'll be able to answer the call on that phone. Sometimes it tells me the battery has run down, even though after I put the unit back on the base and pick it back up again the battery will read fully charged. I really can't go into all the strange things this phone does in just 1000 words.
I do like the headset feature, which allows me to wander the house and do stuff with my hands while I'm yakking away, but the belt clip is a mystery. It's hinged, so that it just flips out of my belt or whatever. I have to be sure to wear a shirt with a chest pocket if I really want to be hands-free. The headset offers good sound, both to me and my callers.
I should note that this is my first cordless phone and it's possible that the problems mentioned above are to do with my environment and not the phone, but I find that hard to believe.
Maybe after I replace this thing I can come back and say.

4-0 out of 5 stars A cordless phone for most everyone
This is a very easy to use and very high quality cordless phone. The headset is comfortable, lightweight, and the sound quality is excellent. The memory, caller-ID, and call-back functions are all user friendly.Drawbacks to this phone revolve around the inabilty to use it (i.e. like a speakerphone) when it sits in its cradle. Another negative is the clip on the back of the phone is flimsy and the unit can slip from a pocket or belt. These minor flaws should not deter you from buying this otherwise terrific phone especially at its very competitive price. ...
