May Result in You Living in Canada
Everyone's used one of these. You know what they are. You steal handfuls of them from the supply cabinet, then sneak them into your purse or bag before the end of the day, only to dump them in your desk drawer at home. So smooth. So shiny. So seductive. Yes, the ballpoint pen is something you become dependent on. So little pressure yields SUCH a smooth, bold line of ink across your writing tablet.

Then someone hands you a pencil. You have to press hard, the darkness of the line is inconsistent, and the friction between the graphite and the paper requires applying a pressure five times that of the pen. In trying to push the pencil around you lose your writing style. Yes, you sign an important document -- a stupid thing to do in pencil, regardless -- and it doesn't look like your signature.

Next thing you know, you've been deported to Canada.

All because of this pen.
